The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

Ah yes...the Biden junta's well-documented hatred of most Americans is nowhere more obvious than on the southern border, where every criminal crossing our undefended border is treated like royalty, while regular Americans are considered only according to their value as pawns and votes.

Wait...let me rephrase that. Every person crossing our border illegally is a criminal. There is nothing complicated about that idea, and the only complexity occurs when our government allows this criminality, and in fact rewards it!

This is particularly egregious, and another significant miscalculation on the part of the amazingly stupid and tone-deaf Kalorama Klowns who are running the show. Most Americans are blissfully ignorant of the workings of our government, and perhaps that is purposeful. But go after their kids and all of a sudden people start paying attention, as the good people of Virginia demonstrated recently with the transgender insanity being shoved down their kids' throats by the leftists in charge of their schools.

Not paying attention to shortages of baby formula is spectacularly stupid. Prioritizing law-breakers on our southern border is just so much worse!

Illegal migrants first to get 'pallets' of hard-to-find baby formula

The nationwide shortage of baby formula that has sent mothers desperately rushing from store to store has evaded one lucky group: illegal immigrants detained by Border Patrol.
According to videos posted by a Florida lawmaker, the Biden administration has been shipping “pallets” of baby formula to migrant holding facilities.
“They are sending pallets, pallets of baby formula to the border,” said Republican Rep. Kat Cammack in one of two online postings yesterday. “Meanwhile, in our own district at home, we cannot find baby formula,” she added, holding a photo of empty shelves where the formula would be.

We have a system that is, in general, extremely efficient but non-robust. That necessarily goes hand-in-hand. Redundancy is expensive and inefficient, so maximally-efficient systems will have lots of single points of failure as only one or two large, efficient outfits (or countries, or shippers, etc.) acts as the source of whatever "X" is. Like when a single huge baby formula factory goes offline and then we have a shortage, likely due to other problems in the supply chain.

That system was brilliant when it worked. Things moved fast and cheaply all over the world. It's lack of robustness has always been a risk. The likely risk was war, but we got the unlikely risk: COVID response. That put too many fractures into the structure. It may well fall apart, which has already started. If it isn't arrested, nobody knows what is going to happen.

They don't have it. They borrow it, usually from the coyotes themselves (a form of vendor financing), but the note is held by the cartel with which the coyote is affiliated. The original vaccine and the booster are the same thing. The more you get the shot, the shorter the time of your temporary pseudo protection. First shot, at about 6 mos you are break even. Fourth shot maybe break even for a two weeks. And the majority of people getting covid now are vaccinated. The unvaccinated are getting it also, but at a significantly lower rate (at least per the data released by NHS in Great Britain, and the Walgreens data base for US).

I didn't say anything about the efficacy of the first vaccine other than the obvious...that it conferred mild resistance to Covid.

The boosters are different because they are acting on immune systems that have already been exposed to the antigen.

And the even more obvious point...that the genome of Covid19 has drifted -- as all viruses drift -- and it is no longer the same thing that the vaccine was designed for.

That's probably another big reason why the booster sucks.

If you're familiar with PA politics, then this sort of thing probably shouldn't surprise you. State level politics is messy, machine-driven, and massively dishonest. Throw in national attention, and it gets all the worse. From everything I've heard, the PA GOP is some of the worst of the bunch.

Besides, it's Ric Grennell. He had some sick burns on Twitter against political enemies, and his political enemy now is a Republican because he's participating in a primary race. Political operatives using underhanded and dishonest attacks really shouldn't surprise anyone.

Actually its the National Guard equivalent - its fine, I think it shows 7.5 years in the Army NG. She might have another couple of years in ROTC before going into the guard.

Not sure what all the stick is about - she wasn't active duty Army, but her resume says Reserves anyway.

That's a huge question. Suppression of symptoms might not decrease transmission because the virus is still being produced by the cells, it just isn't causing much disease in the host.

I think the original vaccine (not the boosters) probably decreases transmission. I think the boosters just extend some mild effect for a short time. But what is weird is that the Israeli data show that eventually it wears off and makes the recipients of the fourth booster (I think) MORE susceptible!

499 I think the original vaccine (not the boosters) probably decreases transmission. I think the boosters just extend some mild effect for a short time. But what is weird is that the Israeli data show that eventually it wears off and makes the recipients of the fourth booster (I think) MORE susceptible!

it isn't weird at all. It is predictable and expected. This is way the rule has always been you do not vaccinate in the middle of a pandemic. It too late and the mutational pressures are increased and causes leakage. And you are actually more likely to get it probably after the first one also, just have longer protection time. Remember pharma's wet dream plan is that you will require endless injections with increasing frequency forever.

That said you are aren't too far off the mark for a layperson.

2010 when everyone realized that. Was the time to have formed a new party. 6 years later Trump would have had members in congress that would work with him. Instead of looking to stab him in the back.
