One good point I saw made on Twitter: I don't know what Musk will be allowed to do as a board member. But... will he be allowed to see "The Algorithm" that all the Tech Monopolists have marched into Congress and testified was politically neutral and therefore any shadow-banning or throttling of speech was just dictated by some machine coding without human intervention? Because if he is allowed to see that: Hooboy. And I can't wait until he's invited to testify about it in front of a Republican-controlled Congress. An awful lot of criminal lies have been told under oath* about this Algorithm. I think that tech CEOs will be more circumspect about what they tell Congress, knowing that Musk can blow the whistle on them. I keep about 50 old friends, mostly just put up conservative stuff, or comment on their chickens, whatever. Have never seen nothing. Always have a bunch of stuff on my feed, even if just ads, and a few comments from friends, even if old comments.
... I'm just wondering if I went over "The algorithm" limit on posting conservative facts, deemed "misinformation" by The Borg. But yeah ... shadow banning and adding "misinfo" tags, and alternate lib notes on facts they don't like is a constant.

This is an overgeneralization, but it often depends on their caste. I know a number of small business owners from India. If they volunteered the info, they all voted for Trump, but I could generally tell their political leanings without them directly saying it. All the reports of things being "close" seem to be accurate, with Iran interpreting things as finished, and just waiting for the US to settle any internal issues on accepting the final pact.
The big question remains the removal of Iran's Revolutionary Guards from the US terror blacklist, something that is politically difficult for the US. Iran is also keen to get a US assurance that the next president won't unilaterally withdraw from the deal, but that may not be achievable.

musk could have taken his $2 billion and launched a competitor to face off against twitter, but he did not for whatever reason(s). He already has his own satellite network so they could not shut him out even if they tried. In South Africa for a while I taught at a mainly Indian Univ. and we had a prof, I don't remember the department but probably Arts, who was a Brahmin. I am. Just before Musk announced his investment in Twitter stock it was trading at around $38. It was trading at $52 this morning. Just the thought of freedom of speech on Twitter was enough to move the stock that much.
Trump was by far the biggest draw on twitter. He's tweets moved the news. It was his one way of getting his message out without censorship from the media and he was very effective at using it. And think of the psychological boost it would give conservatives. We might have an entire day without complaining.
Besides, if they let Trump back then it becomes much harder to censor other conservatives who are saying the same thing. There are still quite a few conservatives on twitter, they are the ones doing really reporting on the China virus and Spygate. They've just been quieter lately because their audience has diminished.

From what little I understand about AI that is basically correct. No one really knows or understands how the machine learned what it has learned or how it came up with the answer that it did. For these algorithms you are beyond programming a machine to do a specific task with a fixed set of rules where you do have the ability to know how it got the result it did. We're now at the point where the machines are programmed to learn and interpret. Our only hope is to make sure the power plugs are always in our control.

Since that time (since Parag took over) 4 more accounts have gotten suspended based on violations of Twitter's "ban evasion" rule. It always happens right when I get to around 1000 followers.

Honestly, it could be an algorithm based on past deletions and bannings with some social credit score thrown in for good measure.
A super simple method would be to have a collection of human banned tweets, run some statistical analysis on word pairs, then find "significant" pairings for tweets that banned tweets have but not allowed tweets. It could be "love Trump" would give you a high score and "with her" could give you a low score. Throw in some fudge factors like checkmarked people never get flagged by the AI and people with consistently high scores get throttled and randomly lose followers who also score high regularly.
It's an AI that is clearly trained on human biases, but you can claim you don't really know how it's going to score any given tweet because it's all bayesian statistical analysis and it depends on what you write.

Conservatives that think getting close with Musk is a good thing are going to regret it in the end.
That doesn't mean that none of his individual actions might be seen in a good light from a conservation perspective. His position on COVID shutdowns of his USA plants were commendable, though note how he hasn't responded the same way with his Chinese masters in Shanghai.

The problem is everything else, from 1,000,000 self-driving robotaxis by 2020, to FSD software that will never be "feature-complete" level 5 autonomous yet fleecing customers for non-working features that have actually killed people, to a non-existent Tesla-semi and cybertruck, to a fake black and white android that will never come to fruition......the guy is a straight up charlatan. And I fear when this shit does come to light, it will make many look very bad in the (real) conservative sphere.

You tell it what to optimize for, sort of, by scoring the output. What it's actually doing to reach that output can vary a great deal from what is expected, and when dealing with different problems/questions it can consequently get comically incorrect answers.

I don't think much of Elon Musk one way or the other.
Just another rich guy with expensive toys.
But I'm kinda smiling right now at the fact that he does seem to get under the left's bonnet, and that really makes me smile.
Still don't care what happens to Twitter, in fact, would prefer it to go away.
But if the Lord is using Musk to do just that, or merely just annoy TPTB, then I'm all on board.
