The Matterhorn Bobsleds or the Matterhorn is an attraction composed of two intertwining steel roller coasters, which opened in 1959 at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. It is modeled after the, a mountain in the Swiss Alps. It is the first tubular steel continuous track roller coaster ever constructed and thus an ACE Coaster Landmark.

Posted by: Chuck Martel at June 22, 2022 10:09 AM (fs1hN) Hard to figure out how to charge Arredondo with, no matter how culpable he is. First, he and his allies are still in control of local officialdom, including the DA's office and the city council. So he has them running interference for him. And on the State level, sadly "failing to act" is not a chargeable crime, just grounds for termination. The only redress I see is massive wrongful death lawsuits from the victims families, but those will take years to play out and he still has the official immunity card to play. No, sadly I think that if "justice" is ever done in this case, it will have to be from a private source, not a public one. Posted by: Tom Servo at June 22, 2022 10:16 AM (trdmm) 209

208 See what happens to Arredondo, the guy in charge. If he doesn't go to jail, that's the tell.
Also unanswered, how did this killer get the money for the gun? Posted by: Tom Servo at June 22, 2022 10:16 AM (trdmm) Yesterday, the Uvalde mayor began running interference for all local cops on the scene. Late to the thread, dammit! Oh well. I love the use of radiant, towering mountains that dominate the scene. Then the contrast with the massive, dark trees and lower areas, huge though they are they are dwarfed by the mountains. Then the small cabins establishing the scale of nature and man. I don't think it's the steroids, I think it's the adderall or similar uppers they take legally (the percentage of athletes with "learning disabilities" is ridiculously high). there have been small studies showing that steroids prevent/ameliorate SARS II, not sure if that would affect shot reactions and how. but if your heart is already going too fast due to your "ADHD" drugs and possibly taking off-label Entresto (literally happens in middle school aged athletes, because parents are insane) ... WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden on Wednesday will call on Congress to suspend federal gasoline and diesel taxes for three months — a move meant to ease financial pressures at the pump that also reveals the political toxicity of high gas prices in an election year.
The Democratic president will also call on states to suspend their own gas taxes or provide similar relief, the White House said. Posted by: Bertram Cabot, Jr. Yay! 34 cents a gallon total in Texas. So it goes from $4.69 to $4.35. Big fucking deal. How about removing the restrictions on federal leases, (why and how does fedgov own land anyway?), and reopen the Keystone XL pipeline and drop gas from $4.69 to $2.69? (Little kids screaming and running around would be pandemonium) Nutjob shooter: Social media. Was it following that shooter in Buffalo? (big tech would really not like for it to come out. They don't want to be involved in any part of this mess) Nutjob shooter: Why was he loose on the street? Multiple incidences of anti-social behavior and violence. I think you're right. There used to be people of vision and absent that just regular folks who knew how to get things done and know how things work. There seems to be many fewer of those hanging around.
The ones that aspire to politics know nothing about how shit actually works, same with those in the bureaurcracy. People who own businesses don't know how to think independently of what regulations "allow" them to do. In short, the fast decision making and actions necessary to pull out of this dive once it's started in earnest won't be there. We might just end up eating bugs. Prayer request-
FenSon is still looking for a job. He was going down today to the place he worked last summer and he had an interview with last week. I don't know if they've already hired everybody for the summer, but he's feeling discouraged and could use some good news. Thanks very much. I wonder how many landscape artists hung up their brushes when Bierstadt arrived on the scene? Talk about an ego-deflator. He's untouchable.
The odd resurgence of Bob Ross created a niche of drunken housewife painting parties, because they started to think art was accessible. Bierstadt would make anyone with an empty canvas and a brush feel wholly inadequate. Posted by: red speck at June 22, 2022 11:10 AM (gS3OW) 439
