Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Surprise! Trespassing Charges to Be Dropped Against "Colbert 9" InsurrectionistsI'm totally surprised to learn that there is a two-tiered justice system operating in the United States which I am, for some bizarre reason, still expected to obey and show respect towards. The "Colbert 9" were cleared of "unlawful entry" charges Monday after staffers for "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" were caught recording comedy skits inside a House Office Building after hours without permission in June. A statement from the U.S. Attorney's office read: "After a comprehensive review of all of the evidence and the relevant legal authority, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia has determined that it cannot move forward with misdemeanor charges of unlawful entry against the nine individuals who were arrested on June 16, 2022 at the Longworth Office Building. The individuals, who entered the building on two separate occasions, were invited by Congressional staffers to enter the building in each instance and were never asked to leave by the staffers who invited them, though, members of the group had been told at various points by the U.S. Capitol Police that they were supposed to have an escort. The Office would be required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that these invited guests were guilty of the crime of unlawful entry because their escort chose to leave them unattended. We do not believe it is probable that the Office would be able to obtain and sustain convictions on these charges."That logic equally applies to the January 6th protesters who, having been permitted inside the Capitol by Capitol police, were never asked to leave by the specific Capitol policemen who "invited them in." But we're no longer living in a Republic and it's all just oligarchy mixed with anarchy so game on. We'll see what happens in a couple of years. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

The real problem is that the charges were wrong in the first place.
The "Colbert 9" weren't merely traipsing through the building without authorization and shooting a sketch, if I recall the incident correctly. They were also going into Republican representatives' offices and taking notes and pictures. If I'm remembering that right, t wasn't a trespassing incident, it was an espionage incident. They were spies who targeted the official business of duly-elected legislators for the purpose of exfiltrating that information from the premises. Forget trespassing, throw 'em in Gitmo. I hate to say it, but this is all our (conservatives) own fault. We still do not understand the nature of lawfare. The left does and has for years. The second some leftwing criminal or terrorist gets in trouble, there's an army of well-funded lawyers and lobbyists and PR agents ready to help. The left has all these funds and charities that pay for legal fees, bail, and probably prostitutes for any leftwing skell that gets in trouble. The right does not. So the J6 heroes rot in prison while their court-appointed attorney conspires with the prosecution. Where are all their well-funded attorneys? Where are all the motions to release and lawfare on their behalf? Where is ANYTHING in support of them? This would never have happened with Colbert's criminals.

I don't think much will be different in a couple of years, except that it'll all be a bit worse. This system will continue to work until it doesn't. I expect 40 years or so before the regime collapses by one means or another. If it happens sooner, fine, all's well that ends however it does, but I don't expect it. The people alive today aren't hostile enough in a general sense to do anything (even mostly peacefully) about it. The government will need to hollow out our entire ability to feed our populace, murder some number of millions, and plunge the rest into a state of perpetual terror, before anyone demands change. It'll be a generation that hasn't been born yet. All of that is going to come to pass. I only hope to live long enough to see it come crashing down. The really maddening thing about all of this is that they are fully aware that this is inconsistent- that is the point. But we're no longer living in a Republic and it's all just oligarchy mixed with anarchy so game on.
I believe we have finally achieved the society of Nietzsche where "Rights" and "Truth" are defined in the post-modern sense of who is the most violent. All of the Ivy League schools who mostly take in mediocre intellect check-box students have been transformed primarily into a culture of political networking where the chief aim of the degree is to be a passport to political office and prominent/influential life-time court appointments. Since graduates from Ivy League schools can't compete with the graduates from Detroit School of Law and Hairdressing in traditional William Blackstone framework, we get Adjective Justice: Social Justice, Climate Justice, Racial Justice, etc. And the Ivies are the ones to deliver that society changing dynamic of aggressive post-modernism. Since they are fully incapable of understanding, let alone practicing Just Justice, they overthrow the entire system and resort to Calvinball Law and through their political network end up in the highest courts and legislative functions. _____ Don't mean to "ackshully" you here but the nobles tended to be ethnically English with land holdings in Ireland, and their land was used to produce food for export like Beef (mainly to England). The Irish subsisted on potatoes - some estimate 10-15 potatoes a day. Amy’s Kitchen, a frozen foods company based in the Bay Area, announced Monday the upcoming closure of its San Jose production plant. ...after a year of “inflation, skyrocketing materials costs, labor shortages and disruptions in the worldwide supply chain,” Or maybe because... A movement of solidarity grew from the alleged poor working conditions. Mandela Grocery Cooperative...was among the first stores that started a nationwide boycott of Amy’s products. Two co-ops in Portland followed suit and Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco considered doing the same. Those progressives really helped. Now all 300+ workers have NO job. Cecilia Luna Ojeda, a Santa Rosa production plant employee, “I want better treatment for everybody. I want respect for everybody. A safe working environment. I want better wages. I've never been to DC though only 5 hours away.
I am 29 plus. I will never go there. Sad. I would like to see the sights. As you travel, consider, if charged with a crime, by whom will you be judged. Posted by: Taking a wide berth at July 19, 2022 03:41 PM (hOMhY) 349
Easy three electoral votes, give residential areas back to Maryland and move a Marine regiment up from North Carolina.

