In tonight's This Is Bull Shit segment we visit Kiel, WI. Three Wisconsin boys are facing sexual harassment charges from their middle school over accusations that they used incorrect gender pronouns on a fellow student. "I received a phone call from the principal over at the elementary school, forewarning me; letting me know that I was going to be receiving an email with sexual harassment allegations against my son," Rosemary Rabidoux, a parent of one of the accused, told Fox 11 News last week. "I immediately went into shock. I’m thinking, sexual harassment? That’s rape, that’s inappropriate touching, that’s incest" Rabidoux continued. "What has my son done?" Kiel is a small community. Unfortunately its school system has been taken over by the Woke. However, there is hope that the kids will prevail. A small, public university in Ohio agreed last week to pay one of its professors $400,000 after it rebuked him for refusing to use a transgender student's preferred pronouns. Shawnee State University, in Portsmouth, roughly 85 miles south of Columbus, warned Nicholas Meriwether, a philosophy professor, in 2018 about not using the pronouns. In response, Meriwether, who is an evangelical Christian, filed a federal lawsuit against the university that year, contending that officials violated his constitutional rights by compelling him to speak in a way that contradicts his religious beliefs. FAA revokes certificates of pilots involved in Red Bull plane-swapping stunt If you have a functional gun, this is an insult. If you don't good on you for sticking it to "The Man". “Sacramento police want your guns in exchange for gas money,” says a May 6 Sacramento Bee headline. The department asks residents to give away their firearms, which the Second Amendment authorizes them to keep and bear, for a $50 gas gift card that would not even provide a fill-up for many vehicles. The department claims it will not ask any questions or demand identification, but it is unlikely that any criminals will be handing over firearms. Criminals do not follow gun laws, and criminals, not guns, commit crimes. Let's look in on what's going on with the Religion of Pieces. Muslim college students kill Christian co-ed. A mob of Muslim students at a college in northern Nigeria beat a fellow student to death and burned her corpse on campus on Thursday after accusing the woman of “blasphemy” against Islam for allegedly suggesting her peers stop posting religious content on a student-run instant messaging group, the Nigerian online newspaper the Paradise News reported on Friday. “Muslim students at Shehu Shagari College of Education accused a Hausa Christian, Deborah Yakubu, of blasphemy; they beat their colleague to death and burnt the corpse. Ms Yakubu reportedly protested against posting religious messages on the student Whatsapp platform. Her protest angered some Muslim students who mobilized and subsequently killed her,” the Paradise News reported on May 13. Police are investigating a “death match” wrestling event staged in front of kids that turned into a bloody brawl as contestants attacked each other with glass lighting tubes and even a weed whacker. The event performed at the Conservative Club in Seaham, County Durham, England, on April 29 was a raucous affair that had been advertised as a family-friendly event, and, indeed, several families with pre-teen children were in the audience. I can hardly wait until all of our energy is renewable. Friday a heat wave hit Texas — prompting the non-profit that manages power for Texas's 26 million customers to...ask them to use less of it. "The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) made the appeal in a statement Friday, saying that soaring temperatures increased demand and caused six power generation facilities to trip offline," reports CNN. "That resulted in the loss of about 2,900 megawatts of electricity." The statement asks Texans "to conserve power when they can by setting their thermostats to 78-degrees or above and avoiding the usage of large appliances (such as dishwashers, washers and dryers) during peak hours between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. through the weekend." Imagine having to go out to the store to get your own booze. Usually these events involve Pelosi struggling to keep her dentures in her mouth, babbling incoherently and slurring her words, while basically making little if any sense. Now, for those who suspect old Nancy likes herself an occasional (ok, more than occasional) nip on something, Pelosi has made it easier for members of the House to have beer, wine and spirits delivered directly to their offices, the Daily Wire reports. This should make those press events even more comical than they already are. According to Fox News Channel’s Chad Pergram, the new perk comes courtesy of Sodexo, the Capitol’s new caterer. “Wine and beer was often available at catered receptions on Capitol Hill,” Pergram tweeted. “But now booze can go directly to a Member’s office.” Johns Hopkins University has hired a female-to-male transgender academic who has called for pedophilia to be “destigmatized.” Despite her comments, Walker has been granted a new position at the Johns Hopkins’ Moore Center for Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse.Stigma? Louisiana authorities are searching for three juvenile inmates who escaped from a detention facility, allegedly with the help of a 21-year-old security guard, the state police said Saturday. Tyjuan Lafitte, 17; Na'varaya Lane, 17; and Jeremiah Durham, 15; all escaped from the Ware Youth Center in Coushatta just before 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, police said. Video footage showed 21-year-old security guard Victoria Tune taking the trio off the premises in a white 2010 Pontiac G6, the Red River Parish Sheriff's Office said in a statement. Police were not alerted until approximately 6:50 a.m., when incoming day shift employees noticed the three were missing, the sheriff's office said. I can't speak for you. But I think this is awesome. Johns Hopkins University has hired a female-to-male transgender academic who has called for pedophilia to be “destigmatized.” It's even worse than that. Led by a professor whose name escapes me, Johns Hopkins led in research that determined the repeatedly replicated scientific conclusion that "gender reassignment" surgery is useless - that "transgenders" who had had the surgery were no happier, no less depressed, and no less suicidal than "transgenders" that hadn't had the surgery. Johns Hopkins even stopped doing "gender reassignment" surgery based on that analysis. Sad that they've joined The Hive. There's a Civ VI? I need to get out more. I was thinking of going back and playing Hearts of Iron 3, but what's this Civ VI thing?
Posted by: SFGoth at May 15, 2022 10:14 PM (KAi1n) It's similar to Civ V if you've played it (which is Civ IV with better graphics and a hexagonal map), but VI does "districts" that you unlock with the tech tree and build buildings in. For example, you can build a Holy Site early on, then build a shrine in it, then a temple in it, and so on. Pooky doesn't like it because you have to unlock districts through the tech tree and get to certain population levels (3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 13, 15 IIRC) to build them. I think he just wants to break the game and start nuclear war at 1000 BC, but he won't fully admit that. Posted by: pookysgirl knows what this is *really* about at May 15, 2022 10:24 PM (XKZwp) 75

