The Morning Report - 3/22/22

trelaynesammydavisjr.jpg

Good morning, kids. Tuesday and the story that is bubbling through the Ukraine situation is the confirmation hearings of this Kentanji Jackson communist to take the SCOTUS seat to be vacated by retiring Justice Stephen Breyer. If you look at this dame's record both as a jurist and as a law student, it's a litany vile racialism wrapped up inside a warped view of the world centered on a loathing of the very principles of the document she supposedly has sworn to preserve, protect and defend. In other words, typical Leftist.

As the hearings kicked off, there were some fireworks by the likes of Ted Cruz, someone I have become less and less enamored of as the years have gone by, who nonetheless called out the Democrats for their raging hypocrisy, theatrics and outright despicable character assassinations and political theater whenever a Republican nominee faces confirmation.

“It is only one side of the aisle, the Democratic aisle, that went so into the gutter with Judge Robert Bork that they invented a new verb, to ‘Bork’ someone.”

“It is only one side of the aisle that, with Justice Clarence Thomas, was so reprehensible that […] President George Herbert Walker Bush wrote at the time, quote, what’s happening to Clarence Thomas is just plain horrible,” Cruz continued.  “All the groups that tried to beat him up on abortion, affirmative action have now come out of the woodwork, they’re trying to destroy a decent man. As Justice Thomas observed in that hearing, what happened there was, to use his words, ‘a high-tech lynching.’ And I would note the chairman who presided over that disgrace was Joe Biden.”

Fire and brimstone or sturm und drang? Meh. On the other hand, there's Josh Hawley, who I've been more impressed with than Ted Cruz, actually sounding the alarm bell on Jackson's record for being extremely soft on pedophiles, rapists and child porn purveyors.

“As far back as her time in law school, Judge Jackson has questioned making convicts register as sex offenders – saying it leads to ‘stigmatization and ostracism,’” Hawley tweeted. “She’s suggested public policy is driven by a ‘climate of fear, hatred & revenge’ against sex offenders". . .

. . . Hawley said the U.S. Sentencing Commission has refused to provide the committee with all of Jackson’s records from her time spent there. The Missouri Senator called Jackson’s record “disturbing,” and added, “sending child predators to jail shouldn’t be controversial.” He also called out Jackson for wondering if there is a type of “less-serious child pornography offender.”

Charming. I'm sure it'll come as no surprise that this fool is a huge fan of Calypso Louie Farrakhan and not a fan of the First Amendment, which of course makes her an ideal jurist in the eyes of the Marxists. The icing on the cake is this pearl-necklace of wisdom from mass-assassin linked Dick Durbin:

Referencing Senator Josh Hawley’s (R-MO) claims that Judge Jackson had a “soft on crime” approach to dealing with sex offenders, Durbin argued that such accusations were “baseless” and “unfair.”

That's right, folks. Accurately stating a judge's case record, which is actual public knowledge and not merely "claims," is now "unfair." But of course, sliming, smearing and lying about a Republican nominee is not only fair, but doing the Lord's work, right Dickweed?

Hell, what does it matter? Really, at the end of the day, given the state of the nation politically and culturally, what will it really matter if this horrendous person is confirmed to the highest court in the land? For decades now, we have been ruled by a government that is completely antithetical to the one that the Founders intended. We have a justice system that exists to punish the political enemies of those in power as well as distort or outright ignore that tattered piece of parchment so as to preserve, protect and defend that power. That goes double since the greatest crime in American history, the one that ended it: the theft of the 2020 election and final act in the overthrow of America as founded. Need I remind you that along with the trio of avowed Lefties, it was Roberts, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch and Coney-Barrett that sat on their hands and did nothing to at least forestall the inevitable and sound the alarm. In that regard, Kentanji Jackson had nothing to do with it.

So, what does it matter if she's confirmed? And if she isn't, do you really think Ron Klain and Valerie Jarrett are going to do a reverse Dubya and nominate someone that could potentially vote on a case with the conservatives? In Soviet Amerika, the court is not there to uphold the law; it's there as an expediency to assert raw power over the individual, period.

Within the incestuous cesspool that is the nation’s capital, it’s not unusual for a power couple to work on the same side of the political aisle. Matthew Graves is a registered Democrat who served as a domestic policy advisor for Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.

What is highly unusual—and should raise the eyebrows of congressional Republicans (it won’t) and January 6 defense attorneys (it might)—is that the unprecedented criminal investigation into the four-hour disturbance at the Capitol over a year ago is in the hands of a partisan prosecutor married to a radical left-wing activist who has openly condemned, with racist language, supporters of Donald Trump.

