Ripe Cargo Cafe

sunsetisle.jfif

Everything looks like a hill to a baby goat.

The rhythm of nature.

Giddyup.

Penguin field trip.

Disciplined pets.

These dogs have worked out some kind of system that makes sense to them.

Doing magic for a dog, who is very, very impressed, because dogs are dumb. This is a fun one.

Okay, not all dogs are dumb, at least not about all things.

Sometimes they're smart, but in dumb ways.

The Catrix.

Rehabilitated baby monkey returned to an appreciative family.

Swans reunited after one was treated for an illness.

Border collies playing hacky-sack.

Giddyup II.

109 >>> 85 I go to assign a ticket to a customer. I select the one I want then click to assign. Only, sometimes, it puts it in the Unassigned Customer queue. I go through the whole process again and it usually assigns it second try. I mentioned at our tech meeting and was told to take a screen shot of it. There's no way to do that. I have no idea when it's going to put it in unassigned. And even if I knew, it would just be me clicking on the customer to assign, followed by it being in the wrong place.

I know there's a way to take a "video" but can't recall if it's a winders built-in thing or not. Still aggravating because you'd have to video every time and delete if it didn't happen on that instance.

Me too. The Blues went out in the 2nd round so I don't really care but would love 7 great games. Yes. This has been my contention since 2020. With what the left is doing, it is going to be the end of them, or it's already the end for us. 2020 was a data point for the latter. We'll see how it goes this fall and the next two years.

I'll also say this. We will never make any headway until this whole, jan6 was a riot and "our democracy" was endangered propaganda is destroyed. You all keep saying we need to forget it. Ending that lie is the key to the chains that bind us.

157 Here is the problem with the contention that the Dems can fly their freak flag and just cheat their way to victory.

In 2020 the Dems had to use COVID to temporarily change the rules and manufacture about 6 million fraudulent votes. And even then, they had to cheat on the margins in 7 metro areas to eek out a win.

This year there are about 9 million votes that are shifting from Dem to Republican in November, and all the COVID special rules are gone. That is a huge lift.

Maybe they THINK they can do that, but I don't see it being logistically possible. Not when you have candidates in 86% hispanic districts winning by 20 points.

If you've ever been around a company that's in the process of going bankrupt, there's a point where everyone involved realizes it's a lost cause and just quits trying. They'll still go through the motions until the creditors padlock the doors, and they'll tell everyone things are just fine while they're trying to figure out personally what their next stop will be. But deep down, there's not a single one of them left who's putting even the slightest amount of effort into it.

I drove over to a texmex place in a tiny strip mall by where I live. I get there and the whole area is packed with a hundred people outside. I just want a burrito. I park a ways away and head up to the storefronts. There's music playing and areas have been roped off and there's tents over the sidewalk. Whatever, I want a burrito. I hear some announcer say something and I dodge behind some loudspeakers and I'm so close to the texmex place now. Then I'm suddenly in a line of four dudes walking and I'm the only one without a feather boa, people are clapping, I hop over a rope and dart into the burrito place. I never checked if I won anything.

Most likely whatever Omicron variant we are on- BA1 whatever. But I have all of the symptoms- lethargic, had bad muscle aches, fever, cough, runny nose etc. But again, if you guys get this one- this stuff resolves pretty quickly.
I was vaccinated, but I only had the two jabs- my last one was in early 2021, for whatever that is worth.

I worked for a company that had a ceo installed to hack it up and sell off the pieces until nothing was left. He would hold these company wide meetings where he'd start out with a giant picture of Noah's Arc and tell us all that he's Noah the company is the Arc and most of us aren't going to make it. He'd start with the arc on land, then animals marching in. He'd say, look it's starting to rain and we'd have a big layoff. I left the company right after the arc closed its doors. I really wanted them to lay me off because there was a decent severance package and I already had a job lined up. No luck

The ceo was a goldman sachs guy. I didn't like him very much.

I noted this poll, and have pondered for a long time why statewide polling is so notoriously bad in Texas, even more than in other states. I believe a lot of it is the rural/city split, meaning that intentionally or not, polling firms end up concentrating on the large population areas and ignoring the other 250 counties. (Dallas proper, Houston, and Austin are the Dem havens) Also, I looked at Quinnipiac's tabs and they are polling "Registered Voters", not "likely voters". Which means they are ignoring voter enthusiasm, which is through the roof for GOP candidates, and close to zero for Dem candidates.

