Good morning, kids. Tuesday and the Left keeps plucking the white supremacist, racist and gun control chicken even as it is beyond a shadow of a doubt that the shooter at the Buffalo, NY market was a disturbed Leftist - but I repeat myself - a "leftwing authoritarian" in his own words. No matter. The Democrats have lain waste to our economy, our national security, and our society in record time, and with a theoretical reckoning coming this November. But if it's flightless and has a cloaca, it's going to get it in the end.

More and more Democrats are getting frustrated and angry at what they along with the rest of us are being put through. And they're turning their guns - no pun - on their party. But you know how I know the Left is desperate? They're forced to resort to scum like Liz-ard Cheney and Adam Kinzinger to spew their lies.

With Republicans like Rep. Liz Cheney (R-D), who needs Democrats? On Monday morning, Cheney sounded like Nancy Pelosi as she tweeted a prime Democrat talking point: “The House GOP leadership has enabled white nationalism, white supremacy, and anti-semitism. History has taught us that what begins with words ends in far worse. @GOP leaders must renounce and reject these views and those who hold them.”
Cheney was referring to the fact that Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), who replaced her as chair of the House Republican Conference, has criticized Democrat plans to “grant amnesty to 11 MILLION illegal immigrants.” Cheney is picking up on the Leftist talking point that this means that Stefanik believes in the so-called Great Replacement Theory, the idea that there is a systematic plan to replace white Americans with non-white migrants. Since a mass shooter in Buffalo, N.Y. who identified as a white supremacist just murdered ten people, this must mean that Stefanik endorses white supremacy and likely mass murder to boot. Got it?
This is a new low even for Cheney, as well as for her fellow Republican-Democrat Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-D), who tweeted Saturday: “Did you know: @EliseStefanik pushes white replacement theory? The #3 in the house GOP. @Liz_Cheney got removed for demanding truth. @GOPLeader should be asked about this. Stefanik Blasted for ‘Despicable’ Facebook Ads Pushing ‘Replacement Theory.’” Kinzinger linked to a September 2021 Newsweek article with that title, which acknowledged seven paragraphs down that the whole thing was a smear, for Stefanik had actually said nothing whatsoever about “white replacement”; it was apparently another one of the “dog whistles” that Democrats are so fond of finding. Newsweek quoted an editorial from Stefanik’s hometown newspaper admitting that “Ms. Stefanik isn’t so brazen as to use the slogans themselves,” while claiming that “she couches the hate in alarmist, anti-immigrant rhetoric that’s become standard fare for the party of Donald Trump. . . ”
. . . And now the murderous rampage in Buffalo has enabled Leftists, and Cheney, to claim that not only are Republicans enabling white supremacy but also that their words lead to violence. Words did not lead to violence in 2019 when a self-identified Leftist gunman who said that he supported Elizabeth Warren murdered nine people; words only lead to violence and are only racist, for that matter, when conservatives say them, especially when they challenge core Democrat policies for which there is no adequate explanation.
Stefanik’s office issued a statement hitting back hard: “Any implication or attempt to blame the heinous shooting in Buffalo on the Congresswoman is a new disgusting low for the Left, their Never Trump allies, and the sycophant stenographers in the media. The shooting was an act of evil and the criminal should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Despite sickening and false reporting, Congresswoman Stefanik has never advocated for any racist position or made a racist statement.”

Fuck these two in the heart with a steak knife. In any case, as I said, no one's buying this, especially since this Leftist's manifesto clearly shows him to be a Leftist. But let's not let that stand in the way of a good story. It's obviously mal-, mis- and disinformation. Just like the Joo-hating, white-hating, Chinese-hating, America hating black guy who went on a shooting rampage in Brooklyn. You best believe he's a white-supremacist "Ultra-MAGA" man!

Pathetic. But typical. It's not going to work. Hell, if the potential for Roe v. Wade to be tossed didn't move the needle, this incident, horrid in real terms as it is, sure as hell isn't.

I knew, whether Trump was his reelection or not, that one day, one miserable day, a Democrat would again be president. 1 - this is true of any person, so...
2 - this is the same thing that was said of Trump - and (speaking for myself) I never had "faith" in Trump, I trusted him to do what his ego demanded (as I do today), but I believed then (and still sort of do now) that what his ego demands happens to coincide with what I want for the country. Same with Musk - I trust he'll do what his principles demand (for I do believe he is principled - his principles and mine probably just don't line up all that much).
3 - Given 1 & 2, right now I believe that Musk is generally a force for good in that he really *is* a free speech absolutist and has proven time and again that he'll act in accordance with that principle.

Also, Teslas are pretty cool cars (even if EVs are not practical long-term solutions for the majority of Americans), and it's cool that someone who actually likes to get things done is looking at colonizing space. Because: space.

I'm not a fan of Oz but I believe that PDT endorsed him because he believed he was the one that could win in a rino leaning state. I'll explain (the rest of you can skip this post) -

I had my finances pretty much in a row for retirement, with plenty of capital and interest to hold me until it was time to begin taking my pension in six years. Until then, I had a part-time gig lined up strictly for entertainment monies, which was the only 'outlier' in my plan.

However, the gig fell through (won't go into details other than that it put a serious crimp in a years-long relationship). While looking around for something else, I was contacted by my old transcription supervisor who asked if I could come back 2-3 days per diem, since they really needed help and could rush me though, since I'd already worked for them.

