The Morning Report - 3/25/22

thomaslampoon.jpg

Good morning, kids. The weekend is here and the struggle for freedom and liberation goes on. Yeah, Ukraine, whatever. But mostly I mean right here at home. The cancer that has been gnawing away at us since the end of the Second World War, if not as far back as Woodrow Wilson, has metastasized to such an extent that short of radical treatment- and I mean that metaphor in its fullest sense - will be required if we are to have a chance at survival, let alone recovery.

The latest symptom erupting on the diseased body politic is, of course, the Senate confirmation hearings for this Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. The fact that someone who putatively has sworn to uphold the Constitution while spending her career to this point wiping her ass with it is being considered to take a seat for life on the highest court in the land is certainly cause for alarm. Yet, what underscores my metaphor is the fact that this woman (you don't need to be Watson & Crick to confidently make that determination) was able to bamboozle her way into becoming a judge in the first place. That's not just a shot at her but at every fellow traveler along the way who fueled her rise and, worse, everyone along the way who recognized who and what she is and what she stood for and did nothing to keep her the hell away from the bench.

Well, here we are.

The existence of a speech by Biden's Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, praising Derrick Bell, the godfather of critical race theory, and citing his book, Faces At the Bottom of the Well, as an influence has been widely reported. Conservatives have covered Bell's racist views, his praise for Farrakhan, his antisemitism, and attacks on America. Much of this was already hashed out during the exposure of the relationship between Barack Obama and Derrick Bell.

. . . As others have pointed out, Faces At the Bottom of the Well was published when Jackson was in her early twenties during Bell’s tantrum against Harvard University. It’s unlikely that Biden’s Supreme Court nominee grew up with the hateful text, but it’s entirely plausible that she was influenced by the book which came out when she was at Harvard and then Harvard Law.

Since Bell began his racial strike against Harvard Law before she had completed her undergraduate degree, it’s unlikely that she had taken any of his classes, but the former member of the faculty was clearly an influence on her. Perhaps Jackson’s memory is faulty or she’s deliberately backdating the book’s influence to her childhood to make it seem more innocent. Surely no one could blame a ten year old for being attracted to a racialist text. . .

. . .Such racial conspiracy theories, ubiquitous in the work and thought of black nationalists and supremacists, who always begin and end with the premise of white evil, pervade Bell’s work.

Faces At the Bottom of the Well was a way to popularize and communicate this central idea at a level that even a child or a not particularly bright Harvard student, already nursing resentments, would be able to understand by depicting scenarios in which the white society and white people would cheerfully revamp the Constitution to bring back black slavery. . .

. . . The Constitution, according to Bell, is merely the whim of a white agenda that serves its purposes. To the extent that the law has outlawed segregation and slavery, it did so only because it temporarily served white purposes and the moment that it would serve white purposes to enslave black people again, it would be done within the Constitution. That is the message of Faces At the Bottom of the Well: the book that influenced Jackson. . .

. . . Absorbing the paranoid racism of the godfather of critical race theory during her formative years at Harvard makes for a bad judge and a worse justice. Bell’s approach to the Constitution, like that of black nationalists, was that it was a trick to lure black people into lowering their guard.

White people, he believed, could never be trusted and all that mattered was seizing power.

Any laws or documents made by white people would only serve them. Only black people could secure the rights of black people. Like the Nazis, the ultimate truths were race and power.

Everything else was a distraction.

If that is Ketanji Brown Jackson’s worldview, she cannot be expected to come out and say it. But the highest court in the land is the last place for racial paranoia and nationalism.

Absolutely 100% true, as Daniel Greenfield asserts, that "the highest court in the land is the last place for racial paranoia and nationalism." But, as I stated above, that statement applies to the nth degree for any court in the land. And yet, Jackson is viewed by her party and acolytes, and to the low information crowd, as the cream of the crop, the best and the brightest. And in the words of bald-headed stooge Brokeback Booker, choking back his glycerine tears, "a great American." Yeah, just like Father Coughlin, with a deep tan and lady parts.

The Supreme Court, whether we like it or not, has become the great oracle of Delphi insofar as being the final arbiter of what is and what is not Constitutional. As Mark Levin always said, and I paraphrase, each June we sit on tenterhooks waiting for nine very flawed human beings to decide how over 330 million of us will have to live our lives insofar as their decrees go about laws, and mostly bureaucratic regulations from unelected apparatchiks in the Deep State. That is completely antithetical to the way the framers of the Constitution envisioned, but it's too late to bitch about that one.

