8 Far left Democrats are going berserk of the repeal of Roe. I always thought that was a bad ruling which was based on zero legal reasoning. The Constitution does not give the federal government the power to regulate abortions. The other thing here is that the liberals have had control of the courts for decades. How to they like it now that conservatives are in charge?

55 There's more to the gun control bill, to be signed by JoJo the Waterhead this morning, than just the red flag law. A little tidbit in there is clarification on the licensing of dealers. Expect to see U Haul trucks unloading khaki clad glowies at gun shows in increasing numbers. You're walking around, have a gun for sale or trade, and the nice guy strikes up a conversation and buys it. He can't prove you sold it for profit, but you can't prove you didn't. Process is punishment.

If I'd known he was going to do this nightly vampire thing, yes, I'd have called him Angel! Oh, he has toys galore, and is continually fishing them out of the basket to play with; and I play with him using them. 111 Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

Neither, exactly. They're not as consolidated or as powerful as so many have been led to believe and fear. A lot of sound and fury and coercion and bullying and threats. That's why this ruling was so important -- to expose the fallacy of their power. With hope, many more will now see through it and be emboldened to stand up instead of incessantly caving and backtracking.

That is, yesterdays decision changes nothing with respect to abortion in their state. By the way, it's telling that Democrats most important issue, their sine qua non, is being allowed to stop the beating heart of a child right up until the moment they're born. It's inherently evil and tells you everything you need to know about their agenda.

They don't like God, because that puts limits on their own power. God's morality also points out fundamental and often unarguable truths about their conduct, actions and where they lead. It appeals to conscience, rationality and litigates questions with reason, which end in truth, or veritas. The latter largely part of the motto of every learning institution, most of whom now ignore it.

The annoying thing about yesterday's glorious news is that Michigan is so jacked up that it hasn't taken effect.

We're in the age of elected officials not just failing to do their jobs, they're overt and bragging about it. Our otherwise useless AG (who refuses to investigate 30 years of sexual abuse at her alma mater), went judge shopping a few weeks ago, and got an injunction on Michigan's 1931 abortion law because it's unconstitutional or something.

Never mind that the law is older than the state constitution (adopted in 1963) and it was upheld under that constitution until Roe. But since the judge is a big Planned Parenthood donor, enforcement has been stayed.

204 Far left Democrats are going berserk of the repeal of Roe. I always thought that was a bad ruling which was based on zero legal reasoning. The Constitution does not give the federal government the power to regulate abortions. The other thing here is that the liberals have had control of the courts for decades. How to they like it now that conservatives are in charge?

==

It goes without saying, but those frothing crazies go berserk at everything. Do they not know, or does it even matter in their pea brains, that abortion will still be available in many states? And from what I hear, many corporations are going to be footing the bill for their employees to travel for their baby dismemberment procedures? It doesn't matter. They're mindless animals who know nothing but smearing their own feces on the walls.

I was wondering too...how does this ruling not also apply to marriage? Cannot a state make their own determination on what marriage means? Another area the federal gov't has no business in.

They have to do this because the awful truth is most people are not committed to abortion. A thin majority identify as "pro-choice" but when asked what actual laws they support, they are 70%+ pro life.

If you did deeper into the "most committed" you see a huge disparity. There are many more pro-lifers than pro-choicers. Remember that most of the pro-choice demonstrators are paid employees of non-profits, while the right to lifers are actual volunteers.

A lot of people (myself included) mistake misfortune with loss of God's love. It isn't. When something bad happens, I will get pissed, but then I try to reflect what I can learn about this, and also that my suffering here is a down payment on my redemption later.

Lorenzo Scupoli has a great way of putting it: when something bad happens, you should think of yourself as being on the cross beside Jesus, and praise God for this great honor. What can our suffering be compared to His or the Holy Virgin's?

272 Pelosi, Biden and Hochul are not Catholics. Being a Catholic means you follow doctrine. All of it. They don't. It isn't a Chinese menu. They're apostates, and being in a position of power and influence actively work against the will of God and his word. It they'd actually read the Bible, they would find God has a lot to say about that and it's very clear.

I think you are precisely correct. I was pleasantly surprised when my Monsignor very publicly took Hochul to task on her abortion stance. The church has tried to take a very non confrontational stance on these central questions of faith, and that confuses and distresses the faithful. Doctrine is very clear on these matters to those who read it. Be part of Gods holy church and work for him, or don't and be something else. I am reminded of 2 Thessalonians 3, "the one who is unwilling to work shall not eat".

Michigan's law bans it completely with the only exception being the life of the mother. Interestingly, it does not punish the woman and the ban includes abortion-inducing pills.

The injunction by a state judge is keeping things status quo at the moment, but with a GOP legislature, nothing will get through if the lawsuit fails.

Stupid Dems are claiming we could be an "abortion destination," which is NOT the message they think it is.

Eschatology is a wax nose, with Revelation being the greatest letter written in the post-modern style. If you read the words of Christ in the Olivette Discourse and in the between-times of his Kingdom parables, if you read the words of the apostles in their letters, it has a very strong preterist vibe - that is, the men inspired by the Paraclete wrote as if they expected to be alive at the LORD's return. (Spoiler: John was).

The various forms of chiliasm I think is a reflection of man's understanding of God's word through contemporary influences, whereas the intent of Revelation is to the leave the reader with the God Wins In The End conclusion so that the reader will live that way confident in that knowledge.

I agree. It's the ultimate power trip and the Democrats agenda is full of opportunities to kill people from conception right up until the end.

Thats the modern lunacy of people. I promise you, there are hundreds of thousands of people up and down New England this morning, waking up with blood absolutely boiling, contemplating the complete lack of abortion facilities ... in Mississippi.

Its not compassion. Its a complete unwillingness to mind their own damn business.

356 The whole "pro-choice" phrasing is a deliberate lie.

Its all about branding. Just like the PATRIOT act and the CARES was the opposite of love of this country and caring.

The "pro-choice" brand was to make the LIV/apathetic/leave-me-alone crowd comfortable in their nonchalance and disregard of the topic.

"I don't care if someone else aborts their child, its their choice." was the desire effect of the brand labeling.

Best wishes on getting better soon - Umcka and elderberry vitamins with zinc and vitamin C (and sun) for the win!

As for the jam...if you're worried, just don't use it cold. Make a marinade for chicken or pork with the jam and cook it with the marinade (so add enough oil it won't burn)...or add it to cake batter as a swirl (or an add in) or into a pie filling and bake it.

Covid was found to rarely ever pass on food...and cooked food would probably be nil.

Disagree. The Dobbs leak was a warning order, and they had a month to mobilize. They even had a standby notice go out, and they knew the potential days a decision would come out.

In fact, alerts to law enforcement were going out Thursday evening and into Friday morning.

The Left is a spent force. They've spent 50 years crowing about how there would be a "huge" public outcry if abortion was ever overturned, and now we're at that point and... nothing except a few paid wokesters wandering around DC with signs. They still (for the moment) control the heights, but they've already lost everything else. They're a dying bunch of aristos, holed up in their castles insisting that everything is just like the old days, while the peasants begin to revolt.

382 But Roe was self-fulfilling. When the babies became "throw away" items, Fatherhood went with it.
Multiple studies have shown that the biggest determining factor in childhood development, especially for boys, is the presence of a father/male figure.

"It's three things: first, a tight pussy; second, loose shoes; and third, a warm place to shit.”

Roe make "loose shoes" more than a concept.
