The Morning Report — 6/21/22

blameschiffting.jpg

Good morning, kids. Tuesday and in discussing the complete flop of the J-6 kangaroo court show trial on last week's award-winning ™ podcast, CBD and I both agreed that while given the state of our economy and the world in general, this is about the last thing anyone could care fuck-all about, it nevertheless is an absolutely crucial milepost of our dissolution. Yet another in a long string of republic-ending high crimes and frankly insurrectionist behavior that so far have included the theft of a national election, the continued imprisonment and persecution of scores of innocent citizens, the weaponization of the governmental bureaucracy to suppress any free speech that counters the approved narrative of the junta in power and, ironically enough, the intentional crashing of the economy itself.

Just to reiterate and encapsulate the actual events of January 6th, as President Trump held a peaceful rally almost a mile away from the actual Capitol building (and where he urged rally goers to leave peacefully and quietly), a "riot" that was staged by the FBI and Capitol PD entrapped a number of unarmed protesters who were allowed into the building and did nothing more than snap selfies and gawk at the drapes. The only deaths were of two unarmed women, Ashli Babbit and Roseanne Boyland, executed at the hands of the police, as well as a cop, Brian Sicknick, who died later that day of an unrelated heart attack.

This Reichstag Weenie Roast event, gentle reader, has been called by those who planned and executed it — the Democrat and GOP-e parties, and federal law enforcement entities — an assault on "our precious democracy" (*vomits) greater than the Civil War, Pearl Harbor and 9/11 combined. Insurrection! they exclaimed.

With that, I give you an event that happened last Thursday, where an actual unlawful incursion into the Capitol occurred. And it wasn't by "reich-wing, white supremacist, MAGA-hat wearers" either. Invaluable stalwart practicing actual journalism Julie Kelly reports:

Colbert’s insurrectionists—if the word can be applied to people who walked into a public building without proper authority on January 6, it can apply here—had been denied special press credentials to cover the January 6 committee hearing last Thursday in the Cannon House Office building but went anyway. “When Capitol Police spotted members of Colbert’s team at the Jan. 6 Committee area, they were schooled [sic] away, and left the House office building,” Fox News reported.

If true, that means Colbert’s producers came far closer to a member of Congress on June 16, 2022, than anyone did on January 6, 2021. Further, most of the individuals charged with obstruction of an official proceeding in the Capitol breach probe entered the building after it had been evacuated; this was not the case for Colbert’s unauthorized crew. And since the language in the obstruction statute specifically refers to anyone who “corruptly . . . obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding, or attempts to do so,” which is precisely what Colbert’s large contingent tried to do that afternoon, they must be charged accordingly. . .

. . . they roamed the hallways after hours, hunting down and banging on the doors of other Republicans, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Rep. James Jordan (R-Ohio). That conduct by staffers working for a known supporter of Democrats must be considered a form of political disturbance, not a professional endeavor—a clear-cut case of civil disorder. . .

. . . Unlike Colbert’s crew, only charged with one count of illegal entry, hundreds of January 6 protesters face all of those charges in a single complaint. At least 210 defendants so far have pleaded guilty to the parading offense; Biden’s prosecutors in most instances have sought prison time of up to six months for what is considered a petty offense. Since Colbert’s insurrectionists engaged in the same behavior—perhaps even worse since they targeted Republican lawmakers while avoiding detection by police—the Justice Department should at the very least add a “parading” charge. . .

. . . So, what about Schiff’s role in the June 16 insurrection? Did Schiff conspire with Colbert’s crew to gain entry into the Longworth building after it was closed to harass and intimidate Schiff’s political foes in Congress? What if the lawless band of Democratic Party activists pretending to be comedians confronted a tiny, unprotected Boebert that night? One shudders to think of what could have happened.

Bingo. Given the fact that a psycho would-be assassin hopped up on leftist baby-killing propaganda was this close to perhaps slaughtering Justice Brett Kavanaugh and his entire family, but for the fact that he got cold feet and turned himself in, how the hell was this allowed to happen in the first place?

Recall every contentious Congressional hearing over the past two decades or longer and there is always a gaggle of Code Pinko disruptors and miscreants in the gallery interrupting the proceedings. The only way they can get into those hearings is if they are given permission by staffers, cops or the politicians themselves. Go back to January 6th, 2021. The only way that the "rioters" and "insurrectionists" got into the Capitol was because the cops let them in in the first place. Funny that none of them were armed, considering it's kind of hard to overthrow the government that way.

As for the no-talent, bespectacled, pseudo-intellectual douche-nozzle Colbert, he harrumphed mightily, albeit unconvincingly to anyone with even the slightest inkling of the events of the past 18 months.

