Furry Fury Cafe

yorkenglandbymoumita.jpg
The Shambles,
York, England
by Moumita

Thanks to andycanuck and other commenters for pointing out what (recreated) street that is.

When monkeys throw a pool party.

When a dog doesn't have a pool, but wants a pool party anyway.

Very drunk girls.

A St. Bernard mom pets her puppy.

"Can I borrow this?"

Fan-blown furface.

Friends hanging out on a rainy day.

Not happy about his haircut.

Bunnies are in your flowers again but they're so cute.

Makin' fun of the hot girls.

Features of old houses whose uses are now mysterious to most.

The below video is not sensitive content. You can click on it. I've given it a racy introduction but trust me, the video is fine.

When a bear catches you masturbating.

Emmanuel the Emu doesn't listen to no girls.

Emmanuel's owner tries to thank the internet for making the video viral, but Emmanuel is as God made him.

I think Emmanuel is seeing the camera mounted on the tripod as a skinny, weird-looking emu and is fighting it for dominance. The owner needs to drape furs over the tripod or something to make it look non-emu-ish.

Either that or he's just a dick.

More of Emmanuel at @HiTaylorBlake.

Her animals just walk all over her.

116 Missed the Tucker thread, but I wanted to point this out:

Ronald Reagan as we all know went from acting, to union president, to spokesman for General Electric (where he honed his conservative views).

Tucker has gone from light weight squish on CNN, to a fairly strong America First voice on FOX. Like RR, he's in a position to be visible while honing his message.

Absolutely no reason he can't run for office, though I would recommend he start at a state level (like RR did).

Show you can handle the administrative tasks and go from there.

Not sure why pain is a problem, religion wise. Without some signal you can't ignore for long, people would rip themselves up and not take care of injuries. That's why leprosy was so bad - the damage to the numb areas doesn't get noticed and goes untreated.

Never seen the Winchester House in CA? Its got lots of stuff like that. An elderly heiress rebuilt and remodeled endlessly and there's lots of mistakes as she did a lot by eye. Some of it makes sense, like a very gradual ramp as she got older for a wheelchair or just walking.

History puts a lot of spiritualism behind it, but I have a simpler explanation. She was rich and alone, so why not have a lot of carpenters and builders about for company and keep busy seeing things progress. She could then deflect all the grifters trying to cheat her out of investments by saying she had other projects going on first.

202 I believe that I once heard that those style of buildings have larger second and third floors because you were taxed by the square footage of the ground floor.

I hadn't heard that one [probably true] but there was a window tax too [18th Century at least -- I don't know how long or if earlier] so you'll see downtown townhouses in big British cities that have had every second set of windows bricked-up!

First, good job raising your child. If he/she is asking these kind of questions, he/she has genuine interest in the answers. Be honest: if there is something you don't completely understand, let your child know that too. These questions stump adults, so it's okay to spend time pondering the answers. But it's an awesome opportunity to study Scripture with your child, for what the Bible says about each of these questions.

264 My philosophy in general is that if a kid can ask a question like why God doesn't answer every prayer, or how a bow makes arrows move, he deserves the best answer I can give him. So he gets pretty long answers to his questions, and maybe it goes a little over his head sometimes, but at least he has something to think about.

I admit I did dodge the where babies come from conversation, though. ("I know the baby grows in the mommy's tummy but HOW does the baby get there?") I told him that both men and women are needed to make babies and that I would explain more about it as he got older. Wasn't quite prepared to talk him through which parts do what just yet.

(I forget who asked above, but "the problem of pain" is sometimes also phrased as "why does God let bad things happen". It's a topic that has spawned quite a few apologetics and atheists over the years.)

271 263 I ve never had Confirmation students deliberately try to be pains in the backside, but maybe this has to do with teens just enjoying being pains in the backside and thinking they were being clever.

272 I'm sure the ONT is coming so I'd like to share that I've now lost 27 pounds. Was originally shooting for 30 but now I'm gonna go for 33.

After a long "pause" I kickstarted everything into gear again by doing a 12/12 fast daily and by lowering carb intake. Has also helped my Crohn's symptoms. That is all.

274 (I forget who asked above, but "the problem of pain" is sometimes also phrased as "why does God let bad things happen". It's a topic that has spawned quite a few apologetics and atheists over the years.)

Aka "Why does God allow suffering?"
People spend lifetimes on that question

I've always been ok with bad things happening to good people, but what I can't understand is bad things never seem to happen to bad people.

276 My philosophy in general is that if a kid can ask a question like why God doesn't answer every prayer, or how a bow makes arrows move, he deserves the best answer I can give him. So he gets pretty long answers to his questions, and maybe it goes a little over his head sometimes, but at least he has something to think about.

They're asking the questions for a reason, and I'd much rather my kids get the answer from me rather than from TV or the internet or their peers.

278 Well InCali, for that, I like to remember this verse: "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord; I will repay."

I, um. I might need to work on my faith a little bit.

279 "Why does God allow evil to exist?"

I rather like the answer given bt The Almighty (Ralph Richardson) at the end of Time Bandits. " Oh well, free will and all thar, you know."