Since taking over the U.S. attorney’s office in October, Graves has ramped up the Justice Department’s witch hunt into the events of January 6. Originally described as the “Capitol breach” probe, Graves recently replaced the word “breach” with “siege,” and is seeking to hire at least 20 new prosecutors to handle the growing January 6 caseload. . .

. . . Fatima Goss Graves herself condemned the events of January 6. Trump should be impeached, Graves wrote in a statement on January 7, 2021, and his “enablers in Congress must be held accountable for their attempt to subvert our democracy and embolden these terrorists.”

Graves once again invoked race. “The disconnect between the treatment of peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters this summer [sic] and violent insurrectionists this week puts our unequal society on full display, making all the more clear the national travesty Black people have lived with for generations,” Graves claimed, contrary to all evidence. She further demanded a “thorough investigation” into what happened on January 6.

To say she’s getting her wish is an understatement. Nearly 800 Americans, nearly all white, have been arrested so far, with new charges filed every week. The abusive prosecution, with help from the media, is destroying lives—and Graves’ office isn’t done yet.

And Fatima Goss Graves is - surprise! - a huge cheerleader for Kentanji Jackson. Just to underscore the estimable Julie Kelly's report, Robert Spencer notes:

On Jan. 6, 2021, a protestor, 40-year-old Brady Knowlton, says that an officer at the Capitol told “You can go in, as long as you don’t break anything.” At 2:35 p.m., Knowlton did, entering through the Upper West Terrace doors. He looked around inside the building, walked through the Rotunda, lobby, and Senate chamber gallery, obeyed the officer’s injunction not to break anything, and left the building at 2:53 p.m. For that, Knowlton now faces twenty years in prison in Old Joe Biden’s vengeful banana republic.

On top of the possibility of being behind bars until 2042, Knowlton, a law student, has suffered numerous other consequences already. According to the Daily Wire, “his law degree has been withheld, his lawyers say, Airbnb has banned him and his wife, and, for reasons that remain undisclosed, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection has stripped his Global Entry access. . . ”

. . . Imagine a country that imprisons peaceful protestors on false charges of participating in an attempt to overthrow the government, as part of efforts to discredit and ultimately criminalize all opposition to the ruling party’s agenda. People who entered a public building when police held the door open for them are being held in solitary confinement and given draconian punishments far out of proportion to what they actually did. This is the sort of thing that happens in Third World countries, right? This is the sort of thing tinpot dictators do in banana republics, where the rulers gained power by underhanded means and have no respect for due process, the rule of law, or the rights of their citizens — right? Maybe so, but the cases of Knowlton and other Jan. 6 protestors show that all this and worse is happening right now in the land of the free and the home of the brave, where up until quite recently, it all would have been unthinkable. . .

. . . In America, we no longer have a single justice system for all people, regardless of race, or of power, or privilege, or the protected victimhood status they may have among the Leftist intelligentsia. We no longer have a justice system that is indifferent to and independent of political pressure. The politically and culturally dominant Left is not content with the massive power and influence it wields now; it is determined to silence all opposition and destroy it utterly.

With a DOJ/FBI, police and judges who allow this to happen or even eagerly participate in it, on top of the destruction of our economy, culture and way of life now moving at breakneck speed, what does it really matter if another affirmative action diversity hire and worse, anti-American crackpot racialist sits on the highest court of the land? A land that no longer really exists?

Yep. Kentanji Jackson's role is to protect the vast army of pedophiles and sex traffickers that make up and supply the Democratic Party.

The upside to this, is that we can sort of better calculate the trajectory to societal oblivion by comparing this to other fallen empires as they once embraced catamites and temple prostitutes a step or two before their destruction.

Honestly, I don't really see a use for SCOTUS anymore. They've dodged or ignored the very constitution they're supposed to uphold in order to satisfy leftists or keep the conservatives at bay.

Its pretty clear that for generations the SCOTUS never even accepted the existence of the US Constitution. They seem to like tweaking precedence. That is how you can have the Constitution read "shall not be infringed" and the SCOTUS is perfectly fine with tens of thousands of infringements.

A mother who takes a picture of their baby being a goofball at bath time. A 17 year old kid who fools around with a 15 year old. A massive part of the law industry is figuring out how the law operates in borderline cases, appreciating spirit vs. letter, etc.

Using that conversation as a Trojan horse for normalizing perversion and predation is truly, truly sick.

34 Apparently I need to be much more specific with my "burn it down" comment, because the object of my ire was *NOT* West Texas.

