The Saturday Night Joke(s)

Why do Tennessee fans wear orange?
So they can dress that way for the game on Saturday, go hunting on Sunday, and pick up trash on Monday.

What does the average Alabama player get on his SATs?
Drool.

How many Va Tech freshmen football players does it take to change a light bulb?
None. That's a sophomore course.

How did the Auburn football player die from drinking milk?
The cow fell on him.

Two Va Tech football players were walking in the woods.
One of them said, " Look, a dead bird."
The other looked up in the sky and said, "Where?"

What do you say to a Florida State University football player dressed in a three-piece suit?
"Will the defendant please rise."

How can you tell if a Clemson football player has a girlfriend?
There's tobacco juice on both sides of the pickup truck.

What do you get when you put 32 West Virginia cheerleaders in one room?
A full set of teeth.

University of Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh is only going to dress half of his players for the game this week. The other half will have to dress themselves.

How is the Kansas football team like an opossum?
They play dead at home and get killed on the road.

How do you get a former University of Miami football player off your porch?
Pay him for the pizza.

Some people take their Lego hobby seriously. Very seriously.

Former LEGO designer and YouTuber Tiago Catarino takes LEGO building seriously. So when he got comments from people calling his builds “illegal,” he took it personally and sets the record straight.

Illegal builds can be hard to identify, even for the experts who work on model stability, element design, and quality checks on the sets in Denmark. If you notice gaps between bricks or a connection that won’t stay together, those are obviously illegal. Others are harder to catch, like if the LEGO logo on a stud is rubbing against the brick stacked on top and many involve the Technic bricks, which are characterized by circular holes on their vertical face.

We missed them. But not that much.

Police visited the home in a gated community after extended family members said they hadn't heard from their relatives in more than a yearCredit:

“Extended family members of the residents of the home reported to Canadian authorities they had been unable to reach the residents for over one year and were concerned,” Irvine Police Department detectives said in a news release.

After the Canadian officials were contacted, they reached out to Irvine PD.

My guess is he won't have a roommate anytime soon. What the hell was his B.A.C?

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas police arrested Victor Symone Shavers, 43, for allegedly beating his roommate with a stick after they argued about what a mosquito looks like.

The two had lived together for two months in the 1500 block of Cape Cod Drive in Oak Cliff.

According to an arrest warrant, officers found Shavers' roommate standing outside with blood all over his face in the early morning hours of April 4. He told them Shavers had assaulted him.

Police found Shavers inside the home, sitting on his bed with blood on his head and hand, according to the affidavit.

The BFL (Bad Football League). Go right ahead.

It’s been six years since Colin Kaepernick departed the NFL to pursue a new role as a civil rights activist, and Terrell Owens is urging Kaepernick to join forces with him in the Fan Controlled Football league.

TMZ Sports reports Owens said it could help the quarterback get to his goal of getting back to the league.

The 48-year-old wide receiver announced he plans to join the Fan Controlled Football league, where he is expected to be paired with quarterback Johnny Manziel on the Zappers for the season’s April 16 start.

I wonder if Ryan Leaf will be playing?

That poor pussy cat. Genius Award Winner.

Cat Used As Weapon In Domestic Battery
Aoman, 53, arrested following confrontation with girlfriend

APRIL 8--In a total pussy move, a Florida Woman allegedly battered her girlfriend with the couple’s cat, according to an arrest report.

Police say that Susan Freudenthal, 53, and the 44-year-old victim were arguing Wednesday evening over “fidelity issues” in their shared Largo residence. During the squabble, Freudenthal “swore that she was not cheating and was faithful to the victim,” cops reported.

At one point, the victim said, Freudenthal grabbed one of the couple’s pets, a cat, and “held it up in the victim’s face.” Freudenthal “swore on the life of the animal that she was not cheating,” a Largo Police Department officer noted.

The cat, cops say, “was distressed and it scratched the victim.”

23 Sorry to miss the hobby thread, was busying figuring out how to scratchbuild some camera shrouds for the RB-26K that I will probably build next year from the 1/48 ICM B-26K kit. Still need to build a K38 camera to fit in the glass nose plus a P2 camera just aft of the operator's compartment in the tail.

Got in yesterday PE sets for the cockpit and operator's compartment. Will still need to scratchbuild control wheels for the pilots, add armrest to co-pilot's chair, add the gray quilted insulation to the cockpit sidewalls, and add glass to the pilot's gunsight.

Not a whole lot of work, really.... *thud*

He also has a podcast that is pretty good, which is called, unsurprisingly, "Bust".

Most of the team aged out of it, and we did not have a Bee this year. However, the Board was like a think tank, and 4 of that small number were or are (in my case) local officeholders.

They have been having a hard time stabilizing her blood pressure. She is 80. I rant about her ham, but she is a nice lady. My new rant is my father's side of the family. Those frigging chuckleheads have been planning family shit on the holidays for decades. My mother wanted to bury them. One asshole cousin gets married on labor day, another on 4th of july. Oh baby's first shit? I know lets have a fucking party on memorial day. For years they would grab a calendar, find every frigging holiday worth a shit and plan some stupid ass family event. This year??? Wedding on mothers day. Mrs B's mom is the ham fairy. I told her fuck that wedding and go be with your mom, and if they ask where you are I'm going to tell them I told her fuck this wedding.

