New York Times Calls a Code Red Silver Alert on Joe Biden, Noting That He Is a Desiccated Husk of Sickly Fragility and Mental Decay

Transnational progressivism has no permanent allies, only permanent interests.

Nick Arama quotes from the NYT, which has come to bury Joe Biden, and not to praise him:

And as Mr. Biden insists he plans to run for a second term, his age has increasingly become an uncomfortable issue for him, his team and his party.

Just a year and a half into his first term, Mr. Biden is already more than a year older than Ronald Reagan was at the end of two terms. If he mounts another campaign in 2024, Mr. Biden would be asking the country to elect a leader who would be 86 at the end of his tenure, testing the outer boundaries of age and the presidency. Polls show many Americans consider Mr. Biden too old, and some Democratic strategists do not think he should run again.

It is, unsurprisingly, a sensitive topic in the West Wing. In interviews, some sanctioned by the White House and some not, more than a dozen current and former senior officials and advisers uniformly reported that Mr. Biden remained intellectually engaged, asking smart questions at meetings, grilling aides on points of dispute, calling them late at night, picking out that weak point on Page 14 of a memo and rewriting speeches like his abortion statement on Friday right up until the last minute.

This third paragraph is the to-be-sure caveats that are inserted Just To Be Nice.

He sometimes attends briefings and asks questions?! Wow, what an engaged and capable executive!

But they acknowledged Mr. Biden looks older than just a few years ago, a political liability that cannot be solved by traditional White House stratagems like staff shake-ups or new communications plans. His energy level, while impressive for a man of his age, is not what it was, and some aides quietly watch out for him. He often shuffles when he walks, and aides worry he will trip on a wire. He stumbles over words during public events, and they hold their breath to see if he makes it to the end without a gaffe.

Just like another leftwing outlet did last week -- I forget which one it was, maybe Politico -- they claim this is all a case of Republicans Pouncing and Conservatives Seizing, but it seems to me that Biden's own aides are holding their breaths worrying about him committing more bizarre and/or national-security-imperiling gaffes, and they're not Republicans or conservatives, as far as I know.

And it's not Republicans or conservatives who fear Biden will fail in the simply task of walking across the room and killing himself.

Although White House officials insist they make no special accommodations the way Reagan's team did, privately they try to guard Mr. Biden's weekends in Delaware as much as possible. He is generally a five- or five-and-a-half-day-a-week president, although there are times when he is called at any hour regardless of the day. He stays out of public view at night and has taken part in fewer than half as many news conferences or interviews as recent predecessors.

Sundown doesn't like making appearances past 5:30 pm? No kidding, really?

They're also afraid that coronavirus will finish him up:

But aides are cautious about exposing him to the coronavirus. Aides are tested once a week and wear colored wristbands on the day of their test; if they plan to attend a meeting with the president on another day, then they must test that morning, too, and wear N95 masks.

And they're "equally" worried about Biden's brain and mouth destroying him:

The White House seems equally determined to guard Mr. Biden against unscripted interactions with the news media. He has held just 16 news conferences since taking office, less than half as many as Mr. Trump, Barack Obama and George W. Bush had by this stage and less than a third as many as Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush, according to Martha Joynt Kumar, a longtime scholar of presidential media strategy.

Likewise, Mr. Biden has given just 38 interviews, far fewer than Mr. Trump (116), Mr. Obama (19, the younger Mr. Bush (71), Mr. Clinton (75) and the older Mr. Bush (86).

The NYT inserts another "to-be-sure" caveat and says that Joe Biden gives more "impromptu" answers to the press than his predecessors, meaning, he answers question that are shouted at him as he's getting out of the chopper after having come back from one of his infinite number of vacations.

These do not count. These are very brief answers consisting of a few words with no chance of a follow-up. Also, he only answers the ones he wants to answer. He can pretend he didn't hear any question that is difficult. It's especially easy to pretend you didn't hear a question with the sound of chopper wash in the background.

Jill Biden spoke today at the "Latinx Incluxion" event and no, I'm not making that up.

That's a real event that was attended by real Democrat axtivists.

This sell-out cvck also attended:

Jill Bidenís speech at the Latinx IncluXion Luncheon will take place at 1PM and will immediately be followed by a panel titled, "A Powerful Case for Equity," featuring two speakers from the Biden administration and Arkansas Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

At the event, "Doctor" Jill Biden ventured this observation:

@samstein

FLOTUS, in her speech this afternoon, said the Hispanic community was as "unique as the breakfast tacos" in San Antonio.

Is dementia contagious?

