Sound on for fur missile.

Alligator gets a spa day.

What Did He Think Was Going To Happen: A Philosophical Exploration. (A sequel is already being researched.)

Worrywort doggie lifeguard to the rescue, even though he's not needed.

There's a new shepherd in town.

Cool fire escape design, but, you can't have an emergency fire escape that requires some kind of electric or physical cranking to deploy. Looks neat though.

Getting back at a cat who likes to jump out from a hiding place to scare you.

"It is known that jackals and badgers hunt together"? What?

Me trying to watch any "show."

"Toss it right here, buddy! That's right, numb-nuts, right here!"

Drone light show, I think.

This is kind of like the "giant vampire bat" or "giant manta ray" toy they used to sell in the back of comic books for $0.50. Or this is what I thought I'd be getting. For fiddy cents.

Prancy doggie.

Airwalking.

10 Willowed:

Anyway, since I'm signing off for the night -

I think charging (and, ultimately, arresting) Trump is really the final play for the Deep State. They would be gambling that Americans are so cowed / depressed / concentrated on surviving that they will simply shrug their shoulders at the arrest and prosecution of an opposition party's leader.

If that is their thinking, and if they get away with it, then all the scary boomsticks in the country might as well be pop guns for all the good they will do.

Good night, all. See you tomorrow.

Because they don't exist. It's bullshit - the idea that ever cloud has a silver lining. Sometimes; most times, really, if you believe in all the written shit in history books; its misery all the way down.

Ask the Carthaginians about the "silver lining". Ask the friggin' Ukrainians during the Holodomor. Ask the Jews that didn't get out while the gettin' was good.

Silver Linings. Keep all of mine as well. They're bullshit.

The way you could do that is by making me my favorite cookies. Peanut butter cookies with a Hershey's kiss in the middle. You would be my best friend. Or at least a really good one.

So at the NoVaMoMe sra blaster's ticket was drawn for a prize so she sent me up and I saw on the table a tin. About 10 years ago I stayed at this hotel which has now sadly gone out of business. The whole place was built on wooden stilts and after the rainy season the river level grows dramatically and the entire place is over the river. After the dry season the river shrink and most of it is out of the water.

They had photos and some snake artifacts at place and some were as big as that guy in the video. We went on a hike with a guide through the jungle one day. My head was on a swivel.

125 I was going to ask: where feather boa?

But instead i will opine on the fire escape.
It looks gravity powered, so just has to be activated from top. Like door. That is OK.
But fire escape has to be wide enough for people to walk down while fully equipped fireman walks up. This is not trivial. That would fail.
It also has to be 100% reliable in rain, snow, intense heat, etc, and I doubt that would work (the heat is before fire dept. starts spraying to allow people to leave. This is why fire escapes are always open.)

I wonder how it works of someone on floor 5 wants to escape, but later it is activated from floor 10. I fear someone will get hit on head as it drops the new stairs above.

148 So now we have all of the market gains during Biden are wiped out. There is no scenario on the horizon where the markets improve between now and November. So people will legitimately be realizing that they are now poorer from an asset valuation standpoint than they were in 2020.

And also the value of a dollar has lost over 20%.

And their house is worth less.

And they are paying more to borrow money.

The Democrats are looking at an electoral wipe out right now. I don't see any scenario that improves their position between now and November, and a lot of scenarios where it gets worse.

162 Another option is to make it electric. (the fire escape, that is.) A lot of fire doors work that way where they require electricity to stay open, and if power goes off they shut.

If electric, then each floor could have a button to cut power and drop the thing starting at the top. It would also need a delayed release to keep them safe until it is done. But after a year or two it will stop working anyway. Better to give everyone an umbrella and tell them to jump.

Genoa Township Police Department

Tomorrow, Tuesday June 14, a hero will be laid to rest at Northlawn Memory Gardens. On July 20, 1950 Army Private First Class Jack E. Lilley went missing in action after his unit was overrun by enemy forces in Korea. After being missing in action for 71 years his family was notified last year that his remains had been located and identified.
PFC Lilley will be escorted to his resting place by a motorcade led by Westerville Police and other police and fire agencies after a 1:00 PM memorial service in Westerville. We do not have exact times on the motorcade but there will be traffic restrictions and direction around the cemetery when it arrives. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we honor PFC Lilley’s service and help his family finally bring him home.

