Wednesday Morning Rant [Joe Mannix]

mannixape2.jpg

Recklessness Born of Contempt

Another week, another Laptop From Hell story. Unable to control the problem, they've moved apparently to seeding in falsehoods with the main event (see the sidebar) - but the story cannot be stopped and it is essentially Hunter Biden's fault. He is an example of a phenomenon we've seen before, although his case is much more obvious: these people have no respect - for themselves or for others - and behave as if there are no consequences.

The Laptop from Hell itself came from a repair shop because of an unpaid bill, but even that breakdown in reasonable behavior isn't the worst of it. Hunter - though he is merely the biggest example - sends things in plain language via E-Mail. He syncs his illicit photos and non-email communications to public cloud storage. Revelation after revelation has exposed an appalling absence of both common sense and very simple security practices.

The disregard of even simple security protocols is shocking for what it reveals about his mindset. Nobody even remotely worried about getting caught would ever behave this way. Non-connected criminal networks don't do this. Your average mafia don or even street-level dope slinger is much more careful than our ruling-class elites. The continuing evidence of total security failure can only be explained, in my opinion, as a "right of power" kind of attitude. They have the power and they know it, they are unconstrained and they know it, they are free of consequences and they know it, so they behave with the cavalier attitude of men afraid of nothing.

Nobody with a modicum (or is it emoticon) of shame or fear or consideration of consequences would ever behave so recklessly. This degree of disregard for security requires a level of entitlement so great that it speaks to breathtaking levels of contempt. Contempt for the law, contempt for integrity, contempt for ethics, contempt for honesty and, most importantly, contempt for the people and for the country as a whole. Anyone without the requisite contempt would behave carefully. He would use burner phones and local encryption and careful document control. He'd keep track of his things but he would also ensure that his things were useless if he lost them.

The IT departments at major corporations do this. Even Hillary Clinton did this to some degree. The Bidens simply can't be bothered to do so at all. They don't care. They're immune and they know it and no security principles or practices are necessary. It's all just so much overhead in a consequence-free environment. Why bother being constrained by security when nothing bad will happen to you regardless? Who cares about encryption or secure communications or device management or even being careful when you can always just ring up FBI assistant directors and Secret Service agents to run interference and cover for you?

But for me, the real question is "where does it end?" If they were this reckless with their own criminal enterprise, how reckless are they with the big stuff they're running now?

15 I want to thank rhennigantx for pointing me to a story I hadn't heard. I had to verify it was true, and it is.

-------
In a story that wasn’t widely reported at the time, a Democrat state representative in Ohio, Janine Boyd, proposed an amendment to Senate Bill 23 called “Exemption for African-American Women” that would have exempted black women from the heartbeat law—in other words, black babies with a detectable heartbeat could be indiscriminately killed by abortionists, but not white babies.
-------

The punchline to this story is that the House Health Committee rejected Boyd’s amendment along party lines, with all 11 Republican members voting against it and all seven Democrats supporting it.

Tucker says its all green policies.... but I'd also have to weigh in with Covid responses.... but BOTH of those things are driven by outside of the country forces.

Green policies by the superpowers and Banks, Covid responses due to WHO, and... oh... the Superpowers who pretty much forced those responses on the entire world.

I wish Hunter Biden wasn't a drug-addled sexual deviant. When the powers that be finally lose control of the story, this will be the angle they flog mercilessly. Shame? If shame were molasses, it started to ooze out of the US psyche citizens beginning about 1958. Leftists began heating the bottle in the 1960's and in the late 1990's ramped up the heat. It's now so hot that any remaining shame in this society can do nothing but hop up and down like a barefoot small child in a Walmart parking lot in Phoenix during a summer heat wave.

The answer is right in front of us, as Romeo pointed out in his post. They're so reckless that they'll destroy the entire social and economic fabric of country like Sri Lanka for no reason at all. (this did no good for anyone, not even the WEF crowd) They'll destroy the entire industrial base of Germany, pushing it down into 3rd world status, and who cares? Do it!!! They'll destroy the entire agricultural sector in the Netherlands, why not?

