This is what I think of your "commands."

This is a fun, simple magic trick. It illustrates the reason magicians always say "Never give away the trick." It's because the trick is always... dumb isn't the right word. Magic tricks are clever, but they're clever in a dumb way. They exploit a very dumb assumption or failure to consider dumb possibilities. If you don't guess the secret of a magic trick, it might be because you're not thinking cleverly enough, but it's equally possible you're not thinking stupidly enough.

Once you see the trick, you're immediately unimpressed. You don't think, "Boy that magician was clever." You think, "Boy, was I stupid to not have seen through that."

So here's the trick. What makes it clever is that it's so stupid.

19 A friend who's a world class ocean/distance swimmer has a small "lap" pool next to his actual pool, the kind with a current flowing one direction, so he does workouts there without actually going anywhere.

I'm stoked the college pool complex has added two more days where they have 50-meter long course lap swimming, now 5 days out of 7. And the scenery in the recently opened and spectacular gym has been pretty spectacular too. It's good, keeping heart rate elevated is the point anyway.

Which, I pay ZERO attention to. I can keep an AM radio playing while I weld up a steel framework, or on the "empty van" legs of passenger runs, or driving around in my own car. But, if I'm on the laptop, I'm usually here at the H.Q., and I can read text at 10x the speed of having to endure a podcast or video feed. At least Rush spoke with a rapid intelligence, and it was worthwhile to hear what he next had to say.

Not taking away from the YouTube or Rumble talents. But they don't work for my particular time-juggling practices.

304 Most reliable cassette player I had, was the one built into a 1998 Honda Gold Wing. Never once did it foul or eat a tape. It just played 'em, autoreversed 'em, and gave quality sound in the doing. Even better once the J&M speakers were installed.

Bikes and thumb drives were made for each other though. Eliminates all of the CD problems with bounce, shock and etc.

Still, I'm a Luddite. I don't want touch-screens, GUIs, nothin'. Volume, tuning, base, treble, midrange, and some preset pushbuttons, and I'm good to go.

308 All of my cassette tapes turned into windshield ice scrapers. They work great for that. Smooth edge, slightly flexible, clean scrape.

Current ice scraper is Style Council.