Here's the longer quote:

"Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community--as distinct as the bodegas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio--is your strength."

What about the bosoms of Miami?

What a weird speech.

Are breakfast tacos even Mexican, for crying out loud? That certainly feels like an American invention, like the Mexican Pizza. (Which has just returned to the Taco Bell menu and holy mackerel is it bad. Has anyone else tried it again? I remember it from my youth as being uh-may-zing. But... either they lost the recipe, or my taste buds have completely changed, because it's just bean paste on crackers.)

Thanks to Jane D'Oh.

Biden has fallen to 29% approval in the new Civiqs poll:

civiqs29percent.png

Even among Democrats, his approval is just 62%. Rasmussen similarly has it as 65%.

Nick Arama points out:

President Donald Trump never dipped into the 20s, despite constant Democratic and media attacks. The fact that now Biden's below Trump ever was is going to drive Joe mad.

Biden screams in anger when he sees his poll numbers falling below Trumps. (He publicly lies that he never looks at the polls.)

According to Gallup, only five presidents have had their approval ratings hit the 20s, since polling was a business:

Harry Truman -- 22%

Richard Nixon -- 24%

Jimmy Carter -- 28%

George H.W. Bush -- 29%

George W. Bush -- 25%

Kamala Harris sounds dubious about whether Pappy P3do is going to run in 2024. She giggles nervously and nods emphatically at the words "if he runs," as if she's trying to signal to you that she knows she's lying but she's being forced to go along with this charade.

The Republican National Committee is seizing on Vice President Kamala Harris' statement Sunday -- with laughter -- suggesting President Joe Biden might not run in 2024, saying "if he" runs, she intends "to run with him."

The RNC Research Twitter account also noted Harris followed that hedged response by laughing "hysterically."

She's like an aging hyena who's in a rush to get her Valtrex prescription filled.

We all know that Biden isn't running in 2024. So conservatives must de-emphasize Biden the person as an opponent.

The Democrats will drop Biden and attempt to blame the Democrats' failure on Biden's flaws -- he was too old, wasn't a "good messenger," was "too detached," didn't "manage the bureaucracy effectively," etc. They will attempt to claim that the failure of the Biden Administration was due to the single factor of Joe Biden specifically -- but that all the other parts of it, from abortion on demand to the woke military to crushing the economy through lockdowns and the Green New Deal and ruinous spending and all the rest of it were just great.

They just needed a Better Manager.

Like Pete Bootyjudge. Or whatever Woke Replacement they'll sub in for this decrepit pervert and Chinese agent.

So we need to start really emphasizing that Biden is barely involved in the running of this Administration anyway, and what he's implementing is Consensus Democrat Policy.

It's Consensus Democrat Woke Policy that's failing -- not Biden per se. This policy would fail with any administrator running it.

44 Also polls.

Both newspapers and television news have seen another drop in confidence over the past year, with each losing an average five percent of people who said they had a "great deal” of trust in such institutions. Gallup has been measuring "confidence in institutions” since 1973, and annually since 1993.

Television news is now considered the second least-trusted institution in America, after Congress, with just 11 percent of respondents telling Gallup they have "quite a lot” of trust in television news. Newspapers aren't much better at 16 percent.

Sorry ace but I have tried it since its return. And it is as I remember it. Kind of bland and not all that impressive of a taste to it. Maybe you used to douse it with some of their sauce packs to improve the flavor, and you forgot to do that?

There are two differences
1. TFG had (whatever) that made many people think he was intelligent and worthy,
2. The policies are the same, but having had 12 years to advance, and at this time in history, they are 10x more destructive. What FJB is doing is not worse, but stacked on top of TFG's damage they are making the destruction more apparent.

The problem is that the Dems think (1) is their problem without understanding that (1) is a sideshow. The problem is their policies.

Ultimately, the people will have their way and the Biden junta has taken a wrecking ball to the US since that election. People are now in real fear of losing their jobs, homes, etc. and suddenly everything sticks to Democrats, their media pals can't persuade anyone for jackshit (media latest number for trust is well below 20 including Dems), and the deepstate bureaucrats and little people start eying the exits. Most Deepstaters and oligarchs were united in getting rid of Trump, not so much on other things. It now shows.

Joe's going to step aside, not because he's an addlepated old man who can barely read a teleprompter, no, he's going to step aside, for the good of the party, because those evil Republicans are ageist and refuse to acknowledge the wonderfulness that is Joe Biden.