This is way past any nefarious plans of a "great reset", I think even they've given up on that idea. This is like the last 6 months of Hitler's rule, as the rate of executions were massively sped up just to try and kill as many as possible before it all collapsed on them. This is now just Evil purely for Evil's sake.

MUCH more careful. I used to know a dope dealer who kept his personal home (not his dopehouse) up the block from the local cop-shop, specifically so he could position/maintain cameras around the police station - in case those guys decided to move quietly, and he didn't hear them on the police bands he had monitored.

But then - he had brains. He was no Biden.

I've long thought the way an anti-*biden faction would go after rezident retard would be through his son. At some point, assuming the media does what its told, the revelations about Hunter would force some type of move. Maybe pressure to resign, maybe a dog and pony impeachment circus of no conquences. Whatever the case there's a battle brewing with these revelations between those that want the 'tard to step down and those that don't.

To Mannix's point - look at Mark Milley. He wasn't worried people would find out he was planning to violate the Constitution, commit treason, or even betray his own troops to the enemy after commanding them to engage.

He wrote it all down and published it in a fucking book.

They simply don't care.

149 The Biden's are an example of the power players rubbing your nose in it.

They know Joe is riddled with dementia. They know that Jill is a wine-mom train wreck. They know Hunter is a degenerate drug-addict. None of this is revelation.

There is nothing you can do about it, and they want you to see that openly and brazenly. It is to make you despair. Just like the fashion in which they manipulated the election. Just like the political trials. Just like the weaponized FBI, DOJ, and other letter networks. It's not really appreciably different than them having tranny reading hour for children. It isn't hidden, it's open and in your face for the purpose of demoralizing you.

They will wreck your life, your country, subvert your family, steal your retirement, take your God-given rights and bring to its knees the finest (albeit still flawed because of its human nature) nation in the history of the planet. The only thing that will stop it is the hand of the Lord, because human means can't be used to fight spiritual warfare.

Or something like that.

He said "those of us who live under monarchies have always had to deal with these problems - what do you do with the Prince who knows he will never take the throne?" Yeah I visited our big mall recently and it was really depressing. I mean, the mall looked better than it ever has, the floors and design and so on. It was really nice inside. But 9 out of 10 stores are closed and walled up, there's hardly anyone around, the food court is down to 2 barely-functioning restaurants, its just sad to see.

I got 99 problems and Amontillado ain't one." I laughed and sent it to my family text thread. My mom replied, "I know that's Edgar Allan Poe and the Cask of Amontillado, but I don't get it," and my sister replied, "It's a reference to 99 Problems, but I don't know who that is." I told them they each had half of the story and needed to put it together.

If you come to DC as a conservative they have three tools to convert you

1) Money: The left can take as much money as they need, ultimately from the tax payers of the US as they want to buy you.

2) Blackmail: The left has the Nat Sec orgs working for them. Cheat on your wife? They know. Do drugs? Then know. And on and on

3) Liable/The FNM: The left can print whatever liable they want on you, endlessly and make crap out of whole cloth.

It is a wonder that anyone stays true considering this...

He is audience, director, actor in a made for screen docudrama. Yes, there's the competition from online vendors. Aside from that, though, there are no stores that appeal to men. No men's clothing stores that sell anything beyond T-shirts, ball caps, and shorts. No bookstores or newsstands. No gadget stores. No place to get a beer while the Mrs. shops; no place to have your car worked on; no sporting goods; no hobby store; no pipe shop, etc.

Beyond the "men's section" of Dillard's and Macy's, everything in the malls now is aimed strictly at women, girls, and children. Okay, there's the Apple Store, but that's not cheap. A mall, even if it is in a good area and doesn't have feral "yoots" roaming it, is boring now to men -- and that's a BIG chunk of the population.

