Washington Post Doxes LibsofTikTok In Order to Intimidate One of the Right's Most Effective Champions

This isn't journalism, this is gangsterism.

They published her full name and a link to her address, as well as to her real estate license, which of course was done solely for the purpose of generating politically-motivated professional complaints against her and depriving her of her income.

That's what they always do. That's the entire point now of "journalism."

I will not be publishing any of that.

They also want you to know she's a Jew and furthermore, one of the really bad, really weird Jews that it's okay to hate.

Note that Orthodox Jews are being routinely punched out on the street in New York City so well done Washington Post.

Taylor Lorenz -- the heinously ugly goblin hag who lies ridiculously about her age so she can appear "young" to the teenage TikTokers who are her beat -- actually got off her couch for once to harass LibsofTikTok's relatives, knocking on their doors and demanding they answer questions about their family member for a piece intended to get her unemployed, harassed, and possibly physically assaulted or killed.

I find it deeply suspicious that Twitter returned LibsofTikTok's control of her account just in time for her to be doxed.

I didn't cover this, because I don't know how much you care about internet-inside-baseball, but Taylor Lorenz was whining a couple of weeks ago about people harassing her online.

Taylor Lorenz's entire career consists of harassing people online.

She was the one who doxed Pamela Gellar's tweenaged daughters. They each had their own careers as Instagram influencers, and did not advertise their relationship with their controversial mom. They did not go by their full names.

Taylor Lorenz doxed these tweenaged girls to hurt their careers just because she didn't like their mom's politics.

She also falsely accused a Silicon Valley entrepreneur of saying the r-word (correction: the r- word, not the n- word -- they look the same on the screen!) in an online chat hangout although he clearly did not, and a simple review of the tape would have established that, and later did establish that. But she wanted a scalp and so spread this possibly career-ending defamation.

Because she's a Real Reporter.

And also, she really hates Online Harasssment. She hates bullies!

Her entire career is doxing. And also, absurdly lying about her age as she rapidly decrepifies so that she can say How Are You Doing, Fellow Kids? in creepy DMs to tweens.

At no point in her piece does Lorenz make LibsofTikTok's identity relevant to the story at all. She does not somehow weave LibsofTikTok's personal biography into the story of the account to show how she came to launch her crusade against wokeness in schools; she does not show how her upbringing made her resentful of teachers abusing their positions of influence over children.

No. There is not even the pretense that LibsofTikTok's name, address, or profession is in any way connected to anything newsworthy here. This is nakedly a case of gangster "journalism" -- you have an nice life here, ay? Would be a shame if someone were to turn it upside down and tell violent political-obsessive psychopaths where to find you, where to find your children, and what you all looked like, ay?

Sort of. I mean, it's true, but I think it might miss the point.

The New Journalism isn't about reporting at all. The Old Journalism was about reporting, and usually to push a message. But the New Journalism is different. Reporting doesn't matter. In the new version, it's about activism and so the reporting is irrelevant and is just a vehicle for the activism. Saying "this is bad" is not activism, it's just reporting with a bias. Saying "this is bad, and here's where the son of a bitch lives" *is* activism.

People wear fitbits or "Pedometers" to count steps. Sometime in the seventies it became completely-invented "science" that you're supposed to get 10,000 or more steps per day to remain in good health. They made that up in Japan.

That might be made up but 1, walking is good and 2, 10,000 might not be the "right" number but you would want something at least more than, say, 5,000? Preferably closer to 7 or 8,000?

I've never been interested in buying a FitBit. Miss Linda got me something similar, a wrist monitor that tells you how far you've walked or run, the elapsed time, your average heart rate, stuff like that. But you have to tap it to move from one readout to another. And if you tap it too hard, it thinks you want to end the session. I wear my regular stopwatch-wristwatch as well when I work out.

I have no idea how many steps I do in a day even when I don't walk/trot 1-2 miles to start with. But I bet I did more than 1000 in a day when I was sick with The Coof in late 2019.

Yeah they won't be perfect but you can get a feel for how consistent you walk each day I think. Previous job I could hit 10,000-15,000 steps a day. New job it's more in the 5,000 to 7,000 range. I don't think its completely accurate but it does show a bit of a daily consistency. With weekends being negligible because I'm not walking around my home with my phone in my pocket.

The last several times Stumblin' Joe has gotten on/off the 747 version of Air Force 1, he's used a hatchway to its lower deck. That hatch has stairs built-in. He did it again this morning to get in the 747 for his trip to New Hampshire. It is a much shorter climb than up/down from the main deck hatch on airport-provided portable stairs. Up to now he's always gotten on/off the 747 at the main deck level. From the lower deck, he can get to the main deck using stairs not visible outside the plane, or use a small elevator.

He did use the airport's portable stairway when he flew on the 757 AF1 last week. That requires only about 2/3 of the steps needed to get to/from the AF1 main deck level.

sometimes the phone uses its internal gyroscope to determine if a step was taken, and then guesses as to the length of a step. If it guesses the wrong length of your stride, it will give the wrong distance walked.

Jessie played a hymn-we were happy about that- and we had someone who has been assisted living and hadn't been out to church-but her friend brought her-so it was good to have her. Look up Faraday cages and pouches but you have to figure out what frequencies that your phone uses. There are ways to do deal with privacy though and usually involve such things as alternative burner phones etc. One of the better tricks is to purposefully corrupt the data with your cell phone popping up here and there (give to spouse or friend to carry for example).

The older phones with removable batteries were somewhat easier but allegedly still gave out weak signals--just not strong enough to go beyond some means of blocking it.
