Dogs are man's best friend. Not man's smart friend.

Red panda frolicking in the snow.

Finding the sort of work a cat enjoys. They're kinda femmy.

Puppy gives his favorite toy first eats from the dog dish.

So anyone who makes their own terrain for D&D or Warhammer 40K... ever think about adding a koi pond feature?

Dog bottle-feeds baby goat.

Yappy little dog isn't so tough when he's in the same cage as his enemies (chickens).

Skateboardin' border collie (I think).

Just-born kitten rugrats.

Romance.

Stopping traffic to help a duck family cross the highway. I have a feeling that some commuters may feel not-so-warmly about this.

Inman: You picked the wrong motorcyclist to get tough with to show off for your boyfriend for, Chief.

You got a gun. Great. But you used it to rob the wrong store, Hoss.

You tried to mug the wrong building, Cochise.

You f***ed with the wrong frog, Frog-Chief.

32 The armorer for doomed western 'Rust' -- where a cinematographer was shot dead by a live bullet in October -- is laying part of the blame on gunman Alec Baldwin for failing to attend a training session.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed filed a lawsuit in a Bernalillo County, New Mexico court on Wednesday that claims Baldwin, 63, ignored a request to attend a 'cross draw' session about a week before the tragedy.

The rookie armorer also faulted assistant director David Halls for failing to follow set protocol when he allegedly handed Baldwin the weapon without first calling on her to inspect it, according to the lawsuit.

100 had a real Modern World moment today. Waiting on a UPS package and got an email all about how I could click here and get this fantastic real time map that would show me exactly where the driver was and the map updates automatically techy techy bla bla bla. So I click on it and it has a disclaimer hidden on the bottom that says driver position is an estimate and should not be construed as any sort of promise of delivery soon if it was nearby and the only real estimate is before 9 pm and that is not a guarantee but an estimate. Which way to the Egress again? I want to see the Egress.

104 It's interesting about the cross-drawing because one of the earliest rumours was Baldwin was effing-around practicing it sitting in a church-pew when it wasn't required for the scene they were planning. [And that out of boredom while the director and the guy did technical camera stuff??] That should get him manslaughter or local equivalent IMHO, along with him ultimately having been responsible for all safety practices and hires for the film.

And if he did deliberately point it at them and fire while "joking" he wanted to kill them for annoying him staging things, it should be Second-Degree Murder.

I fear he'll get away with it though other than for any civil cases that result.

Truck drivers no doubt have to put up with a lot of nonsense, but it's not like they're not creating as much as they get. The obvious is when they intentionally hop into the left hand lane in front of you, and park themselves next to the truck in the right hand lane, doing maybe one MPH more.

But given the fact that there are dozens and dozens of serial killer truck drivers, this isn't the worst thing they are doing.

It's only an estimate. Based on the number of dead hookers and such, found all around the country, the most likely scenario is there's more than 100 operating at any given time. Nobody knows for sure, but you don't drop off that many dead bodies if you're just sight-seeing. You almost certainly have a big vehicle in which to store the body, then drop it off in some state, hundreds of miles away from where you picked it up.

Almost all trucks are speed governed. Almost all are going as fast as they can. When coming up behind a slower truck, even one 1 mph slower, or heaver, they have a choice to make, slow down and lose momentum (they may weigh 75,000 lbs and have a 350HP motor) or risk having to downshift, or pass. In 1936 Dems won 75 senate seats, Reps won only 17. The rest were 3rd parties.

Prior to the announcement of her indictment, the story of the day was a convicted arsonist, who tried to burn his ex girlfriend to death. Mosby's office dropped 18 felony charges, including three attempted murder charges, and the guy was on the street in six months. The bad part was that the convicted arsonist felt that he should have been in jail much longer, and that
her policies simply emboldened criminals.

Posted by: Tonypete at January 13, 2022 08:38 PM (mD/uy)

Almost all drivers will choose the middle lane. It gives two escape options if someone does something stupid. Plus right lanes often turn into exit lanes, which require a lane change. Stats show the most dangerous thing a big truck has to do, when on the road, is change lanes.

Our side still doesn't mainly get how much they live for simultaneously rousing their rabble and poking at us.

Trump used to say it - Chuck and Nancy cry in front of the camera, then they get in a room, close the door and laugh their heads off.

Everything OCASIO says and does personifies what they are. Look at the fun behind her eyes when she scowls and looks all angry and upset. She can't hide it. She thinks it's hilarious. They all do. And even after Trump lit the way, we only mildly get it.

I think it's part of the negotiations. People think that each case is decided on it's own, but they aren't. We saw behind the curtain in a big way not long ago when the court mysteriously saw that Congress meant "gay" when it said "men and women" but then issued a very strong defense of religious freedom in hiring decisions.

In this case, they decided they had to gut the OSHA thing, but declined to stomp the medical one.

Note that they didn't rule on the merits, they just refused an injunction. That means they can come back later and say: "Oopsie, you shouldn't have gotten the jab!" and all will be good and right.

Blame this mostly on the engine/speed governors installed by the trucking companies, trying to get insurance discounts.

Drivers need to be given an over-ride switch to allow a +5mph pass, tied into a dashcam system to document the pass. Said driver had best let-off that switch within "xx" seconds of initiating the pass, or it'll send a report to Corporate. Best of both worlds, the company gets 95% speed limitation, other motorists get trucks not as much doing the Texas Rolling Roadblock, writ large.

I've hand stitched more welts than I can remember. Took apart a lot of old boots and shoes. Dry leather needs Lexol and a very light coat of pure neatsfoot oil. Too much oil floats the leather apart and it will just crumble. Cool video, memories of another dying trade I worked in.

So the long-awaited GOP plan to fight inflation is...to do nothing?

The dumb bitch, and the rest of the dumb fucks like her, need to read a simple economics book. Adam Smith, or Milton Friedman.

Inflation is too many dollars chasing too few goods. Plain and simple. The only "plan" government can do is stop printing dollars.

So - yes - the best thing these stupid dicks in charge - like every other dick in charge that's done QE, or borrowing, or printing - is to just stop.

Do ... literally ... nothing.

Edward VII
He got very little money from the Crown, except for the two palaces he sold to George VI.

He was called up to the Governorship of Bahamas (under threat of Court Martial) , but that paid poorly. Really, his wife spent an incredible amount of money on clothes, jewelry, and household furnishings.

In later years, he parlayed biographical book payments into stock market equity to the tune of $3 million. The Duchess, his heir, gave it all to French institutions. The UK got nothing.

No, that was Eddy VIII, in the 30's. (who was really ousted because he was so pro-Hitler, and all of the leadership knew it)

Edward VII was King from 1901 to 1910, and he worked tirelessly to forestall the coming European war throughout his reign. Sadly, once he died all of his efforts fell apart; it wasn't his son's fault, George V was simply too young and inexperienced at the time to command the same level of respect from the other leaders of the time.
