Just had @Kathy4Truth on. Going back to my local radio days I've exposed plenty of political frauds just with questioning. She should to be vetted like anyone else, but if she's a fraud like Hannity claims, she's the best I've ever seen. She came across as very real and sincere.

The new attack on her is that she's "anti-Muslim," and, in fairness, she does say Pam Gellar-like things about Muslims. While she seems to mostly have a problem with political Islam and sharia law, she does not attempt at all to distinguish those from Islam itself, and simply deems Islam itself to be the problem.

How do I put this delicately...? Grennell works for Trump and we, collectively, have had to justify a lot of intemperate, un-PC things Trump has said about various categories of people but now we're supposed to all freak out that Kathy Barnette said that Muslims are a threat to the US?

It's a little late to be playing the PC Card isn't it, guys?

Let's be serious.

Here are my three takes on Barnette's Muslim Problem:

1, I think I'll take some anti-Muslim-bias over Captain Gender-Swap over here. Even though he's totally MAGA and completely dedicated to taking down Mitch McConnell and everything. Yes, it's not ideal. But we do not have ideal candidates. (Someone mentioned to me that one of the candidates in the back of the pack is very good but I don't think she's going to suddenly catch fire over the weekend, alas.)

2, We have an entire political class infected with "Islam Means Peace" lies. It will help to have one (1) Senator who holds a different opinion, even if that opinion is a bit overbroad and a bit, yeah, "extreme." It would be nice to have one (1) Senator who says, "Actually, Islam does not mean peace at all."

3, I've sat through six years of black leftist commentators -- who are not only welcomed by the leftist media and academy, but feted -- saying the most egregiously bigoted things about white people, and I've been told by the left that I had to shut up and take my Lecture.

I've also been told by NeverTrump -- particularly leftwing goons like AllahPundit and the leftwing c*nts at The Bulwark he's always linking -- that if I object to the constant screeds about "eradicating whiteness," I'm guilty of "white resentment," "white grievance culture," and being a "culture warrior."

So here we have a black American woman expressing some strident cultural criticism against Muslims -- am I now supposed to say, "Oh, that's beyond the pale! The constant attacks on white people from black leftists were fine and justified, and I'm guilty of borderline racial hostility for just objecting to racism directed at myself, but this single black woman harshly critiquing Muslims must be denounced and cast out of political life!"

Really? Really?!?

Ibram X. Khendi's book on "eradicating whiteness" was until this week recommended reading for US Naval Officers -- but Kathy Barnette is not allowed to say that the actual ideology the US Navy has spent the last two decades at war with is a problem for the US?!?!

Fuck you. Fuck you, fuck you.

Actually, I'll add a fourth point:

4, Even though I have doubts she can win, I'm becoming more zealously in favor of her given these weak, hypocritical attacks on her and I am becoming more and more hostile to the people making these attacks on her.

This is Trump's wounded ego talking, and I am getting very sick of hearing from Trump's wounded ego.

Take the L, Champ. No one wants your Oprah candidate.

BTW, I continue to say, I think Trump's basic play here -- back a candidate who would (maybe) be loyal to him and not Mitch McConnell and the GOPe -- was justifiable. McConnell has been absolutely ruthless and mercenary and cut-throat in selecting senate candidates loyal to the Corporate Party; it's good and right to start picking candidates who oppose it.

But Oz was the wrong candidate to back for this play. He's a liberal, period.

And I don't think a liberal will oppose the Corporate Party. Liberals are the Corporate Party.

Trump already came out with a statement the other day saying that he chose Oz because he thought he could win and wasn't all lined up with McConnell. He said that Barnette seems like a good person but there was too much in her background that needed looking into and that that would hurt her in the general. He said he would support her and work with her if she won.

If you move without notifying the IRS they stop sending you letters to your old address and just bide their time. Eventually they figure out where you are and garnish you for back taxes.

Fundamentally, their religion is about temporal power. It is designed for conquest, not of the self, but geopolitics. So I am guessing that Trump calculated early that Oz was going to win both the primary and likely the general, and decided to endorse to TRY to gain a part-time ally.

