Ketanji Brown Jackson Confirmed to Supreme Court By the Votes of Left-Liberal "Republicans" Collins, Murkowski, and Mitt "Severely Conservative" Romney

Groomers.

Despite Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's troubling record of leniency for child sex offenders and her inability to define what a woman is, the Senate voted to confirm her to the Supreme Court on Thursday.

Jackson's narrow confirmation of 53-47 was supported by Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Mitt Romney of Utah, who were not swayed by her troubling record or her support of critical race theory.

The three staunch left-liberals obviously have a Suicide Pact, and I don't mean a literal one, or even a political one. (Though we may have hopes on the latter.)

I mean a Suicide Pact that executives or actors might agree to -- if either of us gets fired, the other one quits.

It's a way of creating (it is hoped) leverage. A kind of micro-union.

In this case, they've plainly agreed to always vote together, so that none of them are completely isolated on their pro-abortion and pro-CP votes, or their unflagging support of the Democrat Party.

Well, it seems like Murkowski isn't going to be able to sneak a win in this time (finger's crossed), and I doubt that Romney runs again at all. He'll be the next Jeff Flake.

That will leave Collins alone to take all the flack while there are more Republicans in the Senate overall after 2022. It's gonna be harder to Mitch to let shit through the Senate and blame it on his terrible three sisters.

12 I think the one that pisses me off most is Collins. To vote against a Republican nominee but for a left-wing Democrat nominee.

In some ways though, I'd almost prefer the mask slip a little farther off of Romney and Murkowski. This isn't just about Trump, these are simply liberal politicians that lie about their positions to get power.

13 Republican litigants before ther court need to start playing the game. In her confirmation hearing Jackson stated that she's unqualified to comment on, and therefore judge, anything she doesn't have extensive schooling in. Therefore she should be required to recuse herself in any case that deals with a subject she doesn't have at least a master's degree in.

These were the standards she set for herself, and she should be held to them for all cases that come before the court.

She couldn't define a woman so as to appear non-controversial. She refused to acknowledge the existence of natural rights. She is an obvious anti-constitutionalist.

Yet she gets confirmed because black and because (undefined) woman. That's the darkly humorous part for me. She is flatly *opposed* to the core precepts of our Constitution and refuses to answer basic questions because of identity politics and she was confirmed to the highest Constitutional court because of external sex and race characteristics. Posted by: kraken

I would like to "REFORM" the Republican Party, but I don't honestly think it is possible.
These three were "allowed" to vote for KBJ as a Justice, but if not them, then others.
The Republican Party, largely like the Democrat Party, is controlled by a relative handful of people with BIG money. We, the kulaks and plebes, don't know exactly who these people are (wink), but that's the game. A relative handful (maybe not more than a hundred) very rich people control both parties, and they do what these people want (to a great extent).
De Santis may be allowed to, in a limited way, do what he can in Florida, but that may be the limit.
As a President, there is too much money at stake to allow it to fall into the hands of someone like, say, Donald Trump. And looking at Donald, they moved much of the permanent government (ie, the Deep State) against him to get rid of him.
So, reform away.

I've been saying something similar for a while. If the GOPe really wanted to be rid of Trump, they'd take up at least part of his agenda and claim it as their own. Hell, they'd take up ANY agenda.

Instead, they're going into the midterms with nothing on purpose. They think it'll just mean that they'll have a mandate to do whatever they want with the implicit approval of the voters, but all it will actually do, since nothing of particular importance will pass in the next Congress, is create a political vacuum. A vacuum that anyone with a big enough megaphone and following will be able to fill. Someone like Donald Trump.

The media is going to make much of the challengers to Trump in the GOP primary, but it'll be obvious by New Hampshire that no one is going to come close to him. By South Carolina, it'll be over. The Democratic Primary will go on much longer.

Uh no. There are some things that any educated, moral person should be able to say without hesitation and with conviction. And this was one of them. If they went down a rabbit hole then she could have talked (with some merit) about not pre judging cases. But not being willing to go "all in" to just accept the core principle of the Republic? A vacuum that anyone with a big enough megaphone and following will be able to fill. Someone like Donald Trump."

I don't think that's a bad plan. Given how badly the GOP-e screws up whenever they try to set an agenda, they probably are right to think that their electoral prospects are at a peak so long as they keep their mouths shut about everything.

I would say Trump owns it now. A guy like DeSantis isn't BAD, in any sense of the word, he just has the misfortune to be compared to a peerless leader. What's he even going to say? Drain the swamp? Moar judges? We've seen why that didn't work, and it's not because of insufficient work ethic.

But it's not the worst thing that could happen. A decent man wouldn't have a problem with a truly great leader outshining him, and would concentrate on the many lesser positions he could shine in. Who cares what an indecent man thinks?

