The Morning Report - 4/8/22

Good morning, kids. The weekend is here and so this Kentanji Brown 25 dame now sits (or will sit when Breyer leaves in July) on the highest court in the land, not necessarily because of the century-long war to subvert and ultimately overthrow America as founded by the Democrats, but because those who we voted into office supposedly to oppose them have not only not opposed them but have turned their figurative guns on us. When John McCain, whose funeral still continues, called those of us who called him out on his multiple backstabs "hobbits" and then turned his thumb down when it came to overturning Obamacare as his final flipping of the bird to America before climbing into the casket, that was proof positive.

In the near term, despite being a virtual doppelgänger for Angela Davis and Joanne Chesimard in mindset, as well as melanin content and genitalia - although I'm not a biologist nor have any desire to examine the evidence for a wild guess - the so-called "balance" on the court remains as it was. In any case, what real difference is there between Downtown Brown and Stephen Breyer? Would either of them, or the Wiseass Latina, Kagan and any other Justice ever put on that court by a Democrat president ever vote against anything that did not advance the Leftist cause over the Constitution? Of course not; their goal was, is and always will be the complete dismantling of that document and the society it represents.

As I have bemoaned on these pages over the past few weeks, given the state of the nation, what does the Supreme Court really matter anymore? Let's look at things from the other side of the balance beam. Cheap Justice Roberts is beholden to the State. Obamacare by virtue of the fact that it compelled the individual to purchase insurance against his will as well as the word games about it being a fee as opposed to a tax should have been a 9-0 smackdown. Or given the nature of the court, 5-4. But the killer diller was Roberts himself taking a red pen and re-writing the law himself as a one-man Legislative branch to make it kosher. And then there are the three Trump justices that Mitch McChinese-secret gave us. What did they do when the chips were down? That leaves Alito and Thomas, the sole examples of decency and ethics left. And even then, both of them have such fealty to the Constitution that unlike their colleagues, they would rule against something that they might hold a strong personal belief for if it did violate the spirit and the letter of the Constitution.

This illustrates the quandary we face not just in court but in every aspect of our society. How are we ever going to win back a country by playing by rules that the other side completely ignores? Clarence Thomas, who just had a health scare, and Samuel Alito are not spring chickens. If either of them either walks out or G-d forbid is carried out, SCOTUS, if it isn't gone already will be with one more pick. And the next nominee is going to make this nightmare look like Antonin Scalia by comparison. But, with that analysis, I seem to be contradicting my observation about what all of this means.

For all intents and purposes, the GOPe is dead to us and for sure vice versa. So is the bureaucracy, the Congress, the federal law enforcement agencies, the military leadership, the media and most alarmingly, a growing segment of the supposed private sector and corporate America. Worst of all, academia from preschool all the way up through post graduate.

And yet, we're still here. We're not going anywhere. In a perverse way, the imposed lockdowns exposed what the schools have been doing to our children's minds via what parents saw on Zoom sessions. Whatever battles we face, it all boils down to who gets to control the future. The only way to do that is to control the children. That was, is and always will be at the heart of the existential crisis we are facing. The poisoning of at least three generations of young American minds is what got us here. Ultimately, that will be the way out which is why you are seeing the reactions of teachers and Democrats to homeschooling, charter schools or any other avenue of information that goes contra to their aims and worldview.

The whole transexual and homosexual grooming nightmare that has been exposed, not just in the schools but at places that used to be paragons of American culture and society like Disney, is part and parcel of this, as is the drive for D-I-E, diversity inclusion equity, that demands white, Judeo-Christian mostly males prostrate themselves before the Left and beg for perpetual mercy. Newsflash: it will never be shown. As an aside, our own Alex the Chick has an excellent essay, albeit on Twitter, about the children that melds nicely with this rant. So there it is, my friends. All bets are off and the world is going to be upside down for the foreseeable future. As I said when Joey Soft-Serve was installed only 14 months ago that we are going to be forced to do things that are going to challenge us in ways we thought unthinkable. But we are fighting back. Eyes have been opened. They hold the high ground, and although it seems from our perspective in the here and now, as high as Everest, they're not infallible. And the future is as always, unpredictable.

I've been the volunteer making the "avoids all big allergies" soups, so after "creamy" tomato and my veg chili (the last 2 weeks), tonight is a carrot soup with maple and ginger.

Insofar as the Court matters at all anymore - a question you rightly ask a bit later - there is a difference, albeit a small one, between Breyer and Jackson. Breyer reliably advanced the left-wing agenda, as will Jackson and so from the standpoint of final outcome, there is no distinction worth mentioning and this was a neutral move.

