You small-fats need to shut up and defer to the Medium Fats and Large Fats and Super Fats.

You might think that this is something that that poor unfortunate girl is just making up to make some sense out of her miserable life.

But in fact, as Not the Bee points out, she's actually basing this on the prior Fat Scholarship.

Yes, this is a Marxist attempt to arrange people in hierarchies based on how fat they are. Just like a slightly melanated person can't criticize a very melanated person under Critical Race Theory, in Critical Fat Theory, a moderately obese person can't criticize an "infinifat" person.

The downside of forming likeminded communities is that you can continually purity-test the membership list and screen out anyone who questions the increasingly strident and even demented dogmas the increasingly "pure" group dreams up. Ultimately the morbidly obese reach the point of creating their own favored social hierarchy in which, get this, the morbidly obese sit at the top of the pyramid.

And when the morbidly obese sit at the top of the pyramid, they really sit at the top of the pyramid.

How convenient for them!

And then when they take these ideas "to market," the market outside of their hypercurated extremist single-issue cult group, they find the idea is rejected and ridiculed, and they feel bullied.

But I mean, seriously dudes, you're attempting to create a Quasi-Racial Supremacist Caste System based on obesity. The non-obese (and non-lunatic obese) have a right to not just object strenuously, but to mock you for you even attempting to subjugate other people based on the "virtue" of your obesity.

Honestly, this could have been avoided if these ideas had been market-tested outside the confines of the Fat Acceptance hugbox cult in their early conceptual phases.

So have any of you lost any of your Fat Authority Status? Any of you have any Fat Authority Rank LOSSEZZZ?

I finally licked my plantar fasciitis. In the end, it took the usual exercises, plus wearing my Asics Gel Nimbus 22s and the new pair of 23s. They have pretty decent arch support.

And putting Easy Feat arch support inserts into more of my shoes. Note on those: They have quite a high arch. You might not be ready for that. It might be uncomfortable and feel like you've got a stone in your shoe. But you get used to it, and it does relax the arches (for me).

And making sure I'm wearing something with arch supports, even when I'm just inside the house.

10 Movies....TJM is reviewing the films of Kobayashi Masaki. He's a really good director. I do suggest The Thick-Walled Room to start with. Interesting take on post-war war crimes.

I hesitate to recommend the Dr. Strange movie, but it's the best of the Phase 4 films...and that is damning with faint praise. It's about halfway to being a good Marvel movie, let down by the writing and story.

A religious movement springs up around one man's visions about what's going on in the center of the galaxy. Various factions are either trying to make a Pilgrimage to the center of the galaxy or trying to stop it. Pretty wild science fiction exploring transhumanism among other concepts...

Just a few minutes sprint will do it and you'll be out of commission for a week again. 1 don't slack off 2 if you do be extra careful about easing into exercise again. The arch inserts will help with that though. Sometimes night time foot cramps will set it off too but exercise and water intake will help with that.

For BOOKZZZ I picked Mister Roberts by Thomas Heggen off the shelf.

We're all familiar with the movie starring Fonda, Lemmon, Powell and Cagney, which is more of a comedy. The book, however, even though it has it's comical moments, is much darker, emphasizing the boredom, routine and pettiness of a ship lost in the backwaters of the Pacific theater. Tempers flare, good friends suddenly can't stand one another, souls become numbed. It's a good read if you can find it.

Hi! i have, but at maybe 10% of where i was last year. my cardio endurance is totes shot, and unless i'm carefull, the knee will put on my ass for a week. getting it all back though, i can do everything i did before in slow motion which helps my fine motor co trol & balance as well as trunk strength.

still a butterball fat boi though. up maybe 15 or 20 pounds since we last met.

The story at least starts out interesting but is horribly written. I don't think there was a single memorable line of prose in the entire book. It was like the author was getting paid by the word too. Lots and lots of trite phrasing and expansive adjectives.

Perfect for the Oprah Book thing I think.

188 I've only watched Bob's burgers a half dozen times or so while I was on the treadmill, but I enjoyed it. Very subtle cleverness, and Bob is an everyman the way Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation is. You want him to succeed, and he does his best, while stupid / funny stuff happens that he has to deal with. It's a good show.

Here's my summary based on what I've heard so far.

Standard active shooter protocol is to go in, even if you don't have backup or anything. Barricaded suspect protocol means slow down, wait for backup, surround the place, bring in negotiators, etc.
I believe the local police chief heard his guys were shot at and the door was locked. He decided to call it a barricaded suspect because it gave him an excuse to take the safer protocol. This despite the fact that it didn't correctly describe the situation.
LEOs on scene deferred to this person because he's the local Chief of Police. His people went into obey orders mode and started treating it like a barricaded suspect situation. Keep people back, observe, report, make sure the suspect doesn't escape.
It took outside Federal agency people who were willing to disobey and question orders to overcome this institutional momentum.

There's endless hate about the cops right now and, after thoughtful and thorough investigation to understand everything about the event, "we" will be able to place appropriate blame on the deserving parties.

Policies, personnel, coincidental actions, and just terrible luck all played a part. I've been culling through vintage photos of the area I live in now. It's been farmland for... ever, but is seeing development in some areas.

HistoricalAerials and VintageAerial have much, but not all of the US in online libraries. Most, watermarked but interesting nonetheless.

Google Earth Pro also has this feature, but the coverage is spotty and they only go back so far for most areas.

My little compound was farmland until 1985. The house placed here in 2004.

I too loved the Monster Hunter International books.

Great news about him writing a second trilogy in the Grimnoir series - I'll happily buy those when they come out!

I had some trouble getting through "Servants of War" (the one he co-wrote with Steve Diamond.) The book is very well written, and the story is compelling, but there was an ever-present dark fatalistic outlook that made it a tough read for me. It's a coin-toss if I'll pick up the next book in the series if/when it gets written.

But God is not a thing to be "acknowledged." He's an individual to be known. Starting people off with a false view of a being with whom they are to form an intimate relationship is a really bad idea. And the desire to make God "palatable" is in essence stating that He, as He truly is, is not adequate to attract people to Him.

290 Really enjoyed Larry Correia's opening book for a new series, Servants of War. I was wary, because it was a collaboration, but it really stuck with me. It might be my favorite Correia after Grimnoir. Can't wait for more books in this series.

I'm going to dissent from the claim that the MHI series has gone downhill. I enjoyed Legion, and found Nemesis and Siege to be a whole new level of great, and almost on a par with Grimnoir.

292 Lost 35 lbs from about Dec to March. Got a dexa scan this week to check body composition - puts it at 12%. By far the lowest of my adult life by at least 5 percent (about 15 lbs). First time I ever had a 6 pack. Never going back again.

Biked 20 miles this morning in the Phoenix heat. Lovely. I feel empty if I can't get some kind of exercise in the day
