Everything Is a Problem, Some Bigger Than Others

I had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Fabulous Mrs. Mis. Hum and I attended a candle light service with our middle daughter Christmas Eve.

After returning from church we watched "It's A Wonderful Life" and snacked the night away. So many snacks and so little time. I wish I had seen this before our Christmas Eve snacks and/or Christmas meal.

Although we weren't able to be with our other 2 daughters on Christmas Day. We were able to share our gift opening through the blessing of technology. Yes, Face Time for the win.

Tis the season to be Merry, unless you're employed by MSNBC.
Can you imagine going through life this miserable?

MSNBC columnist calls for end of NORAD Santa tracker 'out of concern for Santa's safety' from US military
The columnist wondered if a military that 'wrongly' kills would ever come clean if it assassinated Santa

An MSNBC columnist is calling for the end of the NORAD Santa tracker, claiming that it is time to "decouple" Santa Claus from American military culture.

In an op-ed published on MSNBC.com, opinion columnist Hayes Brown took issue with the North American Aerospace Defense Command’s 60-year tradition of tracking Santa Claus’s imaginary journey across the globe delivering presents and explained why "if had my way, this year would be the last."

I can read Mr. Brown' mind. Tradition be damned. I'm a miserable soul and I want to wallow in it. People enjoying Santa Claus's route is a problem.

45 Foolish Mr. Brown NORAD has never been able to track Santa, as you would expect. An entity that can tunnel through time and space to effectively be many, many places at once defies all existing methodology. The energy pulses can be detected but only serve of evidence that something happened in that location many seconds ago. This has been known since the first pulse detecting satellite was placed in orbit in 1968.

The US Department of Defense has maintained the premise that Santa travels solely in Einsteinian space-time to divert the interest of enemy powers in researching the potential of duplicating the chronal portal ability

51 And I don't consider the NORAD Santa app/web site to be "just a waste" Its safe practice for making an app that works and can handle traffic. I don't know if they offer an app that would alert where a missile was headed but the Santa app helps them build the capability. Its OKAY for NORAD to do this along with tracking satellite and space debris and emailing the groups with active satellites when there is a chance of collision so those groups can shut down instruments and maneuver is needed.

Some poor kid is coming in to see what Santa left and finds dead bird splattered all over the place! And what the fuck is wrong with the dolly? Internet says she has emotional issues. WHAT!?!?!
Great. Dolly snaps and the family is butchered before the turkey is done! Charlie in the box you say? How does a kid know that creepy motherfucker is named Charlie? Oh yeh, it talks!!! Trying to jump the food thread? Anyway, you can reheat a lot of ways (325 oven for 20 min, slow cooker low, grill, or sous vide), but the big advice seems to be to slice after cooking and resting and let it sit in the juices (save them all) for overnight storage, then bring to room temp the next day before attempting a reheat (and use beef broth to keep moist for the warm up if you don't have enough fluids)...

I don't really make brisket, so YMMV with this advice...

In March 2021, an article in Scientific American urged NASA to reconsider the name of the telescope, based on Webb's alleged complicity during the Lavender Scare persecution of LGBTQ employees during the Harry Truman administration. In September 2021, NASA announced it had declined to rename the telescope. Former administrator Sean O'Keefe, who made the decision to name the telescope after Webb, denounced discrimination against "talented professionals on the basis of their personal preferences", but stated that to suggest Webb should "be held accountable for that activity when there's no evidence to even hint [that he participated in it] is an injustice". One member of NASA's Astrophysics Advisory Committee (APAC) resigned in response to this decision.

See Chud's BBQ channel on YT. If you finish the cook Monday evening, AND you have an oven that can be set low to 150* or 160*, then let the brisket rest and cool down from 205* to about 170*, then (re)wrap with tallow and keep in the oven until ready to slice and serve Tuesday midday. 12 hour oven rests at that temp will further make it tender and the tallow on the butcher paper wrap will keep it juicy.

It's like they are in the epicycle period of science, before Kepler and Newton. And I still think so.
Maybe the Web Telescope will sort out the trash.

