I was never that huge a fan of the Halo 'story'. In all honesty, a lot of the FPS 'stories' were just filler. Hell, Half-Life only distinguished itself from say Quake or Unreal because it had 'something' approximating a story.
Still, they should have known better, and maybe they did. The point may be just to burn it all to the ground so all you have is Batwoman and Discovery to watch.

I read an account from someone locked down. The only way to get food, water, etc. is via one or two state sponsored apps. People would try to place orders when the stores opened only to be unable to get anything as it appeared to all be gone. So some of the places in Shanghai are resorting to doing "building buys" of bulk foodstuffs. That's been squashed by the government too.

1. That would not be a Law but just an authorization which could be challenged.
2. It would be unconstitutional since the end result would be someone other than Congress making laws. That's why so many of our so called laws, as made by the FDA, EPA, etc., are really unconstitutional in my opinion. I have no vote on the lawmaker so that is not constitutional.

Outside of Shanghai, China is keeping the news of what they are doing there very low key in the rest of the country. For the rest, it's just repeated testing every 48 hours to go to work with the same cellphone tracking. We know more about Shanghai than the rest of regular Chinese do...or will say.

That is the front end to the algorithms but essentially even now common names give problems as does database drifts and corruption. Remember the mistake on Cohens taking trips to Czech Republic mistake for example.
While computers have their virtues, their algorithms are written by humans as is the data collected which are fallible.
The issue is that you can focus with abnormal levels of scrutiny on that one individual with binoculars but you cannot see the baseball about to hit you in the head nor the forest because you are focusing on one tree. The Stasi had vast amounts of data but simply not enough people to process it while the IC has even vaster amounts of data but no common sense in how to process it which means their algorithms have a political bias to them to prevent incorrect answers.
It was somewhat amusing a few years ago that one AI project had to be shut down because it kept giving politically explosively incorrect responses.

It's killed relatively few in Australia which is predominately white men of European dissent and riot down the pike from China. And we have zero idea how many Chinese it killed in the first wave unless you believe the CCP.
There is no reason to believe this is a response to the omicron variant which is not killing that many anywhere and once again there is zero scientific evidence that lockdowns against a coronavirus have ever worked anywhere, fat old white guys included.

I think that is a cold comfort we like to tell ourselves. We are so much smarter, how do we keep losing?
There are some very smart people on the left and they know exactly what they are doing because they are evil. Underestimating them is not the way to beat them. They completely outsmarted us in the 2020 election because we didn't consider they would cheat and illegally change election laws before the election and we took our eye off the ball until after the election. I include myself in that mistake.
