Gird. Your. Loins.: Rachel Maddow Claims That Biden Heroically Stood at the Podium for One Hour and Fifty Minutes to... Send a Powerful Signal to Vladimir Putin That He Was Strong And Had Stamina for the Long War Ahead

Remember when I said the only thing the left could find to praise in Biden's press conference was its duration? (Which wasn't even all that long?)

Well, Maddow decided to take the leftist meme of the night and go insane with it -- as usual -- and link it to MuhRussia -- as usual -- and claim that Biden stood there and took questions for a full 110 minutes just to send an unmistakable signal to Putin that he was ready for a push-up contest with nuclear missiles if Vladdy wanted one.

This isn't Trump's America anymore, Vlad! Poppa Biden's gonna show you how he took care of business with Corn-Pop!

"With all the talk about Putin and him talking about ... the question of whether Putin is going to invade Ukraine might ... be decided by which side of the bed Putin wakes up on -- and all this stuff about trying to get Putin's head. One part of me wondered if he was trying to sort of ape Putin's annual press conference thing where he does these sort of feats of strength. He does these feats of stamina showing how long that he can continue to go taking these questions. So that was part of it," Maddow said.

You all heard Biden give Putin the go-head for a "just the tip" "minor incursion" into Ukraine.

Rachel Maddow, on the other hand, saw Biden deliver a "Tear down this wall" challenge.

Sounds like Rachel's girding her own loins for a man for the first time in her life.

Speaking of overpromoted coozes: Kamala Harris. I will take Kamala Harris' side 100% non-ironically and say absolutely, the old white man who is her boss-puppet emphatically did not position her for success, because she had to go out on TV shows and explain whether Biden did or did not believe that the midterm elections would be illegitimate.

Because Kamala Harris didn't know the answer -- I mean, does Biden actually know what Biden thinks? Did Ron Klain tell him what Biden thinks? -- she had to do what Kamala always does, dodge the question by filling up the air with nonsensical babblings.

And when that doesn't work, she gets, what is the word?

Bitchy. She gets bitchy.

Which is what her nasty senile boss does, too.

What?

On one hand, I concede that she's been put in a difficult situation by a feebleminded moron, but on the other hand, she dodges questions by babbling incoherently so often that you'd think she'd be better at it by now.

itistimeforustodo.jpg

She's lifting from Kramer.

Jen Psaki was also in a difficult spot, and so she decided, as Kalama Harris might say, that it was time to do what we have been doing, which was aggressively, bitchily lying.

She claimed repeatedly that Brandon did not say what he plainly said about the midterms being illegitimate if he wasn't allowed to rig them like he rigged the 2020 elections -- even after a reporter read back Brandon's words to her, verbatim.

Joe Concha
@JoeConchaTV

Here’s what Biden said yesterday: "The increase in the prospect of (future elections) being illegitimate is in direct proportion to us not being able to get these (voting) reforms passed." How else can this be interpreted?

It can be interpreted as "Orange Man Bad, 2020 Elections Perfect, seditious conspiracy to question them, 2022 elections... we'll see. We'll see."

Returning to Rachel Maddow's insensate claim that Brandon's press conference intimidated Putin rather than emboldening him: Weird, the State Department doesn't agree, because they lit up reporters' email to clean up Brandon's open invitation for a "minor incursion" in Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine sure didn't think that Brandon was challenging Putin to a Festivus Feats of Strength, either. He seemed to think that Brandon had all but clipped the barbed wire to help Putin start his invasion:

Screenshot (1304).png

Was the plan always to supplement Brandon's Show of Force -- by merely standing and talking for almost two hours, you know, like you do at any cocktail party -- with an urgent WH press release that contradicted his statement that a minor incursion would be permitted?

Biden's handlers do not understand the psychological impact of dispatching his flacks to insist the senile old man didn't say any of the things he clearly said in his dumpster fire press conference. They're on the verge of turning low poll numbers into national panic.

Screenshot (1305).png

Yeah, I'm all out of F's to give about Ukraine. I don't like this corrupt country meddling in our elections on the Democrats' side as if we're some backwater third-world shithole.

We are that, of course, thanks to Obama and the left, but I don't like this pissant country taking advantage of our temporary embarrassment.

