Polls: Terrible

The Harvard-Harris poll has a lot of terrible finding for Biden and the Democrats.

I'll give you the one good one for the Democrats: They are somehow even, 50/50, on the generic congressional ballot question. That's not great for them, because a tie means they're losing, but at least it's not showing them losing, which means they're really losing.

But how are they even, given some of the findings below? 70% of the country say the country is on the wrong track, and 71% say it's on the wrong track economically.

Even worse for Biden, the highest percentage ever say their personal financial situations are getting worse.

Screenshot (2475).png

What you assess the country's economic health to be is one thing, but when your own economic health is ailing, that's something else entirely.

39% of the country say we're in a recession now. 49% say we will be in a recession within a year.

Only 12% say we'll avoid a recession.

Screenshot (2477).png

Only 40% of the country say Biden is fit to be president. 64% say he's showing that he's "too old" to be president.

The inserts show the numbers from when these questions were asked in May. The public's assessment of Biden's brain, like his cognitive health itself, has declined.

Screenshot (2480).png

Biden's approval has fallen to 38%. His strong disapproval rate is 40% -- his strong disapproval now exceeds his mere approval. Total disapproval is 57%.

Will Dobbs help the Democrats?

Maybe, but Harvard-Harris doesn't look hopeful for the Democrats:

Leo O'Malley
@LeoTOMalley

New polling data out on #Dobbs:

1) Overturning #RoeVsWade: 45% Support/55% Oppose

But hang on now:

2) 37% would ban abortion entirely w/ only rape and incest exceptions

3) 49% support abortion ban after 6 wks

4) 72%!! support abortion ban after 15wks

So a near-majority would ban abortion after six weeks, which is about the time when a fetal heartbeat can be detected. The idea that a Fetal Heartbeat law would be well inside the Overton Window is... amazing.

And 72% -- a crushing supermajority -- would support the Mississippi law's 15 week limitation.

Now I don't expect the Mississippi GOP to stick to that 15 week limitation. They'll ban abortion outright.

Still... assuming that the GOP doesn't push for total bans on abortions in states that won't support it, and keeps to 6- or 15-week bans, at least for now, Dobbs might not be a problem for the GOP.

A Monmouth poll shows abortion to be a relatively low-priority issue:

Ryan Struyk
@ryanstruyk
Biggest concern via Monmouth poll:

33% inflation
15% gas prices
9% economy
6% bills/groceries
5% abortion
3% guns
3% health care
3% unemployment
2% tuition costs
2% housing/rent
2% safety/crime
1% civil rights
1% climate change
1% coronavirus
1% education
1% illness

That Monmouth Poll also puts Biden's approval at 36%.

And:

Currently, 54% of Americans say the middle class has not benefited at all from Biden's policies. This is up from 36% one year ago and it is also higher than 36% who said the same about former President Donald Trump at about the same point in his term (April 2018 ).

Going back to the Harvard-Harris poll: Only 30% of Democrat voters support Biden for the nomination for 2024.

Screenshot (2481).png

And on Harris being the "favorite" to replace Biden if he should not run (and he really shouldn't), she's really no one's favorite at all.

Nervous Democrats pray for anyone but Kamala Harris as 2024 nominee

Democrats are despairing about the possibility of Kamala Harris becoming the 2024 nominee if President Biden doesn't seek a second term in office, insiders told The Post.

Three polls just this month show more than 50% of Americans hold an unfavorable view of Harris, and those headwinds will likely only increase should Republicans retake the House next year.

"Her main problem is not being a woman or mixed race, her problem is she has low ratings just like President Biden," said Larry Sabato, a professor of Politics at the University of Virginia. "If Biden were riding sky high, she would be doing relatively well as well. She would be seen as a popular successor carrying on a popular president's mandate."

Political donors -- who all requested anonymity to speak freely -- are similarly beside themselves.

"She seems completely useless. No one involved in this administration should be in the running," one significant Democratic donor told The Post.

Democratic insiders have fretted about Harris' own bungled 2020 presidential campaign, during which she dropped out in December 2019, with an operation widely derided at the time as disorganized and riven with infighting.

Since being elected, those issues have continued to simmer, with her vice presidential office frequently in the news for staff turnover, with at least a dozen leaving. In April alone she lost her Chief of Staff, Tina Flournoy, and Deputy Chief of Staff Michael Fuchs. Staffers have griped anonymously that the mood internally is "dour," "chaotic," and that they are "treated like s--t."

"She doesn't know how to build a staff that has a common purpose. You see a lot of her staffers are doing their own thing. There is little guidance from her and it just looks messy all the time and all she can do when asked about it publicly and privately is giggle," lamented a top Democratic staffer on capitol hill.

