DC Mayor Muriel Bowser Complains That Her Homeless Shelters Are Filling Up With Illegal Aliens Bused Up From Texas

She has no right to complain about this -- it is her party's policies that the borders should be thrown open -- so she contrives a pretext to complain and says she "fears" that they're being "tricked."

Which I guess is her way of acknowledging that you'd have to be tricked to go to her sh*thole city.

This is evidence that Abbott's policy, though a little gimmicky, is having a real effect of visiting the pain of Democrats' policies on Democrat jurisdictions, and should immediately be adopted by all red-state governors and mayors.

Video below.

Abbott has also ordered the Texas National Guard to begin depositing captured illegal aliens on the Mexican side of points of entry into the US, where they can, theoretically, attempt a legal entry.

Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas National Guard and the Department of Public Safety to begin returning migrants who illegally cross the U.S. border to points of entry, setting up a likely legal showdown with the federal government.

The move is the latest hardline immigration maneuver from Abbott, who's made border security a centerpiece of his 2022 reelection campaign. While the order stops short of allocating state resources for full-fledged deportations, it appears designed to test existing law that gives the federal government jurisdiction over immigration enforcement.

Mexico's pro-illegal-immigration president decried the commonsense move as "cruel and inhumane."

"Indeed, he is overstepping the limits. He is not in a position, legally, to make such a decision," Lopez Obrador said of Abbott, adding that immigration enforcement is in the purview of the U.S. federal government.

"There are elections in November, so they're looking to sensationalize this," Lopez Obrador said in Spanish. "They cannot count on us because, even though we are respectful of the sovereignty of the countries, we don't support that there are anti-immigrant campaigns for electoral purposes. I consider it immoral ... political."

On Friday afternoon, Abbott's campaign spokesman issued a statement likening Lopez Obrador to O'Rourke, the Democratic challenger in the race for governor of Texas.

"It's not surprising that the pro-open border President of Mexico is endorsing Beto O'Rourke, the pro-open border candidate for Texas Governor," wrote Mark Miner, the communications director for the Texans for Abbott campaign.

It seems hardly necessary at this point to remind the world that Mexico enforces its own border, ejecting illegal immigrants, while demanding the US be an open border country.

Meanwhile, June's border encounters will dwarf the numbers of June 2021.

Because we live in a borderless country now. Even though the people have repeatedly voted against this.

Uhhh, how does this differ in any real sense from the official US government policy of transporting illegals and dispersing them around the country? Why is that the illegals in Washington DC are there because Abbott "tricked" them, but illegals in, say, Kansas City weren't "tricked" into it? The action is the same: a government program to transport illegals to distant destinations within the borders of the United States.

These programs are the same in every meaningful sense. The mechanisms are different - state-level action as opposed to actions from the Federal/NGO complex - and so are the goals, but the activities themselves are more alike than they are different.

Amana is one of five major brands under Whirlpool. They are:
- Amana
- Jenn-Air
- Whirlpool
- Maytag
- KitchenAid

That is also approximately the order of them in the market, though they change places somewhat depending on what kind of appliance. There is technology sharing across various brands, but Amana is Whirlpool's entry-level offering whereas KitchenAid is the high-end offering. Based on my experience with Whirlpool products (Whirlpool, Maytag and KitchenAid) generally, Amana is probably fine though I have no direct experience with Amana-branded appliances.

So I find it pretty rich that the black mayor of DC doesn't want to help out these poor, immigrant Latinos yearning to breathe free just like her ancestors.

So yeah, she can eat a big bag of hypocritical donkey dicks.

Also, I had extremely good luck in getting appliances without excessive lead times by hitting the remainders market. It might work for you. Identify the major independent appliance dealer in your area, since the major independent (e.g., not Lowes or Home Depot or Best Buy) is usually also the operator of their partner brands' outlet centers. Find the outlet center and drive out and look. This is the "scratch and dent" store but they also carry things like returns, floor models, etc. Inventory will move fast, but they often have good selection.

I needed a washer, dryer, refrigerator and dishwasher when I bought my house (late 2020). I got all of them from my major regional dealer's outlet. They're a major Whirlpool player, which is why all of my appliances are Whirlpool and Maytag - but I got good (not great, but good) value on all of them and they all got delivered in reasonable time frames.

If the Drag Queen Story Hours and Critical Race Theory aren't enough for your little progressive tike, you can now send your child to ANTIFA summer camp!

Budding Roses, an anarchist organization in Portland, will hold a social justice camp for children in 4th to 8th grade. The organization brags about the children who attend their free camp later participating in protests and encourages them to be anti-fascist "social justice activists."

The curriculum provided by Budding Roses includes a plethora of ANTIFA-style protest documents including "Tear Gas for Portlanders" which teaches campers on what to do if they come in contact with tear gas and to donate to bail funds to help the cause.

Children who attend the ANTIFA summer camp will be taught chants about "killer cops" and the "rapist government" as reported by Daily Citizen.

Knight's wife deftly but politely cut the dude off and said her husband is just here to shop for furniture. She seemed like a very nice lady, and was obviously practiced at keeping the dorks at bay.

186 The die was cast long ago - not sure if it was a SCOTUS decision - maybe just a Texas supreme court decision?

Texans were justifiably pissed off that taxpayers were getting hosed, and said no money for education of illegal aliens or foreign nationals, whatever. That makes perfect sense.

Because you just KNOW the founding fathers were totally down with millions of people bum rushing a state border and demanding money from the citizenry.

The courts hold that "free and compulsory education" means illegal aliens too.

And then there's the legal fiction of "birth right citizenship".