Was that the police chief in the foreground? If so his protestations, that he didn't know he was in command, are lies as he seemed to continuously be telling others what to do and where to go, aimlessly I may add.
It is unbelievable that it took a score of well-armed, trained men, over one hour to deal with one shooter when they knew more and more kids were being shot and others were bleeding to death.

I think I understand, and if so, it would have been far better for Trump to ignore anything Musk says. In all honesty, Musk on Twitter is a lot like us posters here - he likes to sit on the sidelines and toss verbal hand grenades out there, and the more attention he gets the happier he is. Trump and Musk are the same, socially speaking. They represent the highly successful, capitalist Alpha male with numerous women in their history, edgy and powerful.

They are battling for the same space.

Trump is the better man, because (I suspect) Melania brought him to Christ.

Musk believes in trans-humanism and conducts his reproductive life as if he's conducting IQ experiments with his breeding partner choices and is generally queer in his view of humanity. He's an evolutionist that is a practitioner of Scientism.

It had a big electronic store and the Sears had a massive TV section that during the various seasons would have one TV turned to each televised game where men would be loitering every Sunday watching the games while wife and daughters shopped. There was a giant sporting goods store, 2 bars and a pawn shop that dealt mostly in guns and other weapons. There were 2 video game stores for the younger guys.

All those are gone. Not sure what's there now. It's been 6 months or more since I've been in the place. But last time I was there it was all ladies shops, a food court, one gaming store and lots of empty space.

Seems unfair, as there already is "Hispanic Heritage Month" (09/15 to 10/15).

By the way, that is the first time I knew there existed "_____ Month" that are celebrated not during an actual month of the year, but spanning 2 months of the year. Any other examples of this?

Posted by: Sharon(willow's apprentice) at July 13, 2022 11:56 AM

My guess is that the policy is that police officers, SWAT, etc. all have to get permission to fire if not being fired upon or not preventing being fired upon. The sniper was not in any danger of being fired upon (so no need for prevention) and was not being fired upon at that moment, so likely needed permission.

Reminds me of one of the opening scenes in "Blackhawk Down" where the warlords took over the distribution of food to the people and were shooting innocent civilians. American soldiers were circling the area in a Blackhawk Helicopter observing the situation and called it in, asking for permission to intervene. Leadership stated that unless they (the American soldiers) were being fired upon, they have no jurisdiction to intervene.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that score of well-armed, trained men (local police) did nothing to deal with the shooter. Later, they used Ted Williams as a brand. The key to Sears id is the first three numbers are the mfg id and after the period, the last numbers are the Sears product number. Lists out in the internet can help you decipher what you have--this is useful for all Sears products such as finding parts for a Kenmore appliance. That product number now also allows you to search Amazon for cloned parts, usually at a cheaper Chinesium price.

Yes and no, ironically people like Bezos that allegedly have fabulous wealth is most of it is in stock of the companies that they founded. If they sell large amounts of the stock, the stock prices take a dive because of supply and demand. The stock prices, often in new tech, also do not reflect the liabilities that these new companies have because investors project that they will make fabulous profits in the future. Or, that everyone believes it to be worth so much.

For the most part, the historical average of Price to Earnings is somewhere in the low teens. Most tech companies like Tesla is 95 P/E, Amazon is 52. Exxon Mobil is 14. A maturing company's stock is more like Google at 22.

This has been my take as well.

The committee is about building a political case, not a legal one. Merrick Garland will do the legal part, if there's anything.

If Garland comes out with something, the public perception is going to be the committee's "findings", and it will taint the legal stuff with political stuff that prevents anyone outside of diehard partisans (including the GOPe and their lackeys) from taking it seriously.

Thou shall seekest them on Ebay. In all seriousness, I buy vintage tools often for a lower price than today that are of better quality. Files in particular are far cheaper and I picked up a new in box Craftsman set of Wood Chisels from the 70's still in their packaging.

Starrett is one of the few that has kept its product quality up. Wilton vises are another.

