Incompetent Anti-American Secretary of State Tony Blinken Flip-Flops on Poland's Plan to Transfer All of Its MiG-29s to Ukraine
Bear in mind: Poland is a NATO member.
So this is a NATO member transferring warplanes to a country fighting a war with Russia.On Sunday, Blinken gave the "green light" for Poland, a NATO member, to transfer 28 Russian built but NATO-owned warplanes to Ukraine to fight Russia. But Poland insisted that the US and other NATO countries had to be involved in the transfer. Specifically, they wanted to fly the planes to the US base at Ramstein, Germany. There, Ukrainian pilots would collect them and fly them to the Ukraine. And now, after having signaled his support of a transfer, Blinken reverses himself and says "No."
Any supply of fighter jets to Ukraine must be done jointly by NATO countries, the Polish prime minister said on Wednesday, after Washington rejected Poland's offer to fly all its MIG-29 jets to a U.S. airbase with a view to them being given to Kyiv. Asked about the offer of Polish MIGs, the Kremlin described it as a potentially dangerous and undesirable scenario. read more Ukraine has pleaded with Western nations to provide it with fighter jets to counter a Russian invasion that has forced more than two million refugees to flee the country, and U.S. lawmakers have responded by pushing President Joe Biden's administration to facilitate the transfer of aircraft. On Tuesday, Poland said it was ready to deploy all its MIG-29 jets to Ramstein Air Base in Germany and put them at the disposal of the United States, urging other NATO members to do the same. The Pentagon later dismissed the offer as not "tenable".Now, why did Poland want to do it this way? Here's my speculation: Poland wanted the US involved because they feared a Russia attack if they supplied Ukraine with the jets. And they also feared the US would fail to come to their defense as Article 5 of the NATO charter demands we must. You know, because America is Back, Baby! Because Biden has totally regained the trust of the world. So they wanted the US directly involved in this operation so that the US would have ownership of it and could not walk away from it if Russia attacked Poland. So that the US could not claim, "Poland in effect attacked Russia by transferring those planes without NATO's blessing, so in effect Poland was the first attacker, Russia was counter-attacking, not attacking, and therefore Article 5 does not apply and we do not owe collective self-defense action to Poland." And I think that's exactly the reason Blinken refused to be part of Poland's transfer scheme -- because he wanted the ability to walk away from the scheme and claim that Poland's transfer severed the US's obligation to come to their aid. Blinken wanted Poland to act "unilaterally," so that the US would not have to back Poland's play if things went sideways. And what are the odds that things would go sideways under Brandon...? So Poland is not going forward with the transfer. They know that Biden and Blinken are untrustworthy c*cksuckers. I don't think that we should risk WWIII by getting directly involved with transferring warplanes to Ukraine while they're fighting Russia. But put that aside for the moment. If my analysis is right, and it sure seems right, it would mean that Biden and Blinken were once again encouraging a Eastern European ally to get into a war with Russia while also making sure we had no obligation to back them in that war. Once again getting a country "a little bit pregnant with war" and then walking away. They've been doing that forever. They did that with Ukraine originally in 2014. They cheered on the Maidan Revolution, encouraged Ukraine to take a defiant no-compromises position with Russia, suggesting we had their back in the fight that would follow, and then we... disappeared. Left them to twist in the red wind. It's the Obama/Biden tradition. Why do we keep doing this? Why do we keep baiting our allies to get into fights they can't win, falsely promising we will support them in wars we have no intention of supporting them in? America's Back, Baby! The Adults Are in Charge Again! But don't worry-- Biden's sent his Number One Fixer and Miracle Worker over there to smooth this all out.

One point I want to add is that it is widely assumed that one of Putin's goals is to weaken NATO. That can best be done by dividing them and creating a scenario where one country gets involved in the war, and the US refuses to invoke article 5.
So I don't fault Poland since they are basically asking for a guarantee up front to prevent that. And I don't blame the US, since it is better to back out before doing so would destroy NATO.
Now, I am all for giving Ukraine defensive weapons. I think that can be done with justification. Migs are another matter. So it is pretty complicated and we don't have all the information, but they sure are making a hash out of the public back and forth bullshit.

Apparently, then, behind the scenes, there was some diplomatic work between the countries, and the US must have said well you are going to do this, or else. Or else what, I don't know.
But Poland then came out and said tell you what, we will give our jets to the US, and you can do with them what you want.
Suddenly, the US is not so hot on the idea. Wow, this could cause an escalation! Really? What was your first clue, genius?

Here's my speculation: Poland wanted the US involved because they feared a Russia attack if they supplied Ukraine with the jets. And they also feared the US would fail to come to their defense as Article 5 of the NATO charter demands we must.

The eugyppius substack is pretty good. My main critique of him is that he doesn't think there's any overarching globalist conspiracy/deep state, but he may get to that point if he keeps travelling down the red pill road. It's shocking to me that a supposed German bureaucrat is so based.