Is that the company with the vegan/soy frozen meals like vegetarian enchiladas that run $5 each at Walmart?
Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius at July 19, 2022 03:38 PM (txdEq) That's them. Posted by: Helena Handbasket at July 19, 2022 *** Huh. Before I had a microwave I used to buy the Amy's stuff now and then. Each dish took 45 minutes to cook in the oven. Since I found out they had soy in their stuff, and especially since their prices (which were already high) have gone up, I haven't bought their product. Does this mean they are completely out of business? Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius at July 19, 2022 03:42 PM (txdEq) 351

The blight just affected potatoes [and Wiki says tomato plants too] not other crops.
And remember the Brits call grain 'corn' [not just for maize] if you go looking for online info! ![]() The Corn Laws were a political hot potato too! In related news, Jose Alba, the bodega worker who stabbed to death a man after he was threatened and attacked has now had all charges dropped against him. The public rallied and even the militantly dishonest NYC DA's office finally caved.
Does he have standing to sue the shit out of NYC? After the events at the bodega, he was further traumatized by being locked up at Rikers with a bail set at $500 large, then reduced to $50K and then released to await trial. The DA's office acted with malice born out of politics against a citizen who was defending his own life against a black attacker. Posted by: Cheri at July 19, 2022 03:46 PM (oiNtH) 356

Thanks; I appreciate that recognized the points behind my objections and not that think it's just mean old Fenelon who eaten up with jealousy over people I do not know, and will never meet and young enough to be my daughters, LOL. Also, I don't know whether they're not doing porn or drug addicts or dead, or whether they're happily married women with a couple of kids. I don't mind bikinis with some cleavage or exercise attire but "boob a palooza" seems a bit much for a site that supposedly has a problem with women they call THOTS (I've not used that term) and sometimes deplores a lack of modesty in women and the utter narcissicism of the present age.And BTW, for the people that were paying attention there is at least one other woman who is bored with T&A too. And now before I get the weenies who change their handles to insult me or those that don't change and call me a "shrivelled up old hag"I think I'll go. BTW, I think there's a fee for it, but there are some very cute Russian girls-or at least they have Russian names on RebelNews who have a program called "Modesty is Best". Ace will you be sending any money to the gofundme campaign to free the Qanon Shaman? He needs organic food to survive

This probably pretty much kills most of the cases against the J6 prisoners, and opens them up to even larger settlements when the civil lawsuits come. I pray they have the perseverance to hold on.
Then, I expect the GOP to go after all the dem DOJ management. I think we can find a nice security federal pen in Indiana, where they can stay - without bail until we feel like seeing them again. I expect the GOP to not just complain about the J6 treatment, I expect them to let the dems taste some of their own medicine. And I don't give a crap if their families get evicted from their homes and have to sell their women to the street to get by. Posted by: Black JEM at July 19, 2022 04:14 PM (xWZcb) 360

How about we stop complaining and start planning.
Step 1 we need to start planning for how to coordinate resistance responses for when they come for our guns. Or we can just wait until they do and have a few criminal rednecks be the first to shoot and give the media the narrative win from day 1 and act surprised.