More to the point, let's say by some miracle this hideous racialist is rejected. There are a dozen more, dozens more with gossamer-thin Obama-like résumés inversely proportional to their overflowing hatred of the nation and society that allowed them to attain their level of achievement (affirmative action and Democrat Central Casting notwithstanding) waiting in the wings. And they'll all be some variant of black, female, lesbian and transexual so as to put the fear of Gaia into any Republican who dare oppose them, lest they be accused of you-know-what-"ism."

But, given the nature of the corruption of our society and government top to bottom and inside out, I ask yet again, what does it really matter at this point if this Jackson or some other Jackson takes that seat? We hashed this out on our award-winning™️ podcast,
wherein I declared how fed up I was with having to be satisfied with moral victories in the face of the overwhelming disaster we are dealing with in the wake of the 2020 stolen election, and everything that led up to it. Well, the fact is, the "I'm not a biologist" response to Marsha Blackburn, the Will "Lia" Thomas farce and the continued mass child abuse of our children at the hands of homosexual deviants, perverts and crackpots to make them lobotomized eunuchs in service to the furtherance of Marxism may very well be the tipping point at which a heretofore uncaring or ignorant majority wake up and smell the coffee, if not the "covfefe."

We can't throw our hands up. We can't crawl under the bed. We can't tuck ourselves into a ball and pray that they leave us alone. Everything we are experiencing right here and now shows us that the longer we stay down the harder they stomp on our heads.

We have to fight back because we are almost to the point where we have nothing left to lose. Screw the GOP. They're not going to help; in fact just the opposite as is evidenced by vermin like McConnell, Romney, Cheney and all the rest.

Breitbart, PBUH, said it best: "Fuck you. War." In any case, with Putin seemingly cornered and the idiots putting words and Maypo in Biden's maw, we might actually have nuclear war. So at least we have that to look forward to.

Have a good weekend.

23 Good morning everyone. Thank you J.J.

Saint of the Day
St. Dismas (1st c.) is the name Church tradition has given to the "Good Thief," one of the two criminals who were crucified alongside Jesus Christ on Good Friday. All we know about St. Dismas is what is mentioned of him in the Gospels: "Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying, 'Are you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us.' The other [St. Dismas] however, rebuking him, said in reply, 'Have you no fear of God, for you are subject to the same condemnation? And indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal.'" Then St. Dismas, as an expression of his faith in Christ as the Messiah, said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus replied to St. Dismas, "Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise" (Luke 23:39-42). The feast day of St. Dismas is March 25.

29 I really have never liked the Pledge of Allegiance. If anything, it's government officials who should begin every meeting and function with a Pledge of Allegiance to We The People and our Constitution. Their allegiance is to us, and to the Republic, not the other way around. We ARE the Republic, for which the flag stands, not some faceless mass of obedient servants pledging blind fealty to a political class of perverts and criminals.

As much as I'd like to see that happen, it won't. I say this with all sincerity, but I don't think many white people truly appreciate how much deep hatred many black people have for the US. Sorry to hear it
I've never met a Bosch dishwasher I've liked. In my experience they're complicated and poorly laid out. Some folks love 'em, I'm just not one of them. For my money, the stuff under Whirlpool's banner has treated me very well. For middle budgets, the Maytag is a good product and for the high budgets, I think the three-rack KitchenAid design can't be beat.

Maybe. I had that for a whirlpool washer and dryer, which both died in 2 years within a week of each other and needed $1K in parts/each (since both motherboards blew, and some other things broke). The company picked up all the (probably inflated) parts cost and I picked up the labor (b/c out of official warranty, but they didn't want the bad press on how much broke at once), and then they ran til this Mar 17, which was 13 more years...so I bought Whirlpool again there (since they were the best without wi fi included)...

149 Good morning. Great read, as usual, J.J.

Ah, yes, SCOTUS. Years ago, I told someone, "Just because the Supreme Court rules something Constitutional doesn't make it so."

Needless to say, that remark didn't go over very well.

I still remember, with embarrassmentt, my dismissiveness toward some legislation, due to my confidence in the judgement of the Supreme Court. Little did I realize the leftoids in Congress have long taken the "spaghetti against the wall" approach when it comes to legislation, figuring some legistation was bound to stick.

