Governor Youngkin Will Sign Mask-Optional Law This Afternoon

Election Wizard
@ElectionWiz

RICHMOND, Va. (7News) -- Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin is expected to sign a bill allowing parents to opt out of school mask mandates on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, a Los Angeles County Supervisor is suddenly "following the changed science" and asking for mask mandates to be lifted -- given the grotesque spectacle of everyone at the Super Bowl being unmasked, while children continue to be forced to wear masks.

Note that the state has lifted mask mandates but LA County, Virtue Signaling Capital of the World, still imposes them.

Janice Hahn
@SupJaniceHahn

I want to follow the State's lead and lift the mask mandates.

I believe we are beginning to lose the trust of the people. We already saw thousands of people flagrantly violate LA County's mask mandate at the Super Bowl.

The Science (TM) has changed, you see.

And so have The Optics (TM).

And so have The Attack Ads (TM).

Incredibly, LA County is maintaining the charade -- they'll require proof of vaccination or a negative covid antigen test the Super Bowl victory rally.

After allowing 100,000 people to ignore the rules at the Super Bowl.

Biden's Covid Surrender Squad announces "we're moving towards a time when Covid isn't a crisis," and says that Brandon and his crack team, one of whom actually funded the virus's creation, is "planning for this future."

He also claims they've had "progress."

This is the Tepid Pivot. They're not telling Karen to grow up and drop the Identity Hysterics yet, but are signaling that some time in the future, they might.

Maybe.

Depending on the polls.

Yes, the independents have turned against the Covid Hysterics on this point but Brandon only cares about his hardcore bitter-enders, the 30% of the country that is loyal to him no matter what. Only when they begin to shift will The Science (TM) change even more and permit a return to pre-covid life.

39 President Joe Biden's federal mask rule for air travel is "irrational," Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said Tuesday from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, after announcing the state's record-breaking domestic tourism numbers in 2021.

Florida saw roughly 118 million domestic visitors last year, the governor announced, pointing to the trend of Americans fleeing blue states with heavy-handed coronavirus restrictions. As a result, the state saw its highest hotel revenue ever in history -- $17.3 billion. And last year, the total passengers at Florida's 19 airports went up 80 percent compared to 2020. DeSantis said he believes that figure would grow even more if Biden got rid of the mask mandate on airplanes.

Yeah. The Global Warming thing actually lost all its momentum when that came out. Most scientists just assumed their colleagues were doing good work and the data was solid. Most people figured the scientists knew what they were talking about. After all Al Gore's presentation seemed so good.

Then the facts came out and the scientists who were not directly involved peeled away and started distancing themselves and the mojo was gone.

I don't think my company will ever drop it. Obedience muzzles forever. For a very short period last year, the injected caste was allowed to parade around without their obedience muzzles and openly sneer at the untouchables beneath them. But I guess some karen complained and even that was stopped. So the current rule is unless you are a manager with your own office all the lower caste have to wear their slave markings.

81 45 This is why Brandon is so great for Republicans. Any halfway decent politician would have gotten out in front of this wave, at least a little, and gave a big speech explaining the pivot. That would benefit him both by making him look like a leader and helping to keep the party in line. But Brandon can't do this, he can barely do anything.

This is what I can't wrap my head around, that Biden's handlers are so incompetent at basic politics. Did you see Biden's Sec. of Education tweeted out one of the great things about teaching was seeing children smile (yes, he did!) and promptly got ten million pictures of kids in masks and snarky comments about "how can you tell?" This is all politics 101, and they completely suck at it. If the GOP does take Congress this year, it won't be because they are great (as we all know, they are idiots) but because the Biden people are just so freaking bad. Any one with sense, in late Jan/early Feb when Omicron died down, would have declared victory and moved on, it's just nuts.

Instead, he has none. All three were disasters. He's simply going to declare COVID over, try to claim that a foreign policy victory over Russia, and that despite horrific inflation the economy is somehow recovering.

There was some Asian guy recently -- school administrator or some such -- who was talking about how even though masks were useless for kids, it was good practice for toddlers to wear them so they'll be more compliant when they get to grade school.

You know, that is a damned good idea. I've stopped going into local stores because the governor punted and left it up to towns, and all of the Karen infested towns in this county voted mandates in. I figured not buying anything local was the best I could do, but this is much better. This is a direct in your face "you lost my sale", that eventually will get back to the local select boards, particularly if they start to notice the decrease in the local option sales tax. Ellipses, it has to do with difference in short term and long term opinions. Operant conditioning experiments by Skinner and the like on animals, found you can create long lasting behavioral patterns if you carefully set the stimuli correctly. The problem though is when you want to change long lasting behavioral patterns by adding new stimuli. A lot harder to do in a directed manner than to create a preference in the first place. From what I remember, the stimuli trying to create new patterns to replace the old results in breaking a certain number of subjects.

