Lance Henriksen was in Dead Man with Michael Wincott (another distinctive voice) who was in The Girl from Nagasaki with Christopher Lee.

Lance Henriksen was in The Quick and the Dead with Sharon Stone, who was in He Said She Said with Kevin Bacon.

Tomorrow's actor of the day would have been a good choice to play David Bowie if he had been born in a different decade.

University of Texas baseball had the scheduled National Anthem singer relieved of duty because the singer was seen on TV giving the upside down "Hook 'em Horns" gesture in support of OU Baseball. UT Claimed it was an "obscene gesture" and he should not be honored by being allowed to sing the Anthem.

The NCAA capitulated.

Translation: we're offloading risk asymmetrically and one of the three successor companies is the designated loser who will keep this nonsense up while also being saddled with our worst debts and poorest cashflow and least-mature markets. The suckers will ride it down and the other two successors will refocus on capital positions, operations and product delivery while they try to survive in the rising interest rate environment.

It worked fine all weekend and yesterday. This morning the little light stopped glowing and the computer doesn't seem to know it's connected to the wall.

I tried unplugging and re-plugging after 30 seconds. I tried a different socket; removed the extension cord and plugged the charger into the socket. I even rebooted the computer. No luck. There apparently is a fix involving resetting the System Management Controller. Anybody tried that?

The left will cheer their victory over the Trumpkins, but will still burn down a few pregnancy centers and attempt to murder some pro-lifers, just to teach you fucking peasants to sit down and shut up.

The GOP, relieved that they don't have to address such a distasteful issue, will send out fundraising e-mails extoling the value of the life and begging you rubes to send them more money to fight for the 'rights of the unborn.'

Ford is doing the same thing, although they're splitting into an all EV company (Ford Blue) or something like that and the regular Ford company. I've read about other companies doing the same thing. I think they're not 100% on board with the meatless, all electric, solar, wind, vegan, etc. program and are pacifying the left by spinning off leftist leaning companies that, IMO the parent company is content to allow to burn to the ground.

338 Selkies, aka were-seals: ". . . mythological beings capable of therianthropy, changing from seal to human form by shedding their skin. They are found in folktales and mythology originating from the Northern Isles of Scotland.

"The folktales frequently revolve around female selkies being coerced into relationships with humans by someone stealing and hiding their sealskin, thus exhibiting the tale motif of the swan maiden type."

Oy vey. And it's puzzling on its own terms, at least to a degree. Hydro *is* green energy. It's the greenest. Once the dam is built, it's emissions-free. Hydro is spectacular if you have rivers and land to do it.

All those datacenters that companies sited in Washington (mostly in the Columbia River valley) because of that cheap, plentiful hydro power and low land cost are going to be burning a fair amount of expensive, scarce diesel to make up the difference. I'm glad I'm not a site reliability engineer at one of those places.

389 Racism and colonialism have yet to figure in to todays art analysis. Animal rights play a role. Climate change is evident in her shoeless feet. How much is she paid, does anyone know? Would a boy chicken savior make more?

Modern artistic analysis needs more information to be fully informed.

They were promoted by people like C.W. Post as base of the Food Pyramid. The government was good to endorse that because grain farmers saw a boom in grain sales when cereals exploded on the scene.

I wonder if the whole village girl episode is a foreshadowing of how Michael's life goes. He was in love with Kay, and then he sees a lust object. He immediately forgets what he is supposed to do and uses his charisma, family connections, and strategic skills to obtain the lust object. This time there are no long term consequences and she's gone by the time he returns to the US. For the rest of the series he pays the consequences for his other actions.

475 It is funny we apparently have half the population with a gluten allergy and yet most of the "healthy" cereals are all gluten

I eat Magic Spoon cereal, which is low-sugar, low-carb, keto-friendly, gluten-free, and about 10 other buzzwords. But the important part is that it tastes as good or better than the sugary crap while being legitimately healthy. The "Maple Waffle" flavor is so good CBD would put it in Manhattans.

Fortyish woman with pink hair: I had to go for a colonoscopy the other day but it didn't go very well. The doctor was so mean, I'm not going back to him.
Hair stylist: What happened?
Pink hair woman: I couldn't stand that stuff you're supposed to drink the night before. I couldn't make myself swallow it. So I didn't drink most of it, but I told them I did. They had to stop the procedure. The doctor yelled at me! He was so rude!
Hair stylist: You're kinda young to have to have a colonscopy.
Pink hair woman: Well, my primary said I should start having them because both my parents had colon cancer. But I just can't stand drinking that stuff

Note that this imbecile gave no thought at all to the rationale for drinking "that stuff" or to the fact that she completely wasted the time of the physician and medical staff.