I'm guessing the fires here in Texas haven't been discussed much, but they're bad.

The neighboring town of Carbon, TX has been essentially erased. The general consensus of those who fled the flames is "there's nothing left."

Another fire popped up about 5 or 6 miles south of us on Sunday, so we were evacuated. Lucky for us, my parents live not too far away, so we had a place to stay Sunday night, and the rain yesterday helped some, but it would be really nice if this part of the state would stop trying to burn itself down now.

And to just add to that uplifting thought: the States won't do anything about it. They won't even try. They're too addicted to the sweet, sweet cash that the Feds dole out to ever jeopardize that by actually standing up for their own citizens.

Oh, certainly, you'll get a few who stand up to be counted when *new* spending comes down the pike - the Obama Stimulus, for instance, and some of the "stimulus" spending during COVID are examples - but once you tie existing funding to something, the States have become too dependent upon it, and the populace has become too lazy and complacent.

No, we cannot celebrate those who brought us this life so full of luxury that we can whine that someone might not take our picture or bake us a cake. We can only celebrate deviance and debauchery.

66 What sickens me is that none of this is legitimate. Because Biden's "presidency" isn't legitimate. We have J6 true political prisoners (in America!) rotting in prison without trial and nobody cares. We are surrounded by loud, violent leftists who have infiltrated everything. Every institution. And the up and coming teachers, lawyers, journalists, doctors are all being trained in CRT, "equity" and all the other leftist garbage that has ruined us. I have to admit I don't see any hope on the horizon. We've been squeezed to death from all sides. With the ultimate culmination a fully-corrupted Fed Govt Leviathan accountable to no one.

Posted by: Thomas Paine

Can we be adults here and drop the "supposedly represent"?

The most recent tell was when the West started to seize wealthy Russian citizen's assets. The Party sees things only one way. They don't have theory of mind, they have horizontal decalage which translates into them being tunnel visioned and not capable of comprehending outside of their own experience. Since they seem to have a decidedly undiverse background, this means that their understanding of the world is pretty small.

So when a head of state ordered the invasion of a smaller country, they looked in the mirror and said "How best can we wound him?" and they decided to go after the oligarchs because oligarchs run the Party apparatus here.

Hurt the oligarchs, kill the Party. Bottom line, if you are not a multibillionaire technocrat, you aren't represented. If you are, the politicians are your servants.

Then you are in the right place. A few decades ago, a branch of Operation Rescue was successfully sued by Planned Parenthood for the crime of hurting PP's business.

Through this injustice by the courts, the black robed tyrant ordered each of the defendants to pay a quarter million to PP in settlements. This is the equivalent of denying God and working directly for Satan. So they all said that they would only earn what the court would permit them to keep denying PP any money.

The defendants also said, that his action was liberating because they would never be distracted with thoughts of becoming wealthy. They could focus on the things that mattered in life.

I don't mind these special advisors (calling them Czars is a bit over the top, but whatever) in theory - having someone whose job is to stay up-to-the-minute updated because the President is busy with so many other plates in the air, okay fine.

The problem is that then they're given actual Executive Authority where none exists, and the Legislature is more interested in preserving the Power of the Party than it is in preserving its own power - so they never say "boo" about it.

To a degree, yes. People who prey on children for sexual gratification *should* be ostracized and cast out. Vengeance may be a factor, especially in the worse cases, but ultimately it is about protecting civilization. Those who prey on the innocent and get a sexual thrill from destroying their innocence need to be cast out. Jackson's interpretation of this isn't even entirely wrong, but her conclusion - that this is a bad thing and is unfair - is 180 degrees out of phase.

Yes. This is precisely right. It isn't the claim that's "unfair" but the conclusion. Jackson is good and right and to use a pejorative - that she is "soft on crime" - instead of a compliment - that she is "progressive and brave and fair" - is the problem.

Those in opposition are bad by definition and so any means are justified in stopping them. Those in alignment are good by definition and so any slight against them is evil.

Proof of thesis: **waves at everything**

Don't get me wrong, the Constitution is a magnificent document and *should* be the best governing document in the history of the (secular) world. But almost before the ink was dry, even some of those who wrote it were attempting to subvert it up to and including using arguments that boiled down to "don't listen to what I said then, listen to what I'm saying now."