Eh. It's the power of stereotypes. What the Rats want, not necessarily what's true. The people who keep putting these degenerates back in power need to be politely relieved of the opportunity to persist, but that doesn't mean we should crack down on normal minorities.

One true insight into the Trump phenomenon is that the working class of all races are more enthusiastic about him every day. White nationalists want to throw that away, but of course they would. Meanwhile, the cabal behind the Democrats are coming to the realization that not even being a "war President" can save Biden or anyone in his orbit.

Without a quorum in the committee, there's no vote in the committee. To get the nomination to the floor in that instance, it takes 60 votes. It's an obscure rule that's become important because all of the committees are evenly split this Congress, part of the agreement between Mitch and Schumer that gave Schumer the majority leadership. It's only really possible now because in every other Congress the majority has a majority on committees. They used it to defeat at least one executive nominee.

They did not use it to defeat KBJ.

In fairness, KBJ probably wasn't worth pulling this trigger on.

Schumer made a colossal tactical error by filibustering Gorsuch -- his obstructionism gave McConnell the ammo he needed to get his caucus to nuke the filibuster.

And it was done over a justice pick that didn't change the ideological balance of the Court.

If Schumer had the filibuster when Kavanaugh was up, Kav wouldn't have been seated.

KBJ is replacing Breyer. Any other justice that Biden nominates will be just as bad.

To look on the bright side, Breyer is the last of the actually intelligently commies on the court who was capable of writing a well-reasoned, cogent opinion. KBJ, Kagan, Sotomayor are all imbeciles incapable of stringing coherent sentences together. Sure, Roberts can join then and write majority opinions for them to concur with, but for the next few decades the quality opinions will be written by Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and ACB.

Yes, those last 3 are somewhat disappointing, but they aren't outright commie retards without the ability to reason or write. Yes, also, the Justices' clerks do a lot of the research and writing of opinions, bit the justices still have the final word.

So, as bad as this is, it isn't as bad as it could be. RBG was a very intelligent woman, albeit evil to her bones. Qt least we didn't get another one of her.

If there was one time that the Dems could have done something for "Saint RBG" with some Senate trick, they would have done it to have denied Trump.

If there was some parliamentary trick, Dems would have the majority to change it and seat her.

The reality is, Biden and the Democrats that control the Senate are responsible for this.

On a different note, we do need a new Senate Leader as McConnell only cares about McConnell. But I don't blame a Dem WH and a Dem Senate getting a Dem SC pick.

370 I would say Trump owns it now.

Doesn't mean that it's not worth fighting tooth and nail. This is a unique situation based on a makeup of Congress that won't repeat for a long time. This isn't some huge precedent setting change.

This is politics as bloodsport in an election year where you're all but guaranteed the majority next year. Mitch only plays bloodsport against Republicans that threaten his power.

Similar situation where because the Establishment couldn't have it, they were going to make damn sure nobody in the GOP got it.

What's funny is Nixon never took the bait and was loyal to Goldwater throughout. Big reason why the base rewarded him with the nom in 1968.

Good lesson there, NeverTrump will never be rewarded by GOP voters.

The reality is, Biden and the Democrats that control the Senate are responsible for this.

On a different note, we do need a new Senate Leader as McConnell only cares about McConnell. But I don't blame a Dem WH and a Dem Senate getting a Dem SC pick.

Dems' control of the Senate is shockingly shallow. They don't even have a real majority. Hell, they had a guy out for six weeks that gave Mitch the actual majority, and he didn't treat it like it.

There are things Mitch can do and chooses not to do. That's the point. Mitch doesn't want to fight these battles. He could have stopped this. He chose not to.

The treatment is to donate blood. Seriously. And eat more potassium.

It does make your face red.

405 Collins was just returned to office and her brand is striking poses like this. It's a reasonable inference that Romney is dead meat in 2024 if he has a mind to run at all, so just does what he feels like. Murkowski's the puzzle. Is she now resigned to being booted out or is she confident she can be returned to office as an independent or with a write-in campaign?

408 Mittens was raised and is both rich and Mormon.

Ok, I can hear some of you going, " Mormon, whaaaa?"
Research Mormon theology, or ask your own pastor. Mormon males "sealed" to the church will get their own universe to rule after death. (Which is why an Episcopal priest of my acquaintance would get almost apoplectic when someone would include Mormon in "Protestant" or even "Christian".)

I'm a "no skin off my nose" kind of person in term of religious belief, but that particular belief tends to produce a rather arrogant person. Add in the silver spoon, and you have Mittens. It's not dislike of the voters as much as disdain for -to quote Leona Helmsley- "the little people".
