Good morning, kids. Tuesday and while it won't necessarily surprise you that three GOP Senators will vote to confirm arguably one of the worst individuals you can imagine to sit on the Supreme Court, it is nonetheless enraging in the extreme. And you can bet your bottom Bidenflationary dollar that the angrier you get, the louder they are laughing.

Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins, the only Republican to previously announce support for Jackson’s nomination, voted with Democrats in favor of the discharge motion.
Republican Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Mitt Romney of Utah also voted to advance Jackson’s nomination. Both will support Jackson’s nomination in a final vote.
“My support rests on Judge Jackson’s qualifications, which no one questions; her demonstrated judicial independence; her demeanor and temperament; and the important perspective she would bring to the court as a replacement for Justice Breyer,” Murkowski said in a statement.
“While I do not expect to agree with every decision she may make on the Court, I believe that she more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity,” Romney said.

Yesterday, we had the transparently clownish musings of McYertle's venal, backbench toady Roy Blunt, who declared how historic it will be to have an incompetent anti-American racialist sit on the Supreme Court, yet will still vote "no" because, reasons. Mostly, if Missouri could ditch an embedded face-hugging Leftist tick like Claire McAsskill, it could if properly motivated eject a worthless RINO like him as well.

UPDATE: I forgot that Blunt is retiring. Kind of surprising he didn't join the other three in voting to confirm.

At least the fey fraudster Lindsey Graham's pre-digested script where he feigns outrage at the nominee will match his pre-arranged vote against her, and keep too many South Carolinians bamboozled yet again. And yet he did vote to put her on the D.C. Circuit, knowing full well who and what she is.

So today, the Alaskan Snowblower, Lisa Murkowski, who got her Senate seat the old fashioned way - nepotism and hinky election shenanigans, joins Susan Collins, the Stain from Maine along with Pee-Air Defecto to stick it to the American people. And more and more, the American people are a people without a nation. These bastards. These filthy, criminal bastards are in my estimation worse than the Leftists. Going back nearly 60 years when Nelson Rockefeller, Bill Scranton and George Romney, the father who spawned Mitt, conspired to sabotage Barry Goldwater, we have their descendants doing everything they can to preserve, protect and defend the dismantling/destruction of America as founded. Their political and in the case of Romney, familial descendants did the same thing to Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. I may be wrong, but I don't think they quite realize the level to which they've been exposed. Meh, maybe they do and just don't give a shit. But, like the Democrats who wrap themselves in the moldering skin-suit of Lady Liberty as they unleash a scorched earth policy on everything we hold dear, this GOP uttering platitudes about one of the most horrendous people ever to wear a judge's robe, let alone advance to the Supreme Court is beyond the freaking pale.

The last person who should be allowed to utter the words "excellence" and "integrity" is Mitt Romney. Those words and what they represent being allowed to be debased by a serpent's tongue within an open sewer that makes Love Canal smell like the Fountain of Youth is a crime against humanity.

And now, with literally the last marginally effective barrier against a tsunami of illiterate third world peasants from drowning whatever is left of our culture and society set to sundown - pun definitely intended - later next month, do you really think the GOPe is going to a damn thing to try and stop it? Considering what the GOP, at the behest of the Chamber of Commerce, has already done to the American worker by outsourcing our jobs and heavy industry overseas lo these past 40 or more years, you can expect more highfalutin words like "compassion" to be gang-anal-raped by the likes of Dubya and his cohorts.

A bad habit on the establishment Right, here and in other Western countries, is to treat those who have made disastrous electoral decisions as victims. If the choices made by these “victims” turn out badly, as they have in the cases of numerous municipal governments and blue states and with the election of Joe Biden, conservatives carefully avoid accusing the voters. Apparently high crime rates, unnecessary lockdowns, goofy LGBTQ+, antiwhite measures, and galloping inflation should not be pinned on those who cast electoral ballots.
If eligible voters in heavily black urban areas endorse corrupt politicians who thrive by playing the race card and ignore rising crime rates, the fault, we are led to believe, is entirely with those who have been elected. The stigma belongs to politicians who have betrayed the “people,” although a majority of the “people” dutifully voted for them. Are we to think that those who have voted more than once for Maxine Waters, Kweisi Mfume, and Bill de Blasio or who ran in droves to rescue Gavin Newsom in the California recall election last year are simply the hapless victims of evil politicians? . . .
. . . Are we to pretend that those who vote for race-baiters and unhinged antifascists are not really voting? They are simply the victims of malign forces that bring to power leftist demagogues and crazed social engineers despite the “people”? Although it may be convenient to nurture that fantasy, real majorities often elect utterly loathsome governments, and few of these electoral victories bear comparison to the manipulated outcomes that take place in Third World countries.
I’m also not willing to give these voters the benefit of the doubt because they have been under the influence of lying media. Although the leftist media lie through their teeth, one might expect that adults at some point would notice. But even if they don’t, I see no reason to treat voters as the helpless victims of their own choices. Truth is, they are getting the leadership they deserve. And they are suffering the consequences they brought on themselves.

I agree wholeheartedly with Paul Gottfried at American Greatness. And while the Democrat base continues to vote for people and policies that have made their lives even more miserable election after election after election, the author neglects to mention the plight of all of us vis a vis the GOPe. The difference is, while some will vote for the GOP because they may like the candidate, many have in the past voted for the GOP knowing that the Democrat was far worse, i.e., the lesser of two evils. But in supporting Marxist SCOTUS justices and open borders, the evils are starting to equal each other.

