Rachel Maddow announces hiatus to... work on a film with Ben Stiller.

Rachel Maddow reportedly will go on hiatus from her primetime talk show on MSNBC to focus on movie and podcast projects, including a film directed by Ben Stiller.

Maddow told staffers at the left-leaning, Comcast-owned network that she will step aside for a few weeks to devote time to her side projects, Business Insider reported on Monday.

She is expected to announce the move to viewers during Monday night's broadcast.

Maddow will executive produce a Focus Features movie based on her book and podcast, "Bag Man," about a political bribery scandal.

I wish the two of them every failure and heartbreak. Fuck them blind.

CBS Mornings declares that Joe Rogan doesn't have "the right to a platform as large as Spotify."

So, you know -- Cancel Away! The Constitution kind of wants you to!

Apparently the NPC programming update went out, because CNN's Oliver Darcy agrees too -- Joe Rogan is not entitled to be on Spotify.

And he says that CNN is entitled to be on the airwaves, because they do verify all the " " " facts " " " they " " " report. " " "

Um:

The left now realizes that everyone not on the left hates cancel culture and considers them toxic bullies. But they love cancelling people. So their new trick is to try to cancel people and then claim they're not trying to cancel anyone. Here a leftwing professor posts the names of Joe Rogan's sponsors -- I'm sure this professor will claim he's not trying to cancel Rogan.

Twitchy wants to know how bad the upcoming jobs numbers for January will be-- because Jen Psaki is offering the insane spin that "a lot of people called out of work" in January due to Omicron.

Note, calling out of work sick does not affect your employment status, but Psaki is trying to spin the stupid (and willing to lie) media that it does.

They kept it mostly hidden. Behind all sorts of other groups or opinions.

But they've always really been the Tories. They are the anti revolutionaries. They want the US to be the Colonies again.
With Slavery, and feudalism, the Monarchy. All of the stuff the other commonwealths now share. Only with them in charge.

That's the key there. With THEM in charge. And by In Charge I mean in control of every thing and if you don't agree why they'll have large plantations for you to go work at. Or mines if you're really a prick.

It really is shocking how further back in time they'd like the country to regress.

I applaud Spotify for standing strong as long as they did. I first started noticing the pressure getting really heavy about six months ago, so, give or take... that's about five months, twenty-nine days, and twenty three hours longer than a fascist American company (BIRM) would have defended their on-air talent.

But it's very clear that the Party means business now, and they aren't going to take "no" for an answer.

Spotify will fold soon. I have no doubt whatsoever. They are going to have to give the Party its pound of flesh.

At this point, I'm mostly curious about Rogan's next move. Will he knuckle under and denounce himself, or leave Spotify (and millions of dollars) behind?

68 Eh, I wrote it up, might as well unwillow it...

Blago - I know we are at the end of the thread so you probably won't see this, but your friend is wrong in one way. Trump didn't win by double digits, but he did win by a significant margin in most states. For example, he won by 2% in Arizona.

The Arizona audit is the key to understanding it, because of what the Audit was not allowed to look at, the signature matching on the mail-in ballots.

The state election apparatus in many states were sending real-time early voting information and voter lists to Democrat front groups. These front groups were then mailing in ballots for voters who were unlikely to vote.

Signature matching in states was essentially turned off to allow these votes into the system. Once the canvas was complete, those votes were going to be counted. Which is why the audit turned up minor discrepancies. The ballots matched the counts.

What no one is allowed to look at is were the votes actually cast by the voter on record. Some people have been polling on this issue and finding that the number of people who claim to have voted is considerably less than the number of votes.

115 Dave that's all good stuff, but there's going to have to be at least some completed, documented and indisputable particular examples of such fraud, or this whole thing remains in the amorphous margins of lots of smoke, but no documented fire.

And I think the mechanics vary quite a bit from state to state. NV (Clark) - apparently complete (effectively) disabling of ballot verification. WI - absentee ballots. PA - not sure. GA - obviously the whole works, from tainted harvesting and drop boxes to actual Dominion issues to the unexplained shenanigans at the Atlanta center. MI - not just the standard Wayne County atrocity, which puts clumsy Third World strongmen to shame, but also big tabulation issues.

The American system has always had a lot of "slop" in it on the election process operational level - this is one reason for the electoral college, it dampens the effects of this, at least nationally. But when the system can be exploited and abused by several key states in a (relatively) close election .... it all collapses, in terms of integrity.

Exactly. Rogan interviewed them. I watched both interviews and at no time did Rogan espouse anything they taught him as his own view. He was more like, "Wow! Really? How come nobody knows that?"

But CNN knows this. They can't have someone with an audience provide other viewpoints. It makes them look bad. It makes them look....partisan.

BTW, the gay friend of Eve seemed somehow recognizable to me -- so as is my wont, I stopped the movie and looked him up on ImDB. It was actor Dave Foley who played the young Station Manager on News Radio (one of my faves -- a YUGE fan of Phil Hartman, may he R.I.P.).

Anyway, when looking at the cast of News Radio (wifey had never seen and persuading her that we should revisit it), who in the hell do I see as a cast member but one Joe Rogan! I (assuming it's the same guy -- since he had hair back then) didn't realize he played the sports reporter Joe Garrelli.

143 Bonhomme, your best bet is to look up loading specs from a place like Speer pr Horniday. The best advice is to build a load and buy the correct powder instead of using a marginal powder that you happen to have. (that is what the pros say and they have the experience of getting things wrong)

Mike your bullets to see what the actual size is, and make the determination to size or not based on that.

