Indoor Fireworks Cafe

crazydog.jpg

I think this is showing that if a bicyclist rides his bike "superman style" going downhill, he'll go faster just coasting, due to reduced wind resistance, than he will if he's actively pedaling (but showing his full body to the wind).

4 Evening.

Willowed.

So I'm reading this thing Ed Morrisey linked about the Catholic Church...

https://tinyurl.com/23dppvmw

It's talking about a reform of the Curia. The Praedicate Evangelium. It's a new constitution. The Church has a constitution? I thought all they used was just the Bible plus all the weird twisted shit they've had secreted away in an archive for 2,000 years.

Anyway, intersting stuff. What do the Catholic 'Rons think if all this?

126 Two toed sloths are coloepus, and are apparently the closest living species to the giant ground sloths.

I think Three toed sloths have more character.

At one point on the Pacific coast of South America was an aquatic species of sloth that lived on marine plants, like a type of sea-cow. It went extinct after the Isthmus of Panama was formed, cutting off warmer currents that came in from what is now the Gulf of Mexico.

Some people would bring back the Mastadon and Gompotheres, and some the Auroch, I would bring back the various extinct Xenartha species.

Sorry. Anarchism has been involved in almost every revolution from Marx to Spanish Civil War.
Straight from Wiki:
Anarchism is a political philosophy and movement that is skeptical of authority and rejects all involuntary, coercive forms of hierarchy. Anarchism calls for the abolition of the state, which it holds to be unnecessary, undesirable, and harmful. As a historically left-wing movement, placed on the farthest left of the political spectrum, it is usually described alongside communalism and libertarian Marxism as the libertarian wing (libertarian socialism) of the socialist movement, and has a strong historical association with anti-capitalism and socialism.

to go along with your knowledge of the LP platform for the last several elections, the Anarchists and the Libertarians would be delighted SOMEONE outside of the movement cares enough to know this stuff.

The Wobblies and old school anarchists were trying to destroy a system using violence, the Spanish anarchists were trying to create a Paris Commune and violence, unfortunately, was a principle part.

Malice has stated that old school anarchism was violent, so I am not sure what Malice is trying to do, but I suspect it is more of an agorist bent than anarcho-socialism

Liberal leaning? They are straight up commie.

And the idea that so abhors the Brennan center is that "state legislatures" might determine the time and manner of federal elections, and not include other state entities not specifically mentioned in the constitution such as governors and courts. That would somehow radically alter American Democracy or something to that effect.

Yep. Corrupt as hell but he cared about his home region. He was funny. One of the knocks on him was he was mobbed up while Sheriff of Trumbull County. Now anybody who grew up in that area in the 70s and 80s will know is that EVERY politico and business were mobbed up. I grew up near YTown (New Castle). It was very mobbed up.

196 Straight from Wikipedia:

At the turn of the century, anarchism had spread all over the world. It was a notable feature of the international syndicalism movement. In China, small groups of students imported the humanistic pro-science version of anarcho-communism. Tokyo was a hotspot for rebellious youth from countries of the far east, travelling to the Japanese capital to study. In Latin America, Argentina was a stronghold for anarcho-syndicalism, where it became the most prominent left-wing ideology. During this time, a minority of anarchists adopted tactics of revolutionary political violence.

Sounds totally non-violent and fluffy bunny love.

And then there is confusing information. For example when Douglas started to build the TBD-1 Devastator the interior was painted a silver dope color. No one knows when it happened but interiors started to be painted Green Zinc Chromate on the production line. And there was a US Navy directive that when a TBD-1 went in for major overhaul, think it came out in 40 or 41, the interior would be repainted Green Zinc Chromate. *shrugs*

Smoke bomb bounces off the window into the paper bag full of unlit smoke bombs on the seat. The bag erupts into flames and smoke. The driver pulls to the side of road and we all bail out. The driver screaming at the idiot to get the bag before it burns the car up.

Stupid kid jumps in the front seat and kicks the bag out the driver's side engulfing the driver standing there.

Police pull up and asks what's going. We give a song and dance a guy dropped his cigarette match in the bag of smoke bombs. Don't think they bought it but they let us go. Glad I didn't have to explain burned seat to grandma.

240 The South Carolina connection to the Doolittle Raid is a myth made up by news media when they dragged out of a lake a crashed B-25C Mitchell. Last I heard that B-25 is still being restored.

The Raiders trained at one of the satellite fields at Eglin in Florida.

As for take off. Yes, Hornet turned into the wind. Engines would be revved up for maximum power. Flaps were supposed to be dropped. And when it seemed the bow was going up, brakes released and the bomber sped down the flight deck careful to keep their left main wheel on the painted line. Plane #7, "Ruptured Duck," forgot to lower the flaps but still managed to get airborne.

In 2013 at the last Doolittle Raider reunion got to shake hands with David Thatcher who was Lawson's gunner. Ed Saylor and Dick Cole were there along with G.V. Glines. Robert Hite, the only other surviving Raider, could not attend due to failing health.

That is probably the logical answer. But maybe slightly wrong also since the TBD sometimes had a three man crew if the plane was being used as a level bomber, the bombardier was laying on his belly directly beneath the pilot.

We still had speaking tubes installed in the mid 1980s on ships I was in. But we used telephones.

So the tube was to the bombardier? Those intercom systems were fragile, so this was a back-up.

311 Anyway back to the Ju 87B-2 Stuka which had started a whole different discussion of interior colors between a friend who is building a Ju 87D and me.

November 1941 the Luftwaffe ordered all cockpit interiors to be be painted RLM66. The B-2 was produced before and after this date. So some of the B-2s were painted in RLM02.

But wait it gets better, prior to that some on the Internet say the interiors were bare metal. But other published sources say they were painted in 7107 Gray 41.

And people think it was only late war Luftwaffe aircraft that had paint issues... ha!
