The Morning Report - 3/30/22

laptopneverheard.jpg

Good morning, kids. Wednesday and the good news is, the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop - albeit 18 months too late - are finally coming to light and will doubtless implicate him and his father in the greatest case of political corruption in history. It's the worst possible kind of graft since it involves not merely influence peddling even to the tune of tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars via bridges to nowhere or Solyndra-esque boondoggles here at home, but the trading in American foreign policy to the detriment of our national security to any buyer, up to and including our worst foreign adversaries and enemies. Along with the Red Chinese, Russia and Ukraine are at the very top of that list. Gee, what a co-inky-dink.

Remember, that's the good news! The bad news is Joey Soft-Serve might accidentally on purpose blunder us not only into a war but possibly a nuclear exchange to cover it all up. Not that he has to, considering there is a massive propaganda machine formerly known as the American news media to bury it or, failing that, deflect the blame to protect him. Meh. Considering he and his Kalorama Komintern Kontrollers have set us on a path not just for mere recession and stagflation or even another Great Depression but total economic and societal collapse, maybe touching off World War 3 isn't such a bad prospect after all.

Pause for a public service announcement: to the trolls in the audience about to belch up that the laptop is Russian disinformation, not two weeks ago The New York Times quietly backpedaled on that claim and declared it 100% kosher. So save your pixels and get your shine boxes. That said, Matt Gaetz, one of the few reliable voices of reason in that cesspool of corruption known as Congress, grilled an FBI flunky about the laptop's whereabouts.

“So where is it? The laptop,” Gaetz asked Bryan Vorndran.

“Sir, I’m not here to talk about the laptop, I’m here to talk about the FBI Cyber Program.”

“You’re the assistant director of FBI Cyber, I want to know where Hunter Biden’s laptop is. Where is it?” Gaetz pressed.

“I don’t know that answer,” Vorndran said.

“That is astonishing to me. Has FBI cyber assessed whether or not Hunter Biden’s laptop could be a point of vulnerability, allowing America’s enemies to hurt our country?” Gaetz asked. . .

. . . “I don’t have any information about the Hunter Biden laptop or the investigation,” Vorndran said as Gaetz continued to press him.

“But should you? I mean, you’re the assistant director of FBI cyber,” Gaetz shot back. “Who should we put in that chair to ask questions about this laptop that FBI has had for three years.”

“So you don’t have it, you don’t know who has it, you’re the assistant director…do you even know who has [the laptop]?” Gaetz again asked.

IIRC, John Paul Mac Isaac, the proprietor of the Delaware computer shop where literal son-of-a-bitch Hunter dropped it off (he was so high on a crystal meth bender that he completely forgot about it, like Stacks Edwards and the getaway van in Goodfellas) made copies of the hard drive and sent them to Rudy Giuliani. And for that sin, he has been targeted for termination. Even with that, I believe the info from the actual computer itself is what's needed for legal purposes. Any lawyers in the audience please weigh in, but if that's the case, you can bet that that computer has been pulverized into subatomic particles and the contents dumped into the Marianas Trench.

Gaetz further took Vorndran to the shed when he asked, “Do you know who we should put in that chair to ask these questions to?” No, he didn’t even know the answer to that question.

“Can you find out?” Gaetz asked. The video ends on a happier note. Gaetz declared, “Mr. Chairman, I seek unanimous consent to enter into the record of this committee, the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, which I am in possession of,” and held up a computer drive. ShaZAM!

Rep. Nadler (D-N.Y.), who was being coached by someone, retorted, “I’m not .… I will object pending further investigation.”

So, okay, it's all orgasmatronic that Matt Gaetz was able to bypass the gastric bypass known as Nadler and get what was shrieked about as Trump-inspired disinformatsiya into the Congressional Record. We'll see what happens with this, but all things considered I'm not holding my breath. For one thing, while the Biden Crime Family may be the main culprits, we know for sure that names like Kerry and Romney are connected in the Ukraine angle via Burisma among other shady dealings. This is Washington DC, and in the immortal words of George Carlin, "It's a big club, and you ain't in it." But with a $5.8 TRILLION budget about to be passed, that means a lot of people in that club are going to get rich, one way or another.

