Climate "Scientist" (ahem) and Creator of the "Hockey Stick" Hoax Takes to Twitter to Shriek About Marriott Hotels Having FoxNews Playing on the Fitness Center TV

Are you okay?!?!

Hide the decline:

climatechangechannel.jpg

michaelmann.png

He attempts to use his Twitter Klout, which is not a real thing, to pressure Marriott into #Cancelling Fox.

Lincoln Project co-founder Reed Galen -- and therefore pedophilia cover-up participant -- saw an opportunity to grift his liberal donors by jumping in on the #cancelation effort:

Stephen L. Miller
@redsteeze

"We'll wait" lol, until when? Marriott turns 18 and then you lose interest?

People who say "Twitter doesn't matter" are a little wrong, I think. Yes, twitter is a sewer. Yes, Twitter is stupid and illiterate.

But it is from Twitter that these cancellation efforts are organized. Twitter permits the left to do this, and censors/deplatforms the right from protesting or organizing their counter-cancellation efforts. If the right organized a campaign warning that we'd #Cancel Marriott if they bow to the insane left, twitter would throttle that hashtag so that no one saw it.

controlspeech.jpg

Hilarious:

Supposed Climate Warrior Michael Mann was asked -- say, if the climate is in such peril, couldn't you have zoom-called your way to this "meeting" rather than generated so much CO2 to physically travel there?

His answer: No, I had to be present to receive my award.

Screenshot (1973).png

Obviously the award -- for fighting for the climate, one assumes -- could have been given virtually.

But his ego needed to hear the applause at the physical space, so Fuck the Envivornment.

It's always the same with people -- the climate is important enough that you should live smaller, poorer lives, but never important enough that They should do so.

10 It's an adage as old as time, wherein you must stand up to the bully to stop the bullying.

Why has every corporation forgotten this?

It's in every movie where dad teaches his son how to end the harassment.

It's also foreign policy - don't pay ransoms as it only invites further kidnapping.

Mann originally sued Steyn for defamation suit over an article he wrote back in 2012. He also sued CEI and Nat Review. As best I can tell, all of the defendants except Steyn have been dropped from the case, and all of the "Expert Witnesses" have been denied. Can't find any news about it for a year now.

It's kind of like the legal case that a prosecutor has been trying to make against Ken Paxton in Texas. Year after Year it drags on and on, and yet there is NEVER a time that it actually comes to trial.

102 "What happened to the lawsuit against Michael Mann?"

Other way round. It was against National Review, Mark Steyn, and some other guy I think. Mann got mad about some silly insult, so clever 1A-Champion Rich Lowry wrote an article (paraphrased) "Go Ahead And Sue Us, Needledick!" So Mann sued them, and the case dragged (drags?) out for years, and prolly millions of donor and subscriber dollars flushed down the legal drain.

That deal was extraordinarily bad for CNN. They provided the service and the TV sets (and maintenance of the TV sets) to the airports in exchange for those sets being used *exclusively* to show CNN. It was always a money-loser. It made a degree of sense throughout the 90s as it kept CNN front-and-center in people's thoughts when they thought about the news. It was marketing, not revenue. But it hasn't made a lick of sense since the mid 90s and as those contracts expired, CNN started running away from them at full speed. It hasn't made any sense at all in a long time, if it every really paid off. If anything, it just became an additional cost because it made CNN the butt of the joke.

The thing is, Steyn DID damage his reputation. But the truth is an absolute defense in slander and libel cases, according to the law, so its irrelevant. He really is a fraud who manipulated data to push an agenda that had nothing to do with the actual science. Revealing that did, in fact, damage his reputation. Properly so.

But yeah, arguing that he has a greater rep than someone else does sort of harm his "he hurt my reputation" claims.

189 Ruled - almost literally - by idiots and frauds. Speaking of the "scientific" element and institutions of the "elites" now.

Think headline inflation print will be something like 8.4%. Which puts us right back in the post-Carter era. Except it's a very different country now. The populace, I mean. They're the problem. Perhaps this will suffice to make them unhappy. But they have nowhere to turn, little they can do to change anything.

The institutions are incompetent and collapsed. Including the "opposition" party that exists.

Which doesn't sell as well and isn't as compelling as his lying graph.

Right, I didn't claim that would be "THE Misery Index" and it was in response to Publius' comment. The "Misery Index" was kind of a dumb idea anyway, but tying it to male participation helps account for changes in unemployment math between then and now. Adding unemployment back in as the third variable might be a good idea. I dunno.

I'm trying to find an hilarious piece taking down astrology. It took their various arguments how certain planetary ephemerides should influence human behavior.

For example, they didn't even know about Pluto until last century, but added it in and it became very important, even though it was unknown before.

The conclusion of the piece was that smaller and more distance objects have greater influence on human history, so the dust particles at the edge of the observable universe should have the most influence of all.

Funny, that. You like history, you insist on telling historical stories every post. Or food stories. Art stories. Whatever - stories.

Let's talk about another story. Why did the Colonists insist on fighting over such an easily accepted point as not accepting the crown stamp on papers posted in the town square ?

It wasn't the money. Not really. It was the idea of the crown putting a mark on the papers posted. Because those marks could then be traced ... to certain presses ... then certain houses.

The little bit of tax to accept that crown mark was easily enough done. Not even close to the costs of the ink and rental time on the press and paper.

I'm pretty sure the old dead white guys would all insist on a proxy server.

Looks around the property, looking for some backhoe work AND a qualified busty redhead.

I can bend on the need for the work, and/or her quals.

The other requirements are now non-negotiable.

445 You miss the fact that these were Roundhead Yankees pissing on British Anglicans. Remember, the Roundheads won their Civil War against the Crown and then lost control back to the Crown after the fall of Cromwell. Lot of bad blood there. Sometimes things aren't what you're told they are.

All the better. I wonder - would the Roundheads rally 'round the idea of freedom to publish their papers in an infinite public square ? Probably. Would they kiss the ass of the Crown that censored, or deleted, any posts that didn't fit the ideals of King Internet ?

Probably not. And I doubt they'd say "Thank You" to the gent or gents that did something as personally riskless as tapping a delete button.

Then you win. The Founders were Roundhead Assholes. Have it your way.

Why do people then gravitate to kiss the ass of the current Roundhead Asshole ? A rhetorical question - just human nature on display. Particularly from the Roundheads. I cede your point.

Posted by: joseph w dagostino at April 11, 2022 07:25 PM (5r5VK)

464 Mann has used Twitter followers and offsite e-mails to the gang of climate zealots at Skeptical Science (sic).
He had them put up positive reviews of his book when it came out, and downvote all the negative reviews. Basically his followers controlled the good reviews, and with the downvoting, they controlled the bad reviews as well.
So the top one star would say something like Mann just doesn't give enough examples of his genius.

After that, when a negative review was posted that he didn't like, he would tweet about it and get it downvoted as well.