I"ve been looking at videos of the Ukes dropping what look like gravity bombs from their drones, and usually hitting even very small targets. It's hard to imagine that there's no post-release control, e.g. targeting lasers. Warfare certainly has changed, and will probably change even more now that the Ukes are doing so well. Dipshit Abbott hasn't done a thing to correct the errors of the last heat wave.
When does Texas have a heat wave? Every Fucking Summer. Posted by: Braenyard I learned a long time ago that politicians won't fix things, they always make things worse. So I saw that Texas, the largest energy producer on the planet, was unable to generate energy, so I moved out of ERCOT and into SPP which, does have a lot of windmills, but isn't past the point of no return that the rest of Texas has entered. Texas energy is doomed to fail - too many windmills, not enough thermals, and absolutely no political will to do anything other than lie about improving it. Also, doesn't help to import millions of people who expect a comfortable mid 70's indoor temp, swimming pool and lush northeastern style landscape and not have a reservoir built in the last 30 years. Horrific post on Portland Reddit from a substitute teacher in Portland public schools (junior high and high school), followed by more than 250 comments with other teachers and parents chiming in.
Oregon kept its schools closed longer than any state than California. The state government sprang into action, and banned standardized testing for the next few years, so people can't see how much damage has been done. The high points: Most students are noticeably behind grade level. The extended break destroyed students' socialization for school - students now routinely just text and play games on their smart phones, and ignore the teacher. You can't discipline minority students because it would be racist and the administration won't back you up. The students know this, of course. Students routinely say "s*ck my d*ck" to female teachers making any sort of request, and there are absolutely no consequences for doing so. Suburban teachers chimed in that there were significant issues in their schools as well, but Portland is far worse. Keeping the schools closed was just an epic, epic disaster. I see that Beto is lying about being able to bring down energy costs while increasing reliability. Beto is a Malthusian Communist so his "plan" doesn't exist, and he will lash out like all other Malthusian Communists and implement draconian rationing policies divided along political lines. It is too late for Texas. It takes 20 years to build a nuclear reactor, coal will never come back, and natural gas plants take many years to build - and must be near large bodies of water for cooling. Texas hasn't built any lakes in decades, and it will be difficult to find available land around any lake to build a plant and get the multimillionaires living on the lake to agree to the eyesore and noise. So Texas, like California will never be a reliable energy state and will increasingly look third world. From what I recall of reading the exhibits at Fort Ross in CA, the primary market for otter pelts from the eastern Pacific was .... the Chinese aristocracy. Probably some Russian and European market too.
The "hunters" were actually contractors, Inuit brought down by the Russians, who were paid on a per-pelt basis. The Russians processed and marketed them. So apparently much of the unspeakable evil of this example of humans seeking to protect themselves and live in more comfort was the doing of .... well, we can't speak of such things. Wonder if those exhibits have been censored or sanitized? Posted by: rhomboid at May 15, 2022 11:51 PM (OTzUX) 342
tcn,
I love them so much. There's a couple sea otters here in Seattle, and a few in Vancouver. I need to get to Monterey Bay. They have a sea otter surrogacy program. They have rescued babies and had some of their resident otters teach them How to otter and then released them back into Elkhorn Slough. You can see them on a live cam. It's so cool. I have always had a very high regard for "Can't Explain" by the Who, especially the instrumental breaks. They just sound so good, I wish they each were a couple minutes long, such a good groove. Also listening to the guitar part of "Pictures of Lily". A great sound. Last night I got reminded of a band I hadn't heard for decades, Pursuit of Happiness. Got on eBay and got their two albums coming used on CD. Lost track of the cassettes I used to have in the early 90s. Looking forward to hearing those songs again.