45 The plan is to let Russia invade eastern Ukraine as a demonstration of force, then "negotiate" its withdrawal.

Only when the Russians don't play along and instead either a) take Kiev and install a puppet government, or b) simply carve off the eastern portion of the country, the Biden admin will flail and likely get us drawn further in. I could see the Russians shooting down US transports, with the US response resulting in an air and naval battle in either the Baltic or Black seas.

Posted by: But of course, what would you expect from a Biden anyway? at January 20, 2022 04:28 PM (FOSUO)

82 At least Biden is fully consistent and non-contradictory. Like how Russia's control of the European energy supply doesn't matter until our energy policy should guard against it.

for example, everybody talks about how Russia has control over the energy supply that Europe absorbs. Well, guess what? That -- that money that they earn from that makes about 45 percent of the economy. I don't see that as a one-way street. They go ahead and cut it off -- it's like my mother used to say: "You bite your nose off to spite your face." It's not like they have all these wonderful choices out there.

{five minutes later}

And I think there's ways in which we can be of some value added in terms of the price of gas -- natural gas and the like -- to take the burden off of European countries that are now totally dependent on Russia. But it's going to be hard. It's going to be very hard.

Yes, constantly. And two hours would have been short for one of his daily COVID press conferences.

But the "Biden's presser was longer than any Trump presser" us almost certainly a technical dodge meaning, "no scheduled press conference by the Trump White House for general remarks exceeded the duration of the this Biden press conference." And that might be true, I don't know. But Trump ran marathons with the press, constantly, in all venues.

It was to show the doubters that he ain't doddering. And to fire up his hard base that he's tough.

The fuck? Most Americans have never met someone with Polio, so they can say stoopid things like this.

Polio is awful. I met a guy in Canada who had Polio. Not only was one leg several inches shorter than the other, he was a broken man.

He couldn't read more than a few sentences at a time because he would get massive headaches. That happened because his skull was malformed and focusing his eyes was a great strain on him.

He had a child's ribcage with adult sized organs.

He was hopelessly addicted to opioids because he was in constant pain.

I'm afraid though that US credibility is repeated flushed down the toilet by Democrats every single time when the US is called upon. (see Vietnam 1975, etc.). Any country that enters into a treaty with the US better have it's eyes wide open.

Perhaps that's what Ukraine was trying to buy loyalty from the Dems and Biden, but I guess this only adds to the betrayal. Biden seems ok with Putin taking a bigger bite out of Ukraine. Putin probably doesn't want the whole thing, it would be more than weak and poor Russia could handle anyways. He'll just take a piece at a time whenever a Dem is president (Obama, Biden)

If? I think it is a near certainty at this point. Middle of election cycle, stuck with braindead and a cocksucking dimwit, woke military. The really bad part of it is that I wouldn't put it past the American left to secretly push for it and a half-hearted military engagement if only to seize war powers. Outside invasion worries? Why? Ze Germans thought the same, and with considerably more justification. America can win if everyone else is using wargame rules to let the US military take full advantage of all their gadgets with a relatively united population. The Chinese have gone out of their way to minimize the potential of everything from GPS on down. If they don't buckle under the first military response- and they won't- then they can start by pushing the US forces in Korea into the sea.

Look, there is nothing wrong with supporting the home team, but the mongoloid leaders in Washington didn't see the Russian buildup in Belarus. Tech is good, but it can't replace brains.

Due to our random sanctions on Russia over the last 10-20 years Russia has developed internal means to build almost everything, and the relation with China means he has at least 1 trade partner, and India is talking to them as well.

Even if that hadn't been true, Europe's need for Russian gas is far worse for them than not being able to sell it. And the notion that gas exports are half the Russian GDP is absurd.

440 The Russkies and Ukraine situation is significantly different than the Chinese-Taiwan situation.
But then again, there are similarities.

In Europe, a lot of NATO and EU countries want to make nice with Ivan (like Germany). Other countries, not so much (like Poland).
The alliance is split on the issue. I don't know what or how we would deploy troops there, besides the ones already in Poland. It could be a bad meatgrinder for us to get involved on the ground.

Taiwan has it's detractors, but Japan has invested a lot of money INTO Taiwan to make stuff for Japan. Japan is also alarmed at what China is doing strategically (overall) in Asia. Add Australia, India, S. Korea (which is also divided on the issue and is pretty close physically to China).
If Taiwan falls to the PRC, a lot of dominoes in the Pacific will start falling.
If Russia bites off part of Ukraine or installs a puppet government there, I honestly don't think much really changes.