On Monday’s broadcast of CBS’ “The Late Show,” host Stephen Colbert addressed the arrest of some of his staff by Capitol Police and said that “the Capitol Police were just doing their job. My staff was just doing their job.” And that his staff’s conduct “was first-degree puppetry. This was hijinks with intent to goof, misappropriation of an old Conan bit” and “just a puppet doing puppet stuff.” But “so much has changed in Washington that the Capitol Police do have to stay at high alert at all times because of the attack on January 6. And as the hearings prove more clearly every day, the blame for that actual insurrection all lies with Putin’s puppet” . . .

. . . This was first-degree puppetry. This was hijinks with intent to goof, misappropriation of an old Conan bit. … Now, it’s predictable why these TV talkers are talking like this on the TV. They want to talk about something other than the January 6 hearings on the actual seditionist insurrection that led to the deaths of multiple people and the injury of over 140 police officers. But drawing any equivalence between rioters storming our Capitol to prevent the counting of electoral ballots and a cigar-chomping toy dog, is a shameful and grotesque insult to the memory of everyone who died and it obscenely trivializes the service and the courage the Capitol Police showed on that terrible day.”

Oh, go fuck yourself in the heart with a steak knife. What possible reason was there for this less-than-cunning stunt? A plot cooked up by him and perhaps colluding with Schiff-for-Brains to gin up interest in the Kangaroo Court snooze-fest? Or an intimidation ploy against GOP congressmen? Or something worse?

As I have often stated, and it's not unrelated (accidental poetry), we still to this day do not know the connection between near-mass-political assassin James Hodgkinson and both Dick Durbin and Bernie Sanders. Beyond that, I suspect that, as Julie Kelly implies, these criminals as well as Colbert will get off not only scot-free but with an apology from the DOJ and the DCPD for inconveniencing them in their "harmless fun."

It should be noted that the DCPD is directly controlled by the Speaker of the House. Guess who that is. I know the price of gas is probably going to hit $6.00 a gallon before long and that people have a lot of other things of immediate import to worry about than this hideous show trial. But both of those things are connected in the most profound ways.

Ironically, the Leftists who shriek that people are more concerned about the price of gas than the hearings into "this assault on our precious democracy" (*vomits) may have a point. Only not quite the way they imagine it.

This is the official Democrat line.

This good article makes several key points, among them that Rich was not robbed. Also, the Rich killing wasn't popularized by the right at all, but by Julian Assange. Other than those points the paragraph, like the rest of the Democrat narrative, was true.

Indeed. Not to mention that the Jan 6 insurrectionists were there as a part of a planned and registered protest action, which enabled the cops and the congress to prepare for the event and have people at the ready. Colbert's insurrectionists just went in on a normal work day and had far greater access.

Yup. The Code Pink protests and disruptions - inside the building and often in the gallery itself - are far worse than anything that happened on Jan 6. They lurk in the hallways, accost congressmen on their way out of elevators, shout and picket, etc., right in the building. Oddly they keep getting in and receive positive coverage.

Very strange.

Indeed. REALITY ALWAYS WINS

Anytime you see a conflict between observations and computer modeling, the problem is almost ALWAYS with the model and not reality.

In some cases, observations can be clouded by misinterpretation of what is being viewed or through technical glitches that cause unusual results, so that must be taken into account.

And inflation was transient.

That this is from the New York Federal Reserve is interesting in its own right. The Fed branch that does the best work (historically) on GDP forecasting is the Atlanta Fed. Atlanta runs the GDP Now system and it is more accurate than average. GDP Now predicts 0.0% real GDP growth for Q2 but doesn't make public forward forecasting. If we went from -1.4 to 0.0, we need at least one positive quarter (e.g., the recession ends) to end up at only -0.5%.

And the NY Fed, which was wrong a mere three months ago in March, isn't at their strongest on this stuff. The NY Fed is better on banking and policy than on forecasting. That's Atlanta's domain. St. Louis has the best macro-level data. They do different things. This release from the NY Fed strikes me as more of an info op than actual normal work.

Not to mention the variables. The world is a complicated place. We don't know what all of the variables *are* in the first place, let alone how to adequately or accurately balance what we do know for the purpose of modeling. Models are always a simplification, and a radical simplification at that.

Hell, look at economics. The economy is a pseudo-natural system with limitless numbers of variables, but it is bounded more completely than most purely natural systems. As compared to the climate, for example, the economy should be downright easy to model. The economy isn't easy to model, though, and the models are usually wrong. Sometimes by a little and sometimes by a lot (usually a little - those models are pretty good as far as models go), but they're never really correct.

Essentially, it's that the sex wokeness is the flip side of the race wokeness coin. It's the way out. Convince kids they're evil because of original race sin and inborn oppression, then give them a way out of the oppressor class if they accept sex and gender confusion and commit wholly to the cause.

Deeply sinister and entirely destructive stuff. Is it any wonder depression and suicide are skyrocketing? Between the classroom and social media, it's amazing that any kids live through it at all.

