Aside from the question of how they bounce off each other or how it stops or folds back on itself, just think how much more badass of a weapon ot would be if it didn't magically end 3 feet from the handle.
And then there's the total lack of imagination it represents. Lucas wanted characters based on samurai. Okay, cool, think of the awesome samurai space suits and zero-gravity martial arts that would mean. But no, just laser-swords. F'ing dumb.

Sleepy is very right. Menopause is...or can be...a very disconcerting, depressing period in a woman's life. Mental changes, physical changes are quite challenging to say the least. And some of those changes, yes, seem to happen overnight. I went through it early, around 40. I'm nearly 59 now. It ain't fun. And I still mourn my old self. All I can say is try to be patient, Duke. 185 RWBY is my favorite anime now. Accept its not because its American and not Japanese. Although they're making an anime of RWBY now too. I know it will break me.

I do like how they had to put a warning on the last episode that pretty much said, "yeah, don't kill yourself after watching this please". I think that was mostly for foreign fans in countries where people will find people involved in shows, and kill their selves on actor's doorsteps.

But I await the moment when it sacrifices everything on the altar of woke and dies. It hasn't yet with just a few seasons left in it's arc. It has been consistently good I think.

I think what does it for me is that it tells a story, and when the story is over, it ends.

It's hard to find that any more. If something is successful it will go for years and get worse and worse. It's nice to have a story with a beginning, middle, and end.

I'm guessing it came from a comic book originally so that made it easy.

Haibane Renmei. The late Steven Den Beste said to just watch it without reading any reviews or knowing anything about it. He was correct.

Noir. Older show. Assassin girls. Detailed enough that having the right sounds for particular handguns is a plot point.

Gate. A portal to a "middle earth" type world opens in downtown Tokyo. Modern military vs dragons ensues.

Violet Evergarden. Low-key stuff. What does a super-soldier do when the war is over?

Mushi-shi. Very low-key. Episodic stories about a wandering witchdoctor-ghostbuster dude.

Asobi Ni Iku Yo!, aka "Cat Planet Cuties". Sci-fi send-up with lots of gratuitous nudity.

That's it. I watched it around 2005 or so if I had to guess. I swear it was on TV. Maybe cartoon network somewhere near Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Dethklok (sp?) and all that crazy stuff.

I really liked that one. I'm a big fan of 70s dubbed Kung fu movies, so the stereotypes appealed to me.

If you are a squish Republican who just wants a real R lite and not a complete D (like Oz), he'd be who you'd fall to, especially with the combo McConnell/Cruz endorsement. Oz lost his support, but he didn't split with Barnette, he seems to be giving it to McCormick.

Barnette seems to have gotten undecideds to break her way to elevate but then stopped elevating - so, I think the late trade at the top was Oz to McCormick, not Oz to Barnette...but it's early...

My first static jump was out of a C-141 four engine jet. I felt my chute open and checked my canopy. All I saw was fabric pressed against my face. "Oh my God my chute collapsed" I thought. Turns out my steel pot camouflage cover had blown out from between it and my helmet liner and was covering my face. So all I could see, which was enough, were my feet and the ground.

Spy x Family
Actually I'm not sure they're assassins. I haven't seen it.

No one has seen all of it, because it's running this season.

A "West German" spy has to infiltrate "East Germany" and set up a fake family, so he can get at the reclusive bad guy who only appears at his son's school functions. The spy manages to pick a telepathic orphaned kindergartener for his "daughter" and a professional assassin for his "wife". The joke is that dad and mom don't know what the other two really are. (The mind-reading kid does, obviously.)

There was a show last season (or the season before?) about an assassin family, called "The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in a Different World as an Aristocrat." It was not very good.

Or I would have a job where I worked a lot of evenings. And I am a night owl while he goes to bed very early in the evening and gets up super early in the morning. A lot of notes have been left on the counter over the years.

321 Russians built fortifications in several places they've withdrawn from already in this war (near Kiev for example). It's normal for many situations. Down in Kherson I don't think anyone expects them to be moving much further anyway. From Moscow's perspective, the war entered a "protracted phase" in mid-March, if a quick/political outcome was desired. From Kiev's perspective, it will be as protracted as they decide to, or can, make it. More likely a deal, eventually.

324 Club for Growth (GOPe?) gave money to Barnette, most likely to split the MAGA vote between Trump's (crazy) pick of Oz the (mostly) leftist, and a real MAGA (but not known, not successful in her last campaign) pick like Barnette.

Why Trump didn't pick the white female option Carla Sands, is unknown. But maybe Trump will learn he can't just force his leftist candidate on the MAGA crowd. That only worked for four years of ... for instance, open border picks on border enforcement, and other failures.

Yes, Trump was up against the DeepState in full force (Strzok "we will stop him") ... but imo the Jarvanka team was Manhattan leftist influence, and there were other unforced errors.

idk, I could not fight DeepState ... and maybe Trump's base will come through in 2024, but demanding they accept Oz instead of MAGA is kinda like when he said he could shoot someone on 5th and Broadway and MAGA would still support him. (ummm. no, MAGA is not that in love with you, they love MAGA).

343 "He will campaign from his basement, claiming his need to return to full health after the stroke and pacemaker..."

my uncle lived 25 years after getting his pacemaker ... pretty nifty devices. They claimed they caught the stroke soon enough to prevent permanent damage iirc. But that is always questionable I guess ... and "interesting" it was a month after he was vaxxed. (why was he not vaxxed earlier ... he uttered something about not getting it till it was available for all iirc, as some noble stand I guess)

Black Lagoon was BAD ASS!

Similarly, Jormungand is a good watch. It's about arms dealers and mercenaries. Lots of shooting, 'sploding and killing.

Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions was a surprisingly endearing romance.

349 I think that discussing how health issues are impacting your relationship is probably one of the hardest things to do. No one likes to be sick or limited in some way. And it's easy to take it the wrong way.

350 35 Light sabers are the reason I could never get into Star Wars. Even as a kid, it was just insultingly dumb.

I was like 14 when Star Wars came out. It was fun, the visuals were great for the time, but as far as the generational obsession and the delving into intellectual aspects of it and interest in endless sequels to explain more? As far as SF meatiness went, it was to even original Star Trek like Hannity is to Rush. Light sabers? Ok, fighting with swords and knives is much better for dramatic conflict than fighting with phasers or laser pistols, I get it, but at least in Dune the author invented a force field armour that stopped quick movements to explain why people with space travel technology fight with blades. Star Wars didn't bother explaining it at all.