"I just don't think people are seeing her as a serous contender," he added. "If she weren't the vice president she wouldn't even been ON the list."

Dislodging Harris, however, won't be easy.

Get that passed, and then wait a year before any further movement.

Yeah Democrats are always up by quite a bit in generic congressional polling, and if they aren't its not a good sign, as polling goes. I mean, if you believe they have any value. But historically yeah. 50/50 means very bad for the donkey party.

I think everyone here knows how I feel about polling, but the polls did not show Romney running away with anything or Obama having cratering approval numbers.

Now I'll argue until the grave that they stole the election from Romney (kind of obviously) but not by much. He would have squeaked out a win, and been no better than Obama in office, but for the cheating.

The reason why the DoJ is suing to stop voter ID is not because it is unpopular, it is immensely popular.

That's why no elected officials will vote for abolishing it. The Dems do all their heavy lifting through federal courts.

Same as abortion, actually. The Dems had 49 years to codify Roe like they did Brown vs Board of Education or countless other victories.

But they didn't. Not even Obama was willing to do it with his crushing majorities.

People identify is "pro-choice" because it is more socially acceptable, not because they favor abortion until the moment of birth.

So the polls say that Americans are blaming Biden for the country's decline, but not blaming Democrats in general.

And yes, they're really losing, but all they need is to have the polls say it's close and they can justify their steal. Women outnumber men in elections for the past few elections. Democrats are working women up into a frenzy to come out and vote in 2022. They're going to ride Roe outrage to November and use it to either win or explain the "win" after they steal the elections.

77 So the polls say that Americans are blaming Biden for the country's decline, but not blaming Democrats in general.

And this is why it's dumb to blame everything on Biden. Conservatives need to learn from what the Democrats have done for decades. They blame everything on the Republican Party, not just one person. They didn't blame everything on President Bush back in 2006, they tarred and feathered the entire GOP with every single negative issue.

That is what the right has to do. Stop blaming Biden for everything. Wrap this around the necks of the entire Democrat Party.

Very well could be.

I'm just saying as I analyze that data, that I would read it as the rising cost of everything and it's impact on the economy is 12 times more important that the next closest issue that isn't related.

So if I were campaigning that would be my one and only focus in messaging. I'd just make a silent commercial with a guy going about his day, riding a bike to work, staring at a $10 sandwich sign at lunch, picking up something at the supermarket then putting it back down and getting the generic version, getting a stack of bills out of the mailbox, and then putting a package of Ramen noodles into a pot of water, before sitting down in a dim room in a worn out couch.

Then it would say "This is the America Democrats want for you."

93 The D party takes a shellacking at the midterms, then the R party gets in and does what it does. One of them gets a President elected 2 years from now, and the oligarchy rolls on, doing what it does, distracting the nitwits with these things they call elections.

That is why I disregard fears of elections being canceled. This is where I am now: its all just show and elections are meaningless. Plus, the Dems know that no matter how completely they are turfed out in one election, they will be back in power in a few cycles so nothing they do matters. They simply CANNOT upset voters so badly that they won't get back in office soon enough to continue their destruction.

152 I think Sniffy Joe is on autopilot now. After 50 years of Senate bloviating, he can do it in his sleep. His handlers just tell him what to be passionate about and then wind him up with whatever drug cocktail they're giving him and send him out there, with a few basic stage management directions. I'm sure they could tell him to say something the complete opposite of what they told him yesterday and by golly, Scranton Joe would just as passionately advocate for it as he did for the opposite thing the day before. And give you his word as a Biden.

188 The thing that hits me like a punch in the mouth with respect to the economy is this.

-The vast majority of voters, D & R both, are sensitive to the economy. Bill Clinton was right with, "It's the economy, stupid."

- The huge increases in gas prices -the easiest thing to measure - aren't just a nuisance to this vast majority, they impact the day to day lifestyle of individuals and families.

-This has all happened under Biden's watch. Not Trump, Biden. No way to spin this.

- Amazingly, the Biden administration has continued to double down, saying, basically, "Suck it up plebes, this is the way it will be for the foreseeable future. Because Green New Deal." They are lying, sure, but IMO they really aren't trying all that hard to obfuscate or sugarcoat things. Because you can't.

-In spite of what should be an insane blowout for the next four years Republican (Stupid) party, I sincerely believe that Michelle Obama has a 50% or better chance of being our next President.

That is not, by itself, an indicator of fraud.

It is known that certain areas lean one way or another and that their votes will not be tallied until a given time. Once those areas come in, you can figure out which way things will go.