If some of us, like me in 2016 for sure voted against the known horror a Hillary dictatorship would bring, most of us eagerly voted for Trump in 2020 because we saw what at least three years of a Trump presidency brought. It was the first time in my life I didn't hold my nose when I pulled the lever. Whatever happens this November and in 2024, the GOP is dead. It surely expired during Trump's presidency when it did all it could to sabotage the MAGA agenda and for sure in its actions in the run-up to 2020 and then in the aftermath of the coup and on 1/6/21.

Of course, with a bit under three years left of the current nightmare, an election that far off may be a moot point given the state of things here and throughout the world.

I read it and agree. Good article. It makes sense that so much of the radiation, still at enormously high levels, lies beneath the surface dirt. I had no idea Putin's troops were digging 6ft ditches surrounding the south and west portions at the plant. Yeah, not good.

And I'll plug a favorite book of mine, which I've mentioned here before, but if the subject of the Chernobyl disaster interests you, you must take time to read "Midnight in Chernobyl." It's quite simply one of the best, most frightening books I've ever read. A page-turner in the truest sense.

we had an intense storm here at about 2 am, and as the light comes up, I see tree limbs all over my yard. Nothing too big for me to handle, fortunately. Only loss - I had a pot of aloe vera that needed sun, so I had set it out in the yard to get some. One of the limbs dead centered it, smashed it to bits. I think I can revive the aloe, though.

A nullification crisis would be my preferred tactic within the government (a general strike is my preferred tactic outside the government). It ends one of three ways:
1. The feds blink, and back down.
2. The states blink, and back down.
3. Civil war

It's the only option I can think of that has any chance of not opening door number three. It is a slim chance - very slim - but it's one of the only things that *might* not go there.

142 Yesterday was the final day of broadcast of OANN on Direct TV. Blank screen this am directing me to channel 200 which is a news mix of channels. CNN is the first channel you can land on. Streaming here is difficult as we live in a rural area that has no cable and DSL is incredibly slow. I can pick up OANN on cell phone streaming for $5 a month. Looking at the options to get rid of Direct TV.

While I understand the desire to do this, anyone proposing this should be honest with themselves: this is secession, plain and simple. And while I'm not necessarily against that, be prepared for the consequences - the Feds would most likely instantly shut off SS payments to every retired person in that State, not to mention cutting off all payments to that State Government. There would not be physical war, because there would not need to be. The economic war on that state would be devastating.

And you know what? Google wants very, very much for your little kids to be exposed to what they want them to see on youtube. They don't make it easy for parents to have control over language or content, and the language settings are "don't use bad words in the first 30 seconds, and also damn, hell, and some other "old" bad words are okay"

Any time someone with any money at all challenges those, they win and (at least for a time) said cities clean up their act. Usually just long enough for them to think up some other way to circumvent the clear intent of any laws - but still, they at least act like they're playing the game.

On the other hand, if Texas were simply to say: "Obergefell is obviously an unconstitutional decision and action by the Supreme Court and as of this day any marriage licenses handed to same-sex couples since that time are hereby vacated," that would be a different thing all together. Or Roe v Wade, or any number of other bad decisions that have been handed down by the Supremes in the last 40 years or so.

As someone said above- once you actually go so far as Nullification, what you're saying is that SCOTUS has no authority in your State - and that is secession in all but name. Better have all your ducks lines up before you do that.

It was interesting, showing a lot of celebrities on movie sets and out having fun, but what I noted with deep sadness was his footage of Walt Disney and two young girls. Here he was in a suit and tie, showing them around Disneyland and the magic of it all...and juxtaposing that in my mind with the degenerate trash it's turned into just made me sick and truly sad. National Divorce is by far the best option. All sorts of agreements can be worked out (if it's relatively amicable) about border crossing requirements, ability to visit each other's national parks or whatever, and even mutual defense (though, let's be honest, it would be Free Market Jesus Land that was doing all the defending - sort of like the US in NATO or the UN). But that requires some level of empathy between the parties, and I just don't think that exists anymore.

If he can end the censorship I think there is still a big market for social media. Look at how many people are trying to sign up for Truth Social. And if Trump is allowed back on Twitter he will singlehandedly increase traffic and eyeballs astronomically.

The CONELRAD system with designated civil defense channels ended in 1963 when regional and national coordination of all available channels became possible. And, yes, it's all lies and misdirection, but it's lies and misdirection that people will accept. And that's not what is being called for here.

One point the show was hammering home was how the rich have the resources to simply fix everything but they don't do it. This happens while the characters are in California in 2024.

I find it very curious that the left is dedicated to hating their own rich, living in some kind of fantasy world where if Pierre Omidyar just opened up his wallet all of the mental illness and poverty of the world would simply just vanish. And yet, the show is made by the .1% of the world at the same time, Patrick Stewart probably being worth a bare minimum of ten million dollars himself. And it's all in search of "the conversation".

Oh, and Guinan is now a sassy young black woman who hates humanity and Earth because things have never been worse in her hundreds of years of living on Earth, or something.

I don't think it'll be anyone currently in Washington. It'll be one of their few governors. Whitmer or Newsom are the obvious candidates, but Demofascists also like kink, so maybe Jared Polis. Digging deeper, because they have so few people on the bench, you could look at Steve Sisolak (Nevada) or Laura Kelly (Kansas) if they decide to go more mainstream. But I doubt it, since those people aren't favored by the coastal cognescenti.

I'm watching for NYT/WaPo/CNN/New Yorker/Atlantic profiles to start up pretty soon and that'll give a hint as to the favored few.

He's made no secret about his intentions. The boards single biggest responsibility is to increase the value of the company for investors.

I think Vanguard and Morgan Stanley will be inclined to work with Musk rather than get into a very public fight that will hurt the value of the company.