It may not matter today if Russia takes Ukraine, and China Taiwan, but ever nation that is absorbed into hostile powers will bite us in the ass in the future. Maybe militarily, maybe economically, but if hostile nations gobble up one small nation after another, and we don't expand our sphere of influence, it's not a good thing. We pay with lives now, or many more lived later.

It was the lesson I thought we took away from WW2. Large conflicts will inevitably arise unless someone (the US) is so overwhelmingly powerful that no one dares to start anything. It mostly worked. As Team America said, we have the responsibility because we have the power.

Consider that the current crop of Battalion Commanders and Brigade Commander know nothing of combined arms operations. Nothing. All they know is low intensity conflict in an Afghanistan environment.

This thread has addressed both points accurately. If fully unleashed (minus nukes), the US military can absolutely destroy any other military on the planet.

The odds of our political leaders approving such action, minus a Pearl Harbor-type event, is near 0.

Consider that the current crop of Battalion Commanders and Brigade Commander know nothing of combined arms operations. Nothing. All they know is low intensity conflict in an Afghanistan environment.
Can they train up? Sure! But it will take a year and a shit load of money. It would also help if most of the 4 stars were retired.

It's not just computer microchips. It's a lot of things. Our position in the Pacific will be significantly weaker IF China takes Taiwan. This has been a point of discussion for about 70 years now, since the CCP took over and made China the PRC. There have been a TON of skirmishes between Taiwan and China over the years, each has shot down the other's airplanes, etc.
The single biggest thing we could do would be to put some fast attack subs in the Taiwan straits and sink whatever China sends over to Taiwan, should the fighting start.
I contend that China wants to take Taiwan intact, and not wreck the place. At some point, Taiwan is expected to give in. After all, people in leadership in China not only read Sun Tzu, they memorize passages from his book.

Taiwan might, as they've been talking about it as a way to deny the ChiComs any value in the conquest.

They would be right to do so.

Say that does happen. Tawiwan produces 80% of the world's chips. So there will be a shortage, short term. But China produces 25% and I'm pretty sure they could ramp up production pretty quickly to meet the demand.

Even so, a chip shortage for a few months is not enough of a reason to go to war with China. Sorry. I can wait a few months for my new iphone 15 or whatever number we're at right now.

My point is no one had done it...in real time...on the ground. The NTC used to do this but converted to a full time LIC training program. It will take a year to reset the NTC OPFOR, and then run Battalions and Brigade through there to remember how to fight as a combined arms team.

Posted by: Joe XiDen - I miss Delta Variant at January 20, 2022 05:27 PM (OalnH)
================
China is the physical location of Taiwanese chip plants. As a broad generalization the Chinese have zero ability to run those plants or maintain them. What is ridiculous is your semi-hysterical pro-China rants. You need to understand the difference between plant location and management capacity. Its basic.

But again, the larger point is unhinged posts, like yours, only lead to bigger problems. Trump managed the Pacific incredibly well, I thought, better than any recent president, and his policy was the exact opposite in every respect of what you advocate here.

650 Taiwan Semi is building plants in the US. In addition, they are helping Intel build plants. They sell manufacturing equipment to AMD and Micron. It's a race against time to relocate Taiwanese chip-making technology to the US. Thanks to Trump, that is happening. But we need more time.

Too true, and I am by no means knowledgeable about this. There was a guy I knew once who was a non-com out at NTC, and that was basically what he said.
A lot of the lower level enlisted will have no training for this at all. Some of the older NCO's and officers may remember what to do. I mean, they're not senile and forgetful.
But training has always been the edge for the US military. Since Reagan was President, training has been a by-word for being prepared.
The Russian army is full of 1-2 year conscripts. They might look good against Ukraine.

Not a treaty, not ratified by the senate, and doesn't obligate aid. Russia was one of the states signing the Budapest memorandum so it wasn't specifically against them either.

At most it calls for consultation in the event of Ukraine's borders being violated, and to make a request for aid to the UN security council if a nuclear threat is made against them (how about them Russian and Chinese vetoes).

Ukraine considers it a treaty, since to admit otherwise would mean they got cajoled out of their nukes, but obviously since we never ratified it as a treaty in the Senate it cannot be a binding treaty with us.

In practice it's another lesson for countries to not trust us diplomatically and to never enter a NPT if they aren't already allied with a nuclear power.