Thus, saying "Yeah, see what the returns are by 11" doesn't necessarily mean you are cranking out fake ballots. It usually means "the counties we are using as a yardstick normally report by then."

223 A way under-reported story will slam the Democrats very soon, and that is the SCOTUS refusal to set aside the California gig worker law.

Independent truckers were outlawed in California, on the theory they really are company drivers being offered no benefits. An amazing statement, given that truckers are highly valued, and offered jobs every time they pass another truck (advertisements for employment are ubiquitous).

The impact will be felt suddenly and dramatically as the law is enforced, and supply chain impacts will be national as well (since Ports of Los Angles will be impacted).

This is serious stuff, and will cause food shortages in California stores on top of ongoing consumer products shortages, as well as slowdowns in unloading ships and transporting goods across the country.

Yes, but 2012 was in person. The fraud of 2020 was only possible because so many ballots were mailed in.

In a lot of states, there is no provision for early counting of what would normally have been a small amount of absentee ballots. So when 20x the normal number turned up, that offered the opportunity to 'juice' them.

That exploit opportunity did not exist in 2012 or 2016.

The stupidest/vilest thing about this is they are actually presenting sex, like in MP's history of the world movie teaching sex. Animals like humans already know how to have sex damnit! The only purpose is to groom them for early sexual access. It's so apparent to anyone with a brain that this is not teaching as much as breaking down the kid's sense of dignity and self-respect. And that is done so that adults can more readily access them for sexual pleasure.

No one is in the dark about this. This is another instance where evil is being done in the full light of day and no one can claim ignorance.

True. But today's Dems are bat guano insane and aggressively destructive. Look at all the damage Biden has wrought in just a year and a half. I'll take practically any GOP person (not you, Romney and Zombie McCain) over that. We just have to work to get good people in the primaries. People like Bannon seem to have had some success with that.

The behavior of the Democrats (especially after Dobbs) puts the lie to the "Pro-Choice" label. Their behavior is alienating people that would be sympathetic to some, limited, abortion, but the Moloch worshipers will only settle for killing babies anytime they feel like it.

Personally, I have gone from being ambivalent to wanting a complete ban on abortion. Abortion requires denying the humanity of the unborn, and that is a completely false position.

310 Just saw an article that the dollar is FINALLY starting to recover.

M2 money supply from Fed
https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/M2SL

Note that between 2020 and last month, they turned the spickets on, going from 15 Trillion, to over 21 Trillion... CAUSING A BLOATED MONEY SUPPLY... thus causing inflation. Then, look at last month, the very end of the chart, where they show a DECREASE... and suddenly, mysteriously, the dollar starts to rebound.

This was all done on purpose folks... plain and simple. You cannot inflate the money supply by well over 30% with no real increase in production, without it causing inflation.... this is F'n Econ 101.

people worrying about inflation is so tiring. but curious here - what's inflation if not for bills/groceries? in other words how are they measured differently? gas prices, bills/groceries, housing/rent - are these segments of the inflation number?

I’m guessing ppl worried about inflation are ppl who cannot define inflation.

I don't know how warlock could be anywhere. The 2nd vote result after 2020 occurred within the context of a whole lot of hate of GOPe by R voters for throwing the election. Now the scummy SoS that was in on it being maintained this year is going to keep some of that hate in play. The SoS might be even more blatant about vote theft this year. He actually laughs and sneers about it when challenged.

I guess the next election will be the one in which we finally find out if GA has become dead-left. It's too bad really. It isn't hooked up to the money trough like Maryland or Virginia so it will just become another dying state like Illinois with ATL becoming detroit.

That Warnock poll got pretty much destroyed. Walker will win pretty easily. Oz will have to overcome GOP concerns - that gap will close as the election gets closer - especially if Trump campaigns for him. Kelley is already fading.

Oz will also have to overcome Philly in addition. That will be a big hill. Kelley will not get help in AZ. The loopholes are closed. Laxalt will overcome a fading Reid machine. And Walker is a god in Georgia. Kemp cannot afford to screw him - and the state is running Atlanta now.

OK, if we're doing silly pessimism:

The Constitution will be eliminated. Barack Obama will be King for life, with his daughter Malware as the Queen in waiting. Michelle will be the Supreme Court, and Hillary will have absolute control over the banking system.

Brian Stelter will be press secretary. All snacks brought into the Briefing Room will be made from potatoes, by decree.

While total ban of abortion is preferable, last thing they need right now is to give Biden a win by allowing them to be labeled as "extreme" 12/16 seems palatable for most, and it then allows them to bring the pressure on Dems, because the Dem will have to admit they want abortions up until 9 months.
