Justin Castreau's State Police End Peaceful Protests at Ambassador Bridge

The Ambassador Bridge is open again after a vaccine mandate protest prompted a blockade, pausing traffic on a key international land port and costing millions of dollars in lost production.
The Detroit International Bridge Company announced Sunday night that the Ambassador Bridge is fully open allowing free flow of commerce between Canada and the United States.
The weeklong protest was started by truckers in opposition to COVID-19 vaccine mandates and other quarantine requirements, but early Sunday police said it ended after negotiations and multiple arrests. Despite the supposed peace talks, about a dozen protesters remained at an intersection close to the bridge into Sunday evening, waving flags and occasionally cheering.
Windsor Police Sgt. Steve Betteridge said Sunday afternoon that "about 15" people were arrested over the weekend and police towed "seven or eight" vehicles. Most of those arrested face a charge of mischief.

Michigan's loathsome witch, who supported the BLM and antifa riots that inflicted billions of dollars of damage on the country, now says, with a glint of sadism in her misshapen smile, that she will not permit protests that harm the economy, which are not be carried out by constituent groups of the Democrat Party.

"We have to make sure that people understand if you're going to do something illegal and create damage in the economy we won't let it stand, no matter what the cause or what the substance of the debate is," Whitmer said. "If you're going to unlawfully block international trade, it will not stand."

Meanwhile, the Canadian Broadcast Company finds a new word to be "problematic" and to have Nazi sympathies -- "Freedom."

If they follow the playbook, the next step will be pressuring social media companies to label the world "freedom" with cautions, disclaimers, advisories, and arguments about why The Science (TM) says it's not that great.

Note that CNN never expressed any doubt that the nihilistic violence and arson and murder perpetrated by their political allies antifa and BLM were actually being done to "fight white supremacy" and to "fight fascism." There was no "in the guise" of talk there, nor any "whatever that means" caveats.

Meanwhile, this is the sort of crazed lunatic insurrectionist that CNN's mis-, dis-, and mal- information is inciting to violence: this crazed bitch repeated rams the an SUV in Canberra, Australia, merely for having the signage of that country's local Freedom Convoy, and taunts her that she can get away with it, "because the government doesn't care about people like you."

I doubt that. That would precipitate too much trouble and might break them if they try it. They're going to put up with this action from truckers for the next several years. I strongly suspect they're banking not on nationalization or an escalation of that type, but on automation (self-driving trucks) with gigantic subsidies for the big shipping lines to convert quickly.

The leader of the NDP says that he supports the use of the Emergency Act. I think that, plus the Liberal (Trudeau's) Party votes gives a majority. But I don't understand Canadian government and don't know what the role the Senate has -- maybe the Senate could delay things?

From the Trucker press conference it seems that it might be possible to delay the vote in deliberations for a few weeks.

Those owners are given an ultimatum to move their equipment far away from the highways and if they don't, the cops are sabotaging the equipment to make sure it can't be used to add to the protest. This is not equipment actively part of the action, just equipment nearby.

Prior to Omnicron someone FOIA's the CDC which admitted they had *0* confirmed cases of someone getting COVID twice. Which...makes sense.

Omicron has mutated enough that it is likely possible people are getting second infections though it is generally more likely that the test results for round 1 or 2 were false as the tests are unreliable.

it does not matter what BLM did or did not do vis a vis the trucker convoy. Peaceful protests are protected speech, but if a protest is causing untold economic harm, effectively becoming a "blockade", then it's pretty easy to say, with evidence, that it's no longer "peaceful". The same could be said for BLM in the specifc locations where it got violent, and police did take efforts to shut down the spots where BLM got out of hand.

The truckers in Ottawa are 100% peaceful and justified. The ones blockading a bridge to stifle economic activity are not. Flame suit on.

Nausea was a Covid symptom first time around. I think. That's really the only symptom my mother had.

Strep used to be my hobby as a kid/teen. Freaking weird. Didn't have much in the way of symptoms other than fatigue and sore-ish throat. Sometimes a temp.

This gets into an historical grey area. In many countries farmers have driven their tractors to the capitol to block traffic and jam things up in protest. In other cities mass transit is shut down, or garbage piled up as "job actions."
It is not a total blockade, and economic disruption is considered a legit job action, so I'm not so sure.

The difference with the lefty protests is that they would do it randomly to commuters with a terroristic intent. (Including often attacking the cars.) so not really a comparison.