Well, I do need the money for entertainment, don't want to touch my capital and so have been forced into this, since it's something I know how to do and can start right up. I did, however, insist on only 2 days/week and said I would quit if it became 3 (outside of others being sick or on vacay, of course).

A number of military analysts not wrapped up in CRT or leftism have noted that China builds a lot of stuff and builds it fast. Most of this is crap. Poorly reversed engineered, low quality, etc. The fact they are building ships, planes, tanks, missiles, etc. quickly and in great numbers is nothing new. They surmise a lot of same QA that goes into a knockoff smartphone goes into a J-20 stealth fighter.

The point they make is that a lot of China's military is all show and no go. The shear numbers are impressive, but what they can actually field and support during a war remains to be seen.

That said, the PLA is probably more adapt at warfighting than the US military at this particular point in time.

Plenty was done. They continued to ratchet down in the regulatory space to make more production riskier and reduce the willingness of producers to invest. They tapped the strategic reserve multiple times to deplete emergency insurance oil. They then sent much of that emergency insurance oil to Europe so they can use it instead of us. They have maintained the energy export regime (itself fairly new, re-introduced under Trump) to make sure that domestic supplies remain totally uninsulated from global shocks and development (when we went negative on production, exports should have been curtailed).

They've done plenty, just the wrong things.

Yup. This has been apparent since the fairly early data by the late summer of 2020. When comparing states and localities within this country, comparing countries to each other, comparing regions to each other, etc., it became clear that statistical correlation was weak and likely in the margin of error. Masking, lockdowns, social distancing, etc. all made ... no difference. Some areas show weak positive or negative correlation, but as the scope increases it all collapses into noise. None of it made any difference whatsoever to COVID, and we knew that by about August or September of 2020.

It made no difference to COVID, but maintaining all of that sure did destroy much of the world.

Which would be a problem. Sure, the Chinese want Taiwan because Chinese Unification - but Taiwan's real prizes are its industrial and engineering base and capacity. The biggest prize of them all is TSMC, on which the world depends. They aren't the only game in town in ultra high-tech semiconductor fabrication and design, of course, but they are important enough that without them, the world is in for a rough ride.

If China attacks Taiwan and the island's defenses fail, what happens to the industrial base? If Taiwan is smart - and they might be - they would scuttle it to keep it out of Chinese hands. If that happens, China gets a Pyrrhic victory and the world straps in for a rough decade. China might end up ascendant anyway, given the giant stumble backwards that the loss of Taiwan would represent. It would be one hell of a gamble, though.

well I literally had intense pain in all joints - like my whole body - the day after second Moderna dose. it took about a week for me to be able to move about, drive, stuff like that. and it "resolved" into arthritis. which I hadn't had before. so now I have RA. just a coincidence I guess.

I do think it causes a very intense inflammatory response, and those can do ... a lot of things! RA is probably the least worst thing.

I've been exercising despite some pain, and fasting, and lost a bunch of weight. this has helped me IMMEASURABLY. I think inflammation gets worse with fat percentage - it's been my experience anyway. I was also having weird rashes around my upper arms and after I passed the "now in decent shape" threshold those have thus far stopped.

I'm really glad the dam is breaking hopefully I can get more help

Even without the specific projections - which are bad, but also projections - there is no evidence of topping behavior. The PPI is still running at around 10% year over year, and consumer prices (CPI) are downstream from producer prices (PPI), and the increases show up 1-2 quarters later (usually closer to two). As long as PPI is elevated - and it is - CPI will not be turning back down. Once PPI breaks, we are half a year away from consumer price relief - just like how it took half a year from when PPI started spiking to really show up in consumer prices.

Only an idiot or a liar (or both) would say that we're approaching the peak before inflation recedes. We have at least six more months, and that's assuming that PPI will turn back next quarter - something that no indicators imply will happen.

No, actually I didn't. A number of people kept saying if things didn't happen on their time table then nothing would happen. I thought it would take as long as it would take which I get is frustrating, it frustrates me as much as anyone, but the #TwoWeeks thing was a sarcastic shot by people who insisted nothing would ever happen and because I didn't agree that made me a target of misplaced anger just as you did this morning.

If you don't case seriously that's fine. I do. Maybe you should do yourself a favor and not try to tell me what's important to me and what isn't. I certainly don't care what you think is important to you.

Another favor you could do yourself is to stop lashing back with ad hominem when a simple statement is made that you don't like and then pretending you didn't. You can simply scroll up an look at our exchange and see for yourself.

447 71 Two Nigerian Dwarf goat does (that term is probably racist now), one of which is very pregnant. That part is also good because A) baby goats are one of the cutest animals on earth and II) free goats milk, baby! (Nigerians are one of the milking breeds, so they give off more than enough to feed their kids AND have enough left over to harvest).

We're going to pick up 9 more does and a wether (castrated male - he doesn't get a name other than "dinner") today.

We got Nigerian pigmy goats for weed control.
They are browsers and prefer shrubs and low-hanging fruit tree limbs to weeds. Who knew?
I opened the hood on a vehicle to work on it and one of the goats jumped up beside me into the engine compartment and immediately began ripping wires out.
They went to a petting zoo.