So the Bidens, along with the Clintons, Kerrys, Romneys, Obamas, McConnells, Pelosis, Feinsteins and all the rest will for sure skate, whatever facts come out of that hard drive. And considering what this is all about, the word "treason" is not far off the mark. In that vein, I give you both Uranium One and Loral Space Industries as just two examples, if not as a part of that hard drive then to bolster my claim of corruption top to bottom in that town that has been going on for years, if not decades.

It's that level of corruption that allowed the political class that runs that town - and runs our lives as our overlords - to use what were supposed to be independent, incorruptible law enforcement and intelligence agencies whose mission was to protect us at home and abroad to engineer a coup that almost sabotaged the 2016 election that, along with the entire federal bureaucracy, did its best to sabotage via direct insubordination and subversion the Trump presidency and finally, under the cover of a pandemic "emergency" engineered a successful coup that stole the 2020 election and now seeks the consolidation of power via witch hunts and political terrorism disguised as law enforcement.

I honestly appreciate Matt Gaetz grilling this turd with a badge Bryan Vondran. But what of it? Even if he becomes some sort of fall guy, look what happened to Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Gumsy Page and Kevin Clinesmith. A slap on the wrist, then a pat on the back and a fat book deal and CNN gig.

Meanwhile, Ashli Babbitt, Roseanne Boyland and Matthew Perna are dead, patriots like Peter Navarro and Ginni Thomas are being targeted, as scores of others are still rotting away in the Garland Archipelago. Above it all, a sick, demented and fabulously wealthy stooge who got rich the old fashioned way - graft - has got his teenage tampon-bedewed hands on the nuclear football.

Oh, and by the way, the CDC and FDA lied about both the number of actual cases of Chinese COVID and continues to cover up the thousands of deaths and adverse reactions from a vaccine that was completely unnecessary to begin with.

At the risk of butchering Robert Frost, "The rot is ugly, dark and deep . . . "

My concern is that parents are lazy as hell. Disney provides babysitting in 2 hour chunks. Pop in a Disney movie and your kids quit terrorizing you for a while.

Getting parents to give that up is the hurdle but I agree that Disney needs to be hurt financially, a lot.

Parents need to put morality in front of their kids demands and the easy access to the distractions they provide.

They stole the 2020 election and everyone knows it. Hell they took a victory lap on "fortifying the election" and no one did anything about it.

I suspect we'll see a Red Wave in states with conservative AGs and election officials in 2022...and an unexpected blue turnout in the states without them.

And then in 2024 (presuming we make it to that point) DeSantis or Trump or whatever better be prepared for tens of millions of fake votes to be cast for their opponent.

Just spitballing here but the proposed law taxes "unrealized gains" and as you noted it does not appear to exclude real estate. So every cattle rancher here with 50+ acres is going to be taxed on the value for their land whether or not they sell it.

And you've put your finger on why the Electoral College is so important. This fall, undoubtedly California will turn in eleventy million votes for Dem candidates; but they already dominate every state office, so who cares? But if they're allowed to use their raw numbers in a Presidential Election, they can turn in 500 million votes for a Democrat President and there's nothing in law anyone can do about it.

94 Even with that, I believe the info from the actual computer itself is what's needed for legal purposes. Any lawyers in the audience please weigh in, but if that's the case, you can bet that that computer has been pulverized into subatomic particles and the contents dumped into the Marianas Trench.
++++
I doubt they need the computer, but they will need a chain of custody and forensic copies. At least probably. I'm not a lawyer, but it strikes me that copies floating around out in the world would need to be validated, but validation is difficult without something against which to compare it.

