Taylor Lorenz is about to "expose" the private citizen behind some anonymous account on Twitter, and when people criticize her for it, she and her friends will claim Taylor is the Real Victim (TM) and anyone criticizing this type of "journalism" will be guilty of causing her trauma.

What's the new journalistic principle being applied? Is it now permissible for journalists to investigate and expose the real identity of any anonymous social media user? Or is it just permissible if the anonymous social media user has a certain kind of politics?

I have a feeling that wouldn't be applauded, even though Taylor, unlike the Twitter user she "exposed," is a public figure
I feel confident that if a Fox crew did to Taylor what Taylor did to this citizen - show up at the homes of her relatives to dig for dirt - a national media and mental health crisis would be declared.
That's because, again, this has nothing to do with journalism: just politics.

A reporter who was just working for a newspaper might be able to do a bit more doxxing than the average Joe by having access to Lexis Nexis and maybe some skiptracing tools, but I'd bet good money that Lorenz is getting fed intelligence from fusion centers or the NSA.

We're reaching the opening stage of the decline of streaming. Streaming is expensive to maintain if your objective is to attract eyeballs with new content. $12 a month per customer has been obviously not enough money for a long time. Maybe $30 a month, but no one will pay that.

Disney will probably end up the mid-term king of streaming because they have other business segments that can help support it that Netflix doesn't have.

Theoretically streaming was supposed to make everything easy and streamlined and make it easy to cut the cord and still get all the content you wanted. The actual execution of it is the opposite of that. I don't want to have to manage 10 subscriptions to different services to access the one or two things I want to watch on each, so I just don't. I miss out on the idle chit-chat about the hot new series that everyone's watching but I don't feel like my life is missing much otherwise.

I keep my cable and watch Wheel of Fortune and the Golf Channel and not much else.

I'm doubtful. Disney isn't getting streaming hits like the other services. I have to believe a lot of people are wondering what the service truly offers. Watching old shows is fading as a reason for streaming. The thing is, Disney has always sucked at online services. History is littered with their failures. In fact, the GOP controlled House should just extend the tenure of the 1/6 committee and train its focus on Pelosi/Schumer/Schiff/Epps/The FBI/Wray/etc. I want all of Nancy Pelosi's text messages from 2 weeks prior to 1/6 to two weeks after subpoenaed and then leaked to the press. The Democrats have set several bad precedents in the conduct of investigations and impeachments and it's going to come back to bite them as the control of the House shifts.
