TWITTER: WE'VE ACCEPTED ELON MUSK'S OFFER

Twitter press release:

Twitter, Inc. today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk, for $54.20 per share in cash in a transaction valued at approximately $44 billion. Upon completion of the transaction, Twitter will become a privately held company.

Under the terms of the agreement, Twitter stockholders will receive $54.20 in cash for each share of Twitter common stock that they own upon closing of the proposed transaction. The purchase price represents a 38% premium to Twitter's closing stock price on April 1, 2022, which was the last trading day before Mr. Musk disclosed his approximately 9% stake in Twitter.

Let the tears flow like wine.

Already lefties are vowing that they're leaving Twitter. Good. A great many of them are mentally ill and Twitter has been shown to be very bad for mental health, especially for neurotics and obsessives. I hope they get the help they need.

Ah, who am I kidding, they're not leaving Twitter. They're addicts.

Musk is being gracious in victory and talking up pluralism and tolerance for the speech of those you detest -- as he championed before he won.

Elon Musk
@elonmusk

I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means

Supposedly, per a book by a WSJ reporter -- if you can believe the propaganda media, which you probably can't -- Elon Musk was known for "ruthlessly" firing people who who "disagreed with him" or disappointed him at SpaceX.

Waah.

But if true, this could be... helpful for The Culling of the Nose-Rings and Purple-Hairs.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has denied allegations in the past that he has a propensity for rage firing people, but a new book tells a different story.

"Power Play: Tesla, Elon Musk, and the Bet of the Century," by The Wall Street Journal's Tim Higgins details numerous instances when the CEO appeared to fire employees and contractors out of sheer anger.

The book, released on Tuesday, reveals that Musk developed an atmosphere of fear at Tesla -- an environment where the billionaire had a reputation for exploding at top executives and employees on the assembly line alike.

Right on cue, the New York Times and FX (which is now owned by Disney) announce an anti-Musk hitpiece documentary about the self-driving car initiative.

There's not going to be a sudden allowance of violent or N@zi content on Twitter.

But what will be allowed is "controversial" statements like... men have penises and women have vaginas.

That is what all the shrieking is about.

Oh -- and the ability to #rig the information space in the six months before key elections, of course.

disinformationmenpregnant.jpg

Transexuals or transexual "allies" were calling for and threatening to kill LibsofTikTok with assault rifles, which is now a much more tangible threat thanks to Media Matters and the Washington Post bird-dogging her for assassins.

Twitter chose to take no action.

Screenshot (2080).png

We'll see if Musk continues this "banning for the Bee, but tranny terrorists can threaten to shoot women with rifles without consequence" policy. I doubt it.

And obviously the Bee will be back.

Boy, Twitter sure fucked up when it banned the Bee, huh?

That was literally the last censorship-straw that broke Elon Musk's patience-back.

The Babylon Bee

Don't fuck with Jesus' class clowns.

Musk should invite all critics to write down and tweet everything they imagine will happen to twitter under new management, every worst fear, every dark prediction. Then he should convene a forum in six months to review where twitter is.

As hyperbole and hysteria are the first refuge of the Left, over and over again, it is important to put this tactic under the scope and hold the fear-mongerers accountable.

The novel is generating controversy for a scene in which Rowling is killed off during a fire at a Scottish castle in a story a character is telling around a campfire.

Boom.

This is good stuff. And it's real news. This story actually *deserves* a flaming skull.

A blow to the State's monopoly on information. And to their internal media messaging apparatus. And without any regime actors being involved.

Not everyone can do what Musk did here. In fact, nobody but a super-ultra-mega rich guy like him could. But everyone can take a queue. If you have any way to fuck up the plans of our regime, even if its tiny, do it. On your own initiative.

Nobody in the system will help. All change must come from the outside.

Not all of the dotcom blow-ups were vaporware. A lot of them were, but a lot of them were very real companies with very real products who had market valuation and internal projections and guidance based on growth at current rates forever. A lot of those companies also engaged in very very poor financial practices since they were certain that the growth was coming and permanent.