Cheap tools are useful in that if you need to mfg a special tool by grinding or welding, they often are easier to modify due to cheap steel used and have little price exposure if you screw up and have to redo it.

It's more than about Truth Social and Twitter. It is the fact that the Green Energy advocate, transhumanist, pro-abortion, anti-borders Musk is pushing DeSantis by pretending he just discovered that the Democrats have gone "too extreme" (i.e., they want him to pay more taxes out of the tons of subsidies his businesses receive).

George Conway, Bill Kristol and all the Lincoln Project clowns are all on board with pushing DeSantis too, btw. So he is clearly the establishments pick to pump up to hurt Trump.

Trump's attack on Musk make Trump look like a man, not a child and not the eunuch the establishment wants GOP candidates to be. Which is how Trump increased the Hispanic voters under the GOP tent.

One thing we do know is that he is much better at picking staff than Trump ever as. He was in the military, married, young children, has run for office before being Governor, is cruising to a second term. I really think you're wrong.

564 Yes and no, ironically people like Bezos that allegedly have fabulous wealth is most of it is in stock of the companies that they founded.

A maturing company's stock is more like Google at 2

AHH! but the fun part is when they take out loans using the stock as collateral. Now they have crap ton of cash and the here's the angle beyond liquidity: They don't pay income tax on the loaned money.

Dynakit was another big name in the HiFi world.

And they say THAT is a crime deserving imprisonment. No, that is a Stalinist view of the world. Saying "be there it will be wild" to friends is NOT a "crime" in any sane sense of the word, otherwise any politician or preacher who ever asked anyone to go to any meeting about anything could be jailed. But none of the charisma. And it was the facts that Trump had huge name recognition before he ran plus charisma that helped him fend off MSM attacks in 2016

DeSantis is a good governor, I'm not arguing that. But he has had to copy Trump's mannerisms to exude "chutzpah" because he's as dull as a dishrag.

He is irrelevant outside of FL and Twitter (where the NeverTrump and libs like Musk boost him). There is a good reason he would have lost FL to the crackhead Gillum without Trump (win was 0.4%). He will do better now for his reelection because he has a good record to run on and TRUMP has brought Hispanics into the GOP fold.

But DeSantis will be lucky to get Romney's numbers in a national election, especially once the media really starts to focus on him 24/7 as they've done to Trump for 6 plus years.

Rich Baris (the "People's Pundit" and the most accurate pollster by far) has found some really good information on this through his polling. DeSantis has no base outside of NeverTrump and FL. You can find Rich on locals if you're interested.

658 > My memory of Heathkit is of larger, more complex, and much more expensive kits. Like complete shortwave receivers. The RS ones were a handful of parts in a little plastic box with a perforated lid and they were simple projects like a crystal receiver or a DC speed controller.

You can still get all sorts of electronics, woodworking, engineering, chemistry, etc. kits from various places online. Lowes has some basic woodworking kits they give away for kids on some weekends. Raspberry Pi has all sorts of kits and add-ons you can do for electronics and programming experience.

All this fun stuff didn't go away, it's actually better than it ever was before. You just have to search a little bit and there's so much.

Not 100% what Baris is saying. You have to also factor the competition, and DeSantis crushes them just like Trump does.

I used to tinker with electronics until integrated components shrunk down to the size of an ant's butt. Most electronics now are of the disposable type.

683 It is easy to believe that Hunter is simply an addict who started out with no morals and a mind in the gutter and went downhill from there. What is hard to believe is how willing the media has been to ignore this story and its implications. When Anderson Cooper questioned Joe about Hunter's Burisma role, the CNN 'journalist' went out of his way to say that there was no proof of corruption. Really? Taking $80k a month for a no-show job for which you have no skills or qualifications in a country and industry your father is overseeing on behalf of the US, and there's no evidence of corruption? Then the laptop, then the $500k art sales. Now the phone records. And none of it taints Joe? The media have jumped the shark. There is no fixing this.
