49 I love the way Remington uses such a simple color scheme to show distance as well as foreground detail. This isn't one of his active scenes, of course, but he conveys the vast spaces of land and sky effectively. The white horse brings the viewer to the center of the image and the land and sky flow out from there.

It would be interesting to see this displayed properly with good lighting to bring out the stars.

There is a little extension of their habitat that looks like it runs down into Nevada or Arizona. So these are more likely to be Apaches or one of the other tribes that live near there than they are to be Comanches or Kiowas, etc.

Possibly - diesel locomotive engines and barges are the main delivery. Most plants have a coal yard on site Its not JIT supply. Its usually got like a month worth of coal.

Well, in most cases now, the power plant is right next to the mine, so a little Diesel moves a lot of coal. Or they could use electric trucks. That would be a sensible use of electric vehicles.

There's a massive coal fired power plant on the Mississippi in Minneapolis, plus, I've driven by a couple of coal fired plants that were obviously not anywhere near a mine.

Anyway, because I'm a bit slow, it just dawned on me why blackouts are quite possibly going to be a thing to deal with.