It was different for me, as upon her arrival one of my daughters asked everyone to take a rapid covid test before she would walk inside our rental home, and my son failed (residual covid from his infection several weeks ago). My daughter decided not to listen to reason and bundled her husband, herself and their baby back in their car. My second daughter decided not to even try to come here with her baby for several more days, until the covid smoke clears.

171 Looking for some advice in the slow cooked meats department. Daughter and her family are coming here for a midday meal on Tuesday and wanted brisket. So to avoid getting up at 1 a.m. to fire up the Traeger I am planning to cook it through the day tomorrow.. What is the best way to handle the cooked brisket for serving the following day? Foil it and put it in a cooler? Foil it and put it in the fridge? Slice it after it comes off the grill and rests, then refrigerate it? And what's the best way to re-warm it for serving? Anny suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Posted by: Muldoon at December 26, 2021 02:44 PM

If you're going to do it that way, put it in an aluminum 'foil' pan, cover (tightly), refrigerate, and reheat w/some beef broth in the oven.

If I may suggest an alternative, cook it on your Traeger at 250 or less (IME, some Traeger's temp indicators are off) until you've gotten through the 'stall' (internal temp has broken through 160), then foil it w/some apple juice, but it back on the grill, crank the temp to 350, and let it cook until 203-205 internal. (A 'dirty' little secret is that meat doesn't pick up much smoke flavor after it's +160 internal)

172 The Omicron fear porn has seized the NY media like the bubonic plaque this weekend and EVERYONE is a gonna die!

Some liberal outlet called AMNY reports the following attempt to scare you:

"But Omicron, Delta and the other variants of COVID-19 continue to particularly hit the unvaccinated population hard....More unvaccinated New Yorkers are also winding up in the hospital with COVID-19 symptoms. The city reported that the unvaccinated hospitalization rate was 39.47 per 100,000, more than ten times the vaccinated hospitalization rate of 3.79 per 100,000."

Get that? You have a 99.96% of never going to the hospital with Covid if you are unvaccinated versus...um 99.99% never going if you are...technically ten times more likely than nothing is...nothing. Thanks NY media - you're officially mentally demented.

After the Conejo Guardian's report on alarming trends in Ventura County hospitals, more nurses have come forward to affirm the rise in unexplained heart problems, strokes and blood clotting in local vaccinated patient populations. They also say doctors refuse to consider that these could be adverse reactions to Covid shots.

Sam, a critical care nurse at an ICU in a Ventura County hospital, came forward because, "I'm tired of all the B.S. that's going on," he told the Guardian. "It's crazy how nobody questions anything anymore."

Which is weird, because everything I've seen in Portland is that the vaccinated are getting Omicron more than the unvaccinated.

To get into the club, you had to show proof of vaccination or negative Covid test.

Dude. Doctor. You won't be up all day with that one.

Get up at a reasonable hour (0700 is good.) Coat it with either CYM (cheap yellow mustard (or French's if that's what you have)) or 80:20 Worcester Sauce:Bourbon, then your rub of choice. Fire up the Traeger. When it's 250F, but the brisket on fat side down for 45 minutes or so, then turn and leave for another 45 min. Check internal temp; if >160F, foil with some apple juice, and put back on Traeger. Check internal temp every so often. If serving time is < 2hrs and you're not close to 205F or so internal, crank the Traeger temp to 305. When @205F, take off, wrap in a couple of towels, and put in a cooler to rest at least 30 min (60 to 120 is not excessive). Slice across the grain. (The advice to foil ~1/2 through is because it's closely trimmed.)

Yes, the "original" COVID is pretty much gone. As are the Alpha and Beta and most of the rest of the Greek alphabet mutations.

Which is why the "vaccines" aren't working - they weren't formulated for any of those strains. This virus is doing what ALL viruses do - mutating to keep going until the entire population has been exposed, then disappearing when there are no more hosts to infect.

SARS-COVID-1 did the same thing; hung around for 2 years, then went away for good.

I've always done a smoke phase at 160 for about 3 hours, but it seems like that's just to allow for a good smoke ring. I then kick the heat up to 225 or so and follow the same procedure as you outlined, foiling with apple juice after it gets through the plateau). I guess that initial low temp phase is not really necessary then. Plus, I usually wake up at 5 a.m. anyway, so you are probably right and I can get ''er done same day. Seven hours to noon, then serve ~1:00 pm.

