The Morning Report - 5/30/22

napacabage.jpg

WEEKLY GRIM MILESTONE INDICATOR:

GASOLINE: $4.619 (Last Week: $4.598, 2018: $2.74)
DIESEL: $5.613 (Last Week: $5.571, 2018: $3.00)
MEAN TWEETS: n/a (Last Week: n/a, 2018: $ !%#*%!!!)

Good morning, kids. Today is Memorial Day, and I will have a separate post in a short while devoted solely for remembrance, introspection and prayer for those who gave their lives for our freedoms, such as they are or were.

In the meantime, the beat-down goes on. While Malig-Nancy Pelosi, battling it out for the title of most horrible woman in America (she remains turkey-neck and neck with Hillary Clinton) was off at Brown University reciting her litany of horseshit accented by the occasional grand mal seizure, her husband, Big Paulie got himself pinched for drunk driving back in Napa. I assume it was near one of their vineyards. Can you blame the old bastard? If you were married to that, you'd have to be drunk off your ass just to take the edge off, even when the ball and chain is 3,000 miles away. You'd think sharing a bank account worth millions from decades of political graft and inherited Baltimore mob money would improve one's morale, but I guess even that wears thin if you're forced to endure waking up next to that beast. Meh, Big Paulie will get a slap on the wrist and the officers who pulled him over written up for not recognizing his royal/untouchable status.

Just like Broward County's ex-sheriff Scott Israel.

Just like traitor, I mean "national hero" Kevin Clinesmith.

And now, just like those wonderful ham 'n eggers at the FIB who fucked up the Larry Nasser investigation.

After all, this is America, the land of the freebie and the home of the enslaved.

Meanwhile, President Sponge Brain Shits Pants actually got within 50 miles of the southern border yesterday, albeit completely unintentionally. Considering he and his handlers are hell bent on absolutely erasing our borders and national sovereignty to China and the Great Reset Co-Prosperity Sphere, it's the last place he wanted to be. Well, at least he and Jill the Shill get to stand on the corpses of the victims and hurl invective at two thirds of the nation.

The [so-called quote-unquote "president"] is right to visit Uvalde, but there’s no reason he can’t visit the border too, even though he will most likely use his trip to grandstand about restricting Americans’ access to guns. Uvalde is about an hour from illegal immigration hotspots such as Eagle Pass and Del Rio, making them an easy stop for Biden, who hasn’t visited the border in more than a decade, next week. . .

. . . Biden’s deliberate decision to avoid the ongoing border crisis because it is politically inconvenient for him and his plummeting approval rating is not an isolated event. As Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy noted to the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a press briefing last week, Biden rushed to visit Buffalo, N.Y. after a deadly grocery store shooting by a white supremacist but not Waukesha, Wis. after a criminal who called for violence against white people mowed down dozens of Christmas parade performers and bystanders.

Politically inconvenient as in an absolute disaster, both politically and in real life terms. Crime, disease, societal dissolution and even terrorism are flooding up and drowning us. But let's blame guns. And let's blame white people with guns. Despite the fact that tragic though it is, what happened in Uvalde is essentially a statistical rarity, while black youth have been committing a Uvalde every single weekend against each other for years already in every ADI (Area of Democrat-Dominated Indifference) across the country.

There are people who get it.

Elon Musk:

"I strongly believe that the right to bear arms is an important safeguard against potential tyranny of government," wrote Musk in the email to CNBC. "Historically, maintaining their power over the people is why those in power did not allow public ownership of guns,” he added.

Ted Cruz:

“It’s far easier to slander one’s political adversaries and to demand that responsible citizens forfeit their constitutional rights than it is to examine the cultural sickness giving birth to unspeakable acts of evil,” Cruz said. “It’s far less comfortable to ask why despair and isolation and violent hatred is so prevalent in America. It requires a sick soul to drive a truck into a crowded sidewalk, to plan a bomb at a marathon, or to fly a plane into a building. It requires a sick soul to open fire in a movie theater or in a church or in a school. A speeding automobile in the hands of a madman is as deadly as is a jet airplane.”