One of the chimp astronaut was thoroughly conditioned to do tasks by getting rewards via food for right actions and shocks for wrong actions. In space, something got fouled up and the chimp was getting shocks randomly regardless of correct or incorrect behavior. The chimp went nuts and destroyed the cabin-even pulling out his catheter painfully.

Diktats are easy - keeping a society going that depends on people doing good things when nobody is looking is a lot harder. They may get surface compliance, but what work do you get out of people with a whip? Every society has found that slaves are 'dumb', get confused, break things 'accidentally'...what are you going to do when programmers start to do this?

294 32 This just pisses me off. Science does not change. PERIOD.

The only thing that changed is them admitting that they were making policy based on FEAR, and not FACT.
____________

Yep, there was never any legit science that said masks prevent people from getting/transmitting the virus.

In fact, scientists who can measure things have known all along that the tiny virus was small enough to penetrate through the openings in the weaves of all the cloth and paper masks, even when the masks were worn correctly, which they seldom were.

But the governments kept insisting on the masks because they enjoyed the exercise of power, and the Karens kept insisting on the masks because they needed to feel that something was being done to protect them from this thing that scared them so. It didn't matter that masks don't actually provide protection. It was the illusion of security that mattered to them. They needed masks for the same reason that Linus always needed his dirty baby blanket.

I think it bears remembering that in our real world example we are talking about higher order animals (barely) that havent been programmed through *direct* stimulation. They have been guided and cajoled through tried and true misdismal methods.

They, like all humans, have an immense ability to rationalize, and that is what will be exploited as they are encouraged to adapt to whatever the next thing is, whether it's horn honkers or plastic straws.

What has been revealed more than anything in these subjects is a willingness to follow authority without question, and to then to eventually substitute oneself for that authority when allowed - which is as big a dopamine hit as any monkey treat.

Shane, it is the leaders that have gone insane and are finishing breaking institutions that they cannot govern without.

The wise people, after the initial shock, are using Irish democracy tactics, and those that do, find a lot of subversive approval from others not so brave.

362 FWIW, just spoke to a friend who went shopping across the line in Los Algodones, Mexico. A year ago, Canadians who walked across the border from the U.S. were not allowed to return to the USA, and had to find transport to Mexico City, fly home to Canada, and then fly back to AZ to get their vehicles and stuff. Yesterday? Over and back, no questions asked by U.S. Customs staff.

494 Ukraine situation is real and won't go away by itself. Unless Russia gives up its serious if debatable insistence on a finlandized (more/less) Ukraine. "Invasion" in the general sense has never been a likely move by Russia, limited incursions more likely.

I know this is like pointing out reality like RCTs and obvious lack of any correlation in outcomes to debunk COVID "policies" - boring - but it's the case.

Fortunately Ukraine not very important for the US, or even Europe really. Iran and China remain the real issue, and there the damage being done by the idiot children is real, and spectacular.

495 I've never followed any of the bullshit "guidelines". Other than having been held hostage to the whims of our betters and losing 3/4 of my family to this travesty, nothing is different. I'm amongst the public almost every day and I have not contracted nor transmitted the coof. YMMV.

498 The Ozone hole is tough because it hasn't actually been studied that long, so there's not a lot of data on it or what it even is for or how it occurs. Scientists seem confident that its a naturally occuring seasonal phenomena, opening and closing over time, like the earth is breathing or something.

The only question is whether it was bigger than normal or dangerously so, and whether that was in any way influenced somehow but chemicals used in the northern hemisphere.

Me, I'm skeptical.

I think a lot of the people who are fully committed to masks and vaxx and isolating are also fully committed to abortion: if you are willing to kill to assure a lifestyle, then there is nothing too steep to assure that they can stay alive.

Although it is not published anywhere (besides the usual unreliable sources) the word is that Adm Michael Rogers (who was in charge of NSA) told incoming President Trump all about what was going on, as he did not approve. Rogers left NSA and retired from the Navy in 2018.

510 Shane, it is the leaders that have gone insane and are finishing breaking institutions that they cannot govern without.

The wise people, after the initial shock, are using Irish democracy tactics, and those that do, find a lot of subversive approval from others not so brave.

True to some extent (my definition of clinically insane is likely much more stringent than most) -- and it's 99% among so-called "leaders."

It's beyond mere ignorance and irrational fear for the vast majority of the world to allow themselves to be injected, and multiple times at that, with a non-clinically-trialed and studied over time experimental "vaccine" (primarily a new gene therapy) -- for a virus which had virtually zero mortality rate among those without comorbidities. That degree of perverting self-preservation is insane ...