The bullet you are looking at will probably need lubing, so look at those instructions too, if you are going to do a really big run because that is your competition rifle or your general plinker, they make a nice efficient ram luber, though if you are just going to do a run of 20 or so, you can stand the bullets in a tray and melt and solidfy lube around them, and use an empty brass with the head cut off to make a punch to pop the bullets out. The lube rammer is spendy but easier.

George C Nonte made some very good books on handloading, especially for working up new loads.

179 Rhomboid - If you are asking for proof that will stand up in court, it isn't likely to happen.

What is happening is that the states that were bitten by this have cleaned up their election law (which is why the Dems are trying so hard to get their election "reform" law).

Several states (I don't have the off the top of my head) have banned providing voter data to outside organization during the voting periods.

And most of the election law changes that have had people up in arms have been over mail-in ballots.

Florida tightened up mail-in voting, Georgia is strictly regulating dropboxes, Pennsylvania mail-in voting sunsetted when Wolf's emergency powers expired, Virginia now strictly limits mail-in votes to requested ballots. I think there are another half dozen states that have tightened things. Of course, Nevada and California made mail-in fraud easier, unsurprisingly.

At this point, everyone involved in the process knows exactly how the fraud occurred. Most states are trying to prevent a repeat, some states are trying to enshrine it.

196 ShainS a long boring discussion for here, but I'm talking about documented individual cases of fraud - not macro-level things like the Maricopa audit found (these are clouds of black smoke indicating fire, but "fire" in this case are a few dozen fraudulent individual ballots, proven beyond doubt, and hopefully with some systematic fingerprints in their creation).

In a way, what Braynard did, almost alone, using only public info, in a week or so after the election, should have been enough to throw everything into a seizure and crisis - thousands of dead, under-aged, or out-of-state ballots counted (he did NV and GA, think he's doing more).

No magic dirt here. US looks exactly like a shambling Third World hellhole in many respects, thanks to the character of many Americans and the collapse of institutions.

My understanding is that in every locale essentially you lost control of the ballots, and you had no traceable means to audit if a ballot was good or not. Therefore, when someone like Maher says the election wasn't stolen, because there was no proof; Maher also cannot say Biden won, because he cannot prove that Biden's ballots were legit. And of course, though we doubt it would matter, can you verify California, Oregon or Washington's ballot counts either.

This is what 2020 showed us. The elite have been gaming the process for a long time. Every state should be required to be able to audit their results. Take a look at a state with rock solid processes - like Indiana, which was sued and won years ago at SCOTUS. Yeah, a rogue judge can keep a polling place open, but that doesn't move many ballots.

244 All ballots need a way for the voter to verify their vote. And a means for the voter to receive a receipt of the vote and that they voted.

There needs to be a state wide check on only unique names. On duplicates when they register they will receive a number so that two people can't vote under the same name/address.

The voter needs a way to know that their vote was counted.

These are all possible. They've not been implemented because the parties would rather have the option to cheat. Think that the GOP doesn't cheat? Think again. It's just not a blatant or in the same offices as the Democrats.

272 I watched my summer-job reenactor-group sergeant making Minie balls for a live-shoot he'd arranged for us with our 1857 Enfields and it was simple. Just melt the lead using a suitably-sized ladle and a hot-plate -- lead has a low meltpoint -- and pour it into the mold; wait a few minutes till it's cooled sufficiently and pop open the mold.

Here's a photo of a Minie mold like the one I saw being used.

He had been a reporter covering the last gas chamber execution in Oregon and got a tour ahead of time, and asked the photographer to snap a photo while the guide had his back turned.
Mom would not let him hang it in the house, so it was hung above the door of the fruit room for years.

I love bands that create their own sound-world, and FM's unique combination of pop, symphonic prog, space prog, new wave and jazz fusion, played with idiosyncratic instrumentation (violin, mandolin, keys, bass, bass pedals and percussion - no guitars) just does it for me.

Great tunes, killer hooks, virtuoso musicianship, an epic title track that still leaves me breathless after all these years. It's the best, eh?

388 All ballots need a way for the voter to verify their vote.

443 The Great Lakes Ore boats of the 20th century were basically a flat bottomed barge with crew accommodation and control platform on the bow and an engine and crew accommodation at the stern.

The hull is single with minimal reinforcing and only a few solid bulkheads in the hold. What this means is that in normal Lakes weather the waves are small enough not to be a problem. Even so you can stand at the bow and watch the entire hull flex as it goes over a wave.

Now imagine 6-20 waves. Not all that unusual on Lake Superior as there is a heck of a long fetch as the lake runs west to east. This mean any sort of storm wind can raise some very large waves.

And because the shore is close north and south, the waves are chaotic in some places and in others they are rhythmic. This causes metal fatigue over the years when the weather turns bad which is from about September to December or so. The lakes can freeze so they lay them up for the winter but try to get as many loads south and east as they can. Thus the loss of an Ore boat just about every year prior to the 60s.

If you think you aren't, look at what that link brings up - the twitter page, with a big honkin popup in the middle demanding a login, OR REGISTER FOR A TWITTER ACCOUNT (whick enriches Jack!) in order to see the tweet.

Bitch about GOPe cucks, then turnaround and bend over for a guy who hates your guts.