My prediction for the fall election - Abbott 62%, Beto 38%. If the economy keeps getting worse, Beto could drop below 35.

253 something that both conservatives and democrats don't understand, or ignore, about Abbott is how much work he puts into sending his message directly to hispanic voters, especially on Spanish language outlets. His wife, who is a hispanic Texas native is in charge of this, and she has long been very active and involved with the Roman Catholic Church in Texas.

Democrats are also ignoring just how UNpopular Beto is among Hispanics - this was the group that his backers thought he could appeal to, but every hispanic I know sees him as a rich white kid cosplaying in an insulting stupid way. I believe Abbott will *easily* win a majority of the hispanic vote in Texas this fall - which leaves Beto with what - university professors and wine moms and nobody else? Even black voters have got no use for him.

Jesus did not stand aside and ignore the corruption in the temple.

Does the fact that others won't listen to us absolve us from making our voices heard?

Interesting to read about false positive rate on antigen tests. Turns out, doing this at home is pretty meaningless, unless you're in a really, really hot spot for COVID.

The sense I get is that for the vast majority of people, a pos on an antigen test means maybe, just maybe a molecular assay might be in order.

The lower the incidence of COVID among the local population, the more likely a false positive (like north of 30% is possible). So, it takes data and knowledge most people don't have to interpret a result from an antigen test.

the funny thing is that this time he's *almost* on to something. But he doesn't realize the great conundrum; the Left IS the establishment now. For those of us on the right, it's easy to work for the overthrow of the current establishment, and get wide agreement. For the left, attempting to overthrow the current establishment means bitter civil war inside the Dem Party. And if you look closely, you can see it happening already.

Refer back to Lincoln, and the even wiser person he was quoting, when he said "A House divided against itself cannot stand." In this case, the Dem Party is going to rip itself to shreds as they fall from power.

He was a very good Attorney General, District Court judge, and Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court. I believe he knows the law. I've never understood the appeal as a Senator, because he's not much of a conservative, but he sure gets the votes (which again I don't understand).

At some point, there will be a more moderate governor from a purplish state who is the "new Democrat" who is not business-unfriendly, not ultra-woke, has balanced a few state budgets, and who owns a shotgun. "

22nd Century maybe? It can't work because of what (amazingly) Rainmondo pointed out in his drunken post - the dem party is going to be AOC and JayPal's party from now on, all of the "moderates" are being kicked out.

That's why it'll have to be a purplish state. He will need to draw votes from Republicans, probably in the wake of a corrupt machine or some other big scandal.

349 Yeah, I don't see how the Democrats hold their party together without AOC becoming leadership. The current party leaders are ancient and the only youth they have kept in the last decade are from the far left.

It was one thing the Tea Party succeeded at, decimating the next generation left/center.

350 Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court

He wasn't Chief Justice, but he was a fine justice. We'd all be better off if he had stayed on the Texas Supreme Court. I think. Hindsight is 20/20.

That article Ace posted about progressive nonprofits today . . . that's the near future of the Democrats.

352 Yeah, I don't see how the Democrats hold their party together without AOC becoming leadership.

I don't see how they can possibly survive with that bint at the helm.

353 At this point, the companies requiring Vid testing are those that are the most all in with the Establishment. Medical, Big Bank, any big corporate that is part of the globofascist cabal. They don't want to let go of that control option even though it doesn't work unless a vast majority of the public buys in. Keeping the testing thing alive is keeping the option alive.

354 I can see it. You can't have a Democrat organization without bending a knee to the DEI hierarchy. And those nutcases are poison to an organization.

It is fine if you are trying to field chaos like with Antifa. But having a functional organization with primaries and conventions and rules, it is difficult while having to navigate the special feelz of the snowflakes.

357 The next big thing to hammer the Establishment is that the general public is wising up to the Med. Not only doesn't it work, but it is becoming more and more obvious it is more likely to make you less healthy and make you more likely to get sick. There are now rumblings that it is creating odd structures in the bloodstream that is leading to sudden deaths in adults that should be healthy. Once this is fully assimilated, I have no idea what this does to the establishment health industry and the establishment political class. These understandings move slowly because they are spreading mostly through conversations rather than any sort of media, and they are hard to track for the same reasons.

I know we're willowed, but the biggest single Democrat constituency group that provides volunteers and convention delegates are schoolteachers. That's the core of the Democrat party, like blue-haired women are the core of the Republican party.