But the opinions and stated basis for those rulings will change markedly. Breyer, although a left-wing activist, was one of the old school. He would at least make tortured Constitutional arguments and undergo the requisite gymnastics in his opinions. Jackson will not. She will simply arbitrarily rule according to the tenets of Critical Theory and will sum it up with "and it is Constitutional because it is Right, and it is Right because I say so." The underlying basis of the bad opinion will be nearly naked and unmasked. No more lip service.

I've mentioned this before, but take some time to read the injury stories at realnotrare.com. I've read through nearly all of them, and there are a lot. I'm appalled and horrified at how badly these people have been injured. How their lives are shells of what they once were. How disgusting the reaction is from most of the medical drs they've seen. How ruinous these "vaccines" have been to some people. And their injuries all mirror each other. Very common, debilitating symptoms. Many of these people are left hopeless and even suicidal from the pain they're in. Many have written to their congressmen and senators with no response whatsoever. I won't mince words.
People need to hang for what they've done pushing this.

I'm appalled and horrified at how badly these people have been injured. How their lives are shells of what they once were. How disgusting the reaction is from most of the medical drs they've seen. How ruinous these "vaccines" have been to some people. And their injuries all mirror each other. Very common, debilitating symptoms. Many of these people are left hopeless and even suicidal from the pain they're in. Many have written to their congressmen and senators with no response whatsoever. I won't mince words.

I am fortunate that I have saved a large proportion of my wages for a long time, and lived well below my means and therefore am not beholden to my employer paycheck to paycheck. I have already made in clear but nonthreatening ways that I won't participate, and if they don't like it, they are free to fire me.

There is another thing he fails to consider, besides the "I'm trans now" dodge (which is a lousy dodge because it is joining the forces of evil), and that is open rebellion and collapse. Gen Z is probably scary for the establishment, as it should be. The Millennials are pretty uniformly leftist, but the Zoomers are more bifurcated. Their Maoists are even more radical and extreme than the Millennials, but they are not the overwhelming majority. There is a significant anticommunist movement within the Zoomers, too.

If you're looking for where a civil war starts, in my opinion you should look there. But this will end the establishment entirely. If the radical communists win, it just finishes what is now underway. If the anticommunists win, the country is still not saved and is still replaced - likely with a variety of monarchy or autocracy.

I went out to that office for a couple of months to train my replacements. I knew the score, and so did the company. I got a big bonus for doing so. I suspect the new version won't include the bonus. It will instead be, "play ball and you get your severance. Don't, and you're fired for cause right now and get nothing."

It's an amazing thing to see; one of the most important events was the loss of Albert Sidney Johnston, which arguably hurt the Confederacy even more than the loss of Stonewall Jackson a couple years later. At the beginning of that war, Johnston was regarded as the most experienced and competent military commander in the entire war - Robert E. Lee only came to prominence after Johnston was dead.

If Johnston had not died due to ignoring a bullet wound to his leg, which had cut an artery, it's likely that he would have succeeded in routing Grant on day 2 of Shiloh; and of then leading the Confederacy to a fairly quick victory overall.

If raising prices costs them market share, they may indeed NOT pass the higher tax on to the consumer. They will just have 20% profit margins instead of 25%. So the devil is always in details, but the corporation does pay the tax ... with Trump's "China taxes" I think they found end prices did not rise (because China subsidizes, as do most countries).

I understand the point, but it is not strictly true. (and generally higher taxes are to support more theft by BigGov, sure)

Chickamauga, and also nearby Missionary Ridge, are great battlefields to visit. They're places where the geography of the land explains the course of the battles. The key point of the Chickamauga battlefield was where Gen'l Thomas rallied the fleeing Federal Troops on Day 2 and prevented a complete rout, inflicting heavy casualties on the pursuing Confederates. When you get to that spot, you see he chose a natural rock fortress with well defined killing zones leading to the positions for his stand.

Before that, Longstreet's forces had been running roughshod over the Federal Army. They were pursuing so hard that they kept pushing units into Thomas' strong position, and the Confederate army took 5,000 casualties in 3 hours before they gave up on it.

It is the campus crossroads, and truly brave to host that table there, so I salute those kids.

As to Lew Wallace; I always suspected that he personally sympathized with the character of Pontius Pilate while he was stuck as Territorial Governor in New Mexico; a prominent official sent out to run a hot and dusty province far far away from the seat of power, primarily because the Big Guy in charge (In Wallace's case, Grant) hated him personally and stuck him there so he would never have to see him again.
