He is generally a five- or five-and-a-half-day-a-week president, although there are times when he is called at any hour regardless of the day. These do not count. These are very brief answers consisting of a few words with no chance of a follow-up. Also, he only answers the ones he wants to answer. He can pretend he didn't hear any question that is difficult. It's especially easy to pretend you didn't hear a question with the sound of chopper wash in the background. Just doesn't seem workable.
In my youth I would occasionally attempt to eat Taco Bell tacos while driving home drunk at 3 am, but I didn't really qualify that as breakfast.
I always had to use the car vac to suction up bits of cheese, taco shell, tomato and lettuce shreds out of the seat and floor board the following morning, and sometimes wipe down the steering wheel.

The WI Supreme Court didn't just say that the ballot boxes were illegal they said that any election they were used in was invalid the results illegitimate. If that had happened on the left it would never stop being shouted from the roof tops.

It takes time but the lack of furor over Roe is in part because the general public had made a judgment a long time ago that has changed very little since the 1970's. Overwhelmingly and over time, the public hates late term abortions and a majority dislikes anything other than early ones in most states. Ditto for gun control which is why new deaths don't move the needle.

Unless something like a Cobalt 60 bomb is used, most people out of the blast range will likely survive. It is the destruction of the infrastructure, public health, food, etc. that will get a lot of people. Same for multi megaton versus the smaller warheads used by the US. If you lay on the plaza you could look up at them. I would say how this was ground zero for soviet nukes. It was sad to me that that term - ground zero - became the name of the site. There were a couple good restaurants in the village and tribeca nearby but once you crossed vessy the area was empty late at night. It was eerie and a good place to hang out.

Depends on who is attacking. Solitary strikes to cause EMP damage probably could be stopped or at least it would be riskier due to missile defense. To do the job, you would ideally have to detonate at high altitude over the center of the US. Large scale attacks would have to be from either China or Russia which could overwhelm defenses. But, most likely most of their cities would be ashes too.

Is it really? I read a bunch of stuff after reading that EMP novel and everything indicated that Congress (e.g. funding for military infrastructure protection) has completely ignored the problem for decades. I think Newt Gingrich or similar wrote the epilogue discussing his frustration about it.

For the most part, key military electronics systems are hardened and using things like fiber optics instead of landline or radio waves are almost immune. Dunno about the civilian side but some work was done in the past--most of that is guarded secrets about just how vulnerable we are.
Anyway, the most likely nuclear exchanges right now include Israel-Iran or Pakistan/India. Russia would have no need if launching because the solo blinding strike would be treated as hostile and very well could be intercepted. Russia or China would probably launch them all rather than string it out that way.

The Soviets gave up working on EMP Nukes in the 70s and 80s because they could not make them work. From what we have seen since the Berlin wall collapsed, the Soviets were trying to perfect emp Nukes to use to saturate the US in an attempt to prevent a retaliatory strike. What they found is emp weapons have a very limited blast range and they would have had to deploy hundreds, if not thousands to cripple the US in a first strike, which was never going to happen.

There are two ways to have really low numbers.
1. Be terrible and have everyone hate you for being terrible except the die-hards on one extreme.
2. Be mediocre and have both sides hate you - one side for for normal opposition, and the other side for not being extreme enough.
Carter got shit from both sides. I don't know about Truman. Biden only gets support from the very extreme on one side, which means he is much much worse.

We've tested the detonation systems more recently than that (internet says most recent was 1992) and the delivery systems a fair number of times. The nuke delivery stuff is also used for other weapons.

It seems that we're much more vulnerable today than we were in the 70s. Most cars / trucks couldn't drive without their computers (which I think would be immediately destroyed), no cell phones or internet anything (banking, etc.) An EMP wouldn't destroy us but a few strategically placed ones could make survival very iffy for many- no food, drugs, water? .

Except they have tested cars in EMP blasts. They've tested them running and shut off. Set off the EMP and see what happens. Cars that were turned off are able to be started with no issues I believe. As for the running cars, I think they will get shut off, but can be restarted with only a little effort.

The worst modern D Presidents (Carter, Biden) did exactly what the base wanted. Clinton and, to a lesser extent Obama, were successful because they did not appease the base on every issue. Trump and Reagan did what they told the base they'd do when they got elected. The Bushes screwed the base and are considered terrible presidents by both sides.

Yes the one with the big fancy fountain right off the side of the road. At some point all of that land is going to come up for auction but for now it is tied up in the court system.