This will go nowhere. It will be noisy and it will be embarrassing and perhaps even humiliating, but nothing official will be done. The FBI has been playing "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" with that laptop for years now. That hard drive image is one of the few things they *didn't* take from Giuliani. 95 Parents need to put morality in front of their kids demands and the easy access to the distractions they provide.

Parents need to realize that the "modern lifestyle" is a lie and a trap (much like the cake) and that what it succeeds in doing (by design?) is fracturing the family unit and raising children who know nothing except what the State and Media want them to know.

To the extent one can (and it differs from situation to situation, I know), a family needs to keep a parent home with the children, educate its own children, look to and care for its own elders. Yes, this may mean things like living in a smaller house with more people, not having the newest phones, and even not (*gasp!*) getting a high-priced Bachelor's Degree in Trans-Humanist Art.

If you want the world to be more moral and safer for children, it's something you'll have to take a direct part in.

100 My proposal for reforming the FBI.

Create a new organization that has the ONLY authority to investigate crimes by members of the federal government.

The organization, call it the "Federal Anti-Corruption Taskforce (FACT)", but name it whatever.

FACT is funded directly by the states, by population. The funding levels and executives are voted on my the governors of all 50 states. No one that has worked for the federal government, outside of the DoD may serve in FACT, and no one that served in FACT may work for any branch of the federal government. And no federal organization has any oversight over FACT.

So, you get a completely independent org that answers only to the states, and only has as its charter investigating fed gov.

122 Maybe letting the state raise your kids was fine up to the early nineties but that has changed.

The 80s and 90s were when I was going through school, and in semi-rural Johnson County, Texas, I don't think anyone realized exactly how bad an idea government-run schools were. It still felt so much like the old (probably idealized) idea of single room schools set up and paid for by the community - just bigger.

But as I look back on it (both my experience, and looking at the underlying philosophies that led to mass government-run schools) I realize that it was always a house of cards (at best), and people should always have been skeptical.

As a kid I didn't realize how bad this was. As an informed adult I'm absolutely appalled, but even in the 90s on State-issued standardized tests we all knew that the right answer was the "politically correct one," at least in the reading and science portions of the test - if there was a way for the math portion to have a politically correct answer, it was the right one there, too.

That should have horrified my parents. For some reason, it did not.

Trusting anyone in government is like trusting anyone in any other position of authority - they *will* let you down at some point, even if they're otherwise great.

The key, the Framers understood, was making the Federal Government tough enough to protect our borders and keep the States from each other's throats while also making them inconsequential enough in people's lives that losing an election cycle was an inconvenience and a let down - not a threat to your very existence.

It's not that the Federal Government couldn't be fixed - but that there's so much inertia built up - and too much entrenched graft and corruption - that no one will.

Which brings us back to my first comment.

163 Good morning everyone. Thank you J.J.

Saint of the Day:
St. Fergus of Scotland (d. 730 A.D.), also known as St. Fergustian or Fergus the Pict, Bishop of the Gaels, was a bishop serving in the north of Scotland. Little is known of his life. He is believed to have been trained as a bishop in Ireland, ministering there for many years before traveling as a missionary to Scotland. He went throughout the Scottish countryside preaching the Gospel, setting up churches dedicated to St. Patrick of Ireland, and working to convert the pagan people to Christianity. He also traveled to St. Peter's Basilica to participate in the Council of Rome in 721 A.D. He died around the year 730 A.D. and is buried in Glamis, Angus, in Scotland. Nearby is St. Fergus' Well. The site is believed to be where St. Fergus presided over religious services before the first church of Glamis was built. His feast day is March 30th.