And yet we get this from loathsome, criminal slug Chris Murphy:

“What we’re talking about is not insignificant. Inside this room, we’re talking about red flag laws. We’re talking about strengthening, expanding the background check system. We’re talking about safe storage, but yes, we’re also talking about mental health resources and more security dollars for schools. A package that really, in the end, could have a significant downward pressure on gun violence in this country and break the logjam.”

Yes, gentle reader. Elon Musk and Ted Cruz (at least in this instance) are outliers. Murphy might be a lying, filthy sack of shit but in this instance, he's probably stating the emmes truth that the GOP is ready, willing and able to gut whatever is left of the Second Amendment even further. We'll see what actually happens but even if this does blow over and no new edicts are rammed through, the silence on the real causes and perpetrators of Uvalde and every other mass shooting — as well as every other act of violence that amount to political terrorism is deafening.

It is the intentional societal, cultural rot imported to this nation nearly 100 years ago by Soviet agents, supercharged by our own homegrown Marxists that have destroyed our families, our morality and ethics, our faith and fostered dangerous mental pathologies to the extent that we have the blood and carnage of Uvalde, the human abattoirs of Planned Parenthood and Kermit Gosnell, and black youth gunning themselves into extinction.

The guilt for all of it rests at the feet of the Democrat Party and the Leftists. If nothing is done, it will ultimately consume us as well.

15 Motion filed in trial court today: “If Defendants wanted to stay execution of the mandate of the Ninth District Court of Appeals, they were required to seek that stay in the Ohio Supreme Court. They did not. Plaintiffs are entitled to judgment on the surety bond ….”

I saw this story over at LI last night; this is really hilarious, and furthermore I don't see any flaws in the Gibson families filing. After 4 years of ridiculousness, Oberlin's high powered, high dollar legal team may have just made a $36 million mistake. And the best part is that they apparently didn't see it coming because they didn't read the Appeals Court ruling closely, they just ignored it.

20 Apropos for Memorial Day
Saint of the Day
St. Joan of Arc (1412-1431) was born in Domremy, France. She was a pious child, and from age 13 on she received visions of saints, most notably St. Michael the Archangel, St. Margaret of Antioch, and St. Catherine of Alexandria, who became her special patrons. Through these visions, Joan understood that she was to help the King of France regain his throne. After overcoming her own reluctance, she heroically led the French army in battle. With her leadership they recaptured Orleans and Troyes, which allowed Charles VII to be restored to the throne of France. All the while she wore the dress of a soldier to protect her virtue and modesty. The following year she was captured by the English, imprisoned, and placed on trial under accusation of heresy and witchcraft. Under political pressure she was condemned and burned alive at the stake, even though she proved herself to be blameless and fearless in character and faith. A second Church trial twenty-five years later nullified the earlier verdict and found her innocent of all charges. St. Joan of Arc is the patron saint of captives, rape victims, soldiers, and France. Her feast day is May 30th.

As someone here pointed out last night, the big question is, What was a rich 82 year old man doing driving himself around in the middle of the night? He's worth $50 million plus, he has drivers to take him anywhere he wants anytime. The logical conclusion is that he was out doing something he should not have been doing, and that he didn't want anyone back home to know about.

there's a black and white film which used nothing but the transcript from her trial, which was faithfully recorded and preserved. I think many people want to say oh, she was just crazy and got lucky - but her trial transcript was incredible. Her accusers were some of the top legal and religious experts of the day, and yet her words confounded them at every step, and they could not show anything wrong. At the end, they did what wicked and powerful men always end up doing; they had her killed just to be rid of her, and because they could.

No thanks.

>>It's also the leading cause of death for black men from 20-44 years old at 27.6%.

The vast majority of violent crime in this country is committed by black people against other black people in a cohort that represents about 2pct of the country.

42 Someone is Paul Pelosi's position (rich, notable) would not only have a driver but likely one or two security as well. Given how Nancy has expanded the Capitol Police's reach I would not be surprised to learn he has taxpayer funded security. He ditched that in some manner to do whatever it was he was doing.

During the same 10-year period cited by the ADL in its 2021 report citing 244 murders by white supremacists, there were at least 165,000 murders in the U.S., meaning those the group attributes to white supremacists accounted for 0.001 percent of such violent deaths in that decade.

68 Imagine half the gas stations you go to are out of fuel and the others have lines a mile long. This is what the Democrats have brought us. When it's 100 degrees this Summer and they start turning the power off, it's really going to come to a head.