154 So, I had an idea this morning, but I don't know how I'd go about doing it.

Basically, I want to put together a concrete list of Democrat policy failures (in a "this is how this affects you" sort of way) of the last 40 years or so (maybe further back - maybe all the way to the 50s) and start an ad campaign that basically says "If you vote Democrat, you're supporting more of this."

Things like Illegal Immigration Crisies (Chrisises? What is the plural of crisis?): Hurts the poor and vulnerable by X, Y, and Z.

High inflation hurts the poor and vulnerable by X, Y, and Z.

The Welfare State and Abortion on demand hurt poor minorities by X, Y, and Z.

And the tag line would be something along the lines of "A vote for a Democrat is a vote against our most vulnerable."

155 Today is also the Solemnity of the Annunciation, known in England as Lady Day, marking the Angel Gabriel's visit to Mary and the conception of Jesus (exactly 9 months before Christmas).

For those of you familiar with the Fatima apparitions, Pope Francis is consecrating Russia and Ukraine to Mary today... this is something Our Lady of Fatima asked for to bring about peace and the conversion of Russia. There have been similar consecrations done by other popes and there is still some controversy about whether they fulfilled the request or not, but today would be an especially good day to pray for Ukraine and Russia.

Laudable, but we're in a post-reality political landscape. Rational argument has already won over everyone it's going to. We're now into the meme war phase.

Appeal to vanity. Appeal to clannishness. Leverage the hyperdivisivness built up over generations. "Hey, black folks, you realize they're over you, right?" "Hey, gay dudes... have fun being an unperson because you don't dress like a chick." "Hey, Latinos.... oh, you're already here. Cool. That's the beauty of this campaign. It goes straight toward the "good person" virtue signaling in most LIVs.

It's not simply clinical "Illegal immigration depresses wages by blah blah." No, we go all emotional:

"Illegal immigration hurts the poor by depressing their wages and keeping them out of good paying jobs. A vote for a Democrat is a vote against our most vulnerable."

"Run-away inflation makes it so the poor can't afford food for the table, gas to get to their jobs, or medicine to keep their children healthy. A vote for a Democrat is a vote against our most vulnerable."

It's awesome because it's an emotional gut-punch ("Oh, this policy hurts the poor!" or "Oh, this policy hurts children!" or whatever) AND it also happens to be true.

236 DO NOT WATCH the show "Gunpowder.!" Three part series on HBO, set in 1605 Britain.

A young priest is executed in front of a cheering mob, by being hanged, dropped still alive, then disemboweled, emasculated, eyes still open and seeing in wonder, then quartered with a huge axe, beheaded, the head thrown into a fire, then the blackened horror held up for view.

This method of execution, the highest level of barbarism, done for show and to instill terror, was still on the books as OK in England, until 1870, when it was banned.

It was specified for crimes of treason, and treason means wrong-speak.

And we have wrong-speak right now, and will get a supreme court to enshrine arrest and punishment for it, the first amendment be damned.

I imagine most people would be shocked to learn just how many binding, important rulings that we have to live with every day have actually been written by nameless clerks who never even had so much as a single public hearing before assuming their jobs.

311 While the world goes to shit, I am single-handedly supporting the economy...

Using my perfect timing, we are building two new buildings at the garden center we bought a few months ago. I wanted to make sure we did this at the height of lumber prices for maximum effect. Following this same formula, we bought a new dump truck and pickup truck yesterday while vehicle prices reached historic highs.

Luckily, the dump truck is a diesel and holds 60 gallons just as it hits $5.45 a gallon here.

There must be something else I can invest in while the market is at crazy levels.

313 I watched Tucker put Cory Booker through the meat grinder and the remains through the wood chipper. I liked the part about his growing up on the mean streets, both parents IBM execs. Black guy I went to school with, fellow Marine, was seriously wounded in Nam, medically discharged. I was home on leave and he asked me if I could give him a ride to Cleveland, as his uncle was giving him a car. Yep, sure. Well, it wasn't exactly Hough and not really Cleveland. Shaker Heights. The mean streets. His uncle and family made the Huxtables on Cosby's show look like Crips or Bloods.

327 Regarding the potential for an upcoming military draft: lawyers are going to clean up if this happens. There won't just be 4F and felon disqualifications; think of the number of drafted folks seeking exemptions for the junior commie league antifa/BLM types, trannys, and number of kids that go on a drug bender the night before reporting for the pre-induction physical. The number of abortions should go down in the pussy hat brigade though.