No, the spinning wheel i'm getting on the 25th is an Ashford Traveler, SD ST, Scotch tension. No relation to the Louet S-17 that came with the un-drilled flyer.

I did get that one working, and discovered I really dislike the Irish tension -- I can't get it to draw properly for my drafting technique, so it'll get retired as soon as the Ashford arrives. What I'll do with it after that, I haven't yet decided.

Especially the part where it's going to keep getting worse every month for the next 2 years at least, no matter what anyone does. We've made far too many big mistakes, there's simply no way of avoiding any of that now. 233 Dominion wasn't how the fraud was done. It was absentee voter fraud. I figured everyone knew that by now.

Democrats will win a number of districts that they actually lose, the question is how many they think they can just blatantly steal through mail in fraud without going to jail.

California will be the number 1 place for that, and will probably end up with 5 seats remaining in Democrat hands that shouldn't be there. Possible that they will steal Bobert's seat in CO too.

But that will be offset by Florida sending 20 Republican seats.

Posted by: Dave in Fla at June 13, 2022 08:51 PM (5p7BC)

234 The GOP candidates are going to sweep Congress, but this is a hard point to make clear to people - it's not going to make much of a difference in the big picture. That's not really because the GOP Leadership (such as it is) is worthless, although they are.

The real reason is that Congress has become the Joke branch of government. To borrow a phrase, Congressmen and Senators today are just walking shadows, poor players that strut and fret their hour on the stage, and then are heard no more. Their story is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

so much of what we take for granted now has to be destroyed before we can ever begin to recover - for some reason, I'm feeling the weight of it today.

A lot of new people coming into Congress and many of them are aligned with Trump's agenda than with the establishment. I don't expect overnight miracles but the Cheneys and the Kinzingers and the Burrs are moving out.

Posted by: Dave in Fla at June 13, 2022 09:00 PM (5p7BC)

I agree with you, I think this has come up before. Congress has the power to stop the worst excesses of the bureaucratic state, but they have no power to actually fix things themselves.

But I do think after this election takes place, the Left will abandon Biden completely and his approval rating will fall into the low teens. At that point, I think his own people will find some way to remove him from office. (and that in itself won't make anything better, but it will be entertaining)

389 Critical Drinker side bar: This is what happened to the book industry. When I started selling books in '88, there were many, many publishing houses. And these publishers were content to make a gentleman's 5% profit. A couple years later, merger mania hit the book industry. Publishers bought each other out, generating loads of debt to service. Then, they got big enough to draw the attention of the big congloerates. The big guys sat the publishers down and told them that not only did they have to produce the same 15% profit as every other company in the conglomerate, they had to service the debt they had accumulated and the cost of the conglomerate's purchase of them. The publishers moved to a different business model, one that was best seller driven. Stephen King, Danielle Steel, and Tom Clancy never earned out their advances, but the publishers went crazy bidding on their next books. (To be cont'd)

Also, I wonder how much of a magnified effect the money sent to everyone had? That is stuff people spent right away so it is out in the wild immediately. Worse. The complex system DIDN'T come about because of top-down planning and the best efforts of "Top Men".

Successful systems generate out of necessity. It's an organic function, if you believe in capitalism. Socialism / Communism / The New Soviet Man / The Ivy League would be able to create, destroy, modify, or mute as necessary the systems that produce sustainable productivity. They can't. Because that's not how sustainable systems evolve.

To believe in Capitalism is to believe in the wisdom of the collective will, making infinite stupid decisions, yet a group wisdom evolving out of that chaos, via each cell copying what does or does not work.

If "years and years of planning" was the key - every Five Year Plan would work. Years and Years of Planning is exactly opposite of why Free People thrive. If you believe in Capitalism.