Plus, if it does happen to take longer and she and the boys have to hit the road, more for me!

People whose birthday is from the first tomthe 10th nofm the month will be paid on The second Wednesday. (Jan 12th). B-day 11- 20 paid on 3rd Wednesday (Jan 19). B- day 21 - 31 paid on 4th Wednesday (Jan 26).

Easier said than done, at least when it comes to the mandates for employment or college attendance.

But when it comes to things like attending an entertainment event (eating out, concert, sports game) or flying anywhere, everyone should be ending those activities. But since no one did that for masks, shows that the majority of people in this country refuse to do the small things to prevent tyranny. Sad.

Equally sad that we're seeing massive demonstrations and protests in nations all over the world... except the USA. The most anyone will do is say "Let's Go Brandon", while continuing to fly, attend sports games, send their kids to school masked all day, etc.

I made it through most of yesterday okay, until dinner and the toasts, then I came apart and started crying on my brother-in-law's shoulder (he was closest). I'd planned to go to a prayer service with them, but wasn't sure I was stable enough, so I got John to bring me home instead, got drunk, and slept till almost 9 AM today (I usually get up between 6 and 7).

They got my gifts and leftovers to me about an hour ago, so I guess things are fairly normal, or as much as possible. Probably not really so until after New Year's, but I'll power through. Sometimes nothing else you can do.

Between the idiots moving here from California and paying cash, and the selfish bas**rds buying houses to rent out on AirBnB, and the fact that all the developers build NOTHING but EXPENSIVE houses, there is no stock. There is a s**t ton of the older small houses FOR RENT ON AIRBNB! So, the older, small houses are not available for purchase.

It didn't help that they called it the "Stop the Steal" rally. I knew by Dec 11, 2020 when the SCOTUS rejected the Texas lawsuit that all was lost. But Trump kept pushing some ridiculous hope that the election could be overturned. He's the one that pushed for people to go to the rally. Anyone paying attention should have known that the rally was going to be nothing more than a going away party for Trump. But he setup the fund to donate to "stop the steal" (anyone have any idea where all that money went?), he encouraged the rally, etc. For all the good he did during his time as President prior to March 2020, from the beginning of the Plandemic through to the end, he make mistake after mistake that left the country in ruins.

If those Airbnb are in some townhome communities, turn them in as most associations don't allow.

You didn't translate Brown into French. Let me do it for you - 'merde'.

Reminded me of the Chinese-German restaurant: the cuisine is great but an hour later you're hungry for power.

306 I had coffee at a cafe this morning and watched people walk by on the sidewalk. I counted fewer than 10 people were unmasked.

I saw a 'headline' somewhere last night that said San Francisco is now requiring full Covid vaccination in order to defecate on the sidewalk.

307 268 Unvaxed buddy in good shape had blood clots in his lungs from covid and would randomly hit the floor passed out. 2 trips to the ICU. Vaxed wife had a cold.

Your friend is in the minority. Most of the people dropping from blood clots are jabbed. The jabbed seem to react worse from covid.

There's probably an app for that.

309 Confession: I am genetically chronically tardy, always have been(my father was/is famous for it, so much so that for engraved invitations to major events his friends would have one made just for him that listed the time 1/2-1hour early)
Hence: I have missed the opening minutes to nearly every show/movie.
This year at the age of sixty-mumblemumble...I finally saw the opening minutes of "It's a Wonderful Life", until now I knew nothing about the fall through the ice or the mistake with the poison...except that it was referred to later in the show, certainly didn't know about the two girls history with George from the soda stand.
I am truly chagrined to have to admit that though I have "seen the movie" at least 75times, I had been late to EVERY prior viewing. Even moreso to recognize it is the same with hundreds of other films(unless I rented them on tape, or happened to be watching the end of something else before that particular show came on late night tv.)

312 Hey would you mind letting me know which webhost you're working with? I've loaded your blog in 3 different web browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most. Can you recommend a good hosting provider at a fair price? Cheers, I appreciate it!

313 Heya this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

318 I'm not sure exactly why but this website is loading very slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end? I'll check back later and see if the problem still exists.
