Biden Seeks Sweeping New Powers To Confiscate Wealth to Fight The Enemy

To fight the fascists, we had to become the fascists.

Before getting to that, Biden also demands another $33 billion for a foreign country, and Pelosi wants to attach $22.5 billion in further foreign aid to that.

We're just pissing out billions like we've been drinking them by the quart all night, huh?

There is wide, bipartisan support in Congress for giving Ukraine all the assistance it needs to fight the Russians, and its eventual approval seems certain. But Biden and congressional Democrats also want lawmakers to approve billions more to battle the pandemic, and that along with a Republican push to entangle the measure with an extension of some Trump-era immigration restrictions leaves the proposal's pathway to enactment unclear.

In an accompanying letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Biden also asked lawmakers to include an additional $22.5 billion for vaccines, treatments, testing and aid to other countries in continuing efforts to contain COVID-19.

But that figure, which Biden also requested last month, seems aspirational at best. In a compromise with Republicans, Senate Democrats have already agreed to pare that figure to $10 billion, and reviving the higher amount would be at best an uphill fight.

Wow what a compromise. Boy those Senate Republican are really Fighting For Us, huh?

And I do appreciate their Courage in pretending to fight to make the Ukraine aid contingent on extending Title 42 before they drop that demand like a bad habit.

Biden also wants the power to seize person property based on a deliberately vague string of qualifiers, which is definitely not a dry run for seizing the estates of future political enemies (like Elon Musk).

Biden was also asking Congress on Thursday for new powers to seize and repurpose the assets of Russian oligarchs.

He wants lawmakers to make it a criminal offense for a person to "knowingly or intentionally possess proceeds directly obtained from corrupt dealings with the Russian government," double the statute of limitations for foreign money laundering offenses to 10 years, and expand the definition of "racketeering" under U.S. law to include efforts to evade sanctions.

Biden will also ask Congress to allow the federal government use the proceeds from selling the seized assets of sanctioned Russian oligarchs to help the people of Ukraine.

If you think that is alarming, you haven't seen nothin' yet.

Further proof that America 2022 is just the Soviet Union 1978 below, as our decrepit figurehead "leader" shows galloping dementia even in reading prepared remarks, and our Nomenklatura Kremlin class remains silent about what is happening right in front of their corrupt, Inner Party eyes.

"Ill-begotten gains."

They corruptly gave birth to their gains.

First of all - yeah, the spending is bad. Secondly - yeah, the arbitrary of seizure of property is bad.

But let's not lose sight of the big picture, here. All of this is just pre-game. This is the stuff we do before the stuff we really want to do, and it creates the environment that makes the actual end goal possible.

What our pocket-stuffing tyrants want is an intergenerational conflict in Eastern Europe. A stupendously expensive, interminable, and ultimately catastrophic adventure that enriches their donors, while humiliating our country and strengthening our rivals. And they want to pay for it all with your money and your kids' lives, and to use it as a pretext for further curtailing your freedoms.

Add to that a price drop in the market and Ukraine becomes an unsustainable drag on their economy. Things start collapsing on them, which is when things get dangerous.

They don't have that time. Japan which has been effectively killing its own currency since the 90's is now desperately trying to shore up the yen. Last I checked, their public debt was well over 300 pct of GDP. We are next with serious cracks in the US as reserve currency--if the Euro and Petro dollar go bye bye, we will be seeing import export controls, currency limits, etc. similar to UK post WWII.

The European Union and China are in about the same shape and the massive increase in energy prices is already whacking at EU GDP and China is hit with covid lockdowns plus high energy with their real estate industry crumbling in slo motion like Japan did in the 1990's.

I think that the cash grabs right now in DC are desperate attempts by elected officials to get the plunder while the plunder still has some value. They have more or less written off voters at this stage.

Pavloxid is more like Pfizer mectrin. The only difference is that you have to drop a lot of medications in order to take it due to interactions. The interactions are caused by the two drug cocktail designed after AIDS treatments. One drug is in the cocktail (taken from AIDS protocols) solely to prolong the effect of the antiviral. That drug that prolongs the effect of the antiviral is what causes Pavloxid to interact with so many other medications as it slows their clearance from the body risking higher concentrations of those drugs in the blood than designed.

249 $33 billion to Ukraine.

Let's compare that to what we provided to Afghanistan between 2003 and 2016. According to the GAO, we supplied $76 billion to the Afghan security forces:

https://tinyurl.com/3362x4w3

We're giving UKR half as many armaments as we did in Afghanistan in 14 years. If I'm visualizing all the arms that were left there in the Great Bagram Bugout, I can't imagine the Ukes even utilizing half of what we're sending them. Where does the rest of that funding go? I guess to ask the question is to answer it.

People had the raw skills to fix broken down mechanical items and those items themselves were repairable. Supply chains were domestic and often very local requiring little transport. And so on. Dunno what will happen in this case--one little bit of hope is that prior to the Fed Govt and the Fed screwing up and prolonging the Depression, most panics aka depressions lasted only one or two years before pulling out of them. Essentially both FedGov and the Fed have more or less killed their own tools by overuse--the risk is that FedGov tries to make the suffering equal or equitable at the point of a gun. If you know someone suffering from long covid, have them get help as they know a lot more about it than last year. Dunno whether related but I also have to have newly discovered lumps in thyroid biopsied next week and this week had tooth trouble with a crown causing an abscess leading to a root canal probably tomorrow.

Jane, I would seriously get checked on your brain fog via a long haul clinic. I am having to undergo relearning smell via aroma therapy and some strategies for the brain used to rehab stroke victims.