Fun Fact: The Nov. full moon is the Beaver Moon. Fate smiled on me. A slight clearing opened up right at the moment of totality, and I saw the last white sliver go out. Covered back up again, but now we're getting good off and on viewing. Nice dull red moon. Maximum occurs at 12:11 AM. That's okay, I've seen plenty of lunar eclipses in my lifetime, including blood moons. I remember one time driving with my parents from El Paso to [I don't remember where we were going or when it was] during a lunar eclipse. It was a very cold night, and my mom would complain every time I pulled over to the side of the road watch the progress of the eclipse. Update: I went outside and saw a sliver of the moon, but before I could grab a camera, it disappeared behind the cloud cover. I don't think it is coming back for us tonight. Speaking of bothering to go look at the eclipse, a tale.
A few years back I did a week-long horsepack trip through the Flattops Wilderness Areea south of Steamboat Spgs with my dad, a mountain man buddy of his (Don), and a back east friend (Charlie) of his. We stopped to set up camp one afternoon, and it was my turn to fix supper. Don had spotted a couple of elk a ridge or two away, and started off to see if he could spy the whole herd from the top of the ridge, perhaps 300 yds distance. My dad set off with him. Charlie set off as well, lagging behind. After about five minutes, the guy from back east trudged back into camp huffing and puffing and sat down by the fire. He said, "You know, I got to thinking part way up that hill, we've got elk in the Cincinnati zoo, and if I want to see an elk, I'll just go to the zoo!" ****** Big elk herds here will head down into the San Luis Valley in large numbers in the late fall. My wife once had to stop and wait while some 3-400 crossed the road in front of her en masse. Probably a 7-10 minute wait. It got so bad that locals would flock to the sporting goods stores when the herds showed up, get an elk tag on the spot and drive just barely out of town, guns a-blazing. Many a farmhouse withstood gunfire in those days. They finally went to a limited license annual draw for elk. Posted by: Muldoon at May 16, 2022 01:45 AM (kXYt5) 518

Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon ------ Within 1/4 mile or so from here are Elk Mountain, and Elk Mountain highway, also, a road named Elkmont. Things change slowly here, there hasn't been an elk locally since the late 1700's. I didn't retain much of it, but my dad grew up in SW Neb and NE CO, and talked about the fairly diverse geology of the Plains. (He was really into geology). He could also spot a teepee circle or find arrowheads along the dry creek beds like nobody's business.
Posted by: Muldoon at May 16, 2022 02:01 AM (kXYt5) There are teepee rings at Carmangay, on the Oldman River a couple of hours south of me. But real close by is the Dry Island Buffalo Jump. https://tinyurl.com/5f29jyd4 Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at May 16, 2022 02:07 AM (1qWjP) 536

Eco-warriors have promoted, and achieved, the introduction of the Red wolf to eastern NC.
Posted by: Mike Hammer, etc., etc. at May 16, 2022 01:59 AM (Fk2FG) I'm okay with the reintroduction of species that are native to an area, though the reason for their not existing in the wild today is most likely not solvable in a meaningful way, so they'll probably end up going away again; zoos For The Win! Better than 'introducing' non-native species to an area, like the fucking python to Florida. That will fuck up an ecosystem faster than a Democrat president can fuck up the economy and Democrat presidents can fuck up the economy just by waking up in the morning. Morning, kings and queens and princes and other nobles!
I see I made the Top 10 commenters again. Remarkable. Think what I could do if I commented on the late afternoon and evening threads! 'Twas savagely hot yesterday, until a storm front that dropped no rain here blew in and reduced the temps. Otherwise it would be a lot warmer this a.m. than 74. How about where you are? Any more civilized temps, as in "Not time to put the A/C on yet"? Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius at May 16, 2022 04:43 AM (c6xtn) 563

Posted by: My Life is Insanity at May 16, 2022 *** A couple of years ago, when I was considering moving to WI (and it's not off the table!), I noticed that a lot of houses in the smaller towns like Appleton didn't have A/C. I figured I could buy 2-3 window units, put them in for the duration of the hot humid time, living room and bedroom, and then take them out to store them until the next year. Do people do that in WI? Posted by: Kamala Harris, Tautologist at May 16, 2022 04:52 AM (BOJAx) Maybe you should buy a clue or a vowel or something. I thought the Obama Administration was the most unserious one in my lifetime, in large part thanks to the Cabinet (Little Timmy Geitner, Sec. of Treasury, blaming TurboTax for his income tax return fuckup?), but the Biden Administration is off the charts when it comes to unserious people ruling/lording over us. And Laughing Cow Harris takes the cake for the worst VP ever, and that includes Biden and Gore! Now that's saying something. What, I don't know, but something nonetheless.