My store carries a brand, Ferreira, that has both regular and smoked paprika. Both go for about $4.99 for a 6.5 oz. container. I always buy two containers of the smoked (because who just wants food coloring?) when I get low just so I never stay low. As the commercial for a hot sauce says, "I put that sh*! on everything!" For a half-Bohunk like myself, paprika is its own food group.

A light dusting of smoked paprika goes great on oven-roasted cauliflower pieces (for about 30-35 minutes @ 375), then topped with a quickie flour-butter roux/water/chicken broth/medium cheddar cheese sauce. Just do the whole head of cauliflower (it shrinks a lot). You'll thank me later.

Not yet, still working on family unit returns. I meant I will get some smoked paprika to try out in bbq rub, not the top shelf rum. After reading up on paprika, was struck by Wiki's history of the spice and how Hungary was a relatively latecomer to it but is now the world's major source of commonly used paprika.

Then they were closing for the night. An ancient guy across the bar asked the bartender to call him a cab. I spoke up, "We have to leave too, where do have to go?" There's a cranberry/something else flavored one, a double ABV level one, and a sugar-free one.

Not much for that whole category but on a hot summer day I can see the original Long Drink, actually much prefer it to the hard seltzers I've had, some of which I like.

Whenever I've done the corned beef in a crock pot, I use the bag seasonings, plus add more of coriander seed, mustard seed, black peppercorns and allspice berries. I use a teaspoon (in a cup of water) of beef-flavored Better Than Bouillon from a jar, along with some whole garlic and a medium onion halved. I pull the meat out and just scrape everything off while warm, including large chunks of fat. I've found the broth inedible as opposed to when I make a beef roast in the crock pot.

It's funny, I don't go the corned beef and cabbage route but use the corned beef for open-faced reuben sandwiches as well as put portions away in the freezer to have corned beef hash; that corned beef is so much better than the canned.

I keep both chicken and beef flavors in the fridge to add to all kinds of stuff. Sliced carrots with the beef flavor, ground cumin, black pepper and a pinch of salt is absolutely delicious. You can puree it with a stick blender and make a soup out of it as well; when it's in the bowl top with a dollop of sour cream.

What blows my mind is cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, collard greens, brussels sprouts, kale and some others are all the same damned species. Just different "cultivars" as they call them.

504 Haven't seen any newsletters recently, publius. Any news on the latest omg-variant(s)?

IF we're allowed to discuss it, I mean....

And they *taste* so different!

Nope, I haven't sent one out in a while, JQ. There's nothing really new, that we didn't know that's breaking. Basically, vaccines are shit, with a ton of adverse effects and totally ineffective. The powers that be will never admit this, and it's nothing but cover up and pretending.

The truth will come out, but there's gonna be a lot of people in denial.

508 I told her fuck that wedding and go be with your mom, and if they ask where you are I'm going to tell them I told her fuck this wedding.

We've had similar experiences Bers. After 26 yrs of us being Grandma's main support in town, my aunt planned Grandma's 100th bday party (her bday was May 21) for the weekend of our 25th wedding anniversary in late June.

Yeah, she thinks she's the thoughtful caring one. Not so much IMO.

Basically, I'm not going to Windows 11, ever. I'll just use Linux if I need to after the end of support. You can go into the BIOS and turn off the TPM or Intel PTT (which emulates TPM) and that makes your machine incompatible with Windows 11. The automatic upgrade will not run.

Microsoft gets very sneaky trying to upgrade, and this will prevent that from ever hapenning.

Me, I've got the taste bud genes that make brussels sprouts taste like little bitterness grenades. Nothing but a terrible bitterness, no matter how you cook 'em.

It's amazing how the different cultivars, of the same damned single plant species, change all that. Cabbage can have some of those bitter molecules in 'em, usually in the outer leaves of a head. So that's why I always make sure to strip off the outer few layers of leaves for my boiled cabbage.

There is a certain compound, in high relative concentration in brussels sprouts. If you've got the genes, that compound produces an overwhelming bitter taste on your taste buds.

If you don't have that gene, that compound does nothing, and your taste buds respond to all the other stuff in them. You will like those, usually.

Broccoli, cabbage, et al, the other cultivars, don't present as much of that compound, usually. You don't notice it usually, if you have the bitter gene.

514 Coffee and Water guys could not be more wrong if they tried.

Take any two pure solutions - pour any volume of one into the other. You now have a diluted solution. Now, take an equal volume of that solution, pour it in the other. You haven't transferred equal amounts of Material A and Material B. You will, by definition, have more of Material A in the original container, and less of Material B in the second container.

They switch to cards because cards are not a "mixture". Cards are finite units. Mix as many hearts with a single spade - the spade doesn't take on aspects of hearts. It doesn't become less black or more red.