Close all existing agencies and remove police powers from every agency that is not closed. No more IRS shock troops, for example. Reform the entire thing into six new agencies with strict boundaries:
1. Federal LE for all physical interstate crime only and presidential protection
2. Federal LE for interstate cyber and financial crime
3. Foreign intelligence
4. Domestic intelligence
5. Military intelligence
6. Internal affairs to police the other agencies

That sixth agency will be staffed at no greater than 20% from people who previously worked in other federal agencies. The balance will be recruited from outside the federal government, from state LE and the private sector. Pay for investigators and prosecutors will be majority bonus-based and tied to bounties. Want more money? Successfully prosecute more dirty cops and spies. Yes, this is a perverse incentive. It is also targeted inward at the state.

206 The one place Disney bends over backwards to accommodate the demands of the government and ignores real human rights atrocities is China. Disney allows Chinese authorities to censor their movies and won't say or do anything to offend the ruling CCP.

Disney also owns the majority share of ESPN and their revenue from China, mostly NBA related, is in the billions and growing.

China loves cultural upheaval in the US and they pay for it. They spent a boatload supporting BLM and so did Disney. China has been buying US politicians and businessmen for years.

When things make no sense like Disney going woke and pushing crazy crap on kids it's because of money and an increasing amount of that money comes from China.

Outside of CA (and that will change - they will eventually get rid of Prop 13), it is wildly variable. Where I live, our property taxes were high for the area and considered a threat to growth. The two counties and the city made a promise to residents that there would be zero property tax increases, no abuse of assessments and a couple of cuts over ten years. They kept their promise. My area's property taxes are competitive with the rest of the region now and no longer the highest. The assessors are fair with their assessments and don't chase the market up (because then they'd have to chase it down).

This is exceedingly rare, though. Something like Prop13 is a better idea.

I wonder if the Soviets hadn't imploded if it would look differently today? The Soviet line for the New Left was at least somewhat rational - it focused on race relations and pacifism.

Now the new left is focused on upper class boutique "victim groups" like trannies and is lobbying for a war of choice with Russia.

That's not how this world works. Individuals can be reformed, but organizations? I've never seen it happen. When an org goes bad, it needs to die, and be replaced by something that does what it used to do. There of course is mourning for what was, and what has been lost. But the loss has already happened, it's just hard to accept that it is permanent and can never be undone.

Oh, I reckon they don't care for that idea at all. Converting the four non-handicapped spaces nearest the building (which they did) is one thing. Electrifying an entire parking lot - including new utility service, assuming it's available - is quite another.

Roots are one thing, financing a movement is something completely different.

Do you really think it was just a coincidence that the BLM, a Marxist political movement that wore the long simmering black civil rights movement as a suit of armor, just existed on moral outrage? It was highly financed and choreographed and much of the funding came from China.

China exploits division with their funding. They don't have to create issues, they just fund them. You don't get a huge corporation like Disney to start doing things that make absolutely no sense to their historical core constituency without money. There aren't that many pedophile in the world let alone in the US to have this movement make sense without money being at the root.

As always, look what the people who supply the product do for themselves and compare what they say you should do. Social media is the prime example in my mind. Most social media executives don't use social media themselves - they hire someone to run their accounts. They don't let their kids use social media. Hell, they don't let their kids have their own computers or phones or use them unsupervised, and put strict time limits on supervised use.

It's okay for you, though. Your kids should definitely have their own phone and laptop and social media accounts. You should, too. Go for it.

The answer is in your question; its because there aren't going to be stations where everyone can just fill up, that's a foolish fever dream. So, in order for their Brave New World to come about, they have to create Government Mandates for employers to do things that are economically suicidal.

The fact that they are talking about mandating this is proof that they already know all of this.

Money, from two revenue streams. In many places, there is subsidy money available to install them. That's bad policy, but it is what it is. Second, the units usually aren't free to use. They often start that way, but you have to register for a card or an account to use it. Later on, they can flip it over to a paid service and make a bit of money on it.

I mean, the CDC is still publicizing idiotic data. So far there are 52,000 Covid deaths that blatantly have nothing to do with Covid - 29,500 that died in hospice (you don't go to hospice with Covid) and 22,400 that died of accidental or intentional injury, poisoning, or other adverse events.