The power companies operating within ERCOT (Texas' dysfunctional and doomed grid) are already sending out notices to customers foreshadowing the new age of third world power quality with planned rolling brown/black outs.

I am so glad that I removed myself from that train wreck.

69 DEI ideology, include such evils as objectivity, perfectionism, and worship of the written word.

I reject this 1000%. I have about 40 to 50 hours in helping a friend put together proposal software for his home remodeling business.

We are trying to get unit line items accurate in cost, descriptions, and pricing. Trying to make the quote perfectly clear to the home owner.
1. To be accurate and true on each quote and job.
2. To create standards that ensure the homeowner gets what they want or vision for their project.

I reject DIE in total!

On the lighter side. Because of the near conquest of the former United States by foreigners, a feature of our new culture is that anything placed along the curb or roadside is considered "thrown out" and is offered free to anyone who wants it. Push a broken lawn mower, box fan, water heater or old furniture out to the curb and men with trailers will haul it off in the dead of night.

The mental retards in Uvalde decided to emulate the OKC bombing's empty vanity gestures of putting chairs out along the road, one little chair for every child, and two adult office chairs for both adults murdered.

The next day, the city is asking that whoever took the two adult office chairs overnight to please return them.

91 Smith’s first attempt to discredit Brooks happened when she told him the courts couldn’t find any evidence of widespread fraud, to which Brooks replied, “Time out! Don’t go into that! The courts are not the federal arbiter of who wins federal elections—Congress is! That is required by the United State Constitution!” The heated exchange continued between Brooks and the Fox News host, but when Brooks cited the 2000 Mules movie as evidence of widespread fraud and Smith attempted to discredit the well-researched and factual documentary, Brooks became especially irate.

The snarky Smith responded to Brooks’s assertion that the movie proves widespread fraud with mail-in-ballots, “That has been looked at and fact-checked by multiple outlets, including Reuters, who have debunked that as any sort of proof that there was widespread voter fraud.” Brooks shot back, “I’m sorry, Sandra, but other people have fact-checked it and find you’re absolutely wrong, Sandra! But keep going with that story.”

These men and woman wear their service proud and at times will erect memorials to their fallen comrades in their front yards. Another time, at a 4th celebration northeast of Santa Fe, Little Joe, a great Tejano musician, took time to honor the veterans by period beginning with WWII. When it came to the Vietnam period the entire plaza erupted; right there in that moment I understood, from the tone of their voices and the looks on their faces, these good people suffered the sacrifices honored on Memorial Day. I had a lot of dust in my eyes for a while. Memorial Day here in New Mexico is bigger than one day and I have had the honor to know that.

The conservative majority court is expected to rule in the coming days or weeks in a pending dispute over New York state’s tight limits on the concealed carry of handguns.

Experts said that while it’s unclear just how broadly the Supreme Court would rule, the restrictive New York law is likely to be invalidated in a decision that could have ramifications for gun control efforts across the country.

113 A federal appeals court ruled Wednesday [may 11, 2022] that California’s ban on the sale of semiautomatic rifles to adults younger than 21 was unconstitutional.

In a 2-1 decision, a panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals found that the 2nd Amendment “protects the right of young adults to keep and bear arms, which includes the right to purchase them.”

The ruling reverses a lower court’s decision not to issue an injunction to block a 2019 state law that banned the sale of semiautomatic centerfire rifles to young adults, which the appeals court called a “legal error.”

“America would not exist without the heroism of the young adults who fought and died in our revolutionary army,” Judge Ryan D. Nelson, an appointee of President Trump, wrote for the appeals court. “Today we reaffirm that our Constitution still protects the right that enabled their sacrifice: the right of young adults to keep and bear arms.”

____________

Not the whole school, just the 4th grade classrooms where the fatal shootings took place.

But one of the kids who survived said that the teacher (the first one to be shot) didn't know about the shooter until she received an email alert from the administration. She got up to go lock the classroom door, but the shooter was already there.

But why didn't she hear the shooting that was taking place outside the school, and then in the hallway outside the classrooms, for more than 10 minutes before that?

It's clearly often enough that they now disregard it when it happens. If not, then explain their actions.