This is the dark underbelly of race in America that I was naive about until a few years ago. And that dark underbelly is that (most?) black people have deeply seated hatred for this country. While I fully acknowledge we've had our share of a shameful past, I also fully acknowledge we've moved far beyond many of the atrocities that were faced by blacks. They will never see that. They will never move on. They are never given the opportunity to do so because it's steeped into the culture. I watched an old crime show a few days back. A black guy randomly shot and killed a white lady in Atlanta. When cops asked him why, he said America's illegitimate founding was based on a bloody history of conquest. And blacks are constantly mistreated. He was getting back at whites. Sad stuff.

It isn't just that this country is now an unlawful tyranny, though that would be enough. Practically, she's replacing Breyer. The balance is unchanged. She's more radical than Breyer and more sinister and evolved in her awfulness, but she changes nothing. I also suspect that's why she's going to be confirmed with 55 or more.

The real fight will be when Jarrett replaces Thomas, and that's a fight that will be lost. Most jurists suck and even the ones who look like they might become good conservative justices - like Roberts, for example, long long ago - usually immediately start maximizing state power and enjoying their roles as black-robed dictators. When we lose Thomas, it will be the end of even the mealy-mouthed lip service to judicial restraint or honesty.

Philosophically, Evil can never be defeated, because it is nigh-eternal (we can get into why it can't philosophically be eternal if we really want to, but I haven't had enough coffee for that).

Practically, Evil can and has been defeated - see also WWII and the War between the States (though I sort of think we threw the baby out with the bath water on that one) among others.

However, we as a people have become lazy, complacent, and far too comfortable and unwilling to suffer discomfort or deprivation of any significant amount. So, until the rubble stops bouncing, we're unlikely to find sufficient men of sufficient virtue to stop the unending tides of evil for our present time.

138 It's really only in the American context that "Constitution" refers to a piece of paper and only that piece of paper. That word used to refer to the entire edifice of government, and all of the rules and traditions underpinning it. "Make-up" might be a good synonym.

The Founders needed to codify the Constitution of their brand new government, and so out of necessity did it in a document. An entity which has never existed before can't have standing rules and traditions, and the principle of Law Not Men required an explicit stating of the new Law. Which is good and noble and necessary as it goes, but the non-paper Constitution of America that has been in construction since then has diverged from the original as-build drawings so much that the building is barely even recognizable anymore.

I think there's more to the story surrounding Thomas' sudden illness. The left has an opportunity to put two leftists on the bench if he's unable to resume or dies. That combined with the lackluster performance of "the Trump judges" puts SCOTUS way, way over to the left.

To be honest, SCOTUS probably prefers it that way.

141 This is the dark underbelly of race in America that I was naive about until a few years ago. He was getting back at whits. Sad stuff.

155 Got some friends and family of friends out there that have had stuff burn. It's tragic.

Tragic is a good word.

Luckily there's been minimal loss of human life - only 1 in the fire that levelled Carbon - but countless livestock, acres of crops (including feed for said livestock), and things folks don't think about burning - a friend of my cousin's was a self-employed tradesman (plumber, I think?) and not only lost his house, but his work truck and all of his tools. And insurance will only be able to replace a fraction, I'm sure, especially with costs rising like they are.

This part of the country is going to have a slow, rough recovery because these disasters hit at exactly the worst possible time: it's late in the season to re-plant (even if you have the equipment to do so), and the spring mating season is basically over. Add to that the cost of material, fuel, energy, and just general life - there are folks out here who simply won't have enough of a foundation to build back on.

180 Evil can't be defeated, but it must be fought, because it can be stopped, and beaten back. Read the Book of Daniel, we all know how this ends.

So you subscribe to Dominion Theology?

After many decades of flirting with every form of Biblical eschatology, while in the main sense I'm most comfortable with Reformed Amillenialism, Daniel was told to "close the book". John was told to "open the book" and yet his writings are suitable for all people, of all generations, cultures and time. Clearly the first three chapters describe very real first century assemblies, yet I'm not sure how the apocalyptic language is supposed to be read literally and thus transformed into a future Day Planner for the Reprobate.

The point being, I'm looking at Revelation as the greatest Post Modern writing that leaves the reader, no matter the hermeneutic, with the idea: "Don't overthrow the government - let God sort it out - He wins in the End".

I see a lot of people say there is no point in voting for Republicans because nothing will change and that's probably true if you vote for the same old Republicans.

But it completely ignores that Trump is fundamentally changing the Republican party by bringing a whole new slate of people into the party and increasingly into office. Like him or hate him there is no denying is the leader of the party right now and candidates across the country are battling for his endorsement as hard as for campaign cash because it is gold.

It isn't going to happen overnight but the party is definitely changing. Not all of the new people will be great, some are loose cannons and some will disappoint and there is a lot of dead wood to get rid of but the party is completely different than it was 8 years ago. We now argue about Trump vs DeSantis not McCain vs Romney. Not the same party at all.