392 Looking at the calendar: The new Congress will be sworn-in January 3, 2023.

If the Democrats want to get rid of Joe and put some totally owned, totally dogmatic, yet semi-competent Democrat in as Kamala's VP, they should plan to win the VP votes in House and Senate no later than January 2, 2023, while they have a House majority and Nanzi is Speaker. Beginning January 3, 2023, it's expected the Hose will be Republican and McCarthy /spit/ will be Speaker and next-in-line after Kamala.

So perhaps we have less than 9 more months of Joe POTUS, and then Kamala for better or worse.

Hunter's laptop may be the tool the Dems use to dump Joey, as I think JJ has speculated here before.

Perspective:

The International Space Station, with cutting edge solar tech and the ability to aim and maximize light collection at all hours of the day (no clouds!), can't power one block of average sized houses in the United States for one day.

423 400 >>Well, they can try, but the only thing they'll actually accomplish is crippling the electricity grid.

Two of the biggest EV networks being rolled out as of now are Electrify America which is a VW company and Tesla. Both of them have announced that at least half of the new charging locations they are rolling out will be solar and battery powered and off grid.

Electrify America just did an announcement last week or the week before where they put out mock ups of some of the new stations. They look like gas stations with solar on the roofs of the charging canopies and lounge areas with all the amenities so you can work or eat while your car is charging.

There's a ton of money being poured into this.

Posted by: JackStraw at March 30, 2022 09:31 AM (ZLI7S)

Off-grid with solar panels on the roof? I wonder what the cost will be of the tons of storage batteries that will be needed to operate the station 24/7. How much will drivers be charged for the electricity?

Wasted money. I'm betting it is a lie about the stations being off the grid. No way is wind and solar going to generate enough for any sort of consistent traffic.

431 Why do leftists need a new term -pansexual-for sexual expression , or is pansexual different than bisexual in that unlike bisexuals you are willing to have sex with someone who claims to be another gender than what they were born with?

That's specifically it - you're willing to screw anything that moves, even if it's trans, and probably some things that aren't.

Oh yea. Nothing is going to be free.

Remember the $2 billion VW was fined for faking their diesel emissions a couple years ago? The EPA made a deal and allowed them to use that $2 billion to build EV charging stations. And they are investing more.

This is going to be a money maker for them.

They already are. Check out beamforall.com. They have been up and running for a few years, used to be called Envision. Take a look at their customer page. Mostly government buyers so far but Electrify America is also using their stuff in some locations.

Each two car charging station complete costs about $60K.

442 How much will drivers be charged for the electricity?

In part of an article in Car and Driver a few months back, they noted that at Tesla's high-speed superchargers they were pricing electricity at 3x the equivalent price of fuel energy. So their Model 3 which is about 3x as efficient as a regular sedan was costing ... exactly the same to "fill up" as a regular sedan. Progress!

Oh, sure. I own Tesla stock and am doing well. It's just irritating to watch the direction we're going and have my eyes opened so abruptly. At least during the 80s and 90s we could pretend that the stock market was somewhat tied to reality. It's absolutely meaningless now. You might as well throw darts at investments and hope the government decides that one is the one it wants to force people to buy.

It should never have been about "Hunter's laptop scandal" but "Joe Biden's Influence Peddling."

Just as it was never about "Hillary's emails" but was nothing less than Hill's leaking Presidential-level intel to the Chicoms and Russkies by deliberately and illegally using an unsecured server for top secret comms.

And her doing so, of course, to hide illegal Clinton Foundation Influence peddling while SOS.

Fox too has adopted the most trivializing terms possible for worst-possible levels of corruption and damage.

That honestly isn't scalable, now feasible when you're talking about an hour long charge compared to a 5 minute fillup. Nevermind that it can't and won't remain "free" for long. Or that most people would prefer to charge their vehicles at home over night.

The notion that we can electrify the vehicle fleet in the US without crippling the electricity grid is absolute fiction.
