Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Deep State Media Outlet NPR: "Questions Have Resurfaced" About Ukraine's CorruptionOne of the ballsiest propaganda media moves is to just put a lie right in the headline: ![]() WASHINGTON (AP) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's dismissal of senior officials is casting an inconvenient light on an issue that the Biden administration has largely ignored since the outbreak of war with Russia: Ukraine's history of rampant corruption and shaky governance. As it presses ahead with providing tens of billions of dollars in military, economic and direct financial support aid to Ukraine and encourages its allies to do the same, the Biden administration is now once again grappling with longstanding worries about Ukraine's suitability as a recipient of massive infusions of American aid. Those issues, which date back decades and were not an insignificant part of former President Donald Trump's first impeachment, had been largely pushed to the back burner in the immediate run-up to Russia's invasion and during the first months of the conflict as the U.S. and its partners rallied to Ukraine's defense. But Zelenskyy's weekend firings of his top prosecutor, intelligence chief and other senior officials have resurfaced those concerns and may have inadvertently given fresh attention to allegations of high-level corruption in Kyiv made by one outspoken U.S. lawmaker. It's a delicate issue for the Biden administration. With billions in aid flowing to Ukraine, the White House continues to make the case for supporting Zelenskyy's government to an American public increasingly focused on domestic issues like high gas prices and inflation. High-profile supporters of Ukraine in both parties also want to avoid a backlash that could make it more difficult to pass future aid packages. U.S. officials are quick to say that Zelenskyy is well within his right to appoint whomever he wants to senior positions, including the prosecutor general, and remove anyone who he sees as collaborating with Russia. Yet even as Russian troops were massing near the Ukrainian border last fall, the Biden administration was pushing Zelenskyy to do more to act on corruption -- a perennial U.S. demand going back to Ukraine's early days of independence.Yeah I remember when Biden demanded that the Ukrainian government fire a prosecutor probing his son's company, Burisma, or lose, what was it, $1.6 billion in US funding. Corruption sure has been a top priority for the Biden Crime Family. So many business opportunities! Now, questions have resurfaced about Hunter Biden's laptop. So this willowed comment is appropriate even in the new post, concerning media propaganda...
I read the "Exploding the Watergate Myth" article from JJ Sefton's Morning Report and found this interesting. I knew the media has been behaving as the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party since I have been paying attention to politics the last 21 years, but I didn't know this about the origin of The Washington Post: Yet the Post - which, as O'Connor notes, was founded in 1877 as "the official organ of the Democratic Party" and which in the 1970s, believe it or not, shared a general counsel (Joseph Califano) with the DNC - didn't want to bring down the CIA. Not saying that we shouldn't have been giving some degree of support (and covert intelligence assistance) but advocating "no fly zones," having no regard for the types of weapons provided and what amounts to direct logistics support (90% of what an army actually does) has been entirely reckless. Lately, many of the trillions are QE ... not debt sold, which has to be repaid with interest. It in time makes the currency worth less (inflation), but for now USD still strong, still the reserve currency. Of course those free trillions end up in the hands of the richest, who buy even more power -- buy our assets so we own nothing, and we become renters with social credit scores that can be adjusted if we behave badly. Last I heard China held a couple trillion in US debt, but they were complaining that we were devaluing our currency so they get paid back in inflated dollars. Not really worried about the Ukrainians misappropriating or redirecting US aid since whenever a new package gets announced the headline is always something like "Biden announces $2 Billion in new weapons for Ukraine," but then you read the article and it's, "The $2B package includes 4 HIMARS, twenty thousand 155mm shells, and two counter battery radar systems." Russia isn't cornered. It's trying to expand, when and where possible. Ukraine, despite its many problems, turned out to not be a speed bump.
For months we were told that Russia was losing and Ukraine was winning to help justify us sending tens of billions of dollars and more in weapons because it was necessary to beat Russia to preserver the Liberal Order. It was all a lie. Instead what we got was tens of billions more in debt, a weakened and exposed NATO, Russia gaining the territory in Ukraine they always wanted and a rise of BRICS and the rubble while our dollar sank and the world will face food shortages this Fall. I think that their chances are better than under Russia. There's a page or two of historical background on the subject.

Speaking of rehashing old, settled business as something new, Jezebel.com decided to resurrect this old chestnut:
The Equal Rights Amendment Just Needs One More SignatureThe president doesn't even need to sign it, just this one woman... Enough states, and congress, ratified it, but the darned national archivist refuses to sign off! Because of this, the archivist has been sued by Illinois, Nevada and Virginia. A federal district court dismissed the suit, but its appeal is pending at the D.C. Court of Appeals. The lawsuit was dismissed because the states passed the ERA after the 1982 deadline given by Congress. That deadline only applied to the preamble of the ERA, Kelly said. Laurence Tribe of Harvard told Congress that the ERA is the 28th Amendment. The 24 words that would add gender equality to the Constitution and were ratified by 38 states do not include the deadline. The states shouldn’t have to be beholden to a congressional deadline, Kelly said. “There are no deadlines attached to the constitution amendment process See, the left are Constitutional Originalists! My point is, "they did it to themselves" is a pretty weak argument. Kind of unfair, too.
We should not be in Ukraine. The only purpose for Ukraine is to launder money on an international scale. We will lose money, men and reputation. We will crash the dollar and it will lose its status as an international exchange media, and when that happens we will eat all the inflation it causes. This is what I believe. The risk is too high and the benefits are too low, and our government and elites will not suffer for it, only we will. Germany, Austria, Russia, England and France pounding their chests over the Balkans led to WWI and a century of war. Russian President Vladimir Putin could be facing another war front, this time on his own turf, as one Chechen battalion prepares a second offensive against Moscow, a spokesman for the volunteer fighting force in Ukraine said. A couple other points about this insanity...
1) Shipping advanced weapons to the Ukes means that the Russians and the Chinese will get their hands on them. 2) Blatantly intervening like this WILL lead Russia to directly supply our enemies if for no other reason then revenge. Remember when the FNM ran the false story about Russia giving money to the Taliban? And how we should respond militarily to such a provocation? That's what we are doing in Ukraine. And they will arm the next group of Jihadis we go to war with. Posted by: 18-1 at July 21, 2022 04:09 PM (ESjRY) 429

Bullshit.
Russia isn't cornered. It's trying to expand, when and where possible. Ukraine, despite its many problems, turned out to not be a speed bump. But anyone who has studied history would have known that. Posted by: Blue Hen at July 21, 2022 03:18 PM (cY9wR) The diplomats thought they could corner the Russians by dropping sanctions, so they crushed out any hope of a diplomatic solution before the war. Then their sanctions turned out to hurt the West far more than Russia, and the Ukrainian army and people pay the price. It would be foolish to expect a well provisioned and dug in force could be evicted in a day or a week, but the Russians are getting close to finishing the job of ejecting them from the Donbas now. It remains to be seen what they do then, but the tricks played by the West to supply Ukraine hardly will make Russia be inclined to risk allowing them the resources to rebuild and start over again easily.