I just had a similar feeling today when the Russian Spokeslady comes out today and points right at the US and says" we have your biological weapons. We've got your chemical weapons" And then Putin accuses the US of violating the world treaty on biologicals and chemicals weapons from the '70s and says we should be taken the World court for that.
And I thought; what if the rest of the world agrees and allies together to land an assault on the US for being a War Criminal Regime. Could some of us really say they don't have the right? Could we then fight and lose and become called War Criminals and punished as Germany was? How does it feel to realize that we could be the Bad Guys here? And that the War Criminals in DC have gotten us to this point but we're the ones who will pay?

Polish cops are kind of a trip. They have a lot of regular cops, like here. But they also have these federal cops, hardcore guys. This is my recollection from 20 years ago, and this might have changed.
Anyway, these federal cops were always huge - I think they select for size and strength. And they wore tactical gear, and had these giant nightsticks, like 3' long. But they would ride around on Vespas. The first time I saw it, I thought I was hallucinating.

This current US admin isn't able to understand this...but you are getting sense now how pathetic Russian conventional military might and strategy is - you don't threaten nukes if you have it all in a sock as far as your ground forces go. We saw this in the 80's and I think Reagan and his staff understood it as well.

There's plenty of evidence that could be shown that it might not have been China that released the covid virus. At best it might have been a collusion of the two for whatever reason. I'm sure that China could show that they only were a supplier of a place to do the research and did not share the decision to release it.
And even if it wasn't released on purpose we still share a majority of the blame for it's existence (surprised that isn't brought up) and the sloppiness that caused it's release.

However if have to keep cycling those tires and also to keep them out of the sun because the special rubber degrades. Lots of his trucks got stuck in the mud, the tires side walls all split. Our deep state bureaucracy isn't that much worse if at all that some of our so called allies who have been stabbing us in the back for years and hated Trump. Look how NATO and the EU swooned when Biden got back in. They didn't care that he was a corrupt dunce, he was one of them and wouldn't rock the boat.
Trump was actually a lot more popular overseas than our garbage media would have us believe. There are millions of normal people like us all over the world who are equally sick of their corrupt governments running the world into the ground.
One of my favorite parts of Trump's foreign policy was that it didn't rely on massive world kumbaya moments to respond to every single thing going on in the world. Trump made it know that he cared about America's interest and he didn't give a wet fart about anyone else's plans and he would do whatever it took to defend America and her interests. It worked great.

After the Soviet Union collapsed and we were able to send military people into former Warsaw Pact Countries we found out that they were literally a paper tiger. Tens of thousands of tanks and IFV's on paper but only a fraction of them were capable of being deployed for combat. Also stores of ammunition, fuel and food were woefully inadequate for any sustained combat ops. And less than 10% of their military personnel were adequately trained,, the rest were 1 year conscripts with no real training.

The Russian's thought they'd take Kiev in three days. They thought they'd blitzkrieg their way across the country and destroy the Ukrainian military. Instead, their convoys are bogged down, their troops lack food and fuel and ammunition, and the Ukrainians are still fighting. Believe me, this is a conventional disaster for the Russian military, who don't have many more troops to send. The sanctions and subsequent crashing of the Russian economy threaten Putin's survival as leader, which is why I'm worried he might use nukes.

Interesting nic. I got banned from Russia Today because I called Putin that in a comment. I didn't mean it in a mean way it just rhymed.
So I email them and ask why and that's what they told me. I didn't bother to tell them that I didn't mean it in a bad way.
Still haven't got banned from Twitter. But I'm not trying very hard.

No.
Poland doesn't want a direct flight from Poland to Ukrainian AFBs to reinforce the Ukranian AF because that is a direct hostile act. They want that to come from the US Air base instead, so that if the Russians retailate it doesn't hit them.
In no case were missions to be flown to attack Russian forces from Polish bases or Ramstein. That would be an act of war right there.

I disagree. The are pretending to be the old Cold Warriors to gain our support - I was one, at least as best you can be as a civilian. They aren't following the rules of the cold war, they are faking it from Hollywood movies.

Poland's offer wasn't serious. It was a sarcastic slap-back at Blinken's generous offer to get Polish pilots killed. That's why Poland didn't "Consult".
But the Junta and the Uni-Party War Press spent all day pretending it was a serious offer rather than acknowledging the insult. What a farce.
BTW, Ukraine has plenty of planes already. They can't fly because of Russian Air Defense Systems. Those systems must be very good because Obama had Russia supply them to his Ayatollah for his nuke factories.

Of course Poland is not going to do that. Neither is any other European member of NATO if they know what's good for them.
This has happened before. When Russia attacked Georgia, Turkey would neither intervene militarily nor allow us to come in through Turkey's waterway.
I see nothing wrong with Russia insisting on a "Monroe doctrine" within the former Soviet Union.
