The annoying thing about yesterday's glorious news is that Michigan is so jacked up that it hasn't taken effect.

We're in the age of elected officials not just failing to do their jobs, they're overt and bragging about it. Our otherwise useless AG (who refuses to investigate 30 years of sexual abuse at her alma mater), went judge shopping a few weeks ago, and got an injunction on Michigan's 1931 abortion law because it's unconstitutional or something.

Never mind that the law is older than the state constitution (adopted in 1963) and it was upheld under that constitution until Roe. But since the judge is a big Planned Parenthood donor, enforcement has been stayed.

They have to do this because the awful truth is most people are not committed to abortion. A thin majority identify as "pro-choice" but when asked what actual laws they support, they are 70%+ pro life.

If you did deeper into the "most committed" you see a huge disparity. There are many more pro-lifers than pro-choicers. Remember that most of the pro-choice demonstrators are paid employees of non-profits, while the right to lifers are actual volunteers.

I've come to realize that faith is a journey and perhaps that's God's intent. Very few, fortunate people can gain that strength in faith without a lot of trips down the wrong roads. I have a Garmin Fenix watch that is linked to my phone. I literally have not had the "ringer" on my phones on for over four years. This latest has a vibrate and flash mode. If I am within Bluetooth distance of the phone, I'll get notifications on SMS, Email, whatever and phone calls through the watch's screen and control buttons.

When I take off the watch or outside of BT distance, I probably don't need the phone's services.

This has made life much better, and it returns ownership to me of my time.

I think you are precisely correct. I was pleasantly surprised when my Monsignor very publicly took Hochul to task on her abortion stance. The church has tried to take a very non confrontational stance on these central questions of faith, and that confuses and distresses the faithful. Doctrine is very clear on these matters to those who read it. Be part of Gods holy church and work for him, or don't and be something else. The injunction by a state judge is keeping things status quo at the moment, but with a GOP legislature, nothing will get through if the lawsuit fails.

As for the jam...if you're worried, just don't use it cold. Make a marinade for chicken or pork with the jam and cook it with the marinade (so add enough oil it won't burn)...or add it to cake batter as a swirl (or an add in) or into a pie filling and bake it.

Covid was found to rarely ever pass on food...and cooked food would probably be nil.

Disagree. The Dobbs leak was a warning order, and they had a month to mobilize. They even had a standby notice go out, and they knew the potential days a decision would come out.

In fact, alerts to law enforcement were going out Thursday evening and into Friday morning.