So I find it pretty rich that the black mayor of DC doesn't want to help out these poor, immigrant Latinos yearning to breathe free just like her ancestors.

FWIW, my LG fridge (owned since 2017) is the only brand I've ever had where the ice maker doesn't clog regularly. I only had a problem with it after a 24 hour power outage where the ice melted and refroze, and it was easy to clear it out even then.

I wonder how criminals and thugs got to be in charge there. It's a total mystery how that could ever happen in a lawful nation.

I wonder if the people in power maybe thought it would be convenient to use local street muscle to essentially do their bidding block by block by keeping normal citizens under constant threat and "lockdown". Then with corrupt police power as part of and ultimately in control of the vast criminal element the state wields a brutal sort of micromanaging control. Like a dictatorship but without the fancy uniforms.

But of course that would involve years of doing stuff like letting violent criminals out of prison, going easy on them in courts, and dispensing justice more often against the innocent while actually coddling and even putting the guilty on a social pedestal, so probably nah bro.

267 Yes; start shipping them either back to MX or up to Boston, Philly, Chicago, LA, Portland, and Seattle. As a start.

Second step: strong punitive action against employers who hire illegals, knowingly or unknowingly, so they cannot whine, "We didn't know they wuz illegals!" Close down a few such employers caught hiring illegals and fine them exorbitantly, up to 100% of their assets. Pretty soon others will get the message not to take the chance. Those who do not hire illegals can get a big tax break -- say for 10 years. If they get caught hiring illegals in that time, levy not only fines but back taxes against them. Whammy!

And the funds thus confiscated can be used to build the wall and ship more of the border-jumpers home, or to D cities. Heh, heh, heh . . .

Would it be called "hardline" if laws against fraud, racial discrimination, assault, theft, or child molesting are enforced? These flavor words and phrases are not harmless details.

Just having a president who vows to deal with illegal immigration caused a slowdown and a large amount of self-deportation. Cutting off the funds and putting heavy tariffs on money wired out of country would be a huge fix.

310 LG's in fridge icemakers use stainless steel for critical moving parts, vs. Samsung, which relies on cheap-but-pretty blue tinted plastic to serve for such parts.

Same depth of engineering extends to simple things like hinges, drawer slides, the steel attachment points for the glass shelves, and etc.

LG might not be the high end fridge that is a Viking or SubZero, maybe not even a Kitchen-Aid. But it beats the crap out of it's other Korean competitor, and at a nearly-even price point in the doing. But no modern fridge has any edge on the 1960's Frigidaire that accompanied my growing up, through H.S., and until my Mom passed in '78, when I liquidated and sold everything. That jet-black fridge was as stout as a gun safe, and just as heavy, too!

BTW, should Republicans take the House in November, the gravy train that Democrats have been wheeling into those states in the form of federal tax dollars, stops. Then all those states like NY, NJ, etc. who have used the federal taxpayer dollars to stay liquid, and who are losing population and revenue, will meet their fiscal nemesis.

456 So all of the early musicals that included sourced music because producers were worried that audiences would question where the music was coming from (stuff like 42nd Street) aren't musicals?

Well the difference is between movies where music and singers are spontaneously bursting into song with no logic or pattern, and movies where music is played in them. Its the difference between "this drama has a band that plays in some scenes" and "the lead singers bust out singing instead of talking, usually without any visible musical accompaniment"

For me, at least. I mean, Spinal Tap isn't a musical. The Commitments isn't a musical. That Thing You Do isn't a musical. Just because you have people singing and playing music does not suffice.

The man who shot and killed the Greenwood Park Mall shooter was ID’d as Elijsha Dicken, 22, of Seymour. He was shopping in the mall with his girlfriend when he engaged shooter Jonathan Sapirman, 20, of Greenwood.

Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison described Dicken’s actions as heroic, saying the engagement was “tactically sound”, though, as far as police know, Dicken had no police training.

Dicken was able to kill Spairman by shooting him several times at 5:57 p.m., just after Sapirman started shooting. He had been in the mall restroom for over an hour before he came out and shot his first victim near the restroom door with a .556 rifle, before going into the food court, shooting several more people.

Sapirman tried to retreat back into the restroom, but fell dead from Dicken’s bullets, which were recovered, aong with rounds shot by the shooter.

I'll just pick DC and the homeless who CAMP OUT in the entrances of the Metro stations. Go to Thomas Circle and Dupont Circle and the neighborhood northeast of the White House. These people have set up huge tent cities with no sanitary conditions or order. They shoot up and get high and commit assaults at friend and foe alike. And the city does nothing. You have to wear a mask, but the homeless people spread disease with puke and piss and shit in the open sewers of DC. They don't want to fix it. They want to expand it and EXPLOIT it.

475 Any opinions on amana appliances. Still looking at refrigerators. Near impossible to get what I want in my AO. It's getting desperate.
++++
Amana is one of five major brands under Whirlpool.

******************************

One thing I'll add: be careful about the icemaker. If you have an old icemaker that you want to use in the new fridge, check the existing connecting cable at each end. There are newer Whirlpool refrigerators and icemakers that use a 5-pin connector and cable, whereas the old cable and icemaker use a 4-pin connector. (Bonus laff: the new connector STILL uses only 4 wires; the 5th pin is empty).

The only place I've found that has a 4-pin (old icemaker) to 5-pin (new fridge) connector cable is a guy on eBay, from whom I bought mine.

Actually it's not Mexican citizens who are the problem. Immigration numbers with Mexico are now a net negative - more people returning to Mexico than coming here. Mexicans who are staying here are leading the charge in making Hispanics leave the dems.

Now "refugees" from shithole central american states is another story.
