Here's the kitten who's 3 hours' drive from me:
https://tinyurl.com/4z9kwvdp "Bubbles," they tell me, is not her name but the name of her litter. Good thing, as that name would have to go. She is the last female kitten left from her litter. She has a sturdy look to her, and I love black cats anyway. Though the late Chekov's breeder has a black torbie who may grow to look very much like this one. Posted by: willow at May 24, 2022 *** I'm willing to go to some lengths to adopt a cat who appeals to me, and who likes my company. But these rescue places are getting ridiculous. I was attracted to one black adult on Petfinder, and when I emailed, the people sent me a 4-page application. I said to myself, "I'm taking in a roommate and friend, not applying for an effin' job!" When I adopted red tabby kitten Arizona from the local SPCA in '83, the whole process was done in 90 minutes -- and he and I were together for 16 years. Very little effort for a huge payoff. Talked to neighbor about gas for the lawn mower and other gas driven things I have. I have a lithium power string trimmer that the battery is slowly dyeing. Only a coupe years old, new battery costs about 55 dollars. The older 2 cycle blower has been working for years and years. I guess the ball is rolling for all lawn equipment to be electric. Not In My Back Yard. Posted by: rickb223 TEXIT I would think it would be better to have a 800 acre green space. Plants that can grow with minimal human interaction. Maybe they could engineer the plants to take in that nasty CO2 and return O2. If the gubbmint would fund me I'm thinking I could come up with something in a few years. Now Reps. Jerry Nadler and Carolyn Maloney are set to face off in a cross-Manhattan clash of the titans, thrust into the same district by a court-ordered redistricting plan.
Posted by: rhennigantx I remember reading that Maloney's district was going to be Chelsea Clinton's first stepping stone. When Maloney retired, but I guess Maloney didn't get the memo to step aside for Webb's girl. I love how State Farm said the offending employee was four levels below their Chief Diversity Officer in their organization. Normal people see the problem(s) here.

Ella Logan was in the original production of the 1947 musical Finian's Rainbow, introducing the song "How Are Things in Glocca Morra?" And, as one might expect, the ratfuckers of the FBI hounded her for years as a Communist, though they never found any evidence of such. Here she is on a 1954 Red Skelton show, singing "Look to the Rainbow:" https://tinyurl.com/2p8tsbns Posted by: Mary Poppins' Practically Perfect Piercing at May 24, 2022 06:56 AM (2JVJo) 117

My two cents worth. If we can celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Shamrock shakes, 4th of July Oreo's, and Cinco De Mayo with Corna then Juneteenth is fair game. If you want to celebrate a made up Holiday then go ahead, if not do not celebrate it.

Not really. You don't have a "right" to use someone else's computer for free. The problem is that at least Facebook, and allegedly Twitter, Google and AWS, have been given huge amounts of government money and/or are collaborating with government intelligence agencies to spy on those government's citizens. Fix _that_ problem. Posted by: Daniel Ream at May 24, 2022 01:05 PM (o7uZ8) 146