The old line that the masses are asses is true for the short run such as one election. But, in the long run, people can recognize what is in their own self interest and do. Look up Yankelovich's book, Coming to a Public Judgment, I got even more examples from the US and other places. It takes time but the lack of furor over Roe is in part because the general public had made a judgment a long time ago that has changed very little since the 1970's. Overwhelmingly and over time, the public hates late term abortions and a majority dislikes anything other than early ones in most states. Ditto for gun control which is why new deaths don't move the needle.

Unless something like a Cobalt 60 bomb is used, most people out of the blast range will likely survive. It is the destruction of the infrastructure, public health, food, etc. that will get a lot of people. Same for multi megaton versus the smaller warheads used by the US. The bang per buck of the monsters simply does not scale that well. Those were mainly used because to hit military targets at all with imprecise targeting required it.

Depends on who is attacking. Solitary strikes to cause EMP damage probably could be stopped or at least it would be riskier due to missile defense. To do the job, you would ideally have to detonate at high altitude over the center of the US. Large scale attacks would have to be from either China or Russia which could overwhelm defenses. But, most likely most of their cities would be ashes too.

For the most part, key military electronics systems are hardened and using things like fiber optics instead of landline or radio waves are almost immune. Dunno about the civilian side but some work was done in the past--most of that is guarded secrets about just how vulnerable we are.

Anyway, the most likely nuclear exchanges right now include Israel-Iran or Pakistan/India. Russia would have no need if launching because the solo blinding strike would be treated as hostile and very well could be intercepted. Russia or China would probably launch them all rather than string it out that way.

The Soviets gave up working on EMP Nukes in the 70s and 80s because they could not make them work. From what we have seen since the Berlin wall collapsed, the Soviets were trying to perfect emp Nukes to use to saturate the US in an attempt to prevent a retaliatory strike. What they found is emp weapons have a very limited blast range and they would have had to deploy hundreds, if not thousands to cripple the US in a first strike, which was never going to happen.

There are two ways to have really low numbers.
1. Be terrible and have everyone hate you for being terrible except the die-hards on one extreme.
2. Be mediocre and have both sides hate you - one side for for normal opposition, and the other side for not being extreme enough.

Carter got shit from both sides. I don't know about Truman. Biden only gets support from the very extreme on one side, which means he is much much worse.

The worst modern D Presidents (Carter, Biden) did exactly what the base wanted. Clinton and, to a lesser extent Obama, were successful because they did not appease the base on every issue. Trump and Reagan did what they told the base they'd do when they got elected. The Bushes screwed the base and are considered terrible presidents by both sides.

Those miners won't live long so what is a 'living wage'?

483 I'm not really happy about all of this. I want him to run again. I think he'll get trounced by anybody due to a campaign that will make his previous one seem Trumpian in its energy. But at this rate I don't think he's going to make it that far, he'll bow out to grieve for Beau or something.

487 There was a developer form the DFW area that bought a whole bunch of rural land near me and was selling it to build bunkers to survive a nuclear war. He sold a whole bunch of land and then was arrested for fraud and embezzlement. I think he is still in jail.

Is that the place on 56 right outside of Bonham?

Posted by: rickb223 at July 11, 2022 07:22 PM

Yes the one with the big fancy fountain right off the side of the road. At some point all of that land is going to come up for auction but for now it is tied up in the court system.

Sad to say.... I've been to that miserable, partially melted island, in the dead of winter.

Don't miss it at all.

Posted by: Broken Apple at July 11, 2022 07:22 PM

Stationed there for four years and had a blast. Highest suicide rate of any Navy base in history. If you could stand Adak, you could stand any duty station.

492 It seems that we're much more vulnerable today than we were in the 70s. Most cars / trucks couldn't drive without their computers (which I think would be immediately destroyed), no cell phones or internet anything (banking, etc.) An EMP wouldn't destroy us but a few strategically placed ones could make survival very iffy for many- no food, drugs, water? .
Posted by: LASue at July 11, 2022 07:19 PM (Ed8Zd)

Except they have tested cars in EMP blasts. They've tested them running and shut off. Set off the EMP and see what happens. Cars that were turned off are able to be started with no issues I believe. As for the running cars, I think they will get shut off, but can be restarted with only a little effort.

Posted by: buzzion at July 11, 2022 07:22 PM

Yep, if it ain't running it ain't affected. Add in the fact that some cars are hardened against lightning strikes.

496 My kooky conspiracy theory is that Dems, along with Harris, or her backers, want Joe gone before the midterms. They think that replacing him will earn some goodwill from the voters, and they want Harris to sign any budget reconciliation bill as it will give her some sort of "accomplishment" to take into the '24 primaries.
