If people wanna practice defense of pistol use, get you in a body, a couple of paintball pistols, and a couple of masks. Square off and have quick draw competitions against each other. Yes. The problem comes and goes so I suspect it's related to some ad but is particularly bad today. I thought it was just a Safari problem so I switched to Brave and it still happens. Turn off Javascript. Brave lets you do that on a per-site basis so if you just turn it off for ace.mu.nu you should be OK.

Will holding it firmly and point-shooting get you 80% of the way there? Yeah, pretty much.
The last 20% is a different pickle, and if you're carrying a gun to defend your life and you might potentially need to hit a human-sized target under extreme stress, you might want to work on the last 20%. Just an opinion.

Oh, I think just about any gun can be mastered with time. I do think sticking with a duty sized (4" barrel, 15ish rounds) is a good compromise that most people will shoot well.
Tiny pistols and revolvers are hard to shoot well. Again, especially one-handed.

TBH, I only shoot two handed, and my stance is not kosher as far as the " book" goes. My shooting is good, not great. I have seen some people at the range who shoot guns that are waaay too big for them. Mostly women. My theory is their wrist strength is not up to the task.

I also mostly shoot two-handed. It's how I was trained and it makes the most sense. But IDPA has been running a lot of one-handed drills and I discoved I suck at that. So...I'm training more one-handed.
You might be right about 'too much gun' for some women. I do think most women can fire 9mm out of a medium sized gun. The Nurse and my wife shoot .45s really well too.
A stiff right arm (Weaver or Modified Weaver) is a good recoil tamer.

I am left handed, and left eye dominant. If I shot righthanded, I think the range would sue me for damages. OT, but I was in a range one day when ther was a class for noobs come in. I left within five minutes - the fingers on riggers and gun waving around freaked me out. The instructor should have been shot, along with the range master. Never went back.

From what I've seen of his vids, Taran Butler's a damned good shot, but I wish he'd lay off the mashed potatoes. Dood's easily a 300+ lb porker.

Rifle shooting is another matter. Trigger control is essential. Hell, in a scope you can easily see your heart beat on the target. A jerked trigger means a miss or a wounded animal. I am most careful to manage my trigger when hunting. I shoot a single shot rifle. And if a steady rest is available, I use it. If the shot is iffy, I let him walk.

I think it's maybe the perfect action / revenge movie. Everything you need to know about Wick and his motivation is learned immediately, and then you go along for the ride. It also works because you accept him as suicidal, and you can sort of believe he could be that lucky for that run, too. It could maybe happen.
Shame they had to screw it up with the back story crap in II and III. Especially when they introduce the female John Wick who is equally lucky.
Number 1 was so damn good, though.

I got fucked up, I ain't superman, but MAN the second my friends and their GIRLFRIENDS came out and saw me laughing as I was getting kicked on the ground, Shit got real for them.
