It happened at the Sunset Park station in Brooklyn.

The gunman behind Tuesday's Brooklyn subway rampage has now been on the run for more than four hours -- and police have revealed only a scant description of him.
NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said at a press conference that the suspect is a roughly 5-foot-5 black man with a heavy build at around 170 pounds.

Michael Driscoll, head of the FBI’s New York office, said agents from the bureau were working with their partners in the NYPD and other agencies that are part of the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
"We are fully engaged in this investigation and it's still very much in the early stages," Driscoll said.

The suspect is five foot five, with a heavy build, 170 pounds. He's black and wearing a gray sweatshirt.

But the real culprit was The Gun. Possibly the ghost gun, as I'm sure the media will soon start speculating.

NBCNewsNY censored the shooter's race. He's currently at large and on the run, so his race would be helpful. B

But you're not allowed to know, because Black Lives Matter or something.

"Be on the lookout for a man," Moron Robbie snarks. Which is actually very close to what they said:

At least 10 Brooklyn subway riders were shot Tuesday by a man wearing a gas mask and a green construction vest

Obviously he won't be wearing either of those things on the street. So NBCNewsNY is telling you to look out for "a man."

Update: ABCNews also wants you to know that this is "a man" or even "a suspect."

That should help citizens locate him.

Murderously corrupt. If he kills anyone else during his flight, the media is responsible.

Maybe the victim ID as "black" wasn't solid, either. I've still got most of my chips on "Corrupt SJW Censorship of the News," though.

But wait, there is more. In most cases of homicide in these major cities, both the victim and the perpetrator have criminal records. In some cases, as much as 70-80 percent of cases where there is an arrest. Plus, in at least a majority of the cases, the perp has prior arrests and convictions for violent crime. There is no reason to believe that unsolved cases are that much different.
Too tired to give the cites but if you dig into prior studies of cities like Baltimore, Chiraq, or New Orleans, you find the same patterns more or less.

Interesting and important. I would say, though, that in "blow-a-gasket" type scenarios, like this one might be, the perpetrator sometimes has either no record or a minor one, for stuff like disorderly person or yelling and threatening his mother or something. Crazy-person stuff. Not that it's not bad, but it's usually dealt with by putting the guy under observation in a mental hospital for 72 hours or whatever.

Yup. It's int he oven now. The media messaging will be 100% consistent by tomorrow's evening news cycle. It's inconsistent at the beginning - like some networks mentioning that it was a black man, some not. Some speculate on the gun, some don't. 41 Shooting in a subway car, and all the wounds I've seen seem to be in the legs. I know the guy was short, but if you're in a subway most people are sitting, so you'd think there would be many more upper body injuries (the cars were also hardly packed from what i saw, so doesn't seem like many would be standing, especially at that point in a north bound train heading in to Manhattan) unless they didn't want to kill anyone.

I wouldn't be surprised if they never catch the guy, but use this to push the gun control ramp up that Adams has been going on about for the last few weeks.

The bigger problem with their narrative is that most criminals will not bother with such processes, when it is cheaper and/or easier to get one on the streets.

Much of it looks like a land that peaked after WW2, and then began to decline.

I thought the same thing, which is ironic seeing how people normally flee at top speed when the train reaches their stop.

Could just be shock, some seemed to be helping people, or maybe the guy went to a different car, so they felt leaving may not be the best option until it seemed safe.

I've stayed in cars with many crazy people, but if there's a gunshot, and I'm not directly behind the shooter and in range to stab them, then I'm out of there even if the train is moving.

But wait, there is more. In most cases of homicide in these major cities, both the victim and the perpetrator have criminal records. In some cases, as much as 70-80 percent of cases where there is an arrest. Plus, in at least a majority of the cases, the perp has prior arrests and convictions for violent crime. There is no reason to believe that unsolved cases are that much different.

Too tired to give the cites but if you dig into prior studies of cities like Baltimore, Chiraq, or New Orleans, you find the same patterns more or less.

I always told people I felt completely safe in nyc, even walking around in the dead of night. DiBlasio letting a lot of the crazies out when he got reelected did make the homeless numbers rise, but things still weren't that bad. But since the Covid jail break, it's no exaggeration to say it's back to the bad times of the 70s. Cops I work with have been telling people to get mace, knives and tasers to protect themselves, since there is little the cops can do to protect anyone.

One reason why skyscrapers became a big thing there. It was partly sheer land value, of course, but also because the bedrock made for a stable foundation. Once did a rather sordid project reviewing state supreme court cases involving death penalty cases and those eligible for death penalty.

Those are useful because they more or less have every factor pro and con over issuing a sentence of death due to Supreme Court cases. In almost every case, there was clear indications that the person convicted was capable of committing murder based on their past actions. The just snapped hypothesis ( aka irresistible impulse defense used in Anatomy of a Murder) is crap because almost all of those convicted had issued death threats, actually committed past violent acts, or done such things as violent abuse or killing of animals prior to the act of murder. Many had started as juveniles and worked their way up the violence scale until they reached the murder threshold.

Substance abuse was present in about half or more of the cases and prior alleged abuse of the offender as a child was also a factor.

I believe just recently a judge ruled tasers legal and you can have pepper spray that's like 2 ounces or something like that. The thing in NYC is that even if you use it defensively or to save someone they can still prosecute you, since it's legal to have but using it can been seen as a crime. You can also be sued by the person you use it against.

In NYC everything is to protect ther criminal and your only defense is to bleed slower.

The government has a system in place to deliver food to the residents (in addition to the option to get delivery). But it's failing miserably, with many (possibly most residents) not receiving any food from the government. And those who do actually get something aren't getting much.

It's based on the computerized background check system, which is supposed to be purged after every check, but isn't. DoJ and ATF have repeatedly been caught saving the background check info in databases in violation of the law, but they shrug it off with "oops", and just keep going.

It's fascinating, though, that so many distributions break 80/20. I was an inventory control manager for years with a computer company with yugely expensive inventory. I regularly ran a Pareto analysis and sure enough, 80% of the value resided in 20% of the parts, with very little variation.

I still want someone to explain the WHY of this to me.

4473's are used. The ATF illegally circumvented law by scanning records from closed FFLs since 2006 (and probably even curio and collector's bound volumes from those giving them up) which include the name, address, id, dates, and serial numbers of the firearms bought in the transaction. Now, estimates are that those records go stale after about ten years or so on traces of firearms but combined with other easily accessible banking and other records via administrative means, they still have the identity of the buyer and perhaps new purchases of firearms. The ATF has always been able to go physically to an FFL dealer and view 4473 information. They have often photographed it with smartphones, etc. too.

The FBI Nics system simply gives a go or no go via a criminal backgrounds check but lacks identifiers as to the firearm and data as to whether it was actually transferred. Many states exempt their concealed carry permit holders from the NICS system check and these are usually people that buy more firearms so there are gaps.

610 extended magazines for a .380? That's probably an additional 1-2 rounds since a .380 is typically a very small gun meant for concealed carry even in a pocket. I'm guessing around 10 rounds maximum for the largest capacity magazines for 380 guns.

611 One more thing. All wounded seemed to be in their legs. If the shooter shot randomly with a smoke grenade, how come he did not shoot anyone above their legs? It looks to me that it was a grenade or some explosive that was or hit the floor first. The police said the gun was 'jammed' or more people would have been hurt.