Sun Microsystems (now part of Oracle) and Cisco Systems (still around, still big, still important, still valuable) are some prime examples of the latter. The internet boom would grow to the sky unchecked until there were more internet users than there were people, and so all those web servers (Sun) and switchgear (Cisco) would be needed at ever-accelerating rates - so it's cool if we engage in vendor financing at a large scale. The vaporware as the popular memory, but there was a lot of real shit caught up in the madness, too

(1) Not so sure about the supposed mass exodus of the "principled employees" when push comes to shove with their paychecks.

(2) OTOH, Musk may just be able to do the dragging. I have no doubt he was an interested observer of how Trump was undermined by the deep state and how devastating the deep state was to Trump's efforts.

(3) I suspect Musk has factored all this into his effort. Maybe he thinks he can cut a check and sit back & watch his minions make Twitter transform itself. But I doubt it; I imagine he knows the stables will need to be mucked out to make this work.

465 While it is difficult to prove a negative, that quarter pounder/third pounder thing almost certainly never happened. See link in nic, but basically the only evidence it happened is a side comment about a focus group by a failed executive at least a decade later.

1. Focus groups don’t work that way.
2. Executives aren’t allowed at focus group sessions, so they didn’t see what the focus group actually said.
3. The company never made any of the obvious advertising strategy changes, such as those suggested on this thread.
4. Failed executives take any chance they can of passing the buck.

The applause, respect, and honor you get from being damn good at articulating an idea or presenting an argument is powerful and welcome, especially if like me, you're largely a loser in life.

And this is where, humbly, and respectfully, I wonder if you have a remedy to apply here? What do we do to deal with the nevertrump pearl clutchers, the "My principles" crowd, or is there anything at all that must be done?

515 > Musk said one of the features he wants to bring to Twitter is "authenticating all humans". Is ID verification going to be mandatory?

One of many sneaky shit things Twitter does is verify very shady accounts. There are thousands of crypto scammer accounts with 400 followers that have a blue checkmark. Meanwhile, people posting under their real names with tens of thousands of followers are not verified.

I don't know what Musk plans to do about that, but I suspect that's one of the things his statement is about.

581 The fundamental issue with social media platforms, news and even streaming is saturation. Many people will use it only to a certain degree and then shut it off. It is a multi channel environment in which the streams cover or relate to the same topic/themes. It becomes easier for people to disconnect and shut it off. That why you see a lot of the real subscriber-ship dropping or you see viewing down. You also see an increase in other activities outside the media sphere. I talked to a analyst the other day who was theorizing that streaming and participation in social media is going to fall off a cliff. He was showing me overall viewership of sectors like cable news and how after the election they dropped off precipitously. Interesting stuff

Some people can deal with it fine but it's like people who can smoke a cigarette or have a drink whenever they want, and abstain from said same.

603 It is amazing to me that a cutting edge Tech company like Twitter can't figure out the obvious bots. I follow some financial stock tickers on Twitter and there is a handful where it's the same script, word for word, thousands of times and I will report and block and it just doesn't matter. They keep swarming. At the very least, have some algo that picks up on that script when it's copy and pasted. Seems basic.

But if some conservative uses satire like "learn to code" Twitter will have their "A Team" on the issue and banning people left and right. No stone unturned.

The entire situation in Ukraine is in part because the Clintons in the 90s chose to deliberately antagonize Russia by expanding NATO (which not surprisingly is the WEF's position). And now that it's happened, they're going to... further expand NATO.

715 Who would have though B-Bee would become the flashpoint of the counterrevolution? Some history book way down the road will probably take note "when the fasco-communists went after young children with gender ideology indoctrination in public schools that ran counter to both biology and traditional values, many people were alarmed and crypto-communist movement lost much of its support quickly, it was however the censorship of humor and satire by private social media companies that shifted attitudes about the movement from ideological opposition to outright resistance due to a perceived immediate threat to free society. Perceiving despotic goals within the movement a rift quickly formed between those supporting a new modernist based coercive fasco-communist global order, and those whom still favored enlightenment based free society. A political alliance between right leaning libertarian and more traditional conservative elements began at this point to include political independents and moderate liberals. While globalist authoritarian apologetics would cause much of the existing 'conservative' political leaders to lurch left in support of global fasco-communist hegemony."
