  • Say, whatever happened to that fancy Asus "Space Edition" laptop? Did it ever make it to market?

    Yep. (Amazon)

On the one hand, kind of expensive.

On the other hand, with an i9-12900H it's nearly three times as fast as the laptop I'm using right now.

On the third hand, Amazon's spec sheets are maintained by idiots. This one states the laptop weighs 9.9lbs.

17 I dropped 80 pounds over the last few years. Honestly it has been about 90 pounds. When people ask me how I did it, I Legite don’t have an answer. Sure I have my views.

1. Stop snacking, drinking, and fing around.

2. Eat foods with all the colors on the plate. Eat protein, carbs, vegetables and fruits. We all know what is legit. It is not ad if this is difficult.

I have legit lost 80 pounds over the last two years. This was during Covid. What stood out to me was how easy it was.

19 Looking at the Robinhood link another article caught my eye.

Germany Pushes for G-7 reversal on Fossil Fuels in Climate Blow.

...Germany is pushing for Group of Seven nations to walk back a commitment that would halt the financing of overseas fossil fuel projects by the end of the year, according to people familiar with the matter. That would be a major reversal on tackling climate change as Russia's war in Ukraine upends access to energy supplies.

I guess that solar panels and windmills aren't the best answer to energy needs all.

21 I do remember once in Rockford, IL working really late in a university office on network upgrade, CAT2 to CAT5, and I left just before 10pm. I didn't know that most eating places shut anywhere from 9pm to 10pm. As I cruised all the fastfood places I realized my ignorance of local customs but was lucky to find a pizza lace almost in the act of closing. The proprietor, who looked Italian, was kind enough to make me a pizza. I took this hot box and drove to my hotel. At my door I was lumbered with a heavy laptop case, my overnight bag and the pizza and door key. As I tried opening the lock, the pizza box slid to a vertical position momentarily and when I got inside and went eat it, all the toppings had slid to one end. That would never have happened with a home-made pizza. It was still edible though to a hungry person and it was pretty good. (part 1)

Posted by: Ciampino - now I'm hungry for pizza at June 26, 2022 05:29 AM (qfLjt)

22 (part2)
Home-made pizza: the flattened dough is dimpled with fingertips and coated with olive oil, then tomato (pealed or crushed or sauce from a can) is spread over that, then the cheese, then anchovies/ mushrooms/salame or whatever is next and finally cook it. That topping is now glued to the dough and it won't slip. One can also start with the tomato and finish with the oil.

45 The other day I mentioned that I had a system reboot of my new HP laptop. I suspect the SSD. Now wheher related or not, notepad.exe got corrupted. There are several copies within the various Windows subdirs but the one pointed to by the Registry had 0kb length. Several other entries in that folder were set to 0kb too.
I tried all the methods found online but to no avail. So I used Windows to uninstall notepad.exe then went to the Microsoft store and used the 'get' button to fetch a copy and install it. Fixed. BTW that button wasn't there until I uninstalled the software.

52 I dropped 40 pounds since last March. 280 to 240, with slow improvement from there with any luck.

This was the depression diet, where I ate little or nothing on some days, and much less than usual the rest of the time. My depression is lessening this month but the weight loss has slowed to a crawl. So being completely dysfunctional and wishing I had an off switch wasn't entirely without its merits.

54 31. My all time high was 310. My average over the last 20 years is 280. I am now at 225 and in many ways it has been easy. I wish I could explain the plan in detail. Someone here gave me legit shit and that was not In any way helpful. I was shocked how legit help was shit upon. Some go for bs.

It is easy to lose a lot. I did intermittent fasting; cutting calories, and lower carb. In the end, the thing that has lasted years is not snacking. In the end it is not a diet at all.

Btw ask me about low carb. I wish I had the answers but min my opinion that is no fix.

57 I decided to lose weight to hopefully solve some chronic issues. Lost 35 + lbs just by eating healthier. I started with salad greens with fruits and veges for lunch. I included kale. (I know, I know, but it really only tastes like lettuce.) After a few days it stopped my cravings for sweets. Always eat some protein every day, but seldom eat after 5pm. Now after a year, I eat pretty much anything in moderation, and I haven't gained back any weight. Did it help the chronic pain issues, you ask? Somewhat, but not as much as I had hoped. But I'm pretty sure dropping the weight helped overall

I went from 180 to just under 130 after that bypass.
I have almost zero fat left under my skin and do get cold when my kids say it's hot.
The answer, from my experience and that of others, is cut down on food. Everything else then one is fooling oneself. Less fuel less fat and more fat already there gets burnt. Just don't starve to death.

59 When they first started to include POC in commercials back in the 70's, the POC were men and usually playing basketball which I thought was a bit racist.

Now I noticed with the super inclusion of POC, they have them dancing one way or another, which I think is a bit racist.