208 CTH had a nice piece up about Zelenskyy's CNN Interview in which he said that the US privately told Ukraine they would not get into NATO, but asked that publicly they behave as if this was truly being considered. The connection is also drawn between that and the info given to Xi and China that Ukraine would be admtted.

There was also, in another piece, photos of military vehicles being housed in the shopping center that was "cruelly" targeted by Russia (before it opened).

Yeah, I think that Russian oligarchs are as shitty and European and American ones, as Asian ones for that matter, but there are few honest actors in this conflict. That includes "our side" in DC.

The way I figure it, Trump could try to reform the GOP - which has never worked, and will never work. He might, maybe, win the Presidency running as a Republican, but that would end up exactly how it did last time. A placeholder administration that gets completely sidelined by a Uniparty shadow government run out of Kalorama.

Or, he could run third-party and only endorse candidates who jump the GOP ship for his new thing. He'd be unlikely to win the Presidency again that way. It also wouldn't reform the GOP. But it *would* annihilate it. Finally. Doing that would be more valuable by an order of magnitude than sitting behind the Resolute Desk and getting pelted with shit while Valerie Jarrett keeps running the country for another four years.

Removing their co-conspirators from their fake-o governing structure would be a devastating body-blow to the Democrats. Killing the GOP would also allow a new national populist movement to fill the vacuum, a Party that actually represents some voters, somewhere. It's the right thing to do. And the historic thing to do. But I don't think Trump would consider it "winning," and won't go there. I wish he would.

It will never happen. Not today, not next century, never. They were right and just looking out for you. They weren't tyrants and you weren't correctly skeptical or righteously opposed. They weren't wrong. Ever.

You will get no apology. You will not get an acknowledgement of wrongdoing. You will not even get statement about how things "could have been handled better." No one will ever speak any single word that would even run the risk of identifying what they did or the humiliation they put you through. If you actually got the shots not because you wanted them but because they forced you to, you will get no apology for that, either. You will get no compensation if you were harmed by it.

We do not have the votes, we can argue about why that is, we can hate the weak GOPers, we can rage at their feckless behavior in the face of the absolute JIHAD posture they look past the left on on nominees, but we cannot really stop her because they do not want her stopped.

Hitting her too hard no matter how justified will give Mule-o a bloody shirt to wave.

The donk is shameless so they will pretend and the media will go along "that any attack on a nominee is unprecedented."

Until the media collusion with the communists is fixed there is no there there.

They'd get that fine. Asking a question like, "approximately how may is 16,160 out of 50,000" is where you'll get a wild guess. The number you're looking for is "32%" but when not dealing with even hundreds (or thousands, or millions, etc.), a lot of people will just pick a number out of the air. Looking at that and just doubling each number and dropping everything to the right of the comma requires that you be used to doing that, because most people haven't done it since grade school.

Like calculating a tip. Calculating 15% or 20% is hard, but calculating 10% is easy and deriving the next number is also easy. But if you're used to whipping out your phone or looking at the handy chart on the bottom of the receipt, it's hard to do. Even if you once knew how to do it (most do, unless they're going through school now), the skill atrophies if you don't use it. Most people don't need to use it, and so forget and then get rooked.

Hilariously, a good friend who is a prominent New Jersey Democrat now living in Florida just spent the last fifteen minutes telling me how he loves Florida, loves the freedom, loves the whole enchilada, and so when I said "hey, you should vote for DeSantis for President", he stopped talking, bewildered by his own enthusiasm. 336 So I just heard on the radio that a lot of the statues that were torn down by the BLM and antifa f*ckers are being carted around the country as "art" exhibits.

340 I often wonder what people like Fatima and Matthew Graves chat about at their cocktail parties, whence amongst friends. Or, after the party when it's just the two of them cleaning up. Oh who an I kidding, they have staff to clean up. Probably paid by our tax dollars some how.

341 Sex offender registries might actually violate the rights of the offender and encourage extra-judicial retaliation. I understand (duh!) why people make exceptions for sex offenders, but the punishment is supposed to be the punishment and when it's over its supposed to be over. If the judgement isn't long enough, then it should be longer, not farmed out to angry citizens. If we can justify keeping them in jail, keep them in jail.

Lets not confuse "what I really want because these people are monsters" with what the law or constitution allows.

I could be right about offender registries or wrong about offender registries, but that's the issue isn't it?, it's either I'm right or I'm wrong, objectively, and not that I'm (quite justifiably) angry enough.