In my case, I had a bad case with similar long haul symptoms in January 21 Coof infection through April. My doctors advised taking the J&J vaccine as treatment in April of 2021 which I did one day prior to J&J being taken off the market. It seemed to help until mid June where I had a relapse with dangerous blood pressure spikes to stroke level and some symptoms reoccuring. Then I got Coof again this January. The only difference between the infections was I got bronchitis as the follow on infection in Feb 21 and followon pneumonia and a sinus infection from Coof in 2022. I probably avoided hospitalization this Jan by taking Pavloxid.

My advice if you do get long haul treatment is stay the hell away from letting them inject more vaccine into you.

475 In the law Statutes of Limitations are also referred to as "statutes of repose."

The common sense reason is that at a certain point the difficulty of trying to reconstruct remote events outweighs the benefit. And an implicit assumption is that if something was a BFD on Day 1, someone aggrieved shouldn't wait an infinite period of time to seek redress.

So the "extension of statute of limitations" to 10 years, while on one surface "reasonable" ("What, are you in Putin's pocket ?!") in practice becomes a license for an unscrupulous prosecutor to perform a dry, forensic-accounting 10 year colonoscopy on anyone they choose to "investigate." For example, what Letitia James (NY AG) is trying to do to all things "Trump." The sheer costs and distraction of such "investigations" would crush almost anyone into pleading to something, anything just to make it stop.

So yeah, F this entirely. I just hope the new Congress can keep track of all the new threats the left keeps launching. "Swarm" lawfare seems to be their preferred method these days.

Menthol accounts for more than a third of cigarettes sold in the U.S, and the mint flavor is overwhelmingly favored by Black smokers and young people.

The FDA will also seek to ban menthol and dozens of over sweet and fruity flavors from small cigars, which are increasingly popular with young people, especially Black teens.

Yes, I would say so. I am in a bit of an usual condition to evaluate it because I have had to have extensive blood tests etc. since being diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis and have blood and test data going back to 2014 or so. My guess it is has something to do with the ACE2 receptors throughout the body being locked up by the spike protein causing unpredictable effects. The worst was that with Coof pt 1, the vaxx, and Coof pt 2, I had unpredictable blood pressure spikes of both systolic and diastolic up to stroke levels and similar unpredictable serious drops in O2 saturation to the lower 90's. I can say after being poked, prodded, irradiated, and magnetized all over that my lungs per se are fine even after pneumonia with no ground glass effect being observed. What I am having trouble with is that I have no stamina and even a short walk or standing too long can lead to a drop in O2 saturation (been tested a bit on on that very item along with self testing).

533 It is on our strategic interest to keep Ukraine in the fight. Give them money for weapons. If the Russians get through Ukraine, they will be looking at Poland next. And we will then be sending our boys in. You want no blood - pay to keep Ukraine in the fight.

534 425 419 Huh. Are residential mortgages with excellent credit and 20% down really going for around 5.5% right now? If so, look out below, housing bubble.

Cynically, when that happens I will still be able to get more than I've put into this house and take the proceeds to buy a new failed mortgage.

thank you HUD.

536 So the former Warsaw pact members of NATO cough over some of their Soviet made armaments and get to buy quality Lockheed Martin and Raytheon products. And most of the gang in Congress get a bottle of whiskey at Christmas. With a fat envelope attached.

A Russian General just announced that Moldovia is next. If you think Russia will stop with Ukraine and not keep looking west I think that is a bad bet. We need Russia to weaken herself further in Ukraine.

Better yet, they're the new woke Lockheed and Raytheon products. The bombs play the Islamic call to prayer while falling, and the missiles are now shaped like vaginas instead of phalluses.

543 Biden wants more war powers for his economic war on Russia, but at the same time he's fueling Russia's strangling Europe of natural gas by keeping the US from producing more of it. It's almost as if Biden's only goal is the accumulation of his personal power.

544 So what good does it do to send "aid" to Ukraine, if it's just going to either A. prolong the war, or B. start WWIII.

Aid to Ukraine gets scrubbed and sent back to politicians who voted for it, into the pockets of politicians there, and used to purchase weapons at cut rates from US companies and then sold on a huge open market to anyone who wants them, like Iran and Pakistan.

Oh, and a few token thousands to the people of Ukraine.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at April 28, 2022 12:10 PM (KZzsI)

Plus we can send junk weapons not worth a cent to Ukraine, have the Russians blow them up, and have the taxpayers pay full price twice - Ukraine 'pays' us by loans we gave them, and contractors here have to replace the stocks with expensive new stuff.

It makes a little more sense if one group is backing war with Russia while another is placating the Eco-geek factions, but not a lot.

Posted by: Oldcat at April 28, 2022 01:34 PM (eoQWY)

546 Maybe? Ukraine is showing willingness to fight and Western/modern weapons are making a big impact. The Ukes have a pretty big army.

I don't know if they can win but Russia could lose. I wouldn't put big odds on it, but it could happen.

The bulk of Ukranian forces are surrounded in the Donbas without hope of relief or resupply. Distractions in Moldova, a Nato aided strike at a boat in the sea, none of that will change the fact that in a little while those troops will be killed or captured, and the refusal to negotiate seriously is a betrayal of the Ukranian forces fighting there.

552 This is all a big scam. Fed government at this point is simply organized crime. This is probably the biggest money laundering scheme in the history of money, laundry and schemes. They send untold billions to pay crooks in Europe. The crooks send a percentage back to the politicians through "clean" channels. That's one of the reasons they want to escalate the conflict. Bigger conflict, bigger payoffs.
