Quebec, City after the rain,

What is this faucet magic?

Dog: A stump is just a stick that God has pre-buried.

this red dog is weird

f*** this game

Cow meets squirrel.

Cat refuses to get out of her nook.

Poor cat got dressed up in the Ralphie costume for Easter.

Surf and turf snuggle buddies.

Little hero's welcome.

I gotta think that they added CGI to the engine here.

Or is this legit?

There's a small bar/restaurant up on the upper town level, just out of the picture to the right, where I had the best croissant evah (second best was a place in Saigon). Yuuge bowls of cafe au lait. Medieval-looking street.

In my early teens, I punched a few holes in my grandfather's big sheet metal equipment building, shooting at birds in the rafters with my Crosman pump pellet rifle. We'd watch some birds fly in, then run over and close the big doors behind us fast as we could. I punched a lot more holes in metal than in pigeons, swallows, and sparrows. Eventually the birds found ways out or we ran out of ammo in our pockets.

109 Sorry, but I just noticed this line in one of Ace's earlier posts featuring the Taylor Lorenz kook: "Last time I heard that one, Taylor Lorenz fell off her dinosaur, which bucked because her nasty fartclam was giving it hives."

Question, Ace: are you now, or were you ever, a professional comedy writer? Because so much of this stuff is, as Kenny Bania would say, "Gold, Jerry! Gold!" There aren't many bloggers who make me laugh out loud, but you lead that very small pack. Bless you for it.

142 While soft contacts don't exactly "go bad," contact solution can act as a breeding ground for germs over time. Reduce your risk of eye infection by tossing lenses that have been sitting in solution for more than 30 days. The best plan is to follow the suggested replacement schedule of the lens, whether it's monthly, weekly or daily.

Also, soft contacts that sit in solution for a long time may eventually dry out as the solution evaporates. Dried-out lenses may be damaged, so don't try to rehydrate and reuse them. Throw out those shriveled-up lenses and put in a fresh pair of contacts.

I'm really considering it. Being nearsided as hell and then presb-whatever hits me really sucked. I have 1 and only one focal range now. Having hold my head up and stare down my nose to read with my glasses or wearing the horrid multifocal lenses all sucked. If I could get an improvement I'd be glad. The results are mixed though. If you've up there in age (over 65) or had the lense hardening for a while it might not do anything. It minimises your night vision, obviously. And it only lasts 5-10 hours a day depending on your severity. It will probably eventually be approved for multiple uses a day though.

It's supposed to have zero effect on all other focal distances. But some people see no benefit. Also people are a bit slower going between near and far. I always wondered why they can't just make something that softens up your lenses again. But if this works it would be nice. It has been used for glaucoma for a good while with those patients taking multiple doses all during the day. But as Vuity it is kind of expensive I think. The average price is 80$ a month with just one dose for both eyes per day.

Delilah went into the vet three weeks ago and weighed 82 pounds, which is 10 pounds too much. So we started rationing her food and being more systematic about exercising her on the dog treadmill: two minutes at a walk, 15 minutes at a good trot and two minutes at a walk.

She went in again yesterday for a progesterone baseline measurement. She weighed 84 pounds.

So not only does she suck, she causes other people to want to suck.

Our neighbors sold their house two weeks ago for cash money. Just walked the dogs past their house today as they were loading the uhaul truck and there was a guy in a suit with a briefcase walking up the drive to do the final inspection. I suspect his company will try to flip that house. They bought that house 5 years ago for $99,000 and sold it this month for $169,000.

It does hurt some people that have special needs children. I have a friend that has a son with Down syndrome, he's probably 24. My other friend is over 29 and her brother is developmentally disabled and she referred to her brother as retarded and the other girl got so mad. I felt bad for her but my other friend said Fred was diagnosed as mentally retarded as a child or something and it was on.
I won't say retard in front of her because my goal isn't to hurt my friends.
Fred also will tell you he's retarded, he's 29 like the rest of us.

281 Been catching up on the idiocy of what the US has become with the mental midget in the WH. Why does that retard and his minions feel the need to cater to the estimated 2 to 15% of the population that is even more mentally and emotionally unstable than he is. He already has their locked in vote. Political death wish? Fail spectacularly so that FJB is the epitome of uselessness and stupidity. Someone needs to tell the mental midget it's not a race for the lowest popularity and polling numbers in history. I'm not that naive that I'm missing the majority of US adults wanting sexualized children and masks staples to their faces forever.

Dad, who was from Western Mass, took me to a game at Fenway between the BoSox and the Detroit Tigers in 1975. Last time I looked, my ex was in Florida. No surprise there.

I last spoke to her close to twenty years ago. I got a call from her at my workplace (it used to be hers, too). Lotsa hemming and hawing, "Hi, it's me ... we used to be married ... [ WTF? no shit! ] ... water over the bridge / under the dam ..." I cut to the chase: "Are you asking me for an annulment?" [ her, surprised ] "Yes, the church ... " Me: "I'd be happy to do it - send me the papers." Got the papers, told my side of the story (which was NOT something that reflected well on her, but facts are facts), returned them in one week, got the oh-so-official pronouncement from the Catholic Diocese of Philadelphia within the month.

The one thing that puzzled me for the briefest of time was why she bothered to seek the annulment in the first place. Both of us had remarried already.