If Barnette wins and is everything she says she is then she is Trump's ally by default. This is essentially win-win as much as it can be, except for the fact that it's annoying as shit, pisses his hardcore supporters off, and Oz isn't likely to be much of an ally at all.

I think Trump's first goal for a hypothetical second Trump administration is a Republican Congress. He won't be able to do anything with a Democratic Congress. He might be able to do something with a Republican Congress.

Was listening to Robert Barnes today about Barnette. Two important points he makes.

1) She comes across as authentic because her history is showing herself to be authentic and a person coming to grips with her political philosophy. EXACTLY the way so many of us have moved from being all in on bomb Iraq to being very suspicious of foreign wars. It is maturation of thought in a normal person, not someone who has geared their entire life to getting ready to go into politics. Compare to the slick answers of a Cruz or Rubio.

2) After Clinton, political suicide due to sexual activity was taken off the table (no more Gary Hart's). After Trump, political suicide due to past statement is equally off the table. Unelectable in 2022 is NOT the same as in 2012.

That's...not how politics works.

A week ago, no one had heard about Barnette. It was an Oz vs. McCormick fight, and it had been for months. He threw his weight behind the guy who isn't a McConnell toady and has a personal connection to him. Suddenly Barnette is the obvious MAGA choice despite being a national name for about five minutes.

He's building a coalition. Coalitions have to balance a lot of stuff across a lot of interests. We may want MAGA in every race, but it's honestly not feasible, not because "only moderates can win in purple states" but because he has to work with and against 51 different establishments while he's trying to take over. Also, if he wants his endorsement to mean anything, his picks need to win a lot. Throwing his name behind a bunch of no-name true believers who all end up losing diminishes his ability to steer the party. Politics is messy and requires a lot of negotiation.

The thing is that it was a crowded race with two points of concentration. To act as thought Trump's endorsement of Oz was unthinkable is silly. There was logic behind it, and it wasn't 3D logic. It was, "This is a two man race, and the other guy is worse while Oz has some personal loyalty to me."

If Barnett had become a thing a month ago, I'd much more feel like Trump should have considered dropping his endorsement of Oz for her, but this all happened a week before the primary, and it's not because of something Oz did. It's the rise of an alternative few people seem to know anything about.

Having a high win percentage in this, especially if he is actually getting people of a MAGA bent into Congress, gives him a claim to head of the party, made all the stronger by the fact that he's the former president.

I live in an area in the part of the country heavy with Muslims and most of them are doing well. They have a stake. They own stores and businesses that cater to ALL people. They are not going to ruin it.

Trump is more than a flawed politician, he's an ass. But he's our ass and he's earned more credit than people assuming everything he does is simply ego driven, thoughtless or petty. I laid out the strategic reasons why I think Trump endorsed Oz (earlier) and they make perfect logical sense and have little to do with his flaws.

That said I hope Oz loses in the primary or the general because fuck him and he's too impure for me.

How much data can human DNA hold. From what I've read, and it's hard to find, but the number appears to be around 1.5 gig. Do you really think that's enough data to create, repair, and program a human being? We're missing something, that will probably turn up later. Could it be direct download? Some of the behavioral data is transferred from the mother to the child after the hardware has been built.

And so how do retrievers know how to retrieve, and pointers know how to point? How and when do their brains get wired for those specific behaviors, and is it based on some prior experiences or learning by their genetic ancestors that were somehow passed along to them?

I don't know the answers, but it's pretty obvious that we know a lot less about how brains work that we think we do, and there are probably going to be a lot of things discovered in the future that are going to shock and amaze.

Breed a bunch of female herding dogs with male non-herders, and see if all the puppies are herders, or if there are some retrievers and scent hounds and others in the mix. If Mom is teaching them in-utero, they'll all be herding puppies, right?

The direct download idea just came to me when I was trying to find just how much data could be stored in DNA, and ran across the 1.5 gig number and thought that it seemed too small to do all that it had to do to make functioning high level mammals.
