Someone on the morning thread made a great point about why roe v wade died. Leftists killed it.

They killed it when they got rid of shame in society. No one cares if you're pregnant. No one is ashamed of out of wedlock childbirth. No one has to get married any more, and no one has to have an abortion any more.

It's a fantastic point. The left killed Roe v Wade.

Today is the Feast Day of St. Pius V, the Pope who promulgated the Tridentine Rite that the incumbent is trying to quash. The collect (a prayer between the Introit and Epistle) is, in the 1962 Missal:

Deus, qui, ad conterendos Ecclesiae tuae hostes et ad divinum cultum reparandum, beatum Pium Pontificem maximum eligere dignatus es: fac nos ipsius defendi praesidiis et ita tuis inhaerere obsequiis; ut, omnium hostium superatis insidiis, perpetua pace laetemur.

O God, who deigned to choose blessed Pius to be Pontifex Maximus in order to smash the enemies of Your Church to bits and to renew the divine worship, cause us to be defended by his protections and to cleave with obedience to what You will in such way that, once the plots of all our enemies are overcome, we may rejoice in perpetual peace.

We need more of this.

76 Well, I went to the township committee and read the resolution drafted by a community conservative about the TC needing to support American sovereignity, the constitution and, Judeo-Christianity morality. They refused to even address it and the leftist Mayor started gavelling away and called a recess but no before some woman said she was very offended by such a waste of time as to the resolution, and also that (GASP!) some people didn't have masks even though it is required and the room was a good sized on with people sittting six feet apart.

The conservative guy also didn't like lots of money being spent on a TC website while a lot less was spent on the volunteer EMT and the Mayor insisted the website saved lived from Covid.

Also, the health czar insisted that it was unvaccinated people who were causing a rise in Covd cases.

It is the nature of love to bind itself, and the institution of marriage merely paid the average man the compliment of taking him at his word.'

This is a perfectly possible, rational and manly position. But what have lovers to do with ridiculous affectations of fearing no man or woman? They know that in the turning of a hand the whole cosmic engine to the remotest star may become an instrument of music or an instrument of torture. They hear a song older than Suckling's, that has survived a hundred philosophies. 'Who is this that looketh out of the window, fair as the sun, clear as the moon, terrible as an army with banners?'

Let me guess. The dead mechanic didn't have health, life or worker's comp coverage either his own or through the business, which was owned by an illegal alien who also had no insurance of any kind, or even a license to operate the business, and the driver of the jeep, also an illegal, didn't have insurance or even a driver's license?

But the jeep has comp, collision, PIP and the owner is a citizen of the US.

It is amazing how humans, when reading action books or watching action movies and TV shows, get anxious about the main character being killed beginning early the book/movie. It is not rational - why would there be another 300 pages or 90 minutes left if the protagonist is killed now? But I and everyone else always has the same fear that this time, the hero is toast. Good authors and screenplay writers can play humans like a fiddle, as can good politicians and con-artists (BIRM).

The Philly Flyers Broad Street Bullies always had two or three enforcers - guys who they didn't care got tossed out of the game - actually that was their jobs.

The Rangers have always played a gentleman's hockey - while the Broad Street Bullies would have long since knocked Crosby into LuLu land in the first period. NYR are just not tough enough to win this I think...

I imagine its like driving on ice. Keep the RPMs down, use an extra gear, and momentum is your friend. Avoid excess steering or brake inputs. You don't want to make a "rooster tail" ... just a slow, steady stream of blood and guts.

And once the pavement gets dry, flip back into two wheel. No sense in putting extra stress on the drive train.

Sorry. It's the mechanic's own fault. By agreeing to work in an environment that allowed unqualified people to operate vehicles, he implicitly accepted the possibility of injury or death.

I used to be able to grill corn on the cob to perfection.

My secret: peel the corn down to 1-2 layers of husk. Then place over indirect flame or the upper rack. It took about 45 minutes, but worth it.

The thin layer of husk would insulate the corn from burning or drying out.

How much of it is based on the general privateness of them and the implications of being able to see them. She testified to a bunch of new stuff that she never mentioned in the U.K. trial, like claiming that Depp sexually assaulted her with a liquor bottle (during the incident where she threw a bottle at him and cut off his finger tip) and strangled her to the point where she couldn't breathe. She's probably going to get skewered on cross tomorrow. Judging by the article comments, nobody is buying Heard's testimony.

The world lacks femininity. They've supplanted feminity with some sort of Kick Ass Girls image which is not femininity but negates it by trying to substitute, instead, an inferior form of masculinity performed by women. Women are so much more wonderful and vital than the silly roles that liberalism has tried to offer up in their stead. Also, feminism is not women going out and trying to out horndog men either. At least not as a man does.

I'm a man and I admit I can't define it well but I certainly know that this world sorely lacks the necessary role that women play. I feel their absence in culture and society mightily.