How do you become an "expert" in patriotism? Is there a credentialing process? Licensing fees? Professional examinations? "Patriotism" is kind of a vague word. Although it basically means "devotion to one's country," the interpretation of that devotion is based on the viewpoint of the person experiencing that feeling. Many people are NOT patriotic towards the country as founded, but as they imagine it *should* be in their twisted fever dreams.

143 A few years back one of the prominent global warming argued that we needed to only use computer projected temperatures when reporting weather, etc., rather than using measured temperatures. Because actual measured temperatures kept disagreeing with the computer projections.

Another problem is that many weather stations are located in areas where local conditions may affect the readings. For instance, a station near a parking lot (which naturally is warmer) will have a higher reading, even though the overall temperature in the region is within statistical norms.

I am all in favor of lowering taxes but you nail it. All lowering the federal gas tax does is encourage more consumption. That's what a lower price accomplishes.

The issue with gasoline prices is, of course, not consumption, it is SUPPLY. Lowering gas taxes does literally nothing to bring more supply to market. Zero.

In some cases, observations can be clouded by misinterpretation of what is being viewed or through technical glitches that cause unusual results, so that must be taken into account.

However, in looking at actual records, there was a big heat wave in 1887 that apparently had temps well above 100 for several days. And that isn't even factoring in the 'heat index' used so freely today. We aren't going to hit record high temperatures, as in 1887. But who's going to drill down and look for that info? They'll just know it's really hot so it must be a record. The purpose, I'm guessing, is to reinforce global warming hysteria.

iirc, this week has two scheduled release days, and then I think they are done. The Justices are all on vacay at this point, probably even the Barrett family (since their kids are done with school). Roberts is probably already at his house in Prouts Neck, Maine. So these criminal protests Democrats organize are disrupting neighborhood life but, at this point, probably not the lives of the Justices themselves.

I think that's most likely why Roberts delayed the release until now.

226 I went to the 2010 Tea Party big protest in DC against Obamacare -- the one outside the Capitol where John Lewis lied about people spitting on him.

The Capitol Police were high up on the Capitol walkways, some carrying what looked like M-16s (I have pictures), but nobody stormed the building. There were chants of "Kill the Bill"

Apparently the FBI was not infiltrating AND egging on protestors at that time.

I suspect the corporate debt is going to disproportionately belong to the "plant-based food" successor company. I've read no documents, it's just a wild guess. Kellogg has a fair amount of debt and with interest rates going up, that might be a problem. A big three-way spin-off makes me immediately think that they're saving some parts while saddling the other with the worst debts.

Of course, the continued assault against science: not satisfied with claiming sovereignty over weather, sex, disease and truth, they now want to be lord over genetics and the family tree.

There are more differences in genetics between siblings than there are between the so-called "races".

Align to one of the factions and throw their weight behind it to kill off the others. I doubt they'll do this, though, and will instead capitulate to all of them while they continue their infighting. Craig Ferguson had his moments, but he's gone (I think.) The Letterman/Leno/Carson replacements have one thing in common: They're dullards. They're simply stupid dullards. They all wear the same political stripes, and have the same team of writers writing the same stupid monologues. Kimmel is stupid. Fallon is stupid. Trevor Noah and Samantha Bee are stupid. Because they all empty the same schtick because they're a hive-mind. Zero originality. It's as if Twitter employees assembled an internal group to write jokes for late-night tv.

Jon Stewart was a political dunce, but at least he had a "thing." Same with Conan or Letterman. They had their own milieu. Now, they're all just stupid, lefty-board-certified dolts.

But, to be fair, Biden is overwhelmed too. As is Kamala, the missing Veep, and every other member of the administration. The foreign policy geeks, led by Sullivan, Blinken and Milley, are criminally bad.

Stealing elections has consequences Democrats. If you are good at theft, at least put up a semi-responsible front in governing. This is incredibly destructive. Putin is winning the PR war, just as one example, cracking jokes at Biden's expense.

Americans preparing to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday can expect to fork over even more money with the average price of a traditional cookout costing at least 17 percent more than it did in 2021.

Prices for all the BBQ staples, including burgers, hot dogs, chicken, have gone up and could cost $76.94 for the average cookout for a family of four, according to the Consumer Price Index compiled by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The price is more than 17 percent from last year’s total of $65.46.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion just yet. The Red Cross was refusing to take blood from homosexual men right up until like a year and a half ago. They're likely trying to make some amends for that. The policy was pretty much horseshit and has been for well over a decade (or two). The reasoning was HIV/AIDS, which, while much more prevalent in the gay community, certainly isn't unique to them, and we've had the ability to, and have been, universally testing blood given to banks for HIV since the early 90s.

I'm pretty sure that they're just trying to make up ground for what was a pretty bogus policy. It's not woke, it's "oops, sorry about that".
